Hey, Speaker Pelosi, Where Are the Jobs?
by Capitol ConfidentialIn August 2003, then-Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi issued a press statement demanding to know from President Bush, “Where Are the Jobs?” The statement was released in response to the monthly Bureau of Labor Statistics jobs report, which, at that time showed that over 400,000 Americans had given up looking for work and had left the labor force. It should be noted that today, every job measurement she cited is worse now than it was in 2003. We must have overlooked her similar question for President Obama.

From Pelosi’s statement:
Washington, D.C. — House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today on the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ announcement that 470,000 people abandoned their job searches in July and that 3.2 million private sector jobs have been lost since President Bush took office:
Of course, in December 2009, almost twice as many (929,000) had “abandoned their job searches” on Speaker Pelosi’s watch and with a Democrat in the White House.
“The fact is that President Bush’s misguided economic policies have failed to create jobs. Since President Bush took office, the country has lost 3.2 million jobs, the worst record since President Hoover. And today we learned that in July nearly half a million people gave up looking for a job.
Between January 2001 (132.469 million) and July 2003 (129.864 million), the U.S. actually lost 2.6 million payroll jobs. However, that pales in comparison with the 3.4 million jobs lost since Barack Obama became President (134.333 million in January 2009 versus 130.910 million in December 2009), giving President Obama the “worst record since President Hoover.”
“Job losses are taking a real toll on the financial security of American families. While Democrats are fighting for opportunity, jobs, and economic security for working families, Republicans continue to focus on helping those who need help the least.
“According to today’s survey, while the national unemployment rate dropped slightly, it still stands at a near record high.
Despite the Pelosi’s claim, the 6.2% unemployment rate in July 2003 was nowhere close to a “record high”. In fact, the 6.2% July 2003 unemployment rate wasn’t uncommon at all. Between January 1948 (when official data began) and July 2003, a full 208 out of 667 months (31%) saw an unemployment rate of 6.2% or higher. Unfortunately for today’s workers, the 10% unemployment rate in December 2009 reflects much greater and more exceptional pain – a level reached in only 10 months before this recession (or in 1.4% of all months between 1948 and 2008).
In addition, the unemployment rate for African Americans was still over 11 percent in July, and the unemployment rate for Hispanics was 8.2 percent in July.
The current African American (16.2%) and Hispanic (12.9%) unemployment rates are far higher than the levels in July 2003.
It is time for President Bush and the Republicans to get to work for all Americans, not just the elite few.”
So, exactly whom have President Obama and the Democrats been working for? If President Bush and the Republicans actually were working for ‘just the elite few’ as Pelosi contends, it seems like it might not have been a bad strategy. At the very least, the prospects of finding a job were certainly much brighter.

There will be no jobs, we know that that is the purpose of this administration.
I will tell you where the jobs are. Currently 8 million jobs are occupied by illegal aliens, while 15 million law abiding citizens are unemployed. If Obama, Reid and Pelosi wanted to "create jobs" they would start to enforce our immigration laws instead of pushing for amnesty for illegal aliens.
Jobs? Jobs would make us self reliant, they can't have that now can they. We're being punished for tolerating a constituency of imbeciles.
Once I built a railroad
I made it run
I made it run against time
Once I built a railroad
But now it's done
Hey, buddy … can you spare a dime?
The working class has been deemed more of a threat to the US than radical muslims. Forcing them to be dependent on government is the first step in suppressing them them, disarming will be next and turning our children against their own parents will soon follow.
You are correct. I think the adminstration has been silent as to the 2nd Amendment on purpose. If it gets health care and cap and trade, say goodbye to your guns next.
The more people that are out of work the more they depend on the government to provide "subsidies" to them. The longer they remain on this "subsidy" the more it becomes an entitlement. When the government appears to meeting and fulfilling this entitlement those government dependant people like what the government is doing for them…which translates to votes. The incidious suppression of the people leads to …… socialism!
No new jobs will be created unless they are government or union jobs. How do I know this? Why in the world would an administration that hates capitalism and the private sector create jobs that aren't government or union?
