Senate Republicans to Tea Party Movement: Go Screw Yourselves
by Capitol ConfidentialSenate Republicans think you are stupid. Leaders in the Senate Republican Caucus are opposing a measure by Tea Party Senator Jim DeMint of South Carolina to ban earmarks for two years. The elites are angry.
Senate Republican Leaders have led an effort to beat back DeMint’s proposal in an effort to save earmarking. An Earmark is a special project, usually secured by a lobbyist friend of the politician, for a project in a Senator’s home state. See Bridge to Nowhere is an excellent example of an earmark. An earmark is a means for Members of Congress to send federal money to projects favored by the member. These members are elitists who think the Tea Party movement will tolerate Republicans going back to the free spending ways of the Bush years.
On Tuesday, Senator DeMint is forcing a vote on a proposal to change the rules of the Senate Republican Caucus to ban earmarks for two years. Seems like a proposal that makes sense, yet the elites and lobbyists are angry. Leaders of the party are fighting against DeMint to make sure that they can preserve earmarking. They just don’t get it and believe that the Tea Party movement is here to serve selfish politics.
There is no greater symbol of “big government” than earmarks — those pesky little things that Members use to reward campaign contributors or send taxpayer money to their states and districts — and that Congressional “leadership” uses to pass huge spending bills. In fact, it was Republicans who used earmarks to grow government during the Bush years. And now, of course, the Pelosi and Reid machine churns out earmarks relentlessly — 15,000 of them last year — many sponsored by Republicans.
This week Boehner and crew will vote to ban earmarks for two years — great — while there is a contentious debate raging in the Senate Republican Conference. The expected Speaker of the House John Boehner gets it and House Republican Leadership is complying with the wishes of the Tea Party movement. Boehner hears the Tea Party movement and is listening to them. That is more than can be said of Senator Mitch McConnell who is fighting the Tea Party movement. McConnell loves his pork more than he likes the Tea Party.
In one corner you have recovering earmarker Jim DeMint, who together with Tom Coburn and a number of other Senators (old and new — including John Cornyn and Rand Paul), have offered a resolution to ban Republican Senators from requesting earmarks for two years — in line with what Boehner and Cantor are doing in the House. Apparently unable to stop sucking at the “trough” of big government for even a short amount of time, Senators McConnell, Lamar Alexander, Jim Inhofe, Thad Cochran, Richard Shelby and Roger Wicker are fighting even the slightest semblance of a slowdown in earmarks.
In defending his right to steal people’s money, Inhofe doesn’t mince words — saying that folks who question why federal taxpayer money is going to Oklahoma — are “brainwashed” or pushing a “phony issue.”
If you care about controlling the size of government, CALL OR WRITE TO THE REPUBLICANS IN THE SENATE (and those that just got elected). Taxpayers Against Earmarks has a great website and is tracking the Senate GOP Conference vote. Their tally is here: Vote Tally. They also have the phone number and email link for every Republican Senator and Senator-Elect.
Some Senate Republicans are laughing at the Tea Party movement and they don’t think you will speak up. Make Senate Republican Leadership back down. Don’t let big spending Senate Republicans steal all that was gained on Election Day, because of the Tea Party movement. Don’t let them screw you over and spend all of your money.

These bastards are just the reason we voted out the previous person, They can be voted out too. Who the hell can we trust? Only ourselves.
This is inexcuseable and the penalties will be severe. Ear Marks my ass! It's continuing corrupption at it's best.
Did anyone actually think the republicans cared about them more than the democrats? Wow, remember people it isn't the republicans vs the democrats, it is the government vs the people.
Click for cartoon.
If we can't cut earmarks, which are clearly pay for play paybacks, how the hell are we EVER going to cut NPR, the NEA, the DOE, socialist security, welfare, medicaid, and Obamacare?
Clearly we still have a lot of cleaning to do in the Senate. No more RINOS. No more earmarkers.
The message needs to be made clear: If you support earmarks, YOU WILL GET PRIMARIED.
