Resolution Against YouTube ‘Racism’

Using the NAACP’s resolution against Tea Party “racism” as a model, I hereby ask YouTube to repudiate their racist users.
“I take no issue with Google’s YouTube community. I believe in freedom of assembly and people raising their voices in a democracy. What I take issue with is the YouTube’s continued tolerance for bigotry and bigoted statements. The time has come for them to accept the responsibility that comes with influence and make clear there is no place for racism & anti-Semitism, homophobia and other forms of bigotry on their website.”
The following are real comments from YouTube users on the Black & Right channel alone. They have not been Photoshopped and distributed by Think Progress.

The Tea Party Express jettisoned Mark Williams shortly after his inappropriate comments became public knowledge. I’ve sent screenshots of comments like these to YouTube on many occasions and have yet to receive acknowledgement.

Ed: Sorry for the rant. Just re-read your article and see below where you were asking YouTube to repudiate their blatant racism, and I agree. My eyes must be burning, and they were after I read those quips. Sorry.

Yet more proof that YouTube commenters are the lowest form of societal detritus. I usually use YouTube for viewing musical content, and the comments under those videos aren't much better.
YouTube users can disable comments entirely on their posted videos, but not filter them for approval I think. Google however – which owns YouTube – could do that, or better yet, give users the ability to approve comments. Google allows that with Blogspot sites like mine, so I don't see what the problem is.
It would be far, far better for users to have the ability to accept or reject comments than to leave it to Google, for reasons that should be blindingly obvious.

I don't go to youtube's website. Most of the time, it's pointless. I don't think you can see the anti-obama videos there. It's usually anti-Palin, anti-Tea Party. Typical leftist stuff on there.

I watch people play the piano and that's about it for me on youtube.
I am on Youtube everyday and whenever posts like these materialize, they are repudiated, attacked and marked as 'spam' by fellow users. I usually check to see who the offending user is, and what kind of moronic drivel they have on their channel, and unsurprisingly, the person is either some kind of socialist / anarchist or a Fred Phelps type, or they don't have a page at all. Those who don't have a page, and have only had an account since 2008, are very likely the impostors – establishment tools posing as conservatives and/or tea party members. But, more often than any of the above, I find openly left wing users advocating for the destruction of Israel, and death to all conservatives. They are by far the most vile, and also use the n-word when aimed at black conservatives.
The person who uploads the YT video may opt to accept or reject comments, and also can delete any comments he wishes. As for Google – I can't trust it because they have too many ties to the Fed.
My first thought, as well. I'm so used to seeing this government overstep its authority that sometimes these type of articles make me think, "here we go again." Then boom. Blood pressure skyrockets! After I read some of those brutally racist comments I immediately went to banging on the keyboard. My mistake, but I wasn't being hateful to Bob in any stretch of the imagination. I was mad as a hornet with YouTube for not monitoring their web site appropriately, and I stressed I didn't want government intrusion. Then the quick re-read and thought….slaps head….hit the brakes on this machine!

Hey, I can sling around in the mud with the best of the pigs, but I do not, have not and never will post this type of garbage on the internet. Has anybody even bothered to click on the links and search those UTube sites? As I stated earlier I have not found anything that approaches what is stated above the link. If it is there post how to see it so I can see for myself before I blast them.

There sure are a lot of stupid people. My teenage son used to have an XBox 360 with the headset and mike. One day I thought I would try it out and see what the kids were saying. Let me tell you, these kids are brutal. What I heard made the above seem lame. The derogatory remarks were directed at any kid that had any kind of accent or dialect. Black, spanish, southern, you name it. The stupidity written on UTube I am sure comes from a lot of these same brats. It is not only one group. All the kids attack each other group. No kid is excluded or immune or innocent. Needless to say, the Xbox is gone.
This was not meant as a woe-is-me post, but to illustrate the hypocrisy from the left. One idiot at Tea Party Express is used to smear a whole group of people, yet they look the other way and/or participate in verbiage far worse than anything on a Photoshopped sign.

I am a firm believer in the right to free speech, but I have my youtube channel set up that my friends can comment freely and other users I have to approve their comments. If the comment is just some derogatory comment made for the specific purpose of berating someone I delete it. If it's a valid point against my video I approve it. I ask that proper language be used and let posters know I will delete if the language is inappropriate.

Youtube isn't exactly known for the intelligence of the posters or of the administration. I think that goes for both right and left persuasions. I know one hyper-progressive guy who refuses to read any comments on youtube due to the complete stupidity of them. It's one of the few things we agree completely on.

YouTube is a venue for some really good stuff. Check out How The World Works, for example. Unfortunately, it also attracts a sizable short attention span contingent, unable to process information which is not presented in video form. Not surprisingly, these mental defectives are also very foul-mouthed.
Well, well…I did a little research into this topic and contacted each of the individuals listed and received responses from all but one of them. I had to act covertly so as to not sway any answers to the questions I asked. I started off stating that I was doing a survey of random commenters. I asked the same questions of all the individuals. I asked what they liked and disliked about you tube. I asked their gender, age, race, and political affiliation. Huge surprise here… all but one identified themselves as either tea party or republican. Well not really a surprise. Yes there was one democrat and all of them were white.
I feel your pain but…freedom of speech, even the speech you find repulsive or hateful or even dangerous, must not be infringed. It is the very core of our freedom. Stop this guy from saying that, or that guy from saying this, and before long the list of speech someone, somewhere finds offensive gets longer and longer until there is NO free speech left for anyone except for a short list of acceptable speech put together by a room full of bureaucrats. Need proof. Just take a look at what is happening on college campuses all over the country. "Free Speech Zones" It sounds like a bad joke but it is a sad reality.

