Matthews: All ‘Teabaggers’ White? Maybe Not…
by Bob ParksIt is with the authority of knowledge that is MSNBC’s Chris Matthews that he declared of the ‘teabaggers’,
Here’s a news flash for ya, Chris… my son and I were there, as were many other black people. Maybe your crack staff at MSNBC failed to show you these pictures I (a black man) posted on September 12, 2009.
Sorry about having my back to you, Chris, but I was covering the event for my site and the New Media Alliance.
But tell you what, Mr. Matthews. I know a few of the black people who attended the 9/12 Tea Party on The Hill, including some of the ones who SPOKE AT THE PODIUM! I guess your camera people missed them as well.
If you wish, we can meet with you on Hardball at a time of your choosing and you can call us all-white teabaggers to our faces.

Uh Oh. Looks like little Chrissy has wet his pants again.
Where are all the fact checkers….Oh thats right, they are checking out Sarah Palins book, they are not interested in real distortions of the truth. Mr. Parks, I would LOVE to see you have a little sit down with Mr. Matthews, however, I don't believe that the truth really matters to him. Maybe a few e-mail requests might help.
There is no point in trying to prove Matthew's is crazy. It is plain to see by now. By all but himself, of course.
Nice!
Well said Mr. Parks, well said!!
Hispanic here!
But, obviously, the fact that Mr. Parks is black only supports Matthews' thesis – it is like global warming: the colder it gets, the stronger the evidence for the planet heating up.
Thank you, Bob Parks! I am so tired of people in this country crying "racism" when there is none. We are ALL God's children and I wish we would act like it. The whole "tea party" movement is about seeing through the lies and attempt at ourtirght socialism, not about color.
A black man surrounded by 10,000 angry whites is not an interracial event… it's a klan meeting.
MSNBC has a dress code….blinders!
If you're interested and/or capable to express your love or disdain for ComCast's recent acquisition of MSNBC, etal., please jot down this link. Here the email addresses are listed for the ComCast Corp. Communication heads.
Tell them how much YOU enjoy Matthews, Olbermann, Maddow, etc.
I'm sure the company can kick itself for the purchase.

Remember, YOU subscribers are paying the salaries for these telegenic hemorrhoids.
Wow that's pretty racist of Chris, treating our fellow Americans as if they are invisible and inconsequential.
Not only does Bob Parks have a point but one of the headliners who sang at every event was not only a great entertainer, you can find him on YouTube but he was also a black person. The events are also attended by every stripe and color but by both parties. Independents, Democrats and Republicans were in attendance.
The Conservative Edge
I was one of the invisible 1.5 million people there in DC on 9-12……..the majority of the crowd was white, BUT, there were blacks, hispanics, and non white folks marching too.
One hispanic lady was carrying a sign that read "Hispanics are conservatives too!"
Remember not too long ago at a health care debate MSNBC kept showing a man with a rifle and sidearm and kept saying that it was violent angry white protestors/Teabaggers showing up at town halls. They only showed the guns and never the person or his skin color. Because that would go against the illusion of angry white people since this individual happened to be black.
They said the same at a Sarah Palin book signing going look at all those white people. Considering this country is still 79.98% white the odds are in most situations you will see more white people than any other race. Even if it is standing in line to get a book signed or just standing in line to go pee.
They wish to create an illusion that this is racist and at the same time deny any person of color of supporting anything about the tea parties.
corrections- should say "other" non white folks marching too.
I attended every tea party I could afford and you had people from all backgrounds. 912 movement was a blog that transformed into groups across this nation.. We never knew or cared about the color of their skin or background. I sick of the racist talk from the media, the only racist are those in the media.
Thank you Mr. Parks. You are a true hero. Only someone cold-bloodedly stupid as Chris Matthews could make such a statement. When will he and his elietist bunch ever understand we are on to them? They are the true racists in this country.
Keep up the good work sir! We stand with you!
Funny, I don't remember seeing Chris Matthews at the 9/12 rally in Washington. Had he been there, he would have seen Native Americans, Asians, African Americans, Hispanics and just plain Americans. Maybe I should e-mail him pictures? Why are we still hearing a word he says? IGNORE the MSM, the political elite, the White House, those nut jobs in Congress and anyone else who does not represent the American people.
It's 2010–time to take back our country! Register every like-minded person to vote and drive them to the polls in November. Donate money to candidates who represent your views and values and keep in touch with them to hold them accountable as long as they're in office. Vote them out if they begin to stink like most of the DC gang does now. Heck, run yourself. Our founding fathers meant for the legislators to be representative of the citizens of the country. That means hairdressers, grocery store owners, steel workers, nurses…the list goes on. Don't leave the political battle to the slimy people. We can do this!
Way to "man-up" Bob!! Calling Chris out like that is awesome. I hope he takes you up on your offer to be on his program so you play "hardball" with him.
mikatollah,
You are a racist baiting moron! As a not 100% white individual I not only attended a TEA Party I helped organize one. You have no idea what you are talking about so I suggest you step back and let us continue to save your race baiting butt…cause it's obvious you are too weak willed and minded to save yourself!
Punks like Matthews need to come and call people teabaggers to their face as the gentleman says. Only the truly blind or stupid could not see why people are upset with the government. Looking for skin color seems to be a specialty of Matthews and his party. The rest of us see the debt, the waste, the corruption and infringement of our freedom. I did not go to a tea party to count skin color. By the way , I imagine people who throw names around like teabagger so casually were probably similar to the ones throwing around nigger in a different time.
There were many blacks and Hispanics at Tea Patrty gatherings, mikatollah. Hell, the picture of the guy with a gun, that many lefty shows put up, cutting off his head, WAS A BLACK MAN !
Stop drinking the DNC KOOL-Aid, mikatollah; it has rotted what little was left of your brain.
Every time they say TeaBagger they commit a HATE CRime against Homosexuals,
wonder if Obama and his sickening Atoorney General will prosecute Matthews?
Mathews is a douche! You may press 'Reply' and quantify the spiritual meaning concerning my statement, if you please.
Liberals are racist scum! everything is about race to them; they refuse to see humanity simply as people, they want race distinctions, classifications enforeced by laws that strip down and reduce human binegs to color coded numbers
They also claimed that it was men who like Sarah Palin; yet when the lines of people waiting to get her to sign their books were shown, there appeared to be as many women as men in the lines.
THEY LIE !
BRAVO, Mr. Parks; well done/well said !
Have the next Tea Party in the parking lot where Chris Matthews parks. Show him. He still believes everything he hears on Olbermann
Thanks to Mr. Parks for speaking out. Readers would be well served to visit http://www.lloydmarcus.com and see a real patriot! Lloyd Marcus has been a friend of mine since I joined the Republican Executive Committee of Volusia County in 2005. He proudly describes himself as a black unhyphenated American. Lloyd's columns appear frequently on AmericanThinker.com. He is a gifted artist and talented singer. He has participated as a featured entertainer on both Tea Party Express tours this year. He wrote the Tea Party Anthem and a fabulous parody of "New York, New York" called "2010." Unfortunately, Mr. Matthews is so insulated from reality he has no clue of the tremendous talent and dedication of patriots like Lloyd.
We don't need a third party, but welcome the tea partiers who want to join us in defeating the socialists who are destroying our company. Those in the media who mock us are in for a very big wake up in November 2010.
That is fear talking, Matthews is so afraid of the Tea Parties he CAN'T see diversity. He can't afford to give any credence to the Tea Parties, because then he would have to listen to them. That can't happen.
They are afraid of us. We need to take what they say for what it is, fear. We have the power and need to keep speaking out boldly. We need to be very watchful and not let them steal our next election. Don't get beaten into submission
I for one am going to try to find out how to help at the polls. I have never done it, but it is time for us to get out and make sure the Dallas Cowboys don't vote in every state.
….as opposed to the stellar polychromatic line-up at MSNBC. Scarborough, Brezinzski, Mitchell, Schultz, Matthews, Olbermann, Maddow…WOW! What a diverse group!
Well since Chris was practicing the art of tea-bagging on a young Male producer when they edited the film he probably missed you. Kind of hard to see he was on his knees and his view was blocked Brahahhahah
The liberals consider themselves as being non-racist, but their belief is that every person in a minority group is somehow disadvantaged, and therefore needs assistance of some sort-preferably from the Government. In other words, their most cherised belief is that it is up to government -the rich, priviledged and powerful elite, usually white and male, needs to take care of the poor, ignorant, minority who can't possibly take care of themselves. I will never understand why that form of patronization is not seen for what it is-blatant racism akin to big white daddy keeping the po' black folk down on the farm and taking care of them. I pray for the day people wake up to the real racists!