They're angry? Oh poor poor Rinos. We will be mad as HELL if you RINOS keep it up. I know we stepped on your toes on Nov. 2, but we will kick you all in the ass in 2012.
Ya all better wake up, and do whats right. If you don't we will in the next election, then the next and so on and so on. NO MORE RINOS !
I got blasted here a couple days ago when I said this would happen and the Tea Party should consider running as a Third Party and be careful who they let in because a lot of Republicans are actually RINO's and the first two that should go is our two RINO's in Maine. Lets face it a lot of Republicans are as corrupt as DemocRATS.
TEA PARTY PROTESTS GOP LEADERSHIP – that's the headline we need to see, right away.
The Kentucky (and possibly neighboring Ohio or Cincinnati) Tea Party and 9-12 groups need to protest McConnell to get media attention. IT'S NOT ABOUT PARTY, ITS ABOUT DOING WHAT'S RIGHT!
And kudos to DeMint for using the earmarks issue to reveal McConnell for the unprincipled establishment hack that he is. REPLACE MCCONNELL!
These guys are really dense.
Why do they constantly mischaracterize this debate? The choice is: DeMint wants Republicans to stop using earmarks, McConnell wants to stop using ALL earmarks for both parties or nobody gets handicapped. Why don't you understand this? Everyone is for losing ALL earmarks, but why is DeMint proposing only Republicans, and only non-binding at that? How about a law that OUTLAWS earmarks? If they were listening to the Tea Party I read about, that's what they'd be proposing, but instead, it's some BS political cover ploy. Make the sausage, ban the practice, move on. That's what the Tea Party wanted. Anything less, and you're being scammed by your own party.
Remember, the real election for the soul of the country is in the primary, not the general. The Tea Party needs to continue to gather more strength and run candidates against these clowns. The entrenches corruptocrats like McConnell don't get it. Even though the Tea Party candidates lost a few general elections, by winning the primary and ousting RINOs and progressive Republicans, they accomplished their mission. It's about principle, not power.
We've been giving Senators leeway to spend out money for decades. Time for them to give it back or take a hike.
Senator DeMint , we stand by your proposal and you 100 %. Go get them sir !!!
If it pisses off the elitist and the lobbyist, it needs to be done. The herd needs more thinning, come on 2012.
Everyone write your representatives, and reaffirm, in no uncertain terms, who they work for, “us.”
Now that they have been drawn out & made themselves known as part of the problem & NOT the solution, please keep a bead drawn on all of THEM til the next election cycle– and remind the voters then, that THEY ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM with big government, NOT the solution
"Earmarks" – There is no constitutionality for spending our tax dollars this way…Period.
Any congressman who has successfully used ear marks for their districts back home should be in jail…Period
We are a society of laws. Bout time we start enforcing them…
DeMint for PRESIDENT!!!!
i agree doc, doesnt make any sense at all for only Republicans to stop earmarking, dont forget that Obama can spend the Discretionary fund (earmarks) also.
"The more an official is committed to compromise, the less able he is to resist anything: to give in is his
"instinctive" response in any emergency…" ~A Rand~
There ya have it, they have no ability to resits the HOG trough, belly up Senators and eat your fill from
the PUBLIC trough, after all it's only our grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will suffer in a USA
that resembles today's Cuba or Mexico.
THIS IS WAR!!!
.
The fact that people SNEAK earmarks into bills says it all. If these things were really needed and the people really wanted them, then why can't they be voted on properly? Because it's out and out theft, that's why.
I say limit the number of things that a bill can be about to the actual subject of the bill.
LOL, and I thought the only list I would be making this month was a Christmas list. HA HA HA HA…
This one will be all NAUGHTY…
.
I think DeMint wishes to prove a point instead of fighting a war. Everyone knows there will be a big political battle over the possible elimination of earmarking. This is one of those fights where you will hear all the right platitudes about eliminating them, blah, blah, blah. Then, let the furor die down and it's back to business as usual, banking of course, on the short American political memory. DeMint want to set an example and prove that government runs just wonderfully without them.
I'm glad McConnell wants to eliminate them entirely, if he really does. DeMint reads the mood of the electorate perfectly.
