Black Activists Condemn NAACP Resolution Against Tea Party Movement
by Bob ParksAs the NAACP plans to use their group’s prestige to bash the tea party movement, members of the Project 21 black leadership network are urging delegates at the NAACP’s national convention not to turn the NAACP into a pawn for progressive political bosses.
“As a frequent speaker at tea party rallies around the country, I can assure the NAACP that the tea party movement’s concerns are about President Obama’s policies and not his race,” said Project 21 fellow Deneen Borelli. “I’m deeply concerned that the NAACP is being used as a political tool to do the dirty work of the progressive movement. Instead of criticizing tea parties, the NAACP would be better served denouncing the racist comments made by a member of the New Black Panther Party and their voter intimidation outside a Philadelphia polling place in the last presidential election.”
According to a report in the Kansas City Star, the NAACP, which is conducting its 101st annual convention in that city, will take up a resolution as early as Tuesday to urge “all people of good will to repudiate the racism of Tea Parties, and to stand in opposition to its drive to push our country back to the pre-civil rights era.”
Kansas City NAACP chapter president Anita Russell said the tea party movement is “really not about limited government.” The resolution reportedly dwells on “explicitly racist behavior” that relies upon anecdotal posters opposing President Obama and allegations of the use of racial epithets by tea party participants.
Project 21’s Borelli added: “I urge the delegates to read the Contract from America – a list of policy objectives for Congress that was developed by tea party members nationwide. These objectives are clearly about limited government and liberty. In fact, the NAACP should be very concerned Obama’s cap-and-trade energy policy will lead to higher energy prices and higher unemployment – particularly among poor and minority households.”
Borelli, who has spoken at tea party events nationwide (including last year’s 912 rally at the U.S. Capitol) is the author of the commentary “Liberals Crash Tea Party, But Stay Silent On Black Panther Hate Talk,” published by FoxNews.com on July 12, 2010.
“Personally, I’m tired of arguing with the ignorant,” said Bob Parks, a Project 21 member who has also participated in tea party events – including the rallies outside the U.S. Capitol on 9/12 and the weekend of the House votes on Obamacare. “Al Sharpton recently tried in vain on his radio show to get me to apologize for alleged tea party racism. He tried to get me to apologize for racial epithets hurled at Congressman John Lewis that only Lewis seemed to hear. I would guess neither Al Sharpton nor the overwhelming majority of NAACP members have ever been to a tea party, so they speak from intentional ignorance. While liberals scream racism at the tea parties purely because of their audacity to oppose Obama, it’s the progressives who seem to feel free to use racial epithets against others as they know – as is seen in this instance – that the NAACP turns a blind partisan eye.”
The NAACP’s Russell reportedly is “pretty certain” the anti-tea party resolution will pass.
“Progressives have hijacked the NAACP to the extent that the group stands silent as conservative blacks suffer indignities for their beliefs. Some NAACP even egg on this appalling behavior – providing political cover and lapdog services for these elitists,” said Project 21 member Kevin Martin. “As a conservative black man, I have felt more welcomed and at home within the tea party movement than among those of my own who side with the this new NAACP. If a few random signs of President Obama looking like the Joker is indeed racist, then where was the NAACP when conservative blacks are depicted as lawn jockeys, Oreos and Uncle Toms?”
“The level and depth of ignorance and misrepresentation of truth is unquantifiable,” said Project 21 chairman Mychal Massie, another speaker at tea party events in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Michigan. “The simple truth is that the tea party movement is about smaller government, lower taxes and an adherence to the Constitution. The NAACP is welcome to disagree with the tea parties, but in making that complaint they must be truthful and not fall prey to ignorance and perceived disaffection.”
A $100,000 reward offer made by Andrew Breitbart to anyone who can provide video and audio evidence that racial epithets were shouted at Congressional Black Caucus members by tea party activists on March 20 remains unclaimed months later.