I have to wonder HOW MANY black friends Chris Matthews has??? Why is RACE such an issue with this election??? Just because the president is half black??? I for one would be proud to have a black president, as this country is so diverse…but the PRESIDENT HAS TO BE HONEST!!! Obama has lied all the way to the White House, and he has set this country back 50 years with his race baiting!!! This is despicable! He makes most black people look bad by acting this way!!
The issue shouldn't be if they are all White or not, but why that is considered a bad thing. How many Whites are in the Congressional Black Caucus?
How many supporters were there and how many are Black?
I wouldn't be surprised if Chris Matthews "crack staff" is made up of all "white crackers."
No offense meant to those who enjoy Saltines.
After famously saying about feeling the tingle up the leg, Chris Matthews convinced me she was an Obama girl.
Race is an issue to those who are racists. Those of us who are not racists have no problem with blacks
and whites being together. During the civil rights movement, whites were few among blacks. It wasn't an all black thing. This isn't an all white thing, either.
A lot of us add our ethnicity in front of American because we are proud to be our ethnicity as well as being a proud American. These days we seem to be allowing that designation to be used to divide us and encourage us to fight amongst ourselves. Concerned Americans are taking part in tea parties. Chris Matthews not only tries to marginalize us by calling us "tea-baggers" and racists but he tries to divide us by skin color. Now we are trying to prove we are "pc" by showing all the different skin colors of tea party attendees. We don't need to prove to anyone that we are not racist. We need to show our seriousness by not being distracted.
I am a proud, unhyphenated American.
The fact checkers are still out trying to convince themselves that the man with the AR15 at the Phoenix health care town hall was white too. Morons. Kudos to Chris from 4409 for going that day and showing the media for the tools that they really are.
How many tinfoil hats are in your closet?
Thats actually a good idea. If the Tea Party protest start targeting Rockerfeller Center and the windows that are behind these anchors facing the streets then they will have only one of two choices. Acknowledge them or close the blinds. Either way it will be lose and lose for them and win for the tea party movement.
Ok two black men… sorry. Forgot about the guy with a gun.
That was one cable TV visual that you should be trying to duck. It didn't help you make the point that you are somehow the new mainstream and are not nut-crazy.
Race is an issue to all of us. And anyone who says otherwise is not being truthful. As for blacks and whites "being together", check out the visuals of a Democratic convention. That is what a party looks like that addriess the goals of more than one race. This article is absurd because it illustrates the sheer whiteness of the teabagger movement.
Yeah, too bad a black man named David Webb co-organized the NYC tea party.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=66pEybygy7E
Another lefty who hates when blacks don't conform to their expectations of them (which are pretty damn low).
Ditto here, with a native American background on one side, and the other side is pure immigrant like the rest of us who are non-native Americans. Our Tea Parties have had a complete mix of people of all colors/backgrounds, including the speakers. The elites have nowhere to run, so they must use the racist/astroturf/GOPfunded/think of any other label monikers to deride the movement. And….just because things appear quiet on the Tea Party front right now, boy-oh-boy they are really not, and I hope no-one makes the mistake of believing this. Or not?
If you have a Tea Party on the National Mall on a weekend, you might as well have it in the middle of the Sahara Desert.
If you don't like MSNBC then change the channel… go watch Fox News. MSNBC loves calls and e-mails from righties complaining about liberal programing. They use your numbers to justify higher advertising rates.
No one at MSNBC believes that all they need to do to get teabaggers to tune in is fire Chris Matthews. And it's all about the ratings.
Oh, good one! You can write for that hack Bill Maher with funnies like that.
Chris Matthews is a dumb son of a bitch! Period! He can kiss my mother fucking ass!
And there you have it, in black and white.
If by diverse you mean blonds AND redheads.
I look forward to the day when MSNBC is replaced by reruns of Gilligan's Island. The ratings would go through roof compared to now.
Like I said, more black folks on the stage than in the crowd.
Great article Bob. Like to see more from you. Don't waste your time with this loser (no one with a brain watches him anyway). Why help improve his low ratings. Don't dignify his statements – no need, as everyone knows he's a moron. Continue to do what you do with your head held high. There are many, many Americans (all backgrounds) that are waking up!
I'm sorry, that's the funniest thing I have read all day.
"That is what a party looks like that addriess the goals of more than one race" — Oh, you slay me with that line. Tell me why the 10 most crime ridden and the 10 poorest cities are predominantly Democrat and have been for a while.
I eagerly anticipate youe response blaming Republicans and/or Libertarians.
If by majority you mean 98 percent then I can buy that. But I would still be surprised if you even counted the police and DC onlookers and the maintenance crews if you could find 200 blacks at that rally (2 percent of 10,000).
This may not be PC, but just like blacks, there are more than one shade of white.
As of 2008 the American population is 75 percent white and we are getting less white every year. The Republican party is more in the range of 92-95 percent white. Diversity is a point of pride for the Democratic party.
Who's Chris Matthews again?…Oh yeah he's that guy on that cheesy infomercial station, MSDNC, right? I never buy what they're selling.
So what if they were white, who cares? Disgruntled white citizens count for less, somehow?
Are they out of fashion, Chris?
When there's a legalization rally in LA,, does Fox News say
"yeah, but it was just a bunch of Mexicans"-?
What a waste of time you are, Tingles- you big dope. Keep your self-loathing to yourself,
I've got no reason to make any apologies for my heritage…
http://reaganiterepublicanresistance.blogspot.com...
He and Brooks make a great pair don't they? Over at PJM I skewer Brooks' latest piece claiming all tea party types are uneducated.
I went out to youtube and picked a teabagger rally video at random. It turned out to be a march in Austin for Ron Paul. I watched for 2+38 and if a non white person marched by this camera I missed it. Maybe you can find someone I missed.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uvGS12EoZUE
I'm not saying baggers are all white because they exclude people of color. I'm sure they would love to have more representation from minorities. They are all white because people of color won't join them.
Poor mikatollah. I do sense a gnashing of teeth from the real bigots and haters. Con artists and pathalogical
liars just cant stand to be found out and it shows from the comments by this analcrainialencephlamotic buffoon.
A teabagger is an angry right wing rally goer who likes to dress up with teabags dangling from their headgear and parade around in front of the cameras holding signs with dead babies and Nazi symbols on them.
Pretty bold talk from a typist. Only cowards threaten when there is no risk.
I don't get your point. Teabagging is a hate crime? I think victims of hate crimes would disagree.
Im sure you would not have forgotten if it was a white man holding that gun. You fit right in with the rest of the pathologicals.
Spiritual meaning? Your meaning comes through loud and clear. So turn off MSNBC.
Bold words sage… sounds like projection to me.
Awwww… you have a black friend. That's so sweet!
Great point!
Teabag diversity? You mean herbal AND mint? Please join the Republican party. Ideologues are poison to a political party that depends on compromise to form electoral coalitions. The first time you don't get your way you will go home and pout… and blog.
Thanks for tuning in….
Dems don't choose people of color, they choose us. And that is really the whole point.
The only teabaggers I know are the trolls that vistit this site ( I am making an assumption, but it's a high probability guesstimate )
The Medias broad sweeping statements about who is what politically is par for course, nice to see someone challenging them, I doubt you will get any takers but if you let us know!
Chris Matthews is an Avatar. Does that mean that we should call him "Blue"?
Is that the worst insult you can muster for Matthews… that he is female? You shouldn't need to wonder why 55 percent of American women voters are Democratic. It's that attitude or yours.
Right on brother sims… white power.
Mr. Tingles appears to know a great deal about this deviant homosexual practice. Kinda makes ya think, yes?
A teabagger who won't watch MSNBC… now there is a shocker. Hardly worth blogging about.
It gets better! Noting like a little, "I'm rubber and you're glue" in an adult conversation.
You are one angry little bagger…
Not everyone thinks like you Lew. There are enough of us to keep Chris on TV until he decides to give it up.
He is manic, isn't he!
Are u mad yet? Show everyone by picking up some anti-Dem stuff at:
http://www.keep2theright.com
Just as well. Chris doesn't advertise gold or boner pills, so you wouldn't be interested.
Good job Dave… way to find Asians in Hawaii.
Hey Miholea! I happen to live near one of those shithole dying cities. Detroit, ever hear of it? This city along with a littany of others are shining examples of the failure of evil socialist democrat policies.
Insideous policies designed to create a class of weak, childlike, dummed down, dependent citizens.
What a f-ing nightmare. Stuff that in your Hooka Pal
You're an idiot. Your "dear leader" is 50% white, 43% Arab Muslim and only 7% Black. 43% MUSLIM you yoyo. The black people in this country are realizing this elitist a$$ does not care one iota about the black race in this country but are afraid to speak out. Wait till 2010 elections.