Be on guard in the coming months on this issue. Many know that the stimulus funds from last year have not been used. There is a reason for this and it is b/c 2010 is an election year. Pelosi and the rest of the DC cronies will begin tapping more and more of the stimulus and create a" jobs bubble" to gain public support for re-election. Do not be fooled if the employment and financial numbers begin to get better. Its nothing but a ploy to get votes. You must make everyone you know aware of this LIE that will show its head in the coming months. Once again a game being played with your life by individuals who have nothing but contempt for ALL OF YOU
America you continue playing their game doing the same things over and over again. You look insane and are being laughed at by the leftist radicals and progressives. Or, come out of your shell, cross the line within yourself and TAKE BACK AMERICA through Saving the Republic

Cloward – Piven! Cloward-Piven! This objective is to provide you sustenance (welfare check) in exchange for your vote. You get to sit on the couch and do crack if you vote for the democrats. Just look at the blacks. This is their strategy to control and solidify the democrats power base for decades.
They don't want jobs.
They wany everyone sucking on the government teat.
Let's all agree to stop pretending that the Democrats have any moral authority whatsoever, OK?
We can all work for Pelosi, doesn't she need about 200 people everytime she travels somewhere??
More like a queen termite on Botox.
There is a certain economic plus side to some of those illegal aliens. While I agree that everyone in the US should be here legally, the economic reality is that as long as they are illegal, they can be paid below minimum wage for a lot of jobs that, frankly, a lot of those out of work Americans just won't do. A lot of migrant workers, farm workers, and general "ditch diggers" (for lack of a better phrase) are done by those here illegally. The employers know they can use them dirt cheap, which translates to cheaper produce, etc… So the economic effect would be that we would all be paying more for a lot of produce were it not for the "cheap" labor force. Not saying it's right, but that's what happens.
The job bubble will consist of temporary, low paying positions and will most likely be associated with government and under their control.
Excellent! ;^)
I'm sure there are a lot of jobs being paid for by the current government. They fall into two categories:
1. Smear jobs.
2. "Jobs" describing assorted sexual activities.
A woman like Piglosi who owns slaves is very dangerous. She is a powerful evil entity who is driven by her delusions and nothing will stop her except for political annihilation. She doesn't care about race or muslim terrorists or the unemployed. She wakes up every morning and plots financial events that will make her richer.
Does she know that Lucifer doesn't need her money? Does she know that she can't be the queen of hell? I think he forgot to tell her after she sold her soul.
Illegals ( I refuse to call them immigrants as they are thieves and law breakers)are future democrat votes, the BO admin. will never alienate them. Pun intended, as disgusting as it is…
i wish Pelosi went to michael jacksons doctor for her botox
Nasty visual isn't it, for that I apologize.
The jobs are going to the underground cash/barter economy for those who want to work, stay off the dole, and take care of themselves and their families, plus avoid unjust and punitive taxes and union shake down. Don't throw your tools away America. Drop out and work for yourself quietly.
I find it amusing that all the little trolls that come here are no where to be found when it comes to this type of report. It is impossible to defend this nonsense or try and twist it into something different, so they are mute. This idiocy of the lizard lady (sorry, I know it's childish of me but really, is she not a lizard?!) is laughable. I have to ask, does anybody take her seriously, really?
Companies that accept stimulus money to take on new hires place themselves under the thumb of the government, this will be a very dangerous place to be. Just ask any banker.
They are also hiring thugs.
Myself and many others I know have been "splitting revenues" between corporate legitimacy and cash for some time now. It IS the key to survival. Well said.
The problem with your thought is would you actually take a job an illegal alien has? They are not taking CEO, middle management or skilled jobs. They fill jobs as dish washers, manual laborers and such.
I do agree we need to stop the influx of illegals, tighten our borders and track down those in the country and send them home, but they are not taking the jobs Americans want.
Exactly…Nicely said!
Forgive a forgetful old guy. Can you remind me of more details of the Cloward and Piven strategy? Thanks.
"….a lot of those out of work Americans just won't do."
That is bullshit, straight up. Maybe you feel such jobs are beneath you, but I guarantee, Americans who want to provide for their families, and are trying to keep their homes, will work just about any job, including digging a ******* ditch.
Strange how the neocons change their portrayal of the economy from a tanker slow to turn to a sport craft depending where they want to shift the blame. Bottom line is that NEITHER party will admit the truth – that our economy is based on PRODUCTION. You can't base an economy on consumption despite what the ivory-tower never-had-a-job types will tell you because they think it makes them sound clever. Raise tariffs – produce everything here! End NAFTA!