Time to put up or shut up 2012 can't get here fast enough for me. It won't stop until we get rid of the old and in with the new…
Apparently we have a failure to communicate. Tea Party, start doing advertising on TV requesting people who are anti earmarks and interested in running against these Rinos start the application process. NOW!
Like a petulant six year old they're gonna show US who's boss, he he he I just loved it when
my kids tried to pull that stunt on me, and I expect to enjoy the lil lesson NO less with these guys
than I did when I taught my own children who was really IN CHARGE.
Time to roll up our sleeves and get to work.
.
I live in KY. I am an independent who votes for the conservative candidtate. THis last election the obvious choice was Rand Paul. The next election it will be not Mitch McConnell.
Unless the RINOs get in line with conservative values they should be voted out.
I lost a lot of respect for the RINOs when they supported Barbara MurkyBowWowski despite her loss in the primaries.
This is a test. I repeat this is only a test…
I didn't just vote to put Republicans into office…I voted to put politicians out of office. If the people I voted for become turncoats I'll vote against them, too.
I don't want a U.S. Senator to bring home the Bacon because A) the money for the bacon was never sent to Washington and B) the money for the bacon WAS sent to the State by the people within the state.
Where in the Constitution does it say that the state need apply to the federal government for bacon?
Why a ban for just two years? I don't get that.
It seems to be saying, "Hey, if we win back the White House and congress it's party time!"
Just say no…forever. Earmarks are the gateway drugs for career politicians.
American People to GOP SENATE RINOS: GO F YOURSELVES.
JEFFERSON PRINCIPLE! JEFFERSON PRINCIPLE! JEFFERSON PRINCIPLE!
Thomas Jefferson said it the Declaration of Independence that when your government quits working for the you and the rest of the people, it is the duty of the people to abolish that government! Here we have the situation of the government not only having quit working for us but the government is acting in a despot totalitarian mode against the people they are to serve! This is "BIG" government run amuck! This is why we need to reduce the size of government ASAP. One way to do that is to just literally stop sending state money to them. Let the states keep there own money so they can spend it as they see fit. Just send to Washington enough money so they can provide the essentials outlined in the Constitution! The way it is now as become nothing more than back room wheeling and dealing to see how the tax money can be divided amongst all the players as earmarks and pork spending which as you should know somehow some of that money lands into their pockets to make them richer coming out as when they went into politics! Less money = smaller government!
I'm still thinking about voting Cornyn out. For a reasons being, he allowed the RINOs to steal the elections. I don't think he really likes the Tea Party canidates that we have choosen but was willing to work with them. Not sure if I can trust him anymore.
I guess they think that they've "embarrassed" the tiny portion of the Tea Party movement that is Tea Party Patriots (over the frosh orientation) and believe that makes any difference at all. They don't get it, apparently. The Tea Party is we, the people, and there are literally hundreds, maybe by now thousands, of Tea Party groups, orgs, etc. across this nation. Besides, Tea Party Patriots has bent over backwards to work with the establishment and what's the big deal anyway on that? I notice that even Fox can't let it go, but you know what, that doesn't change a thing. That's one of the privileges of being truly grassroots. No one owns us. We don't rely on PACs or lobbyists or unions or any other organization over which they hold sway or can barter away American values and freedoms. Nope. And we don't rely on government handouts, we don't rely on the "goodwill" of any politician. They rely on us. That's how it should be, how it is, and how it will continue to be. Time to get on the phone and start churning out tweets and emails.
Who says DeMint wants Republicans to stop using earmarks only?
Check out Glenn Reynolds on Dana Loesch's radio show – all about earmarks. He makes the case that though the earmark itself is not a lot of money, the vote it buys often unleashes a project that costs a ton. http://wp.me/pRtNi-4ul
We need an amendment to the Constitution. No bill may be longer than the Constitution.
heh, great minds, I just copied and pasted the names for coming elections.
Take note of those not backing the ban of earmarks and then VOTE THEM OUT NEXT ROUND!