No, you're right Dan. Republicans have pretty much washed their hands of the inner cities. And who cares about Libertarians. They only generate a few dozen votes on election day and live largely in self imposed political exile.
Now Eye, that is one cool word. I may have to steal it…
They are my people.
No he won't because if he came out of the closet, then he would be a bigger hypocrite than he is already. I wish he would though. Matthews tingles would turn into coronary attacks.
Thanks, good to know. You got the hemorrhoid part right.
Ouch.. good one guest. Can I call you guest?
Can you read? That's why it says " express your love OR disdain". If you love Tingles, please email them your love—ComCast can give rats-ass about his ratings—bottom line, baby! No subscribers, no cable installers, maybe, no idiots.
Thank Youuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!
DID ANYONE NOTICE THIS? LOL!
http://predictablehipster.wordpress.com/2010/01/0...
I TRIED TO EXPLAIN IT A FEW MONTHS BACK!
http://predictablehipster.wordpress.com/2009/09/1...
MSNBC = MANY SHOWS NO BLACKS CHANNEL
If Chris said they were all white then (dagnabbit) they were all white. You must be mistaken.
Well I'm sure I wouldn't know what you are talking about.
When you remember it was people like Mathews and the people he worked for, who wrote the Jim Crow laws it all makes sense.
The guy is a complete fool.
That is what you got from my comment? Really? I said Obama girl, meaning Obama cheerleader. By being such a sensitive Victim and by deconstructing my sentence you must be a Feminist, the Liberal kind.
Hmmmmm… think the decline of Detroit could have had something to do with the loss of market share of the American auto manufacturing industry? I think if you are really honest you will admit that the car industry has more to do with the fortunes of Detroit than anything a godless liberal could have done there.
You're funny Con, thanks. Better get that sticky keyboard looked at…
SHARANOIA RUNS DEEP!!
http://predictablehipster.wordpress.com/2009/09/1...
"white 79.96%, black 12.85%, Asian 4.43%, Amerindian and Alaska native 0.97%, native Hawaiian and other Pacific islander 0.18%, two or more races 1.61% (July 2007 estimate)" Thats from the last reported census.
Whats that BS about Diversity in the Democratic party? Thats why it was Democrats that opposed the Civil Right act. Having a large supposed diversity means little if your main goal is to keep certain people a permanent social underclass subservient to the governement.
Chris Matthews is correct in his own mind because of the Liberal mindset that any black, hispanic or other non-white who is conservative is not a TRUE black, hispanic or non-white.
Chris Matthews is also a major, MAJOR douchebag.
Only weak-a$$ little cowardly racists like you act with the assurance of impunity from your mama's basement.
They were EXACTLY the same people- DEMOCRATS. The same folks who fought against Civil Rights, in fact.
My mistake Sergio…If I misread your post and I apologize.
You've made me… I'm a lib. Through and through. But no one has ever suggested I'm a feminist… least of all my ex-wife. I'll have to think on that, but you could be right.
If you have a tabby cat, and she has six kittens, how many catsup bottles will it take to raise the frame rate of you're another racist nutjob? Is this number greater than the dividend of get the heck back on to your hospital floor and take your Lithium.
Oh, sure, bring up "white crackers" but give no props to the Matzoh.
He didn't say "tingle," he said "tinkle!"
Right on sims!
Sims, meet mikatollah. He's generally racist but anti-Semitic in particular. Be sure and give him (?) all the respect and civility due to such a waste of good carbon.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=66pEybygy7E
What do you see here?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=66pEybygy7E
What do you see here?
The guy with the gun was a liberal.
"They are all white because people of color won't join them. "
In other words, minorities are racists?
I'm Hispanic and I am in solidarity with the tea parties, government has overstepped its bounds.
You could probably name all of the black people in the movement… thanks for making my point.
Me too… and I do love my gun collection.
Of course not. They are making rational choices based on their best interest… just like we all do.
They haven't forgotten the southern racist Democrats who fought against civil rights and voting rights, and now form the base of the Republican party.
People like Chris Matthews are so ridden with white guilt it's impossible for them to see a person of race for what they are good or bad. White guilties are forever asking for forgiveness and can;t fathom how another white person can look past race and judge someone on merit ,we should also be asking for forgiveness and if you don't you are a racist
Then why the disdain for all the people of color who choose the Conservative point of view? I have heard far more racial hatred for those who are conservative than those who lean to the liberal side.
mikatollah
If you are going to go around making Teabag comments, you can at least take the time to fill out your description.
Matthews is the ideologue. He is the one with the tin foil hat and cup of Kool-Aid.
We do not have to compromise to move forward. That is how we got the rinos.
You are blogging, right? Are you working out your personal angst or is that your confession? Are you speaking metaphorically?
WAY TO GO BOB!!! You should chronicle how long it takes Crissy Matthews to respond!!! Thanks for the Smackdown!!!
There are not enough of them to disdain.
You hear only what you want to hear.
Ouch… somebody needs a hug. Tread you are going to pop a vein if you don't dial it down a notch. My opinions are my own and shouldn't move others to over agitation. I want everyone to get home safely this evening.
And so does MLK…
Fair enough:
http://www.hotberry.com
The Godless liberals run the UAW. THEY killed the auto industry by insisting they get paid (very well) for non-skilled labor.
Why is it that the liberals seem to have forgotten that it was the Democrats who perpetuated slavery and fought hard to keep it? Or that dems were the KKK? It was the Republicans who fought for freedom and equal rights for blacks. And libs are still trying to keep minorities enslaved by give away programs and 'entitlements'. Only by knowing the truth and all of us, white, black, hispanic, and others working together can we defeat this cancer of progressivism destroying our country!
I'm fed up now with liberals thinking that Hating Whitey makes them cool. It's time to make a youtube video montage of these lefties saying "white" over and over, or "monochrome" — or, in Lindsey Graham's case, Angry "Watt" People. Do these white guys think that if they diss white people it makes them less white? Makes them cool and maybe almost black?
Time to call them on it. It would be a great parody for Rachel.
What makes me the saddest and angriest over this administration and the whole campaign is the utter WASTE of POTENTIAL. There's a mixed-race guy in the White House. What a perfect opportunity to really move past race. But no. He's a giant race-baiter. He's almost as racist as Robert Byrd or Louis Farrakhan. And the LYING. It's not even like they TRY to think of plausible lies anymore. There was such an opportunity to turn things around, and they just completely went the opposite way and said to the American people, "Psyche! We're gonna pound you as hard as we can for the next two years and y'all can't do NUTHIN' suckers!"
He's only looking for blacks. He's obsessed with black tea partiers. It's part of the imbalance.
Godless liberals?… that is a badge of honor my friend.
Not really!!
This tired bit of disingenuous "history" was refuted a few comments back–and anyone who knows history already knows that the southern democrats of that era weren't the liberal dems of today. Matter of fact, they switched and became what are the republicans of today.
But chances are you already knew that, but chose to be disingenuous. Stay classy.
Just like a liberal! Always TAKING FROM SOMEONE ELSE!
Looks like the potus gave RAHM a night away from the "big house" …………….. TROLL!!……..
So I am assuming you are conservative, I could be wrong.
I have lived my whole life in the Air Force. I am the mother of 5 grown kids and a conservative. I don't do herbal. I attended the Tea Parties and didn't even know what teabagging was. I still don't know what the official definition is and don't want to.
I am proud to have been to the Tea Parties and believe me the people were diverse. That does not mean that we compromised anything! I personally brought 5 different flags and waved and yelled "God Bless You", to those who honked. We pledged to the flag before lining the street. What is wrong with that?
Only white? Geez, did anybody tell Lloyd Marcus?
You can't count, can you?
The author of this article is black; so is his son. Both were at a Tea Party, as were many other black people. One of the great singers, who performed at all of the Tea Parties, happens to be black. But race isn't what the Tea Parties are all about, so unlike you, we don't pay all that much attention to it.
The thing is, ONLY lefty racists make a thing about race; the rest of us don't…………unless some lefty racist starts screaming about it.
I am just so sure that Chris Matthews has become "unhinged." Between the spittle from his mouth when he speaks, as well as the screeching, as well as the totally uninformed, full of errors, stories he does. I truly think he needs professional help.
No, not really; you have no idea how many of each race went to the Tea Parties.
GOod one, KCBoomer!
Bag on your head mikatollah (Ayatollah?). From what I read you are black ( or muslim) and think Obongo the Muslim will lead you to utopia. He won't. He is way above you..just look at the way he looks down on people with that nose of his. Just because his wife is black, doesn't mean shit. She is just along for the ride and he is a Soros puppet and too stupid to realize he will be thrown under the NWO bus eventually. Better yet, the Patriotic bus.