Those are the jobs so many of us started out in the workforce doing. I mowed lawns, pulled weeds, cleaned swimming pools, waited on tables, washed dishes, sorted garments and vacuumed floors, all before I graduated High School. I believe that doing work like that is an important part of building good character and should be available for our children to perform as first jobs. Perhaps they would have more determination and not expect high paying positions right out of school.
Those are not the only jobs they fill. I know two people, personally, who are here illegally, and they bring home over 5k per month. There are jobs being taken that Americans would do. Not those who feel they are above such work, but there are many Americans who would work any job neccessary to provide for their families.
Does it matter what kind of jobs they are stealing from American Citizens? Really…Where do you think they send all their "hard" earned cash once they have it? They send it back to the mother land, so more of the family can come over and reap the benefits. 'They' don't produce anything but cheap labor. They do not put back into society, they only take. They don't have an interest in anything relating to the desire to be an American, other than they know that where they came from is a whole helluva lot worse than it is here. Where would you rather be incarcerated? Mexico or the U.S.? The list goes on, but the fact of the matter is that these invaders are economic terrorists'…And we already have a path to citizenship. It's the called the Dept. of Naturalization. Anyone can sign up…!
Read this for a refresher. Good article!

The Entitlement Mentality regarding J.O.B.s This means Just Obout Broke!
Our unemployed electricians here in WI is about 25% or more! There aren’t any big projects on the drawing board…The Govt statistics is a huge lie!
When projects do start, it takes almost a year to need our skill. Nothing in politics happens by accident!
It should be clear to anyone with a mind and two eyes that this president and this Congress do not have our interests at heart. They are implementing this strategy on an unprecedented scale by flooding America with a tidal wave of poisonous initiatives, orders, regulations and laws. As Rahm Emmanuel said, “A crisis is a terrible thing to waste.” The real goal of “healthcare” legislation, the real goal of “cap and trade,” the real goal of “stimulus” is to rip the guts out of our private economy and transfer wide swaths of it over to government control.
Do not be deluded by the propaganda. These initiatives are vehicles for change. They are not goals in and of themselves, except in their ability to deliver power, and will make matters much worse, for that is their design. This time, in addition to overwhelming the government with demands for services, Obama and the Democrats are overwhelming political opposition to their plans with a flood of apocalyptic legislation. Their ultimate goal is to leave us so discouraged, demoralized and exhausted that we throw our hands up in defeat. As Barney Frank said “the middle class will be too distracted to fight.”
These people are our enemies. They don’t use guns, yet, but they are just as dangerous, determined and duplicitous as the communists we faced in the Cold War, Korea, Vietnam and bush wars across the globe, and the Nazis we faced in World War II. It is time we fully internalized and digested this fact, with all its ugly ramifications. These people have violated countless laws, and could be prosecuted, had we the political power. Not only are their policies unconstitutional, but deliberately so – the goal being to make the Constitution irrelevant.
Their spending is off the charts and will drive us into hyperinflation, but could be rescinded, had we the political power. These policies are toxic, but could be stopped and reversed, had we the political power. Their ideologies are poisonous, but could be exposed for what they are, with long jail sentences as an object lesson, had we the political power.
Every single citizen who cares about this country should be spending every minute of his/her spare time lobbying, organizing, writing and planning. Fight every initiative they launch. It is all destructive. If we are to root out this evil, it is critical that in 2010 we win competent, principled leaders willing to defend our constitution and our country. Otherwise the malevolent cabal that occupies the seat of government today will become too entrenched. After that all bets are off.
Cloward and Piven strategy
"BROTHER CAN YOU SPARE A DIME" ………………a very famous Depression era( 1931 ) song.
Just one wee nit pick…it's "brother" not buddy.
Another old song, "MY BUDDY", a 1922 song, may have thrown you off a bit; if you know both songs.
If you would be so kind as to post the full lyrics, ChileSerrano, it will be clear to everyone, not familiar with this song, which also includes lyrics about a soldier unable to now find a job, just how relevant this song is today.
I cant think of one thing i agree with nancy pelosi on, shes an embarassment, and shes the leader of the libs, what a f-ing joke
No apology necessary. The only apology I want is from Pelosi and her ilk but I know I will never receive it.
They take our money and spread it around as they will. Some us may have to take from the programs but most of us will remember and we DON'T SELL OUR VOTE. Look what it got our children who are just entering the workforce. Look what it got all the city dwellers. Look at the pain it is causing along with the debt! I have been talking to the young voters who drank the Kool-Aide. Many of them are wising up and sick to their stomachs now. The past year has been a lesson learned and will not be forgotten for many, many years. Come on November!