I said it yesterday. Each time the NAACP engages with progressive rhetoric they diminish the charter. They have become a progressive shill organization with little relevance. Members should denounce the nonsense and look to see who is really on their side regarding policy. The NAACP have made a mockery of themselves by backing a political agenda at the expense of many of the very people they claim to fight for. This group was founded on noble intentions, with laudable goals, but over time, progressivism has insinuated itself into it's leadership and subjugated the purpose of the group to the purposes of the progressive agenda which does more to economically and politically enslave minorities than any of the bogeymen they currently stand against.

One of the Tea Party events I attended with around 10,000 people, Herman Cain was the Master of Ceremony, a very black, very brilliant, very conservative, very successful businessman who, if he were our president I would sleep in peace knowing an accomplished man was in charge. Instead we get Barry the Boy King, who knows things cause he read it in a book.
The one cool thing about the era of ’08, was America elected a black man as president, the drag is who the black man is.

The new members of the NAACP have been trained in the idea that any suffering that has been inflicted, or is being inflicted, or will be inflicted on everyone else will always be inferior to the suffering that was inflicted upon African Americans during the days of slavery. The victimhood is being perpetuated at the highest levels of this admininstration and ill serves this generation, but it serves the people who only want power.

Come on. Michelle Obama definitely has a powerfully built figure but in no way is close to being obese. You might find her unattractive but lets not call someone fat who certainly is not. As a woman who has always been about average in size (sometimes a little over like after having a baby and having to work hard to lose that weight) I am a bit sensitive to the denigrating average or healthy size women of either political side by calling them obese, fat, etc.
If they are really fat by all means call them that if you want to but I usually try to pick other ways of insulting people that I don't care for. You are obviously free to choose to say what you want but I keep reading these comments here and I think making these kind of insults adds fuel to those who criticize conservatives/libertarians/tea partiers.
If you want to pick on something about Michelle Obama maybe use her unfortunate fashion choices, which is where in my mind anyway the real issue with her appearance lies. She can't help her build past a certain extent but not wearing extremely large belts around her midsection might help a bit!

Nowadays the NAACP is focused on weird, lucrative minutia (not enough black managers in baseball) rather than the needs of the community (at this stage in the game, our biggest problem isn't how others treat us, but how we treat ourselves).
Still, as I've argued before, condescending, inflammatory insults stating or implying that blacks who are on the other side are either slaves afraid to leave the plantation (the insult hurled at liberal blacks) or Uncle Toms (the insult hurled at conservative blacks) are untrue and unhelpful. Blacks who believe X should be accorded the same respect (or lack thereof) given to anyone that believes X.

I still don't understand how making a poster of Obama looking like the Joker (or any other exaggerated depiction) is any more racist than the various drawings/charicatures that have been drawn of either of the Bush's, Perot, Clinton, Dole, etc. Because he is black any picture that might be a demeaning representation is automatically racist? The NAACP's condemnation of the Tea Party is not intended to Tea Party members, it is intended to independently minded people of color. The NAACP(and the Democratic Party), do not want people like Bob Parks or Clarence Thomas to excel and be heard.