Hispanics ( which is a misnomer, NOT a "race" , and a ridiculous category ) are a faster growing part of the American populace than blacks and will far out number blacks ( except that there are black, white, Asian, Mestizo, and all kinds of mixed race Hispanics, so the whole thing is silly ) in a couple of decades or less.
Not all that long ago, the Dems became the party of freaks and radical lunatics. You're welcome to that title.
Call people names to their face or you are a punk . On the wrong day with the wrong person you or whoever likes calling people these kinds of names might be taught to treat people with respect.
Do you really find it hard to see why people are upset with multi- trillion dollar deficits, the waste and corruption and representatives who do not care what their constituents think? Do you really find it that hard to understand that people get mad when people only can answer real issues with name calling? If you have to call people names and do not have the intellectual capacity to answer their arguments maybe you need to study up.
Sorry, ACORN and SEIU wouldn't share their taxpayer funded buses to bring in people of color to any events.
I'd rather be a tea bag that a douche bag like Matthews!
Yes, Matthews is a racist.
You're welcome………………………………
I was raised to see people as good or bad, interesting or not ; race was never anything to judge anyone by and I'm past my "salad days", so this predates all of the "CIVIL RIGHTS" stuff of the '60s .
For some weird reason, lefties always bring up race, yet they are the ones who instituted JIM CROW LAWS, did everything they could, to prevent blacks from voting, and even now, do what they can to keep blacks "down", and use them.
No, it was largely caused by the greedy, grasping, goldbricking, productivity-destroying unions. Together with Michigan's nightmare taxes and red tape, and CAFE standards. In case you hadn't noticed, the American auto manufacturing industry is doing just fine in Kentucky, South Carolina, Alabama…. but the nameplates on those American made (and well-made, because not union-made) cars happen to be in foreign languages.
Fool.
Just goes to show, Matthews is not only a liar, but a coward also.
Nobody who votes Democrat is "making rational choices based on their best interest"…..unless their rational choice is to be a parasite on the productive sector.
Thank you, a fact that is so conveniently forgotten.
They are the ones that were against Civil Rights and now they are the ones playing the race card as if it was trump!
You're right. Today's Democrats have brand-new plantations to keep black folks on.
That's liberal logic for ya. Thanks.
THIS COMMING ELECTION TRUE AMERICANS NEED TO EXPOSE THE PROGRESSIVES IN ALL ELECTED POSITIONS FROM COURTROOMS TO THE WHITEHOUSE…… ON BOTH SIDES OF THE ISLE AND IN THE MIDDLE……….. AUDIT THE FED…….
AND GET TRUE AMERICANS WHO FOLLOW THE OATH…
TRUE AMERICANS DONT WANT OUR COUNTRY TO BE LIKE ANY OTHERS.
TRUE AMERICANS WANT TO BE AMERICANS AND NOT ?/AMERICANS…..
Well then, let your people go!
I didn't watch the last damn sitcom in Denver, but the pictures I saw afterward showed a full-fledged Marxist standing in front of some cardboard-cutout acropolis, trying to make himself look something like Apollo. Unfortunately, it worked, for all the stupid people in America.
My pleasure and I'll go even farther………………………………
Al Gore's father was one of THE most anti-blacks there was, in Congress, who stood in the way olf the Civil Rights Act of '64, along with Bill Clinton's mentor, Senator J. William Fulbright, who was also a racist of huge proportions.
So just who made the difference, in getting the '64 Civil Rights Act passed? THE REPUBLICANS; THAT'S WHO !
The race card has been used, this past year, to such an extent, that being called a "racists", by some cretinous lefty, has made that word meaningless and being "black", now, is also no excuse for anything…..as if it ever was.
The old saw, stated over and over again by the worst racists of all ( blacks ), can no longer be used. They claimed that blacks couldn't ever be racists, because only those in power could be "racists". Well…………………………………..not only is Obama the president, but there are now a huge amount of blacks in positions of power, in the government and out of it. Ergo, by their own crazy "logic", they most assure3dly can be and many are, RACISTS !
I would give you 4 thumbs up if I had them!!
Nice sidestep.
Never own up to the correction, instead point–OVER THERE!
Stay classy, etc. and keep trying to rewrite actual history for poor partisan "gotchas." After all, it's you guys that deal in facts, right, not those "libs" who can't have an adult conversation? Yeah, right.
I'm a Navy Vietnam Vet and you are Air Force, as I remember that combination never did get along. So you're not into Gilligan reruns. No need to take it personal, if Chris wants to defend himself that's up to him. You do have to admit Gilligan is more entertaining.
Thank you; I'll take the will for the deed.
I just posted facts, which I have no need to look up, since I lived through that ear and have a very good memory.
Libtards may write the school books that have polluted the minds of two generations, but there are still people, like me, who lived through the ears that are lied about and it is incumbent upon me and others, to tell the truth.
Hey ding dong. It's Tea Partiers, not Teabaggers.
Doesn't Chrissy work for MSNBC, aren't they the ones edited a photo so you could not see the color of a mans skin in Arizona the one of the guy with a gun and claimed it was a white racist with a gun threatening Obama turned out it was a Patriotic Black man exercising his 2nd ammendmnet rights at a Tea party rally, trust me if they have the photos they will have shopped you right out of the photo, probably replaced you with a nice bigoted sign so it fits their narrative better.
It is not disingenuous, it is fact. You, like the White House is doing and Nancy Pelosi does every time she opens her mouth, can attempt to refute the truth but you can't change history. Dems have worked hard to try to eradicate their history but the fact remains that they still own slaves, just in a different way. They own them by keeping them ignorant, feeding them propaganda and making them dependent so they get their votes.
Do a little research on Senator Byrd, a former Klan member or George Wallace. The movie "Birth of a Nation" was based on books written by Thomas Dixon Jr. who said his purpose in writing them was "to revolutionize northern sentiment by a presentation of history that would transform every man in my audience into a good Democrat!" Or look at the actual votes of Congress regarding civil rights and desegregation. The facts speak for themselves.
Oh and you really should realize that the liberal Dems represent only about 20% of the population; very much in the minority. It is their abuse of power and their outrageous overreaching power grab that will trigger their downfall and it is coming SOON!
is this true? i didnt hear anything about it and its not in their press releases. if it is im done with comcast.
[...] word is getting around… Matthews whitewash — Inside The Beltway, Washington Times Matthews: All ‘Teabaggers’ White? Maybe Not… — Big Government Matthews: All ‘Teabaggers’ White? Maybe Not… — Canada Free Press [...]
I was a bit of a sideshow when I was on active duty (call sign "Lefty"). But we had fun with it.
My company is in Houston, I live in west Texas. I'm still a freak show at parties as ALL of our friends are Republicans. I tell them I'm just a beacon of light in a sea of west Texas darkness… but they don't buy it.
Andreaen you are a great American.
So much rage in one blogger…
You mean like teabagger? Kind of gets under your skin doesn't it…. good.
How are you thebarbarian? I've seen you on other sites where some referred to you as barb.
"The facts speak for themselves."
Yes they do, and you're trying to tie the yesteryear party of Southern Democrats to the current party which is disingenuous and you know it.
Do you really think those dixie-crats of the past would be in the party of Obama and Pelosi? Of course you don't–you're just playing deceptive little word games and sleazy semantics to hide the fact that those old school democrats would be the heroes of a website like this if it had existed back then.
But then again, you know that. It's just sad partisan wordplay.
Well, I may be foolish, but I know they are not building American cars at those other places.
As for cafe standards, they have been stagnant since the 1980s and we haven't seen any drastic mileage increases since that time. Proof that the only way you get the auto industry to increase fuel economy is to set higher standards and enforce them with government regulations. Sad, but true.
Unions set standards that the entire industry has to meet in order to compete. So even if you are not working in a union shop, you should still thank the unions for raising the standard of living for all American workers.
Oh thank-you. I was reading thru and just looking for someone to bring this up. Frankly, the crew at MSNBC is biggoted, and further, fully vested in the current head up thebutt attitude towards the terorists trying to kill us, since that's what their Great Obama wants. They've gambled their entire professional reputations on Obama's place in history. Under no circumstances will they admit the man is a menace.
And further, they have a vested interest in damning anyone who criticizes said menace. Then they have an economic personal stake here, named Immelt. Not one of these people can get a job anywhere else now, since they've gone like lemmings for the socialist agenda. Who'd hire them?
Sanger was a progressive. Her foray into eugenics was weird, but she was a pioneer in birth control and Planned Parenthood and for that she is owed a debt by modern women.
