However, they have developed a new tool of misinformation — “Language Tips on Employee Free Choice.”

This is refreshing. No no no. We know Stern is crooked every which way.
It's not even Christmas yet and the leaks from inside SEIU are beginning to trickle out. I remember how so many yipping yapping shills from Team Soros were salivating over visions of Rove being frog-walked in front of the White House lawn.

Recently I was explaining to a very nice 20-something employee of Publix that the reason we choose Publix over Kroger is that Kroger is Union. During our conversation I mentioned union dues, and his response was "You have to PAY to be in a union?"
Union bosses want this legislation for one thing and one thing only: more union members to day more union dues.
Unions have destroyed every enterprise they have taken over. No wonder they are now so desperate to get more and more new members. If they want to destroy the private entreprises they work for and suck the life out of before they die it is one thing.
But their worst offense and the SEIU is number one here is taking over TAX PAYER FUNDED enterprises like public workers whose insatiable demands for more money, more benefits, lifetime reimbursements and cast iron job security has destroyed the very heart of America.
Card check cannot pass. It is handing a gun to the head of all taxpayers and asking taxpayers to shoot themselves. SEIU is the worst. Their only goal is to suck taxpayers blind. Do not let this happen.

Reading this stuff IS like listening to an Obama speech, true. The spin machine has everyone on board.
One of the SEIU's goals is to increase membership/collection of dues through sign up of illegal immigrants. Imagine sending thugs out to "instruct" (intimidate) illiterate immigrants on how to complete the card check form- very likely scene.
Our best chance is to remove their sympathizers from Congress in Nov. 2110. Our next step must be to remove their electoral benefactor from the White House in Nov. 2112. BHO is as much a part of SEIU/ACORN as Andy Stern, et al. Their ultimate goal is to overwhelm the system, unionize all industries in the USA and internationally- in the name of "social justice".

As trygore said, most people don't know exactly how much they are paying for dues. When I was on desk duty after knee surgery, I had to do payroll, I got to really see what went where. Not only do you have the flat due, you give them an increased % of your overtime (i.e. 1-5hrs=5% of the $ amount you made of the overtime, 10-15hrs overtime=10%, 15-20hrs=20%). They also set you up to "make donations" to the unions favorite community organizations, in my departments case ACORN & about 5 of its sub-entities (there are many donations that were to legitimate cause like the American Cancer Society) , directly out of your pay check. And if you get a pay raise, you pay a higher due. Also remember, the unions get paid by companies to "have the privilege of the union there to fairly represent their workers".
When I think it can'r get any worse it does.
We can't recognize our country and OBAMA or Osama (do we really know who he is and why he wants to put this country on it's knees???) had just begun…Any wonder what our country is going to look like a yar from now?

Americans are truly frightened by the left vision in our government. There is truly massive injustice when our elected leaders can stand on the senate floor and represent foreign interests rather than those they should be advocating for.
We have been the villain for every conceivable horror on this planet. This is an excuse for other nations to lie, distort and to control and manipulate us to their own ends. We help everyone around the world and what do we get!
There is not a group of people that has not been kicked around. Just look at historical data.
Americans are the most generous of persons, yet our government continues to permit the alignment and scorn of Americans. We are forced to endure Mexicans and other illegals from south of our border to demand that we change our laws to cater to them. In Harris County, Texas, a person must speak Spanish to qualify for a job with the county. Now we have our elected leaders campaigning for so-called immigration reform, which is a blank check for those criminals to operate with impunity and to continue to subvert honest citizens with their whining rhetoric. They will not stand as adults and advocate for change in their native lands, which were stolen from natives; they would rather come here and bully Americans and our government aids them. If brave people can stand and force democracy and social change in the former Soviet-bloc occupied countries,against war lords on the African continent, and in the Mideast, then those Hispanics and Latinos have no right to make a comparison between the lawlesssness south of our border to the Berlin Wall. This is is beyond contempt and they are definitely not the people I want in my country.
The contempt of our government for its citizens is not new, it begins with the local level. We are subject to fines, tickets, fees. We are forced to pay taxes for government workers, and court costs and other such unnecessary and burdensome expenses. Why? If a government cannot function on tax revenue, then start cutting salaries and jobs. I had filed a suit and the judge and her staff were not satisfied until the case was dismissed " for lack of prosecution.." I had a staff member complain that no one wanted the case to be on the docket for several months and there was nothing I could do about it. This is what we receive for our court costs – lazy and dishonest people.
The amount of our foreign aid is mind-boggling. Former President Bush awarded Pakistan with 11 billion of our money and they did not do one damn thing to eliminate bin Laden or the Taliban/Al-Quada. Yet we have silly reporters running around the globe asking "Do you like Americans?" Who cares if they do or don't; we definitely do not like them and need to demand that our tax dollars stay in America. We have a harder time getting assistance foreigners! I have been laid off and witnessed the rudeness of employees to those seeking assistance. Former President Reagen forced millions off welfare, yet we are financially supporting those who have no claim to our money. The funds allocated to the poor and not adequate to properly feed and house the disadvantaged and they are viewed as freeloaders. What is wrong with this picture? Disabled individuals applying for Medicaid and Medicare are routinely denied as a matter of policy.
Our leaders are more obsessed with standing on a world stage and having the nations of the world admire them than representing its citizens and having Americans a priority.
Just as importantly, we need to observe this president closely. He associates with bomb-planting radicals and those who have a horrible view of America, he has visited Hugo Chavez and accepted a book, favors illegal criminals and then promptly reduces the number of border guards; President Obama and his cabinet are totally aware of their actions, they are deliberately destroying this country and plan to implement their own vision of government, as tyrants have been known to do.