I voted for Herman Cain too. My dad voted for Isakson based on an issue that was dear to him. He kicks himself everyday for that vote (Isakson is a disappointment to him) and not knowing more about Herman Cain back then.
So it comes to this. After all the marches of Dr. King, the beating in Selma, the lynchings through out the South, the unjust incarcerations that awoke America to the plight of the Negro in the south. ( I use the term Negro for historic reference) This is where history has played a cruel,but planned joke on the members of the NAACP. It was the party Democrat that from the begining has sougt to enslave the Negro. Read the history of the Lincoln Douglas debates, look up actual campaign literature from that time. The Democrat party proudly proclaimed they were the party of the White man, that the Republicans were for the Negro. The names JFKennedy, Robert Kennedy are held in esteme by the NAACP, yet is was them that instituted investigations against Dr. KIng. As Senators they voted against key civil-rights legislation.
When President Johnson finally was able to pass the 1964 civil rights ammendment, it was because the Republicans mustard enough votes to overcome the Democrats led by Senator Byrd who had filibustered for 14 hours in an attempt to derail the legislation. List all the name of the segregationist of the South from Maddox to Wallace they have one thing in common, they were all Democrats. Bill Clinton tried to soft peddle Senator Byrds history with the KKK by saying it was a brief association, excuse me, he was a recruiter and established a chapter in his community. That the NAACP now aligns with the party Democrat is the cruelist irony of all.
I think the NAACP's condemnation of the Tea Party is aimed at the tea party itself. While I suspect the insult has lost much of its power due to overuse (Oppose a policy of a black president? Racist!) racism is a concept the overwhelming majority of Americans find odious. Convince people the Tea Party is racist, the Tea Party dies on the vine and Democrat's reelection prospects (and Obama's prospect of continuing to implement his agenda) are somewhat brighter.
I agree that the NAACP has devolved into a rabidly partisan group which no longer cares about the interests of the black community and actively seeks to discredit those who don't support the Democratic party.
My point is that disrespecting black people on the other side by calling them slaves (a grave insult) isn't going to help move them from the liberal column to the conservative column. For the NAACP to openly pick a fight with the Tea Party Movement is a massive and huge mistake…WHY? Because the Tea Party Movement is mainly comprised of concerned, grass roots, loyal Americans that are, in accordance with the Constitution, peacefully petitioning their government, and potential candidates. Moreover, the TP want cleaner government.
IMO, NAACP members should get over the rigor mortised issue of race, quit preaching hate, quit dividing Americans, disband, move on and better spend the time enhancing their own personal lives!

All I can say is WOW!!! The "Folstom Street Fair" was nothing like what I ever thought any country anywhere would ever have in it's streets for any and all to see. Knowing there are those that indulge in fetishes and some are beyond my imagination is one thing. Seeing it in the middle of the street broad daylight is completely another. The fact that it isn't national news is even more astounding. I would never have believed it had I not seen it for myself in the photo's taken. If anyone is considering looking be warned it's extremely sexually graphic. When I read that I thought how bad can it be? It's in the middle of the street in the middle of the day. It's bad!!

The NAACP is not being 'used' – they know exactly what they're doing. This is an organization that only weeks ago condemned a space themed greeting card for using the term 'Black Holes', citing it's similarity to the urban slang / slur "Black Ho's". Which, incidentally, is a term invented by black gang culture and rap music – a real issue that they choose to ignore. So, not only was no offense committed whatsoever by the Card company, but the offense the company was accused of was the use of a term that came out of ebonics. If the NAACP wishes to better serve black women, it may wish to address the problems of gang culture, teen pregnancy, promiscuity, etc., in the inner cities. But, that would require taking responsibility for the role they play in their own destruction, not merely blaming whites as is their usual course of action. The NAACP has long ago lost all relevance and credibility. They are just another divisive partisan progressive group seeking socialism, multiculturalism and tribalism. Their agenda is based on class envy and has nothing to do with elevating Blacks. Their activities serve only to promote black enslavement to the welfare state, and the tethering of black children to the horrid public school system. Months ago the NAACP announced that MLK 'was a socialist'. That single ignorant utterance reveals everything you need to know about the modern NAACP. Shame on them.

The NAACP now works AGAINST the "advancement of colored people", actually pushing the agenda of the new American "slave-owners" – the Democratic party (well, actually Dem's were historically the big slave owners, and always fighting FOR slavery – so no big changer here). The Dems NEED the black community to be in chains of poverty, poorly educated, highly unemployed-unemployable. Without a need for their Dem "massa's" Govt. hand-outs and social programs to survive, they would not vote for these modern-day, carpet-bagging slavers. Ironic – an organization founded to lead the black community OUT of slavery, now suborned to keep the black community IN slavery. All the NAACP are now are the Dem Master's "overseers", whipping their Masters' black slaves to do their Master's bidding.

Please someone explain to me how, if Obama is 1/2 white, anything whites say is racist? I really want to know. Given his racial makeup – wouldn't it be only be 1/2 racist? And are not the black being racist to his white 1/2.
