Sen. Corker vs. Tea Party Activists
by Capitol ConfidentialConservative talk radio in Memphis is calling for the firing of the staff member of Sen. Bob Corker who demeaned and belittled Tea Party activists in the Volunteer State calling them “sad” and “creepy” when they visited the office protesting Corker’s support for establishing a permanent bailout fund for companies “too big to fail.”
Corker is leading the charge for a “bipartisan” deal on so-called financial reform legislation that will create bailouts as far as the eyes can see, create a new regulators for small businesses (that had nothing to do with creating the crisis) and empowering big labor with shareholder proxy provisions aimed at undermining private company policy decisions. The House passed version of the bill authorizes the Federal Reserve to spend up to $4 trillion for bailouts. The Senate version is a blank check.
Attitudes are set at the top of the organization.
Compare the response to Sen. Collins staff when Tea Party activists visited their offices this week to the smugness of the Corker organization. We fear that the attitude of the staff member is a symptom of a larger disease that is prevalent in the Corker office.
Corker’s staff may not like it, but, according to Gateway Pundit, it looks like they’re going to get another visit from the tea party today.

I have missed you all too, immensely. I have missed participating the past two weeks in the Circus Maximus. I have been busy. Spring work is here. Daylight to dark. I'll check in whenever I can. It is hard being off the radar, and not being caught on current events, especially for someone like me who likes to stay informed. Alot can change in the course of 24 hours; in two weeks time, I'm really out of the loop, and playing catch up.
I do see that Blagovich is wanting Obama to testify at his trial. That would be comedy relief…………

I'm not from Tennessee but I was in Corker's D.C. office last month (this seems to refer to an office in Memphis). I am surprised that someone like this gets to represent him to those who pay his salary, since I didn't see anything like that in D.C.
They don't seem to realize that the Tea Party types are just as willing to turn an ineffective, arrogant Republican out of office as they are for a similar Democrat. Neither party deserves any loyalty after what we have dealt with for the last two decades.

The Tea Party Movement will remember this. We are not as this fool described us. We are only wanting our constitution upheld, taxes lowered and our defense strong. Probably will never happen under this administration. If that makes us "sad" and "creepy," so be it! Get rid of all rinos and dems. Our country is under attack from within and it isn't the tea party people doing the attacking.
Staff and assistants mirror the attitude of the person they report to. Corker sets the tone with his staff, they reflect how he feels about his constituency. Arrogance is a character flaw, it has no place in an elected official. The elected need to remember who it is that elected them and who it is that will replace them. The anger is building, it will not subside. Each passing day reveals more arrogance and incompetence. Each day people are losing their jobs, yet the public sector keeps theirs. The local government cannot seem to understand you can't spend what you do not have. Courts tell city and state government they have to honor union contracts, but how can you honor a contract when you have no revenue because the business' that actually produce goods and services have closed or reduced their employees. It is like the perpetual motion machine….it dosen't exist.
Where way passed that mattering anymore – consider the whole show over – and act accordingly, as much as I disagree with I wouldn't want you to suffer needlessly.

Here here. It is time to remove all corrupt politicians and any ones that have been there more then to terms. It is also time we the people enforce term limits on the politicians by exercising our own right vote.

I don't think the senator despises you. But I think there has to be room in any political group for honest disagreement. You can't make ever single issue a loyalty test or soon you will have no human beings left in your movement.

Corker has got to go. Most of his staff has this attitude. In contacting their office, I've found their staff to lie, obfuscate, or even argue. But note, when my family or I have called about an issue of a particular piece of legislation, they never ask for a name or address, meaning, they could care less.
Now, if you're from the financial industry, Corker's office might not find you so creepy. WItness Corker's attempt to sell a meal with him for $10,000 per plate to Wall Street executives, that is, until the Politico found out.
Sounds like Corker is in for a tough re-election battle!

A certain breed is attracted to the position. There are people whose main objective in life is to control as much and as many as they can. It's a natural conclusion that these people would infiltrate government.
We need term limits. We need to shrink their paychecks down to an amount that they can live on but no one should ever get rich from holding a government position. Take away the money incentive and you get elected officials who are there to serve not to grab.
BTW, who gave Congress such a big payday, and their full salary for a pension in perpetuity and their lavish health care etc. etc.? Why they did it for themselves, of course!