They always forget there is a tomorrow …
They remember 1994 when we never followed up on the AW ban and just went back to sleep. Never again. Restore the Constitution, no matter how long it takes.
Incumbants best proceed at their own peril. We will never forget!
Absolutely! I guess those that are wanking about the proposal are deaf. No problem, they will get the pink slips next.
Billy, this place is just as bad as the dailykos, you are not suppose to say anything but "The republicans are great." Other opinions will NOT be tolerated here.
EDIT: I have a negative four within 45 minutes. DON'T DISAGREE! The little one's feeling get hurt easy.
Here's a nice little tune! Maybe it will put you in the mood.
We're makin our list, we're checking it twice,
gonna find out who's naughty or nice
2012 is coming around!
It's so nice and brisk outside. Great rino hunting weather! And aren't they nice to make it so easy to put our list together! Why for their next trick, I am sure the rinos are storing up ACORNS for the winter too. It is the time for seperating the wheat and the chaffe…..2012 is coming around! Nice little tune!
What was it someone said about the Bourbon Dynasty?
"They never forgot anything, they never learned anything"
If the Republican elites don't get it soon, the Tea Party will break away and the Republican Party will become irrelevant.
Perhaps more people will take notice this next election ……
FIRE 'EM ALL. TERM LIMITS. NO EARMARKS. We cannot afford any more career politicians. You think they're waffling now …. try to get just one of them to write or sponsor a bill for term limits. These guys are just as power hungry as the ones we just fired. We need citizen/politicians like the Founders intended.
I will continue to give them the benefit of doubt, but not for long. I did the same for Oblamer, his royal anus and he proved himself to be a liar, fraud and a hater of the Republic. The Republicans have been given another chance … that's all … one more chance.
I knew it the day after the election when people like Lindsey Graham and Trent Lott were basically quoted in the news as saying the Republican party needed to bring the Tea Party into the Republican machinery.
The Tea Party supporting legislators need to start throwing wrenches into the gears of that machinery!
So, for starters put Grahams name on that list.
I think that's just the reality in the Senate. Republicans are the minority, so they can't force the democrats to stop earmarking. They can only vote on a rule that would stop Republican earmarks.
Three weeks ago, lest we forget
Well don't tell Mitch McConnel the fight is on, he is all ready to make kissy face.
GOP leader hopes to work with Obama on some issues
Work with Obama, do you get that people? WORK with the marxist.
You know what he wants to work on:
"make changes to the health care overhaul"
Thats right, make some changes.
Is that what you people want? More bending over the aisle and 'make changes to the health care overhaul'.
Mitchey-baby, you are being watched like a hawk.
Third party will GUARANTEE Dems winning. The proper way to do this is to kick the RINO's out of the Party – by FIRING them or Retiring them. We KNOW that they are as corrupt. If you had been paying attention, we've been calling for Steele removal, along with all these RINO's for years.
You got blasted for the third party comment.
True, if this is a ruse by Inhofe et al to simply continue with earmarks, then damn him with the same brush. BAN THE EARMARKS!!! STOP THE SPENDING!!! STOP THE BORROWING!!!
What I emailed to Senators McConnell, Lamer Alexander, Jim Inhofe, Thad Cochran, Richard Shelby and Roger Wicker:
Just because your State is a "Taker State" doesn't mean that I, living in Georgia, am happy to be a Donor State taxpayer.
IF you'd BAN EARMARKS and then CHANGE the IRS System OR better yet, TOTALLY REFORM the IRS structure so that it's easier and takes less money away from the States so that States such as Kentucky can hold onto more money to spend on their own needs, then Kentucky wouldn't be a "second rate taker State" ~~ Ever consider that?
1- BAN EARMARKS
2- SHRINK the Federal Government [You know as well as I that there are too many Federal Employees doing little or nothing for the good of the entire USofA, which is their JOB. And you know that there are some Cabinet Positions which should be abandoned. AFTER you SHRINK the Federal Government, REDUCING TAXES is a no-brainer.]
3- REPEAL or REFORM the IRS system. [You know as well as I that the IRS is not Constitutional and is a BLOT on Congress!]
