BREAKING: ACORN’s New Orleans Office Raided by Louisiana Attorney General

In a fast-breaking development comes word that agents of the Attorney’s General office in Louisiana have raided ACORN’s offices in New Orleans. ACORN’s New Orleans was, for decades, the headquarters of the national community organizing association. News of the raid comes from Marcel Reid and her colleagues at ACORN 8, an association of former ACORN leaders and board members. Many of the individuals involved with ACORN 8 were fired from ACORN for demanding a forensic audit following an embezzlement scandal involving Dale Rathke, brother of ACORN co-founder Wade Rathke.

Update: Big Government has contacted the Louisiana Attorney’s General office. We are told that all of the press officers are “out to lunch” right now. We have been promised a return call later this afternoon.
According to NOLA.com:
Attorney General Buddy Caldwell has served a search warrant at the ACORNoffice at 2609 Canal Street, according to Tammi Arender Herring, a spokeswoman with the office.
Investigators in khaki pants and polo shirts loaded several dozen computers and other electronic items into an SUV. They are also carrying records out of the building on handcarts.
The large office building sits at the corner of Dorgenois and Canal. ACORN staffers were given no notice that a search would be conducted today, Herring said.

Caldwell said investigators will copy records and hard drives, then return them to ACORN.
He said the original allegations of embezzlement were made last year by ACORN board members who were fired after they asked for a forensic examination of the group’s books.
ACORN fired the longtime director of its Louisiana chapter last month, citing a lack of accountability.

1) Obama and Holder warned ACORN a month ago that there would be "fake" photo-op raids and to hurry up and clean up all documents and files.
2) After ACORN completely destroyed all evidence they called obama and holder to send the goons.
3) Now the goons will investigate and will come up with absolutely nothing (because it has already been destroyed)
4) ACORN and Obama will be able to publically say, "See, the raids did not uncover anything so ACORN is not a corrupt organization so we therefore are letting them off the hook"
5) Funding will resume and the American tax payer will once again be fleeced while ACORN and the Obama administration continue their corruption.
Why do I believe this? Because Obama needs to get ACORN back up and running in time for the 2010 elections. The fact that ACORN was knocked down a few notches while everyone was watching cost Obama the governorships of Virginia and New Jersey. This is the central part of crime headquarters. They do the money laundering. They did the illegal transfer from non profits to the Democrat political side. HDQ set up accounts to pay workerts and run real estate in other cities. Dirty Bertha wasn't the true top power figure. The "audit" also wasn't really done near her and for her board because they had an internal company that does banking, treasure, accounts payable etc. They got the headquarters cell. The IRS would have eventually raided them also. The millions of non payment of employee withholdings was centered out of NOLA.

912 Cindy. I do pay my taxes. If you have ever been audited you'll agree that it's very time consuming and can be stressful. The year I was audited I had paid $210,000.00 in taxes, this was 20 years ago. Now if you have to supply ALL the records for those kind of taxes – then it's a real pain.

Finally. Why did it take so long? Also, I understand that Acorn has started receiving Federal Grant Money again from the government. They only stopped payments for October. So, they are getting our tax money again. I would have never believed such corruption could exist in the U.S., it's pretty depressing. We need more people with the ability and authority, such as this DA's office, to stand up and start cleaning house. This is definitely a step in the right direction and it's what We the People want.
