Kansas Helps SEIU Using Taxpayer Funds and State Resources
by Brian JohnsonAt the beginning of September, we received several letters and emails from Kansas health care providers reporting on notices that Kansas state departments had sent them. The letters, printed on KS Department letterhead and bearing the name of the Governor, were asking for the providers “name, address and phone number” to hand over to the Service Employees International Union (SEIU).

The SEIU had contacted the KS Department of Aging and the Department of Social and Rehabilitative Services asking for state health care providers information for the purposes of unionizing them. These Departments did not have this information on hand. Rather than simply telling the SEIU “sorry, we don’t have that”, they spent thousands of taxpayer dollars and state resources to gather this information.
When we contacted Gov. Parkinson’s office to request correspondence between their Departments and the SEIU, and to determine how much this cost the taxpayers of Kansas, we were told “the Governor’s office is not in possession of any information.”
Following up with the Department of Social and Rehabilitative Services, we were told they spent almost $5,000 to print and collect this personal information on behalf of the SEIU. Secretary Don Jordon said in an email to us, “I support the effort to get union information to workers paid with state revenue.”
We have yet to receive the amount of taxpayer funds the Department of Aging spent.
The practice of states using their resources and taxpayer dollars to collect personal data for unions is spreading. Illinois’ temporary Gov is doing the same thing. Illinois currently provides state funding to approximately 3,000 residents to assist family members with developmental disabilities through the Illinois’ Home-based Support Services Program. The personal information of people enrolled in the Support Services Program was distributed to two unions in accordance with Executive Order 09-15 which states, “the Department of Human Services shall provide to an organization interested in representing individual providers access to the names and addresses of current individual providers.”
We have not received a response from Quinn’s office to our requests similar to those made in Kansas.
With unionization declining, expect to see more and more pressure being placed on state Governors to use their Departments to “bailout” the failing labor movement.

Kansas is the state too busy shoveling tax money to child abusers to verify that the children are still among the living. Adam Herrman was sold to Valerie Herrman and Doug Herrman, who subsequently "misplaced him" while continuing to collect $70K in the years after he "disappeared." That was under the watch of Sebelius. It's a well-known child-trafficking scheme, but it keeps all those folks with DFAC or CPS or HHS employed.
We need to take our country back starting with local and state governments. Find people who support the constitution and help get them elected. Time is wasting tick….tick….tick

Come on. There have to be ways to stop things like this. With the way libtards have corrupted the courts and trashed our Constitution, with their control of all three branches of govt., public education, the czars, unions, the media…. hell, sometimes I feel like giving up because we're just so overwhelmed.
Ah, to hell with that. I'll fight to the end in any way I can!
DOWN WITH BIG LABOR!!!!!!
The SEIU does not simply want to give these employees information. They want to strong-arm them into signing up. Once again–my blood is beginning to boil!
As long as our boys are putting their actual lives on the line fighting half-way round the world, it's the least we can do to fight here at home.
Every dollar you spend on a "Union Made" product is a dollar you give to Democrats/SEIU/ACORN thugs.
Remember, Kansas is where Obama's Health Secretary Sebelius came from, who suppoted and enabled, Tiller, the baby killer.
Well as we see it's just another way the unions want to control people, whether or not they belong to the union or not. SEIU needs to be taken down a notch or two; they are spending our money because the governors and their group of lemmings are in the unions hands. They owe the unions for them getting in to office and they want to repay them, oh yea with yours and my money. Every one needs to put and end to this government graft, and make them accountable for their actions against the people they are to be working for, by the oath they took when they entered their offices.
ive been going out of my way not to buy anything union made i drive a truck and have delt with lazy union workers in food warehouses got no use for uions or their thugs
What is that at the end of the road in the SEIU logo? A super-nova implosion representing the end of all life as we know it?
Doesn't anyone have any videos on the SEIU?
It is coming faster than you think it is, most people are clueless to what is coming down the road.

I just can't beleive the naivette of our current administration. They want EVERYONE to be employed by the Government, which will be Unionized shortly along with the Military. What they don't seem to realize, their payroll comes from tax dollars raised from NON-governent, productuve businesses. You take those NON-government businesses away, where does the $$$$ come from? Oh, tax the government employees? Circles turning into a spiral to bankruptcy.
The Whitey House needs to pull its ideological ostrich head out of their………. I mean out of the sand and get a look at the REAL world. They've got a job to do, and they've done everything BUT the job they were elected to do. Nuff said.
And despite all the connections revealed between SEIU and ACORN, plus those many many ACORN affiliates, this personal info will stay solely with SEIU?
Man, I would love to see the Privacy Statement on those requests. Providing there was one.
How much personal info is needed to file a voter registration form these days? Just wondering…
Yes, the problem with socialism is that sooner or later you run out of other peoples money.
The problem is that that is EXACTLY what they want: destruction of the productive class. That has nothing to do with economic reasoning; it is all about ideology. Read "Atlas Shrugged."
About the unions. They are a cancer. That's why they only represent 8% of the workforce.Which is one of the many reasons why having Obama and the democrats in charge is so dangerous.Unions are throwing their weight around now because of Obama.A part of SEIU a government workers union is run by Wayne Rathke{local 100},the brother of Dale Rathke who embezzled 5million dollars from Acorn and was never charged. If unions are allowed to get any more power than they already have this economy will crash even worse than it already has.
Unions are the socialist armies of the far left.SEIU is the worst. They cover government workers who are paid with tax dollars. That's always been a conflict of interest. Obama's armies.
It's always been obvious to me that Obama governs only for his special interests. The 787billion dollar pork barrel stimu-less bill only had money for government union jobs. There's over 8billoin dollars earmarked for Acorn.Government union jobs are SEIU.SEIU gives millions of dollars to Acorn. Tens of billions of dollars to the UAW.Not one dime for the businesses that employ the vast overwhelming majority of American workers.
Unions represent 8% of the workforce. That's why unions, Obama and the democrats are trying so hard to change as much as they can to the left before 2010.
Is there any chance that it was illegal for a government to turn over personal information on people (even if they receive state funding)? Something doesn't seem quite right about that – the unions could have simple bought ad space in local papers advertising that home providers could join a union if they like. Unions should be paying for that not taxpayers. I hope some lawyer finds this illegal and sues those two state gov'ts.
Being a former member in disgust of SEIU, I'm calling on ALL members to drop their memberships. Even if you have to pay association fees it will be the start of a dominoe effect this horrible organization. Along with ACORN.
Understand Ayn Rand
You're right. Our troops face more than just occasional discouragement and low morale. We must fight, because we owe a debt to them and future generations, so America will again be prosperous and free.

One more example of how our tax dollars are being wasted.
And whats worse, people are being forced to help a corrupt organization like SEIU. You’re donating whether you like it or not.
Shameful…these people have no morals or scruples.

In attempts to Unionizing them? This guy clearly drinks too much Kool Aid. Everyone in KS needs to look at the taxes they pay now and look what Don wants you to do……PAY MORE! Many people living paycheck to paycheck and Don thinks you still make too much money.
Strangely, Kansas is a highly Republican state. Somehow, some way, we've gone astray. But our only Dem Congressman is about to become toast if I have anything to do with it!
I care give for my two sons in Kansas and I am not happy to learn that my personal info. is being shared with thugs.
What you have to remember is that Kansas is also a state that was right in the middle of the "progressive" movement of the late 19th-early 20th centuries. So while it is a Republican state, it is not entirely a conservative state.