"You learn something new every day," and that's mine for the day. I've done payroll for 30+ years, never for union P/Rs, and I HAD NO IDEA. They're just like any other taxing entity, then. They want everybody to think in terms of "take home pay." Don't pay any attention to those deductions, folks, move on, nothing to see here.

Being a former SEIU MEMBER, in disgust, this UNION does NOT give a DAMNED about it’s members! It’s ALL about the DUES! My former employer of over 30 years, I watched it ALL! They(SEIU) GAIN access to a business, then they are “hard” on the employer for a few years(makes the members feel real good). As the years go by, they START working with the EMPLOYER and the benefits are less and less ech year. While the employee loses! Last election(I was no longer there as an employee), they lost their INCOME PROTECTION DAYS. They amounted to about 2 days a year in case you were sick and needed to stay home(doctors note required). They NO LONGER ACCEPTED a doctor’s note for absentism purposes. If you missed more than 3 absences in a 3 month period you were written up. If this continued you were eventually FIRED! First day sick pay ONLY, if you were hospitalized. If NOT sick pay went from 3rd day to 7th day. And, too many days gone-NOW they are taking away VACATION TIME as well. So, you tell me JUST HOW WONDERFUL SEIU IS? Not to mention a horrible employer. MIND YOU, this is a NURSING HOME! When you have such STRICT absentism policy, EMPLOYEES are coming to work sick. Who does this affect the most-SENIOR CITIZENS! I have NOT been SICK since I no longer work there. And, it’s been a YEAR AND A HALF! It’s so great NOT BEING SICK! TOO BAD I didn’t file WORK COMP CLAIMS/GOING TO WORK WAS A HAZARD!
If you want the rest of the country to look like Detroit, just pass the card-check legislation that Obama seeks to pay-back his shady union-leader supporters with.
In today’s world, if someone else is willing to do what you do for less, you’ve got a problem. There's simply no way to force employers to pay you more than what you’re worth over the long run, as the company will be destroyed by competitors with labor purchased at the market rate- and that means China eventually.
The gangster methods and ludicrous job rules of the unions only worked for the short term benefit of a few, as the company, workers, and country all lose out as the enterprise is bled white. If you want to earn more money, you better obtain a marketable skill… the days of $50/hr for putting hubcaps on Cutlass Supremes is long, long gone.
With card-check, union goons can show up at your doorstep at 10pm to “ask” you to join the union. And guess what? You WILL sign- lol