Don't be so bitter Boh. Life is too short.
Good one Jim… you made me laugh.
You bet!!! This the United States of America, not the USSR, Africa, South America or Yemen. I love my country and I respect the Constitution, not the NWO agenda. Anyone who thinks we need to be socialized and Muslimized can go to hell. Our forefathers didn't shed their blood for nothing and we will take our country back from all you. We salute the flag, not like the userper who holds his hand over his crotch.
So whatever you say in your calm, methodical way will not win over anyone that is a patriot. If you feel this country is not good enough for you, please leave.

It did work pretty well. He raised $150 million more that the other guy and then beat him by almost 10 million votes. The electoral collage was almost a landslide. I was sitting in a hotel room in Lubbock watching the election returns come in and I will never forget the feeling of joy and pride in my country I felt that night
I'm guessing your evening didn't go as well?.
Absolutely I think those dixie-crats of the past would be in the party of Obama and Pelosi today! Their defense of Roe v Wade mirrors their defense of the Dred Scott decision and Aberman v Booth not to mention Plessy v Fergusson. Nancy Pelosi, commenting on the recent Kelo case said that the rulings of the Supreme Court are inviolable and tantamount to "the voice of God". So I guess she is saying that God believed that a man could be 'property'. From her mindset, it makes sense. If one man can own another then of course a woman can kill her unborn child. The rhetoric and tactics they used in defense of slavery are the same ones used today in defense of abortion.
With regard to the KKK and liberals today… If you want to see where true hate comes from, one needs only to look to the left. The majority (note that I do not say all) of the ugliness in politics today comes from the left. A prime example is the left's delight in using the term 'tea bagger", a crude, vulgar slang reference that most decent people don't even understand. You can delight in using it but it simply shows your lack of class and civility. Talk about partisan wordplay…
Alright Lew! Number two daughter is in the navy medical corps. Of course it broke dad's heart when she was seduced by the dark side, but I am so proud of her. She's a family practice doc at Corpus Christi NAS.
No copper…. I said rage, not pride. I meant you are angry, you know, full of hate. I see it a lot here so it's not like you are some kind of freak or anything. You fit in here like a glove.
I have 2 girls and a boy. Isn't it funny how God has a way of teaching us lessons. Now see, there is something we can agree on. A daughter that makes you proud and even makes this ole Salt smile, she makes great choices. "GO NAVY". Nice to banter with you, but it's my bedtime.
You don't get under my skin because I honestly feel sort of sorry for you. You are either really immature or you have some sort of tragic background. When you grow up and want to discuss an issue , you might have something to listen to. You are a great representative for the Dems.
You can decide for yourself which it is:
http://www.hotberry.com
"If you want to see where true hate comes from, one needs only to look to the left."
Beck, Rush, Hannity, Ann Coulter, this site, any number of examples…yeah. Pretty leftist.
"A prime example is the left's delight in using the term 'tea bagger", a crude, vulgar slang reference that most decent people don't even understand. You can delight in using it but it simply shows your lack of class and civility. Talk about partisan wordplay…"
Spend ten seconds over at any rightwing site a la Freerepublic–or even at these various BigWhatever sites– and you can find dozens of hateful examples of namecalling, much worse than "teabagger." (Which I never used, by the way.) Even take a look at some of those incorrectly spelled Tea Party signs, and you'll find plenty of hateful commentary.
Though, helpful hint–a person might think twice about naming your protest movement close to something that practically makes fun of itself. Add on top of that some of the silly behaviour of said movement, you're kind of asking for it.
(Again, I don't use the phrase. Silly juvenile nicknames is a Limbaugh tactic I don't approve of.)
its about taxes too!
And all MSNBC opinionaters are ………..whoops………..white.
what a jerk!
… not Mr. Parks … I meant Mr. Matthews is a jerk!
I appreciate that.
I just turned 51 and I feel like I was at the edge of the change. I know that the only reason I learned about the revolution and a bit about the constitution is that I lived in Virginia as a small child. Washington DC and it's museums were my playground. It was the first history I knew.
I grew up in Texas where, thank God, it is still the heart of the Bible belt. Morals and values are still important. Your word is your bond and a deal was still sealed with a hand shake.
Some of my kids are confused about America. I talk to them all of the time about our country. Unfortunately, some are still confused. Months ago I had a conversation with my eldest about anarchy. He understood it to be more of a libertarian view instead of what it is, total chaos, the ripping apart of order. He actually believed what I did, but was caught up in semantics.
Keep spreading the truth!! We need it!!!!
I don't know what the lowlife dirtbag mikatolla said to get his comment deleted by the mods on this site. But I'm sure his masters will reward him. for being a good troll
Interesting thing about Sen. Byrd. He has repented and called the klan meetings he attended the biggest mistake of his life. George Wallace got right with the black folks in Alabama before he died. None of this excused their bad behavior. But we are a forgiving people if someone asks for forgiveness.
Now Strom Thurmond was a different deal. There is some evidence he regretted his past, but he never publicly renounced his 1948 states right platform that he ran for President on. He also became a Republican over his opposition to civil rights. In fact, there was a sea change in voter registration with southern whites moving to the Republican party and blacks to the Democratic party. Today the once solid Democratic south is now firmly in the Republican column. The change was just about complete by 1995.
So you see, "facts" sometime lie.
nuet…my friends on the new and old 912 can get away with that. it was a habit on the old 912 when was having lots of troubles. you had start your reply with persons name so they knew you were replying to them. it was a mess. I am fine…. just spreading the word in the no man's land..how can I help you.?
Not sure which comment you are referring to Bill. If I violated any rules I am unaware of it. From what I've seen here the moderators will put up with a lot before they boot a blogger. They even sent me a note thanking me for my contribution. So I must be a great American!
I'm a bit older than you are ( not a whole lot, but enough, so that factual history was still being taught in schools and it was the oddball/rare teacher who attempted to spread lefty propaganda.
Like you, I spent a lot of my early years in museums; just in a different local. I was also lucky enough to be a member of a family who was interested in many things and who took the time to make their interest interesting for the children. And yes, I followed in those steps, with my own.
Might I suggest that you get your eldest interested by the true history of anarchy ? There are a couple of "funny" movies about that, as well as some very serious ones. TCM does show both and it's a good way to get the ball rolling, so that you can then really talk about the subject.
"LADY L" is one such; it's a funny/silly movie, but can be used as a jumping off point. TCM is showing this movie on Jan. 26th, at 7:30 AM. You can record it and watch it any time.
There's a good serious one about anarchists, with Lon Chaney, but it's a silent and it's kind of difficult getting today's kids interested in silent films.
If I can help out more, just let me know.
when are they gonna get it … i'm glad to hear that there were black people there. I hope there were green people there too. It doesnt matter. this is about freedom. right and wrong. not about color.
its about freedom … plain and simple
Right now I am trying to get someone on another blog to understand that terrorist are not civilians and should not be granted full rights.
I have been hitting my head against this wall for some time. It is frustrating.
It is on a KOMO Seattle blog about the Pentagon. I am ready to give up on her.
She brings up WWII, the Japanese and waterboarding. I told her that I doubted the Japanese had doctors standing there making sure that the prisoners are treated well. I don't remember us doing any Bataan Death Marches either.
My head hurts!
Obviously — you were not there. . .if you were you would know the truth. Just like a Libtard — imposing how you feel as fact — ignoring the real facts of the day.
Grow up!
Exactly.
And as far as abortion, you have to buy the (false) premise that it's only liberals/democrats that support, vote for, or have it performed. Which it isn't. Which is why, for better or worse, it's the law of the land even today, even through all the times republicans were in power.
Republicans make a big show about being against abortion in the same way they're "against" illegal immigration–they pander to their base with no intention of getting rid of either or even doing anything about it, because they "benefit" from both practices–and it gives them fake issue to rail about (fake because they have no intention of doing anything about it other than cynically use it to "red-meat" up some votes from the crowd that falls for it every single time).
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm……WWII ?
Three ( I think it was three, might have been four ) Germans came ashore, dressed in civies, intent on committing terrorist acts here. They were caught and FDR had them tried and killed by a firing squad in three or four days. Does that help any?
The Japanese treated those whom they captured, whether they may be civilians or military, appallingly ! They even put civilians, women and children, into what was tantamount to concentration camps and damned near starved and worked them to death.
Nope, we didn't do any "death marches".
Korea was pretty bad too, re North Korean and Chinese torturing our captured guys. Water torture, wooden slivers under fingernails, broken bones…….all of that and no Geneva Convention Rules were followed.
The German treatment of captured Americans, Brits, French, etc., was no "STALAG 17" !