Exposure is the best medicine. This will indeed cut down on a lot of the rampant racism that exists today in our society. And as you well know racism is not confined to any one culture. It's a hard call where to draw the line with the internet as I too believe in the principles of the First Amendment to the Constitution and right of free expression.
Further, this is the internet and if people are so inclined to actually believe that this type of nonsense is condoned by the Tea Party movement, then it just goes to show they will believe anything. I truly believe however most people can see through the rhetoric and false narrative to realize what is taking place; that the Tea Party movement is a peaceful assembly of American citizens who believe in the basic principles of limited government, free enterprise and less taxation.
Polls indicate to me that America is rising up slowly but surely and, most ordinary people are completely fed up with what they see coming from this Administration. Conservative politics takes no prisoners when it comes to racism and just as its history shows it will again take the conservatives to restore this Republic.
I'm afraid however there just will never be a permanent peace on this planet so in spite of my optimism we may be entering the apocalypse as attributed to Saint John the Apostle in the Book of Revelation. I do know and believe in my heart this day will be forthcoming; so be it. Amen.

There are as many horrible people in the white community as there are in the black community or the yellow community but there are as many GOOD people in all races.

Mr. Parks, I was raised in east central Iowa. I did not know any black or Hispanic children or adults through my formidibal years. My only exposure were The Jeffersons, Good Times and Bill Cosby. After I grew up I became a over the road semi driver. I delivered loads to Detroit, St. Louis, Minneapolis and other large cities. I quickly learned and was actually coached by black men as who to trust and how to behave in the black nieghborhoods. I have never considered myself a racist, just a very strong conservative. When I would show up at 3 A.M. and find a tired black guard I knew that we had something actually in common. That love and need for family and self pride and determinism mattered. When I hear from the NAACP how whitey keeps the black man down the thing I can figure is it is job security for the "pitiy" masters. My experiences on youtube were that if you take down all the offensive, profane, etc. comments, then youtube takes down your video with no explaination to you.
Thats how these ' trolls ' operate: If you allow their offensive comments, it offends viewers or discredits Conservative views: If you take down the offensive comments, they complain to youtube and your video is taken down, and your account can be suspended.
If you are one of the ' trolls ' from OFA or MMA then you already know this.

Well Boots, the intent of the piece was to show the hypocrisy of the left when it comes to NAACP condemnation of the Tea Party and how liberal racism towards black conservatives is not deterred. Many of the negative comments I get are from black liberals as well, but this exercise is in defense of the Tea Party.

This type of ignorance is generational. It is the willful disregard for the truth, and the lack of exploring life's meaning, or questioning one's beliefs. These people will not, and do not, want to change. Their limited beliefs create their identity and connections to other with whom they can identify. Very sad. We must identify them, openly renounce them, and remove ourselves from their presence.
What I did was click on the blue lines at the bottom of the comment the third one had a video of a kid with rollerblades that was good but I only watched half of it.and did not see or hear anything inapproate, I am being honest, I also clicked on a few other things and nothing, I feel real stupid because I guess I am not clicking on the right links. Exactly right. As you can tell by the reaction to our posts everyone on this site is thinking, "not my little Johny, or "my little Mary, they are perfect". What they don't see is that we are creating through affirmative action, ignoring our differences, and shear stupidity, creating a whole generation of racists. I dare anyone to take the time, go on any XBox game that is miked up, wait for anyone with a southern drawl or racial dialect and see what comes out. This young generation through this entire process of race mongering and race baiting is growing up, without most adults even knowing it, to be the generation that puts us in a place this country has never been before. Wake up people, this is one of those situations that the left with all there planning, did not factor in the equation.

Of course I believe youtube should be kept an open forum and if your afraid of reading something that you don't agree with then don't read to comments. I agree with an earlier poster in that policing of comments should remain with the users which do a good job of booting silly racial provocateurs. Its far too large a job to ask youtube to behave like a surrogate mom and shield our farcically sensitive eyes from the comments of 12 year old boys who feel a tingle inside whenever they post something they think will offend someone.
I laughed a considerable amount after a reading one the comments about "killing cracker babies" made by one of the new black panther party members and I am white. The point is that one only has to take an objective look at these people to realize what a complete farce they are and how little their existence actually means. Being offended and outraged by these individuals is like taking the ravings of schizophrenic seriously and asking the government to remove the "implants" from our brain.
Of course I don't want it stopped or I would have deleted their offensive comments. I want the world to see who these people are while they attempt to smear a political party or an entire group of citizens.
At the same time, this is to call out the NAACP's racebaiters who pick and choose their targets to maintain some semblance of relevancy.

I know T Bo, the comments were perfectly harmless. Sarah Sliverman uses the n-word on Comedy Central and the young punks chastise us for not seeing the humor in it. Why don't you ask the NAACP and the left how they could be offended by racial comments, even going as far as making some up.
Ok, you are right, I just went back and the sites seem to have more links and videos that weren't there the first time I looked, either that or I just did not where to find the links, the ones I did revisit I agree they should be elimated. I guess I just scan too darn fast. Sorry