Don't be a stubborn old man, sir. It's unbecoming of your office.
Hope to see you when I visit the DC area sometime.
Take this email to heart, sir, you really don't want to be on the "other side" of the "TaxedEnoughAlready Party" movement.
right, and no spending rule would be constitutional unless it applied equally to all, and, I'm not sure, but I think there's a chance it would have to be super majority strong in both Senate and House, especially to override veto power. Won't happen with Republicans in control of it all, with sixty seven in the Senate and three hundred in the house, they'd simply devolve into neanderlithic infighting and stop the process.
While I applaud DeMint for taking this stand, it worries me that he's not championing the Dems to join, trying to force it by pushing a law for ALL earmarks to be banned. Other than that wrinkle, I totally agree, DeMint for pres. He even looks like Reagan, doesn't he?
exactly, start asking the right questions. How about going for the end zone? Ban them all for everyone, period. Because it won't fly, and this is just grandstanding. Possible positioning for a run in 2012, something we've been waiting for. Again, I support DeMint, but ban them all, and why just R's, and why just for two years? Sort of like saying, yeah, we need to stop the spending, cut the AC down by one degree for a couple of hours a day, will ya, let's show these folks we mean BIDNESS!!!!
All Legislation needs to be in Single Bill Form! No piggy-back earmarks. Term Limits too! That way we don't get more McConnell's.
NO pensions for Congress. This should not be a career.
Congress should be a constantly rotating body of Citizens who have the best interest of U.S. as their goal, not their own career !
They can stand against the consensus all day long…for another 2 years and then we can dump them too. At one time I thought McConnell was smart, but now I'm seeing he is a fool and more RINO than he leads us to believe. Keep it up RINO's, your day too is coming. You'll all be out an your asses. Then you can go to the country club and play with your liberal buddies.
You don't get it, it's not going to be business as usual during the next 2 years. It's going to be governing for and by the PEOPLE! You'll stick to governing, redacting ridiculous bills and laws, defunding others, correcting others that better serve the AMERICAN CITIZEN, not the ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT, er, UNDOCUMENTED WORKER…However you wish to call them.
But that is my point, why jump all over DeMint? Yes he wants to end all earmarking, he cannot so is doing what can be done.
Politics is the art of the possible, give the man a chance.
Holding Government office is not a career.
Heck yeah!
But didn't you hear? It's Lisa's seat. Her daddy gave it to her.
We nned another round of politician DUMPING! McConnell, Graham, McCain, and the rest of the I JUST DON'T GET IT REPUBLICANS need to be shown the door. Didn't the last election send a message to these clowns? Term limits NOW!
While the issue of earmarks is relatively small in terms of cutting the debt, it is symbolically huge. It is huge because it will show us who to work to defeat in primaries in upcoming Congressional and Senatorial elections.
Take down their names and scalp them as they come up for re-election.
Isn't this a "Lame Duck Session"? Why are we talking about earmarks at all? The Dem's still have control so really nothing can come out of this untill January. Why are they wasting our time getting us so angry when they need too concentrate on extending Bush's Tax Cuts? They have our "Small Business's" hostage and if cannot wait until the new house takes over in January.. We need too be taking the gridlock out of the unknown and start the economy again Let America know so they can move on. I am all about getting rid of earmarks but I just do not see why DeMint is advertising his proposal at this time or why it news at all.
I see we have a few 2012 targets that do not get the fact that We The People are the foundation for whatever power these ruling class types think they hold. I will start working today to unseat them.
This is almost biblical in that economy is flat lining, the debt is trebling, unemployment is 9.6 %, and the Democrat party may not recover for a generation, and Americans are still in the mood for rebellion. And these republicans can’t even see the sign of the times. But I suspect they shall see Armageddon.
"Not in my backyard". Just yours? No…we demand slashes country-wide. Nothing less.
OK – They don't get it. The U.S.A. is bankrupt. We are printing money to pay their bloated salaries and every one else in Washington while they keep sending our taxes back to their supporters so they can get back to the capitol to play the game again. Enough. Get Involved. Support your Tea Party Members! Let's go people – take your country back.