Oh he likes to read? That's great ! Let me think about itg and perhaps I can come up with some books which might catch his interest.

Great you should learn to use a little more discression when you speak of Tea Partiers, your speech is deliberately inflamitory and offensive. If you had any class at all you would comport youself in a more respectful manner.
This is America everyone has a right to their opinion, but you sir could stand to use a higher level of discourse. My mother would be dissapointed in me if that was the best I coud do in expressing my opinon.
Democrats are progressives. It seems the only one wishing to confuse the issue is you.
But nice try. History still records the Democrats as opposing and Martin Luther King as a Republican. All your BS about the parties switching is just that BS. It is what you have been told to believe to accept the fact that the only way for Democrats/Progressives/Liberals or what ever you call yourself to stay in power is that you need an uneducated permanent social underclass incapable of doing for themselves. Since the democrats will lose any black with an education. You seek to replenish the numbers with illegal aliens.
So by your warped rational if a senator or congress person from the south is a democrat they are not a racist but if they are republican they are? Or is everyone from the south just a racist period unless they are black?
The first "tea party" was during Ron Paul's 2008 campaign, on the anniversary of the original protest, and the people who supported his run were probably the most diverse group of individuals I've ever seen.
People like Matthews can't grasp the fact that freedom from an overbearing government is not a race-specific issue. The most conducive environment for oppression of any kind to occur is when the government is massively empowered over the individual.
Forget about this stumble bum Matthew's. He's like all the Great Sensitive Lefties. They live in a 1960's nostalgic Time Warp.
Wow I once got a form letter from Ed McMahon. It did not mean I was a millionaire.
Thanks!
I have gotten Paris 1919, Infamous Scribblers and the other one. I have to start reading.
The Nixon book
Hey, my ancestors came from Europe, but I live in Arizona so I thinking that I have some color and I am not cold.
What's a tea bagger? Some derogatory term invented by godless Liberals. Guess what people, Bob Parks, if you even humor such terms then they will stick. DO NOT RESPOND TO THEIR SICKNESS. They will not drag us down.
Oh good….you're in for a great time and you'll learn a lot !
I've got some Christmas books to read, myself.
The "NIXON" book? "THE SILENT COUP", or did I recommend another one, such as "IT DIDN'T START WITH NIXON"…a book about how quite a few previous presidents, recorded their conversations too ?
Game on! Way to go! He cannot accommodate you, though; his allegiances are to Alinsky.
Hello, Mr Mathews of MSNBC. Guess what? Your program is censored and not allowed on my TV! LOL
Don't tell your sponsors, ok, as I no longer even know who they are and I don't care. I like the Undie Bomber more than you, well only becuz he was quite incompetent….and Mr Mathews, The Christian Profilers have profiled you as: "Educated Above Your Maturity"! We are now protected by Psalms 91! A simple prayer that allows your negatiive words to bounce back to you, and eventually making you to fall into the pit that you have dug for others….Say Bye Chris Mathews. Mr Bob Parks should get the Hero of the Year Award, right now, even tho' the year has barely started!
Chris Matthews is clearly off his meds again!
Mr. Parks,
Thank you for the article. Sincerely.
maybe chrissy would like a live demonstration of exactly what a tea bagger really is with him on the bottom…
Thanks for bringing this up. BTW. You are one cool dude Mr. Parks.
Shout out to Chris Mathews. If you would like I have several dozen photos that I took myself of those American citizens you are calling "Tea Bags." Of course you will make an issue of the fact that the Tea Party Protest was in Honolulu. In Honolulu of course you will get people there who are not "white" (WHATEVER THE HECK THAT MEANS ANYMORE).
Unless you think that Asians and the Polynesians are part of the vast right wing conspiracy (can you believe Hillary had the ballz to say that?) I think you had better come to a quick new reality. The only SPAM that is becoming in disfavor in Hawai'i is the kind spewing from your network. I am hearing it more and more here.
Hahahahaha! You just keep making me laugh. So by washing their hands of the inner cities, do they just not run a candidate on election day in these cities? So it's their fault corrupt Democrat machines run these cities without giving a slightest damn about the people?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kwame_Kilpatrick
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sheila_Dixon
And since I live in NJ about 15 miles from Newark which has been a Democratic stronghold for God knows how long. They were run by a guy who personfied fraud and allowed the city to go to Hell: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sharpe_James, who was the highest paid politician and lived like a king while the city crumbled around him.
I'm way too lazy, but just look at every from Chicago since say the 50s.
Exactly, I tweeted this one last night. http://twitpic.com/wv9w0
There were more blacks than whites on plantations in the south, doesn't mean it was a "diverse" environment, or that black people were listened to or cared about much past their labor.
Perhaps you should pay more attention to a republican who wished that men be judged by the content of their character rather than the color of their skin…
Mr. Parks,
Great article. I too, went to Tea Parties and saw the same diversity. Nothing but Americans that love their country .
I do have my moments, don't I?
If it were so…who cares if they were all white.
You made me laugh copper…. thanks for that. Bag on my brother.
You're funny Con, thanks. Better get that sticky keyboard looked at…
The Silent Coup
Crispus Attucks rolls over in his grave….
The name Kenneth Gladney ring a bell, moron?
Don't confuse Democrats with Progressives. The Civil Rights legislation was a struggle between Progressives from both parties against conservatives, mostly southern Democrats. By the way, civil rights kicked off a realignment of the parties, and you know where all those racist southern Democrats landed? They now form the base of the Republican party.
After signing Civil Rights into law, LBJ lamented, "I fear we have lost the south for a generation". Well, it's been two generations and still counting.
But nice try.
Its about time that we acknowledge that blacks have brains and can think for themselves. We don't have to fall into line as Jessie or Al's "yes men." The freedom to live and think as we wish is the American dream – please don't continue to enslave us by keeping us in a "black" box…
I am an AMERICAN! Period!! No need to add anything in FRONT of my name to prove that…I have a birth certificate to prove that!
I haven't "made" your point because the only point you have is that you are an ignorant, racist, bigoted fool who is proud of the fact that he is an ignorant, racist and bigoted fool. You DON'T know who Ken Gladney is and you don't care. Anyone who tries to educate you wastes their time. Stay stupid, fool.
So, you think us tea party folks should start busing to even things up? Why not FREEDOM of assembly and leave the race baiting to those that respond to such nonsense. Do don't think we should stay home just because there aren't enough blacks present. I didn't see MLK stay home because there weren't enough rednecks marching with him.
You're welcome. Just thought I would double your ratings.
Matthews would be that lefty racist.
Thank you for putting it so eloquently.
It is not about race and never was. I was raised not to see color. It is always brought up by the left.
You mean the Progressives who pushed eugenics, and Margaret Sanger's "Negro Sterilisation Project?" Those Progressives?
At least we have Thomas Sowell, Col. Alan West, Larry Elder, Clarence Thomas, J.C. Watts, Bob Parks… to name very few among a long list of sane and able Americans. Apparently race has nothing to do with character, intellect and patriotism. It has everything to do with the common sense of Thomas Paine and recognizing that chains and shackles need not be fashioned from iron to make you a prisoner. They can be forged by oppressive legislation and politics that strip away opportunity.
Fact checkers on the left? That's an oxymoronic statement (and that's not a slam on you). That first word ("fact")isn't even in the lefts vocabulary much less instilled in their character. The left is busy trying to figure out what's being exposed and how to cover it up or to downplay it. When you spin such a big web of deciet – it's hard to keep it all under wraps.
Matthews has such a small base of followers he shouldn't even be given the time of day. Certainly what he says or what his opinion is really doesn't matter unless everyone keeps talking about him. He's kinda like that chigger bite you get on your ankle in the summertime. It itches, but put a little nail polish on it and it dies and goes away.
Thanking the union? I'd rather thank Henry Ford for making cars affordable to everyone or Thomas Edison for inventing the light bulb, or how about Orville Wright for airplanes? Those are the things that changed American life. We now have easy transportation. The only thing I can recently thank a union for is driving the cost of that easy transporation from $3500 in 1970's to $35,000 currently. I paid more for my last Ford Pickup truck than I purchased my first house for in 1983. If that's the standard of living you're talking about, well no thanks.
Hey, don't worry fellow conservative patriots. As a scientists who does not believe in the Church of Tubba Gump's The Climate is Changing, Getting Warmer, Hotter, the Earth's Core is Several Million Degrees (But really 1,700, but who is counting), Man is Causing the Ice Caps to Melt and The Water will Rise (Even Though Ice Caps did not exist during the Jurassic Period and neither did man), Ignore the Medieval Warming Period when no carbon emitting machines existed, the World is Going to End, Save the Planet and the Drowning Polar Bears Religious beliefs I to am now coupled with my fellow patriots as a racist. Here is why. The Progressives most favorite ad hominem attacks is to label the opposition Racists. So now call me Racist because I do not believe in the Religious Reverend Scientists Prosthelytizing Mythical Claims because I hate the color red because that color represents heat and Native Americans were called names by bigots such as "Redskins" and Native Americans practiced the religion of Nature Worship. (I know that is a massive run-on, but I don't care!) Brilliant!
