Let's see. Soto lied about being a gun rights advocate for the people in accordance with the 2nd amendment. Then, just the other day, the evidence clearly demonstrates she is nothing but an Obama stooge/drone willing to fall into the tar pit of fairy tail justice. She followed Steven’s stupidity down the trail as a true Marxist would.
Justices Scalia and Thomas both brought forth an absolutely scathing and dressing down of Steven’s lunacy that is leading the progressive socialist from the bench. Kagan, being in bed with the same aforementioned socialist, would do everything she can to strike this very important right that we have away and disarm We Citizens of the US.
CALL AND/OR WRITE YOUR SENATOR AND TELL THEM TO VOTE HELL NO TO CONFIRM KAGAN!!!
It just goes to show that these confirmation hearings are nothing more than a dog and pony show.
No "progressive" nominee to the court will openly support the 2nd amendment, they always say one thing to get confirmed and then do another once they take power.
The repeated deceptions in regard to this one fundamental right by ALL progressives in DC, exposes their utter contempt for the continued existence of the constitution and the bill of rights. They accuse the right of "looking backwards" by supporting the constitution with a constructionist view as they fawn over the outright oligarchies and socialist states of Europe and Asia. In their minds the failed theory of socialism and the UN as a form of government are preferable to the concepts of individual liberty and self determination contained in our founding documents, pot meet kettle.

The question is not will Kagan do a Sotomayor on gun rights, but when. There is no doubt she will. These progressives will say anything to get past the panel then their ideology will take over from there.
I still don't understand how anybody can argue that "the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed" can mean anything but what it explicitly says. It says THE PEOPLE, the RIGHT OF THE PEOPLE to keep and bear arms, not the right of the militia or the police or the military, it says THE PEOPLE.

It is guaranteed by the Bill of Rights, so please don't give anyone the idea that it's being allowed by those in power who can, if given a chance, break the law, trash the Constitution and using strongarm tactics, take our guns away, but even then they haven't the authority to disallow them. Even the damned DEMS don't pull that garbage during such a process. Please learn just what belongs/goes with what.

On Monday, after the SCOTUS decision on the Illinois gun ban, radio host Jason Lewis had a fascinating take on it; I would like to bounce it off all of you to get your thoughts. Jason is a libertarian par excellence, so don't think I am describing some Air America type! lol
He agreed with the decision, BUT he said the court was totally reversed from the 'usual' way you would expect libs and conservatives on the bench to rule. Usually the conservatives on the bench are fans of states rights and libs are judicial activists. In this case, it was the libs would came down on the side of states' rights and the conservatives ruled for federal government oversight (or at least federal level via the Court) because conservatives like guns.
In the case of Roe, conservatives argue that it is terrible constitutional law (relying as it does on the non existent 'right to privacy') and in any event it should be up to the states to decide, but libs are pro choice lunatics so they favor federal decision making.
Jason stressed that he agreed with the ruling, but warned that it is not a good thing to agree with the outcome simply because you agree with it; what happens if the court rules in a way you don't like?
At the same time, Rush was appalled that the 2nd amendment passed by a 5 – 4 decision; it should have been 9 – 0.
I think it is so great that at least on the conservative side of the aisle, there is a debate of ideas and principles. Both guys come to the same conclusion but kind of from different angles, ya know?

Filibuster hasn't been tried with nominees like this because in the past there were ways for members of the senate to sideline nominees before it went this far. For example, if the senator from her home state didn't want it to happen.
But it would not be against any set in stone laws, to simply not have the 60 votes to close debate when her nomination would go to the floor of the senate.

There was a time, really not all that long ago, when all American kids had to read "YOUR CONSTITUTION", learn it and understand it. I don't know if it's still in print, but do yourself a favor and try to buy a copy. The book contains the entire Constitution, as well simple explanations of every part of it and how each part relates to the presidency and both Houses of Congress.

Maybe it is the knowledge that the MSM will crucify a Republican for doing what the Dems do to a Republican nominee, but by and large, it is a walk in the park for Democrat nominations.
