Commisioner Goodell, Is THIS Divisive?
by Bob ParksNFL Commissioner Roger Goodell spoke out against Rush Limbaugh’s being a potential minority owner of the St. Louis Rams because he was “divisive”. Since then, two minority owners of the Miami Dolphins (Jennifer Lopez and Fergie) have engaged in present and past conduct that could be considered divisive, but nothing that caught the attention of Goodell or the NFL.

This song was remixed for The Black Eyed Peas’ fifth studio album The E.N.D. as “Let’s Get Re-Started. “Retarded” is considered a derogatory term for the mentally impaired, making the song unsuitable for play on some radio stations and at sports games. In 2004 the song’s lyrics were edited and “Let’s Get It Started” found its way onto radio airwaves, movie soundtracks, and video games.
Sure, the lyrics were changed later so The Black Eyed Peas could make more money off the song, but “retarded” was their original concept. But hey, this isn’t divisive, right Rog?

Saints March. The NFL ends on an inspirational night. Garcon's drop in the 2nd quarter with the Colts up by 10 was the game changer.

The NFL is going into the danger zone. The players are going to shoot blanks at the bad advice of union leadership – what's new – and the owners are going to rightfully say "credit is contracting and so do payrolls." Like the US taxpayer the fans lose.

I should have expected Goodell to call Rush "divisive." He's a classic example of a corporate empty suit and leftist shill. Add in the NFL's blind eye attitude to the off-field antics of too many players who, if they had no football skills, would probably either be in prison or dead. That's just a couple of reasons I've taken my business elsewhere.
Man do I ever agree. I'm from South Louisiana. I was here for Katrina. All I learned from a crying Shep Smith was a man shouldn't walk a dog before a hurricane, and the hurricane ONLY hit NO. And really ONLY hit the 9th ward. This has been the media story every since.

Screw them, I'm sick of hearing about it. You do know PRIOR to the hurricane NO had an unequaled murder rate in the country. If NO's murder rate had been scaled up to NYC's population it would have registered over 2,000 per year!!! No NO was never anyone's prize. Ya, Ya, have pity, compassion … blah, blah … remember they had 200 school buses to take people out with but Nagin, the mayor, said "MY people are not riding school buses. No air conditioning!" Then they reelected this clown. A large fraction of NO's problem was a "man caused disaster."
Having said all that. I'm also glad I don't have to hear what a great QB Payton Manning is anymore. All media gave the game to the Colts, specifically Manning. Hell 98% of the people on the other BreitBart were pulling for the Colts, just like Obama. HAHAHA suck it yankee's.

The article is about the statement that Roger Goodell made that Rush Limbaugh being "divisive", and questioning whether the same statement can be applied to a music group that started with the word retard in the title of a song that was being produced.
The point i was making (obviously lost in the forum) was that in my mind there is no comparison. Still, thanks the for the verbal sparring! I bow to the use of the words buffoon and moron, two solid blocks of foundation on which the internet was built!

Even if the McNabb remarks had never been said, I would hope they would still be sensible enough to identify the big slob as a tumor and keep him out. The right needs to force their 5 activist Supreme Court puppets to declare Right Wing slobbering, substance abusing hypocrites a "protected class," and that would force society to recognize Limbaugh as an entity with equal rights. Until then, they have the right to keep their organization free from the likes of him. Our children need to be protected from this Limbaugh plague until it finally runs its course.
NFL is a private business. Although I dislike their decision, it's still theirs to make. I would like to think a private business still has the right to make their own decision… be it right or wrong. As a private business it CAN pick and choose who/what is devisive.
That being said. It's up to US to reward/penalize the NFL. I stopped watching the NFL this year (cut back last year), except for the S-Bowl. If every Liberal, Small government proponent, anti-leftist, etc… stopped watching the NFL (and stopped buying NFL products), it would have an impact and we will get our message delivered to the head honcho. Until then we're nothing.

Goodell and the entire NFL can take a flying leap. I wasn't watching; who won the game last night. Wait, don't bother telling me, because I really don't care. Michael Vick can kill dogs unmercifully, Ray Curuthers or whatever his name was can muder other human beings and still others can use drugs, shoot themselves with illegal concealed weapons and then be given a pass for their sins by Pope Goodell the Almighty. But heaven forbid someone who exercises their right to freedom of speech is considered "divisive".