Raising tarrifs never solved anything. Give me concrete examples if you can. Being friendly to our own private busisnesses would turn the boat around, taking the tariffs our own government has placed on them would create jobs and keep us productive. Using our own resources, oil, gas, coal wood, minerals etc. would turn the boat around! There would be no need of NAFTA, then other countries would be coming to us for our goods.
Wisconsin is a business hell hole. They and the workers are leaving in droves. I will be moving next week. Looking at WI government proves that they have lost their brain trust.
Eerrily similar to "Hey Nancy Pelosi, WHERE ARE THE JOBS?" , is "LABOUR ISN'T WORKING", the most famous poster of the century, which is credited with catapulting Margaret Thatcher to the office of Prime Minister in 1978 See: . http://backspace.com/notes/2002/09/the-poster-tha...
Run the play til it quits working!…3 decades later. Billboards across America! ASAP.
Dick Morris what do you think?
I don't know why you are attacking me. This is the plain truth, like it or not. Since you don't know me you wouldn't know that I did some of those jobs growing up, and yes there are a lot of Americans that will do those jobs, but sadly enough, there a still a lot that won't. I don't like it any more than you do, but don't attack the messenger just because you don't like the message.
Can anyone say "Soft Tyranny"?
Soft Tyranny occurs before the despots come to major power, we are now officially under tyranny.
Honestly I have not seen any proof of this. It gets bantered about in the media a lot, but when push comes to shove, Americans will most definitely do the work. Where I live, teenagers will go to farms in the summer and bail hay or work in the orchards. Many are turned away because the jobs are filled by the migrant workers. So kids trying to work to earn money for college have to go compete for a job at McDonald's. As my Uncle says, when your belly is hittin your backbone, you will do what ever job comes your way, and be happy to have it. If there are Americans out there who won't do that work, it's only because there has been to much of a safety net and they haven't feared what is bound to come yet. The net will be pulled out from all of us, letting the illegals continue to work here illegally is only going to make it come sooner.
There are plenty of Americans who also can't fill a CEO, Middle Management or skilled job. They need unskilled jobs in order to stay off of government assistance. That's the whole idea isn't it. If we let them stay on assistance, we can count on them to continue to vote in politicians who will ensure they never have to take a job they don't like. Hate to break it to you, but the term "Work" is exactly what it is. It's not fun, it's not a hobby, it's work and it is there so we can provide for ourselves. There are many times in my life that I have had to work several jobs at once to make ends meet. You do what you have to, you learn what you can, and hopefully gain skills to help you do better in the future.
I've never debated the willingness of some Americans to do whatever it takes to get by. I've been there, and done that. But sadly there are still some that won't. I live near economically depressed sections of St Louis and there are those who would rather be on welfare than get a job. They are a drain on society, but they really don't care. It's "gimme my govment check" and screw you. You see them in virtually every major city in America. They come in all races and backgrounds, and they couldn't care less.
agree 100%……..Pelosi wants us all to start protituting ourselves on the streets like the whores in her District on North Beach SF……yeah she expects us to go under cover, collect govt subsidies like foodstamps, unemployemnt compensation, SSI, sect 8 housing, etc etc etc……..she wants to CONTROL everything you do.
great to see you back…..we missed you insightful blogs…..welcome back…….amen
1redcent: Glad you recognize the song. The lyrics as written may have said "brother", but the performance I learned the song from used "buddy" … and so did I when I used to play and sing it. Full song follows :
Once I built a railroad
I made it run
I made it run against time
Once I built a railroad
But now it’s done
Hey, buddy … can you spare a dime ?
Once I built a tower
Up to the sun
Of bricks and mortar and lime
Once I built a tower
But now it’s done
Hey buddy can you spare a dime ?
Once in khaki suits
(Gee! We looked swell!)
Full of that Yankee-Doodley-dum
A half-a-million boots went slogging through Hell
And I was the kid with the drum
Say! Don’t you remember?
You called me Al
It was Al all the time
Say don’t you remember?
I was your pal
Hey buddy can you spare a dime
Once I built a railroad
I made it run
I made it run against time
Once I built a railroad
But now it’s done
Buddy can you spare a dime ?