+
Agreed. While a third party might sound appealing, the most efficient way to win this political war, at least in my opinion, is to overturn, undercut, and ultimately replace the GOP members who will not get with the program of cutting spending and Government over reach. Why fight two political parties that want to maintain the status quo, when one can be reformed, leaving only one party to fight?
This past election cycle was a mighty good start on challenging the entrenched political machine, pre-primaries through the general election. It worked very well. Now, hold the elected to their promises.
The corrupting influences on the politicos will not be undone in one election cycle, or two. The need to monitor and offer guidance to those we elect to office is not over just because a majority of new blood was sent to public office. The effort will be ongoing, and an eight year term limit would nip the taste for, along with the corrupting influence and familiarity for power in the bud.
722 days to write, to call and to try to remind the elected of the will of those they represent. The state of the Republic did not arrive at this point in one or two election cycles. This effort did not end on 03Nov. It will not be done on 06Nov2012.
If DeMint goes for banning all earmarks, he's going to lose and the RINOs have cover. They can all vote the way we want them to vote, look like they are on the Tea party's side, and still be assured, because of the democratic majority, that they keep their earmarks. He's attempting to clean house by doing it this way because it will expose the RINOs to us and we'll know who to vote out next time. The man is a genius, if you ask me.
Because the Republicans are only the minority- they don't have the votes to apply the ban to everybody.
Actually, "rules" of the House and Senate are not like legislation. The power for how the Legislature conducts its business is vested in the Congress. There are super majority requirements in order to change the "rules," but they are not subject to presidential veto.
Keep firing them until they get a clue.
Really? How does wanting to ban ALL earmarks make you a RINO? Not exactly a genius move if that's his goal.
—
You obviously haven't been coming here long if you think the Republican establishment is a loved entity. You earn those negatives by making such a baseless statement, not because everyone here is enamoured with Republcans.
Soros funded troll alert!
Their new mantra is the R's and D's are the same and they are openly now calling for a third party.
Nice try, "emptyhead"
which mean they aren't serious, and as I said, “you are being scammed by your own party”. Gee, that's never happened before, has it?
—
Oh, I'm a BIG DeMint fan. And I trust him more than any RINO that opposes him. I'm just more focused on the House rules, where the Tea Party now has a real and powerful presence, enough to influence rules changes that would apply to both parties equally.
Question for all:
Would you support a law that reduced Social Security benefits only for Republicans just to make a point that we need to get our fiscal house in order?
No they aren't serious – as a group. We are working on that and these things take time.
DeMint however is serious and it is him and people like him who need our support.
That is my point.
Jesus Christ, cut the Federal Budget in half first.
The Earmarks will take care of themselves if the Government has no Money to spend on them.
Willful is the term often applied to children who through their bullheaded obstinate refusal to see, damn the torpedoes and continue on their way, full speed ahead…
McConnell, Alexander, Inhofe, Cochran, Shelby and Wicker, apparently think the same as most of the Democrats and the scolding entertainment clique. And that is they believe we are too ignorant to understand the necessity of spending and growing the Government all while the economy has augured in and the need to fund the government has sucked the life from the taxpayers.
Repeal 17A and introduce a public office term limit of eight (8) years.
Digging the ticks out will take the patience of Job.
Write a Bio doc an tell us a little of yourself?
None of these senators who support earmarks were up for reelection in 2010. Just how many of them will survive the primaries in 2012 & 2014? You shouldn't have to take of your mittens to count them all.
Perhaps I wasn't clear. I did not say, nor do I think, that wanting to ban all earmarks makes you a RINO. I suspect Senator DeMint would like to ban all earmarks, I would like to see that happen too. I am saying that if he goes after banning them all right now, that those that are RINO's can hide behind a vote to ban them, since they know it will not pass because the democrats are in the majority and will stop it. Doing it this way, puts them on the spot, and shows us who, among the Republicans, are not willing to let go of their earmarks.