MSLSD is the same network that aired the segment of the man with the rifle. Oh wait, wait, they only showed the rifle. It was Fox news that showed a'black' man with a rifle. "Only the news we want you to see." right Chris?
If Chris Matthews were to suffer the injury he's done to others it would prove God is just.
Feed a man a fish, he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish, he eats for a lifetime.
funny the organizer of our tea party here in fort wayne last april was a black man. hmmmm come to think about it the best conservative organizer here in the fort is black Emery McClendon
I went to Washington that day on a bus from Upstate NY. I sat next to an 81 year old black woman. I can't begin to tell you how much she changed my life. She gets it. She perceives BHO as a "Plantation President". She saw the struggle of the black man and she saw the rights they deserved given to them. Now she see's this president and what he is doing and she is livid and felt compelled to get on the bus and make her stand. I was blessed that day to learn from a woman that had been through the civil rights movement, we should tap more survivors of the civil rights movement and have them tell their stories, what an inspiration.
I guess Matthews missed the Pittsburgh tea party with Alan Keyes as keynote speaker.
I refuse to get into a racial tit for tat with the haters on the left. The Tea Party Movement is an American Movement and all Americans are welcome.
MATTHEWS IS A BIG MOUTH BLABBERING IDIOT. REMEMBER HIS OTHER COMMENTS? Our military is "raiding villages and killing innocent women and children", his praise of Saul Alinsky ( a loathing marxist POS responsible for training some of the worst radical politicians you now see in public office), his "I get a thrill up and down my leg", and so on and so on. MSNBC IS ALSO A JOKE! matthews, olberman, maddow. WHAT A LOONY TOON LINEUP! They wouldn't know honest journalism if it hit them square in their dishonest face! I was at the 9/12 gathering too. I was surronded by intelligent, politically astute, PATRIOTS that love their country and CONSTITUTION. There were people there from every ethnic and social class. SAD THING IS THERE WERE NO CNN, CNBC, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, or CBS crews there. ONLY FOX NEWS. So to matthews and the rest of the MSM clowns, GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT, and when you move your lips, MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT!
Always happy to entertain Dan.
I feel your Jersey pain. I live in area of Texas that has not seen a competitive Democrat since the Johnson administration.
Henry Ford's thinking was revolutionary and changed the face of manufacturing. He could also be abusive and tried to control his workers private life by enforcing behavior and religious activity off the job. Edison was a marvelous inventor, but we would have had the light bulb with or without him.
It is simplistic to blame unions for inflation. And hopefully your wages have increased along with the price of your vehicles. Not everyone's has.
Soooo…. get up and change the channel. This is America where no one holds a gun to your head and forces you to watch MSNBC or any other network. You like Fox News so much then go tune in. Your nonsensical whining is boring.
I salute you, sir, for speaking up. This movement is about a coalition of Americans…not a shade of racism has ever been involved in this movement. We are all patriots.
Oh, I think if you look at the posts on this blog I use far more restraint than most. You are a good example a someone who can't resist using insults when you disagree. If you don't like the level of my discourse then ignore my posts. But for some reason I have really gotten under your skin. It was never my intention. Well, maybe a little bit. I do like to tweak the angry right. So bag on brother bill.
I have read your previous posts and see what others have replied to you about. I DON'T watch MSNBC and wouldn't watch it if you help a gun to my head. I DO WATCH FOX NEWS! I do think the ENTIRE MSNBC network is despicable and loaded with a bunch of left loon liars. Perhaps, that's where you get your news from. It sure sounds like it!
This discussion has gotten confusing because we keep bouncing around in time.
This is a common tactic on the right as they would like us all to forget their historical opposition to social issues like slavery, women's suffrage, social security and Medicare, civil rights etc. Forget about Republican and Democratic. This struggle has always been between ideological opponents; Progressive liberals and Conservatives. The party labels have bounced back and forth over the years, but the ideological agendas have remained true to their definitions: Progressives seek reform and Conservatives seek the status quo. That has never changed.
Your last comment missed my point. Southern conservative Democrats of the early twentieth century have moved. They now form the base of the Republican party. And the south has been solid for Republicans at least since Reagan.
Matthews suffers from verbal diarrhea. And much the same, after he has an episode, he spends twice as long cleaning up the mess.
Great you should learn to speak with a little more discression when you speak of Tea Partiers, your speach is deliberatly inflamitory and offensive. I you had any class at all you would comport youself in a more respectful manner.
Matthews, you appear to be white person who freely expresses his negative opinion about any other white person who doesn't agree with your preference for cool-aid and not tea….. What's your excuse? Your racial bias is shocking.
All are welcome at Tea Party events regardless of culture or political backgrounds……..What's your excuse, Matthews? Maybe it's your miniscule TV ratings………..
The car industry isn't dead, Newton. Japanese companies seem to be doing ok. Why do you think that is? Oh, that's right! No unions. Our country lost market share because we stopped making profitable cars. Plain and simple. Too much overhead, whether it's the suffocating costs of unionizing, or making more expensive, crappier "green" cars, or the fear of unabated lawsuits. No one is driving around magic carpets or floating chariots… cars are still the dominant mode of transportation, so your assertion does not hold water. The decline of the American automobile industry can be empirically linked to liberal government policies, otherwise known as "meddling". Now, religion has nothing to do with this but the negative effect of government meddling in business is well-documented, and undeniable. It's basic economics, which guessing by your assertions, you have never studied. Now, go back to Media Matters…
You aint lying. Theives and cheats and liars..
I'm guessing all those racist southern Democrats did not land in the party of Robert Byrd and Al Gore Sr.?
But nice try.
Correction: A teabagger is a Patriotic American who enjoys figuratively placing his nuts directly on the forehead of teabagee's such as mikatollah, Democrats, and RINOs.
Currently, Texas is economically in the best shape of all the states. And it leans the furthest to the right in terms of policy. Hmmm….
Just Google–"ComCast NBC merger"—You'll get allot of hits, pro & con.
Dear America, please forgive me for not taking the time to attend the rally/march.
I'm more involved now.
Japanese cars do not have $2500 of employee health care built into the price of each vehicle either. Whether the car in assembled in the U.S. or Japan, the Japanese government subsidizes health care costs. Take those costs out of the equation and union factories can compete favorably.
No they are Republicans now….
Our economy rises and falls with the price of oil. When oil hit $16 a barrel in 2001 we were dying here. Our governor then was George W. Bush. So it makes little difference who is in charge of the political process here. When oil hit $100 a barrel we had more revenue than we could possible spend, and the governor was a real dim bulb then… Rick Perry. He managed to create budget shortfalls within a year. Rick is facing a primary and is probably going to lose to Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchinson.
We are a low tax, low service state. 35 percent of us do not have health insurance (#1 in the nation), and only 69 percent of our children graduate from high school (#51). So you take the good with the bad I guess.
So yeah, we are doing well economically as long as the bottom doesn't fall out of the bottom of the price of a barrel of oil.
Mr Mathews is what us rascists would call a dumbass, right, or is it white dumbass?
It's not surprising. Like a good Alinsky-loving leftist, Matthews most likely thinks a black conservative isn't actually black.
Every time Cris Matthews opens his mouth he loses stature. He should take a lead from "Proverbs": "Even a fool who keeps his mouth shut is deemed intellegent".
I attended a tea party protest on tax day in Lansing, MI last year, and there were many black Americans there. I was a newly registered independent (former lib dem) at the time, so I made a point of making the rounds and talking to others to hear what they had to say, and to learn if other former or current dems were there (there were, and they were as peeved as I was at the corruption in the party), and felt as betrayed as I had felt.
How many blacks are commenters on MSNBC?
Well I'm one of those tea baggers, and it pleases me to know that there are a few negros that don't fall for this presidents crap. But on the otherhand if you look at the obama camp it looks like the blacks hold the ranks 10 to 1. It looks like samollia when you see the guests that come to the white house. I'm going to quit referring to it as the white house , and start calling it a den of theives.
Matthews: All ‘Teabaggers’ White? Maybe Not…by Bob Parks: Again, another OUTSTANDING & COURAGEOUS ARTICLE!