You are correct. There are to many people who just don't care. There was a program in Michigan for a while (during a Republican Governorship) that gave welfare recipients a time limit. I believe there benefits went down each year for 4 years until they were gone. During those years they had to show they were trying to get schooling or look for work. Not sure how the whole program was structured, but it was working and then….we got Granholm.
The original sheet music ( my grandmother had it and played the song on the piano, so I've known the song since I was a baby ) has "brother", not "buddy". I'm sorry about nit picking, but it's just something that drives me a bit nuts ( mangling original lyrics and/or music ), as I'm a stickler for accuracy. ;^)
Thanks for posting the full lyrics! It's a song which sadly, is now as current and relevant, as it was when it first came out.
Lets all pray that it doesn't take a full out world war to pull us out of this recession borsering on a depression, as it took to drag us out of the Great Depression !
Surprisingly, there are quite a lot of high-ranking government jobs still open. 0bama hasn't filled numerous political appointee jobs – I left USAID about 4 months ago – they only appointed a new director last week. It's only been a year since 0bama took over. If they just appointed the new USAID administrator, then there isn't a director of OFDA or any of the assistant administrators in other major directorates yet – and OFDA is the primary responder for disaster assistance around the world. I wonder how they're responding to the earthquake in Haiti right about now? Probably nowhere near as efficiently if they had an actual director, but luckily there are mechanisms in place for OFDA to dispatch a DART team to get the job underway. Still, the lack of these appointees is indicative of 0bama's lack of managerial expertise and zero leadership abilities.

I'm a mere 58, but also remember some "old time" melodies. Nice to speak to you again. Ray
I've got a few years on you, but still in the same ball park.
It used to be that everyone knew songs from different generations, because they were still played on the radio, were on T.V. shows, and people still gathered around pianos and had family sing-a-longs, which predates today's lousy, sloppy, drunken karaoke exercises in foolish/pathetic self aggrandizing.
Nice to "see"/"talk" with you again !
Yep, and last years songs are ancient history. One exception, many of the 60's oldies seem to jog a few minds of the mindless folks you refer to.
Hey, I am younger than both of you, great the song
One meat ball:
A little man walked up and down, He found an eating place in town,
He read the menu through and through, To see what fifteen cents could do.
One meatball, one meatball,
He could afford but one meatball.
He told the waiter near at hand, The simple dinner he had planned.
The guests were startled, one and all, To hear that waiter loudly call, "What,
"One meatball, one meatball?
Hey, this here cat wants one meatball."
The little man felt ill at ease, Said, "Some bread, sir, if you please."
The waiter hollered down the hall, "You gets no bread with one meatball.
"One meatball, one meatball,
Well, you gets no bread with one meatball."
The little man felt very bad, One meatball was all he had,
And in his dreams he hears that call, "You gets no bread with one meatball.
"One meatball, one meatball,
Well, you gets no bread with one meatball."
I loved that and one about "Salted Peanuts"
And today's "music" is just mostly noise…….so it's best forgotten!
Way back when, when you and I were in grtammar school, there was music class and children learned "old" songs. It was part of what bound all Americans together; a shared culture. America is so bifurcated/Balkanized today, it's as though America has NO culture at all.
Why would kids of today know any old '60s songs?
LOL……………I used to love that song!
My mother would sing Hut-Sut Ralston, Three Little Fishies, and Mairzy Doats to me, when I was tiny tiny; great fun songs, that I now sing with my grandson.
I apologise if you took my vehemence as an attack. It certainly wasn't meant to be. What I was protesting was the ubiquitous statement: "a lot of those out of work Americans just won't do." We hear that drivel over and over again, but, for the most part, it just is not true. You say I don't know you, but I did read your profile, and I know enough from that to know that you have done a job that millions of Americans won't do- and that is serve our country. There are thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of teens and young twenty-somethings who would be happy to have a job- be it washing dishes or flipping burgers.
Two of my sons that also live here in Bangkok(23 and 25) are well versed on 60's music. They didn't have much choice as they were growing up but to listen in the car and home stereo. With the brain cells diminishing a little, they seem to know some of the lyrics better than I do. And, guess what, neither are PC. Musta done something right huh?
Raised my kid the same way, though not on '60s music; played and sang older stuff.
Sounds as though we both did the right thing for our kids, who are now adults. The best part of that is, they will do the same thing, with their kids!
I sing both of those to my grand kids. While my grandson was in the hospital and my daughter was resting, I would sing it and he loved it. My progressive son-in-law hated it. I sang it with the down in da middlo of a itty bitty poo, fwam fwee widdle fissies and a mama fissy too.
