Exclusive: Audio From ACORN Claims Jerry Brown Will Whitewash Investigation

Lagstein is ACORN’s chief organizer in the San Diego area. The meeting was held at Coco’s Restaurant, a very public venue. Because of ACORN’s close ties to the Democrat party, Mr. Lagstein clearly felt he was among friends. These two clips suggest the investigation of ACORN announced by California Attorney General Jerry Brown already has a pre-determined outcome.

Lagstein notes that the Attorney General is a “political animal.” He states that he has been in communication with Brown’s office and assures the crowd that “the fault WILL be found with the people that did the video — not ACORN.”
If that’s true, then the fix is in and Brown’s investigation is just a scam on the public. But, targeting the filmmakers will also put Brown’s office in an especially difficult position. Just today, we learn that one of Jerry Brown’s chief aides secretly recorded phone conversations with at least 5 reporters. We’ll see if Brown believes the law applies to his staff as well as the young filmmakers.

FYI, in a radio interview up here in San Fransisco, Jerry Brown already answered the question of whether or not he thought his employee broke the law by secretly recording conversations. . If I understood him correctly, he claims that since the conversation was with a reporter, there was no presumption of privacy, so the law was not broken. He did say it was a "office policy violation" though.
Now, I can see why the person being interviewed (the one who was doing the recording) wouldn't have a presumption of privacy when talking with the press, but I can't see why the press person himself (the actual victim if you believe this sort of thing is a crime) would not have a right to expect his end of the conversation was private.
Still, you have your answer. Jerry Brown has a ready excuse for the behavior of his staff but I imagine that won't stop him from hassling James and Hannah with the same law if it suits his purpose.
This doesn't surprise me one iota. Jerry Brown is one of THEE most liberal bent minded persons on earth in my estimation. His shenanigans have been many and spanning decades here in California with varying degrees of ruthlessness and cold blooded in their calculation. The bottom line is that this country simply cannot afford to pay for the extravagent retirement benefits of the unionized State employee. It will be interesting to see what happens when they get cut off, which, sooner or later, they will. They are a major part of the resaon why CA, NJ, and NY are in so much trouble right now. I am sorry, but the average State employee simply does not produce enough during their career to justify their benefits which is why they simply cannot be sustained. Simple math – period!
