CBC Conference Attendees Say Tea Party Is Racist
by Bob ParksMRCTV visited the 41st Annual Legislative Conference of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation and found that some of those we met up with believe the Tea Party and/or its members are racist, and some even hurled racial slurs at Republican Presidential candidate Herman Cain and Rep. Allen West. Curiously the mainstream media was absent while we were there, not asking questions of the CBC attendees like the ones they vigorously asked of Tea Party members at their rallies.
So much for “post racial America”.

So, lemme get this straight….A body of congressmen/women (whose sole criterion for membership is RACE) says that a national movement made up of all races, and who have supported blacks, hispanics, asians and Indians for office, is racist? Sounds like liberal logic to me!
And as an added bonus, they call into question the "identity" of black men and call them "oreos". Well, we need a "pro-oreo orientation" lobbyist to go up there and push for a new protected class for hate crime laws. Save the cookies!

Actually, I disagree with this. It makes it sound as if their claims of racism against the TEA Party are legitimate. The only racists in this scenario are the members of the CBC.
And as for why the Tea Party cropped up when it did and not earlier? Maybe it had something to do with a Democrat House, Senate and President ramming health care down the throats of the American people?

Informal poll. Being called a racsist for the ten thousandth time, does it change your convictions, sway your opinion, or harden your resolve? That's the best you got CBC? It is becoming more and more apparent that it is impossible to reach some people. I am thankful for the folks that realize that whites aren't the devil, and don't want to condemn anybody to poverty. I will direct my respect to Armstrong Williams, Allen West, Herman Cain, Bob Parks, Clarence Thomas and myriad others that love this country and celebrate everyone as a fellow citizen.

Heh… I used to share that piece of advice with my children when the situation warranted. It's good advice, particularly when discussing a political group who can boast a large percentage of members who are also members of the Democratic Socialist of America and who love to swap spit with the likes of the Castro brothers. Our TEA Party was founded in 2007, and made our first public appearance on April 15, 2008, tax day. At the time, it was still presumed that Hillary would be the Democrat nominee, and Obama was still "that guy from Chicago with the weird name."

Even if any of these attendees didn't harbor any genuine contempt for The Tea Party as individuals, the need to bash them would be pretty overwhelming standing outside the ballroom of a CBC conference. Every rationale given was soaked in debunked stereotypes and innuendo. Perpetuating the myth is all that matters.

As I recall the TEA PARTY started before Obama was president. Bush was still around and Dems had control of congress, and it was what they had been doing that was being protested by the tea party folks.

A younger friend of mine, who has a lot of liberal friends, called me today. One of his college buddies (who was a die-hard lefty born in a lefty household) called him, and wanted a list of conservative books to read. He's sick of Obama, sick of the rhetoric, and sick of the broken promises. I've actually debated the kid before, and am SHOCKED that such a die hard lefty has made such a drastic change in such a short time. The only colors American Patriots care about are the Red, White and Blue, and it is interesting that the Tea Party never even mentions race or racism, but that is all you hear from the left. What gets me is the CBC chairman, Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, who recently addressed the new jobs bill to reporters said, "If Bill Clinton had been in the White House and had failed to address this problem, we probably would be marching on the White House." Well, if that doesn't reek of racism I don't know what does.

The CBC is at the opposite end of the ideaological specturm from the Tea Party in general and Cain and West in particular so I don't expect them to be positive (generally not something one expects of politicians in the modern political climate) but throwing around the false allegation of racism is just irresponsible and damaging.
Also, call me a cynic, but I never thought America was going to go 'post-racial' and I don't necessarily see that as a terrible thing. Black culture in the US was built up over the course of centuries. Like all culture, it is an ever changing thing, but I realistically don't expect it to melt away in the short term.