Earmarks are a symptom of votes for sale. Need a vote for a piece of legislation? Attach an earmark to it. The rep who's district will benefit will then vote for the legislation. The earmark doesn't even have to be attached to the bill being considered. It can be attached to another bill. This then insulates the rep from seeming to be influenced by the earmark. He/she can now vote his/her "principles".
The ugly cousin to earmarks is attaching a piece of crap legislation that wouldn't pass muster on it's own to a major piece of legislation in order to get it passed. The attached legislation doesn't even have anything to do with the bill being voted on.
This sh*t has to stop!
One thing John Boehner and the House Republican Leadership could do, if they really mean what they say, is to have the house pledge to reject all legislation in both bicameral joint and conference committees, which contain earmarks.
Good point. To all in favor of the ban on earmarks for REPUBLICANS ONLY, would you be in favor of reducing Medicare or Social Securitiy benefits for REPUBLICANS ONLY, just to prove a point that we need to cut spending? I think it is a wrong headed effort.
Apart from their 'stated' ideology, the R's and D's are the same – using government as a means to advance their own personal power and ambitions.
It's amazing that some of these RINO's don't get it. The Nov 2 election was not a mandate for Republicans to do as they wish. It was a mandate to stop unnecessary spending. My wife has been out of work now for sometime and we had to give up things that we enjoyed in our daily lives but not necessary for survival. Damn it I expect our Government to do the same. I am watching all congressmen from Utah closely on this. So far all have voted yes to stop earmarks.
I love it,………
Testing the resolve of the Tea Party Movement,……….
right from the get go.
This little debate will help shape the agenda,………….
for the coming January session.
I have already sent a message to the Chicago Tea Party folks,………
to get a hold of other area Tea Party organizers,…..
in case we have to take to the streets to show our support for Jim DeMint.
Just ask Nelson from Nebraska,……..
You have been doing a lot of bullseyeing lately there pnipni.
WRONG ANSWER ASSCLOWNS !!……….your time is up, the people have spoken and you were not listening
Too right, Harry. Too right! It looks like we've got the weasels cornered in the RSC. All the easier to target them for removal. Jim DeMint is a real patriot for standing up to these vermin. He needs our support. Sign up for his newsletter if you don't already get it!
http://senateconservatives.com/site
I'll tell you like I told Empty……go take your 3rd party BS somewhere else, no one here is interested.
You know what, docneaves? I just read another article on BigGovernment that says the ballots will be secret!
http://biggovernment.com/publius/2010/11/14/glenn...
Kinda puts the kibosh on my thoughts, doesn't it? I'll join you in wondering what's up, I guess.
The train wreck is leaving the station.
How many pundits out there have declared that the GOP did not win a mandate in November of 2012? They were given a last chance to scale back the size and scope of government.
The GOP is on the way to superfluity.
America wants conservatism right now. Why is that so hard for politicians to see?
Before you can meaningfully criticize the Democrats for taking them you must first exercise the self-discipline not to do so yourself. Crawl, walk, run, etc. Some just don't ralize they're on double secret probation.
If there is someone who "Doesn't Get It" it's the Tea Party. Apparently many of you are under the delusion that we won the elections. In four of the six Tea Party senate elections we lost (Buck, O'Donnell, Miller and Angle vs Paul and Rubio). As far as both wings the Big Government Party is concerned they were able to defeat us two thirds of the time. They know that if they continue to work together by having the Republican wing blast Tea Party candidates in the primaries and using the full power of the Democratic wing's inner city political machines in the fall, they can beat back almost any challenge.
The Big Government Party was wounded, but hardly beaten. This wasn't the end of the war, it was merely the early party of D-Day where we landed some troops. The real fighting hasn't even begun yet. Now is the time to invade the local party gatherings. We can't let two Republicans get together unless one of them is from the Tea Party. Every time a politician votes for more spending he has to see a demonstration in front of his home or office, preferably both. He needs to know that his constituents are ready to toss him out and he needs to be reminded of it every day.
Insulated by the Washington echo chamber he doesn't really believe that less spending is a realistic idea. His entire world is one of unimaginable wealth limited only by your hard work.
