The White House pegged controversial designer Simon Doonan to oversee the Christmas decorations for the White House. Mr. Doonan, who is creative director of Barney’s New York has often caused a stir with his design choices. Like his naughty yuletide window display of Margaret Thatcher as a dowdy dominatrix and Dan Quayle as a ventriloquist’s dummy. For this year’s White House, he didn’t disappoint.
These photos of ornaments on the White House Christmas tree in the Blue Room were taken just days ago. Of course, Mao has his place in the White House.
And, of course, it wouldn’t be Christmas without an ornament of legendary transvestite Hedda Lettuce.

Barack Obama (and wife) said in campaign last year that they didn't celebrate Christmas and so far, they've proven that they don't.
What they appear to celebrate is the antithesis of Christmas and nearly anything supportive and enthusiastic about the U.S.A. and it's citizens.

Letters and emails are essential but they are not enough. You have to have a presence. If every concerned American made this public discourse a part of their life, say…an hour per week, the efforts could be divided up among us.
I have a good friend who writes polite letters to military officers at our local bases about not acting on illegal orders to suppress Americans on our soil. He addresses other related issues as well. (Imagine if your local base commander received several thousands of these a month…) He has also requested meetings with officers on several occasions, where he briefly and politely outlined his concerns and asked for assurances–as a citizen.
These are the peaceful efforts needed to effect meaningful change and without them, I fear we are headed for an eventual un-civil citizen response.
Why is this so unbelievable? Find the ones you like, support them. If you can't or don't want to donate money, volunteer time. Work the phones. Get the information out there. Hell, a lot of its already out there on the web. Start a blog over at one of the free sites. Discuss political issues, possible candidates, compare and contrast.
In other words, educ ate the unwashed masses.
