Majority Leader Reid: ‘We Will Have a Public Option’

Speaking at the Netroots Nation conference in Las Vegas, Reid promised the left wing bloggers that “we will have a public option. Its just a matter of when.”
For those who think that the healthcare battle is over, this should be a wake up call. Until the most onerous portions of Obamacare are repealed, they will keep chipping away until they get what they really want—British style single payer government run healthcare.
This week, we’ve been reporting on the FDA’s attempt to de-label the drug Avastin for late stage breast cancer patients. This case provides valuable insights into how things are going to work.
With absolute control over every process, the government will be free to replace the judgments of patients and doctors with the whims of bureaucrats and government bean counters.

The first order of business for the new Congress in January should be to defund the healthcare bill and start crafting the repeal. There will be no chance that Oblahblah will sign a repeal, so defunding is the only option until January 2012. A concurrent line of business will be to cut taxes and rescind the Financial Reform Act. These have to be priorities to get the country moving. Other blanket destructive laws should be reviewed and rescinded as well.

I think we all know the public option is what they wanted all along. This is no surprise. It's just a "pisser" we had the media carrying the left's "water" all the way through it which allowed them to lie all the way through this process. If the lies weren't carried, we would have had probably 80% of America against this health care debacle instead of just 60%.
I think that defunding is occurring as we live and breathe. Personal foreclosure is up, commercial real estate foreclosure is rising as well. Unemployment is still high and projected to rise. Deflation is on the immediate horizon, and nanoseconds later, inflation will rocket through the roof. All things will be defunded then. The tax income this year will be miniscule compared to last year. I think this is what the progressives have been after.

During the run up to the health care bill, we were told time and again by these statists that this wasn't an effort to institute single-payer. President Obama himself said “If you like your health care plan, you can keep your health care plan.” The leftists lectured us and insulted us, for saying what everyone knew was the truth: that this was only the first step to single payer.

I think that a campaign that runs with the express purpose of reversing every one of Beloved Leaders executive orders will have some traction. Combine that with a re-taken House to stop funding for any of the bills passed under the current Regime, and I see the beginnings of a viable ticket for 2012.

I think there are also provisions that allow for race based outcomes — which means disproportionately more and more money will be spent on black and other minority treatment until life expectancies and survival rates are equal. Eg, more whites will be allowed to die of prostate cancer until blacks have an equal survival rate, regardless of lifestyle choices, monitoring self, etc.

The message will have to be succinct and not perceived as an attack so much as a correction. That would take the progressive “Poor me, poor you” retort out of play. They will still use it as it has been effective for them in the past. If the message is delivered regarding a return of liberty to the people, it will be all over but the swearing in. We want smaller government, lower taxes, strong defense, and a government that operates with common sense, integrity, and good judgment.

Could very well be. October will be the start of the fourth quarter. August counts will be in and solid by mid September. I believe that unemployment numbers will go up in September as the Census jobs will be over in August and the students will be back to school. With foreclosures up in private and commercial real estate, and new housing starts are slow, the durable goods market is weakened severely. People may be spending money but only on necessities. I do believe that November will be a very bad month economically and there really isn't anything we can do about it. I don't believe it will be a double dip recession. I don't think we ever completely climbed out of the recession to begin with. This will be a deeper dive and a subsequent long term economic disaster.

According to the current news, new housing starts have already dropped a little over 4%. Haven't seen how the automobile or new appliance purchases are going yet, but they are the real indicators of a viable market.