I have spoken to a few former co-workers regarding SEIU, MY HOPES ARE that they “pass the word” along about SEIU and checkout this website. Out of over a 100 plus employees, only about 30 voted. So, it isn’t a well organized/strong union. My hopes are that they either-drop SEIU, or get a different union by re-vote.
My husband is in a union. He pays about 5% of his gross in dues, and pays $300 a week for health benefits, plus the pension they take out. His hourly wage looks good until you factor all that in and taxes, and it's pretty ugly. I detest his union leadership, they send out newsletters full of propaganda about health care "reform", etc. The last time they struck for pay raises that covered a two year contract, it took the first year of the pay raise increases to make up for the time they were off without pay on strike. He doesn't get paid if he isn't working, so holidays are a bitch. I just don't see their benefit, they will be replaced with non-union eventually. Next thing guvment wants to do is take his pension that HE PAID INTO and add it to his social security so that they can control his privately held pension fund money for their purposes. Oops, we're broke! No pension for you, too bad.
As far as nursing homes, they are usually understaffed and the employees are over worked. There are more back&neck injuries in the healthcare field than in the construction industry. There is NO SHORTAGE OF NURSE’S, NURSING ASSISTANTS, EMT’S. What there is, is ALOT OF DAMAGED PHYSICAL bodies from working in this field of work. The government knows this as well. These individuals, are TOSSED ASIDE as damaged “goods.” Unlike policeman/woman and firefighters. MY POINT IS THIS-the healthcare system is BROKE-in more ways than ONE! Don’t let anyone you care about ENTERTAIN the thought of working in this field. As far as Obamacare-this ISSUE will escalate. Aside from the fact, you’ll be paying “through the nose” for LITTLE OR NO ACCESS! And, threatened with jail if you don’t pay-BUILD MORE JAILS! Because you’ll need them.
Again, the Left must use words to sell a policy that are the exact opposite of the true effect of that policy. SEIU = muscle of thugocracy.

EVERYONE knows that Detroit is in a huge financial hole and the city government there (Bing) – not exactly right wingers- cannot get the local unions to reduce wages, benefits a DIME. Most jobs for construction were taken over by mexican groups who then formed their own unions to prevent white Americans getting those jobs.

Not to mention that when a floor worker is also a union rep, when they are on "union business" they get paid their daily wages by the company PLUS matching pay from the union. Wake up and live in this century. Unions had a place when there were sweatshops and employers ran roughshod over workers. In this economy and work environment employers have a self-interest to NOT repress employees because those employees will walk out in a heartbeat or sue under one of several federal regulations about workplace safety. Both have raised famlies here in the US on those wages. FACT, be known-I won’t ever OWN another American vehicle that you spend more time in the repair shop than driving it! My current car is a NISSAN VERSA 2007-have NOT spent one day in the shop for any repairs. When American car manufacturers can make a QUALITY VEHICLE that doesn’t fall apart on UNION WAGES let me know! NISSAN also has factory here in the United States, and they employ American workers! GET OVER YOUR UNION CRAP! GET OVER BLAMING FOREIGN vehicles for your demise. It's a little different w/ Emergency Services, everybody has to work except the top people who part of the political make-up (most are appointees of the mayor & are not necessarily capable of working the streets because of age or lack of current certifications/training) but you still had stewards, grievers, arbitrators, etc. & they all get their base pay plus the union & the company/agency pays them to hold their position. We had what is called an agency shop meaning you don't have to be part of the union but every one who is eligable to be union has to pay the union for contract negations whether your union or not.

Unions, per se, are not my beef, it is GOVERNMMENT employee unions, why do teachers, Cal Trans workers that hold flags their whole lives, janitors and kitchen help need unions for?, if they do not like the salaries paid, they start unions like SEIU and hold the state hostage, the state of California prison guards unions can swing elections now, they are PUBLIC employees, that' my beef.

If you want to test my scoring Theory, reply to this comment by adding a 'trolls' name. My score is a hard earned 95, it usually takes me about 29 comments and 35 thumbs to rise 1 point. If my score rises more than 2 or more points with 35 back and forth comments and no thumbs up, we can then call it 'settled science'!

I know! Want to join a union? Ask your co-workers of a like mind to start their own business! Then you all can pass cards around and sign up. Please understand that the business is obligated to comply with all local, state, federal regulations, pay all taxes on time, manage cash flow, pay at least the mimimum wage, offer employee benefits, etc, etc,. My guess is that most folks lusting after union status couldn't run a business if their life depended on it. All the lustful want-to unionizers see are "fat cats". Don't kid yourself. Owners of small businesses can barely make it financially. Employees actually owe their employers a full day's work and should be grateful to have a job at all. Wake up.