He hated baby talk, to a less than 1 day old baby and when they went home he would quite to the song.
I would also do Jesus wants me for a sunbeam and A your adorable, B your so beautiful also. And of course the plain old alphabet song.
My dad had a million old songs. cowboy joe, Breathless, some little bug's gonna find you some day ………
I liked back in the jungle too
My dad had all of those on the original vinyl.
My oldest son is trying to transfer them to CDs.
As a kid we used to sing all kinds of songs in the car while driving across country.
My dad could sing the whole song Breathless without one mistake. We would race through Cowboy Joe.
I continued it.
I don't believe in talking down to babies, but the Three Little Fishies song was originally for ADULTS and a fun song for everyone. Your s-i-l has a problem! LOL
Sounds as though we grew up with a whole lot of the same songs, even though you are younger.
All children love silly songs and songs with a good rhythm…..so sing away and don't forget nursery rhymes.
We all would sing together….on car trips and at my grandparent's home, with my grandma at the piano. I have very fond memories of that time and continued it with my family, who now continue it with theirs.
It's good to know that others did this too and that their kids continue with it.
I don't believe in talking down to babies either, but that song is so great when you ham it up. It sounds more like Mairzy Doats.
Oh my s-i-l has huge problems with me. He would read Sherlock Holmes to counteract my silliness. My grandson is flourishing in spite of my early interference. Lucky for him we like across the country, unlucky for me. Thank God for i-chat.
I can remember, vividly, when I was around 4 or 5, not really getting what Mairzy Doats really meant and my father then singing it very sssssllllllllloooooooooowly, so I could pick out the words. Then I laughed and laughed! And THAT is what parents and grandparents need to do…..make a child feel loved and included !
Your s-i-l read Sherlock Holmes stories to a tiny baby?
Glad to hear that your grandson is flourishing, though it's sadx when grandparents live far away; as you and I do.
Thank goodness for computers and video cams and the telephone!
Fer sure! Eight years of the Clinton administration gives her a lot of experience with disaster situations (cue rimshot).
And Slick Willy is also weighing in on this disaster. My bet is that he won't be going to Haiti though. Not enough sexy babes for him.
On a serious note, I'm here in Bangkok, Thailand and watching the continuous coverage on CNN International. It is an absolute disaster. These folks just can't seem to get a break. I hope the world comes out in force like they did with the Tsunami here and provide big time relief to these poor souls.
Only one grandchild so far. He's only 6 months old. Suppose I should get started?
End welfare……….The Democrat losers will work when they get hungry. As for illegals………………..NO food stamps, welfare, health care, social services. TFB. Keep your polio, TB, and overbreeding in Mexico.
"The problem with your thought is would you actually take a job an illegal alien has?"………………..End welfare and food stamps, and many will return to the work force, Glad to help.
Hello………………………………Hello……………………………Listen up, idiot taxpayers! The ONLY jobs that are important are gubment union jobs because they will vote Democrat. Piss on the private sector! Now pay your taxes or you bees racist! You bees the enemy! Thank you, REV WrightM
Can you say 'Cloward and Piven strategy?' If they are successful Pelosi will be the Queen Bee and that is the point.
Another one, for old time's sake …
Or would you like to swing on a star
Carry moonbeams home in a jar
You could be better off than you are
Or would you rather be a fish
A fish won't do anything, but swim in a brook
He can't write his name or read a book
To fool the people is his only thought
And though he's slippery, he still gets caught
But then if that sort of life is what you wish
You may grow up to be a fish
And all the monkeys aren't in the zoo
Every day you meet quite a few
So you see it's all up to you
You could be better than you are
You could be swingin' on a star
Pelosi is to politics, as Gloria Alred is to lawyers.
There ARE NO jobs. Government does NOT CREATE jobs. They merely take money away from the private sector in the form of higher taxes, and redistribute to those who would vote for democrats (unions, etc.). The "stimulus" money that is left over from the massive bailout of incompetently run companies that was never spent is actually a slush fund for demokratic candidates.
welcome to obamaland
we dont need no stinkin yobs…………. we got obozo welfare and obozo healthcare coming
High unemployment is actually good for the Dems as long as they can blame it on somebody else. When something happens that it becomes their fault, then they'll work at ignoring it. Of course popular culture will support them in this and that has been all it has taken.