What is going on today is not black and white, but it is based on "HATRED"! What is going on today is based upon the American (wrong or right) ideology, that MARXIST IDEOLOGY IS EVIL AND THE OPPOSITE OF IT IS LOVE! IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH SKIN-COLOR!
EVER WONDER WHY AN "IDIOT AND GENIUS" THINK THE SAME? OR THE "RICH AND POOR"?
Now Bob, you aren't really a black man. After all, you don't agree with Obama so you don't count.
I am not full of hate. I am angry, yes. Angry that this administration is blatantly destroying our economy and putting this country at risk. I am angry at all the lies spewed by 'dear leader" and his arrogance. I am angry because so many people have lots their jobs and the governement is growing like a cancer.
I am angry because this country is run by a mob. Look at all the czars….their corrupt backgounds. Napolitano, who doesn't know what she is doing while Obama golfs. Our military getting convicted because they slap a terrorist or shoot one. It's all disgusting, but I do not hate. I love my neighbors be they black, white or green and above all I love my country and the people who are trying to save it from the Marxist-Fascist, terrorist ass-kissing regime in power now.
Because we're better than that.
Well said… you may be someone I can blog with after all.
Good come back Mr.Parks or should I say " touche' ". Isn't it interesting though how we ( real Americans ) think of the people at the Tea Party rallies as simply Americans , ALL OF THEM, no matter the color, and the very people that try to ignore us instantly and constantly catagorize us in racial terms. HMMM.
And the reason they are doing it is to try to devide us, but it wont work, I personally don't care what color you are if you believe in AMERICA and AMERICANS FIRST , then I'll be by your side and damn proud to be.
MSNBC has the market cornered on white only commentators, and Matthews says this?
Me too. But I guess we either all look alike to mr m, or he does not see us at all.
Once upon a time, a journalist seeking information about an event, upon which he intended to comment, would actually attend the event. Matthews criticizes Tea Parties based upon the reporting of a media which is hostile to the Parties. Surprise! He gets information which support his predetermined conclusion. No fair contradicting it with the truth.
But you lose the logic when you say that without that cost difference unions factories would be profitable. The actual reality is our car companies would be much more competitive without the unions, not the other way around. Unions came about in the days of the sweatshops, but those days are clearly a relic of the past. Now, unions are no longer needed. Have unsafe working conditions? You can report them. Hell, you can even show them on youtube. Plus, companies that wish to be successful would pay the wages to secure the best talent. If they don't, they'd go bankrupt, as they should. Unions (and the whole you-can't-fire-me-even-as-I-do-the-bare-minimum mindset) are a pox to be cleansed, not fed. It is NOT a coincidence that private institutions are demonstrably more efficient than bureaucracies… it's common sense
Look obnoxious troll you are the only one confused on facts and history. You are spouting the lies and BS some other progressive idiot told you to say when confronted with the obvious facts that the Democrats did oppose Civil Rights and can only stay in power so long as there is an uneducated social underclass dependent on government help.
The parties did not swich sides and all the racists went to the Republicans and the Democrats are squeeky clean. You are dilusional if you believe that.
The problem with progressives is simple. You are never satisfied. Give you what you want and you still want more.
LOL DTOM , I think they missed your sarcasm! I gave you at least one thumb up though!
On 01/06/2010 Glenn Beck stated a new reality. That Americans are remembering something their mothers taught them when they were kids. “Sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me!” The people are realizing that it doesn’t hurt to be called names and if someone calls you names it is because you are right and they have no correct answer for your position. In the past, people kept quite because they risked their jobs and futures for themselves and their kids if they spoke out. Now, there is nothing to lose and they have had enough. Something of a global nature to be considered. If the world eliminates us, where will their “rejects” go? They will have no place to land so they will stay there and overthrow the government there. Yes, we are the melting pot of the world, but we are also the safety valve of dissent for the rest of the world as well.
I didn't mean to strike up a conversation about Japan's economy. Only used it to try and move us to comparisons of apples to apples. Just like unions are not the sole cause of the problems of the American auto industry, Japanese health care costs are not the reason they are struggling. We had unions in the good old days, and Japan has a tradition of national health care in good times and bad.
Back to the auto industry, the Japanese are kicking our behinds because they make great cars. I own an Accord and a Camry and they have never been in the shop for anything other than scheduled maintenance. One car is three years old and one is eight. I would love to move to a Ford or Chevy next time but I'm pretty nervous about it. My last American car was a 96 Chevy Monte Carlo and I was on a first name basis with my service writer the whole time I owned it.
Again, quality is a management problem. Dissolving unions would not help management make better design or quality control choices.
Private institutions are bureaucracies. Part of the problem GM, Ford and Chrysler has had competing with foreign cars is old time thinking.
I was there, right up front where the stage was. There were two black couples in front of me… one couple about my age (50s) and the other a bit older. Let me tell you… they were actively engaged in what was going on, talking to people around them, smiling and laughing, shouting and yelling and having a good time. The folks around me at the DC Tea Party (on 12 September) were all wonderful people from all across the country. Everybody even picked up their own trash (actually, I think most people who had trash just stuffed it into their bags and disposed of it properly). And there were NO arrests!!! I had a wonderful time. I was so happy to be amongst good American citizens who were genuinely concerned about where their country was going.
Actually, most private institutions are meritocracies. People who do the bare minimum usually end up being jettisoned (pink slipped) from these types of companies. Do you know how hard it is to fire bureaucrat? You can't, which is why they get shuffled around, or laterally promoted, so often.
the liberal unions fucked up the auto industry tool. nice try.
Are unions the only problem? No, but their significance to the decline of the American automotive industry is large. Unions inflate costs. That's basic logic, basic economics. But they also effect management decisions: so plants operating at a loss need to keep losing becuase excess employees (read: union members) cannot be let go to trim and increase efficiency. They are the beast that keeps getting bigger. As for the quality of the cars, more resources could be aimed at quality assurance if they weren't tied up catering to union demands. In Japan, health care costs are just one symptom of their spending problems, you are right there. It's much more complex than that.
You go back and look at my words, you will see that I agreed with you that Democrats did indeed oppose civil rights. Southern Democrats.
I'm not sure what has you so angry, but perhaps it was when I mentioned the ideological shift between the parties that occurred after civil rights legislation was signed by LBJ. Blacks moved to the Democratic party and southern Democrats moved to the Republican party. That is not my opinion, that is our history. You can see it every four years when we vote for president. The south is now solidly in the Republican column while they once were a reliable Democratic vote. And they do it with virtually no support from southern blacks who have all moved to the Democrats.
So we also agree that today blacks play a vital role in getting Democrats elected to office. And we agree that progressives are never satisfied. We know we can always do better.
My only government experience was in the military, and I can promise you the only the best minds rise to the highest ranks.
Better late to the discussion than never, right freedom?
You approach the question from a micro economic argument. That is if we could just get rid of unions we could pay people less and make cheaper cars more money for our shareholders. I take a broader, more macro view. People have to have money to be able to purchase the products they produce. That was the genius of Henry Ford.
The stronger the middle class the stronger our economy and the stronger our national security. Next time you need a soldier to defend us or an officer to lead him, don't look to Harvard. That strength will come from the middle class: auto workers kids going to state schools.
I have trusted news sources. I also watch Fox News. But you don't hear me whining that Bret Baier or Brent Hume because they disagree with me. In fact I agree with almost nothing I hear on Fox, but that doesn't mean I am somehow a better American than they are… it's politics.
Thanks for reading by the way… I'm glad someone reads this stuff.
You misread me because I never implied paying people less was the answer. Now, if their salary is inflated, that is different. People should be paid market value for their jobs. I get paid because I am of a certain value to my employer. If he could find someone willing to do my job just as well, for half the cost, that is called sound business practice.
Cheaper cars would keep more money in the pockets of those very same middle class people. The union influence has an inflationary effect on the price of the automobiles. Cheaper goods and services lead to increased spending power. Shareholders, by investing in said company, deserve the best return on their investment. That's their incentive to invest in the first place. The company owes them, not the other way around. And I don't look to Harvard for much except snobbery…
Under your economic model the concept of value is muddled beyond recognition. In my opinion.
Unions are not immune to the real world. Union contracts are renegotiated all the time to bring value into line with real world conditions.
You are far more willing to accept the benevolence of corporate behavior than I am. Employers acting in their best interest works in a perfect world. But we live in an imperfect world were monopolies distort prices and wages, and business cycles can leave millions unemployed and displaced.
I can save us both a lot of time here. We see the world from entirely different perspectives. You value capital over labor and see labor as just a commodity to be bid on in the open market. I believe there is no capital without labor. It is labor that creates value.
I also believe that corporations can be good corporate citizens. And if they choose not to then they need to be regulated to the point where they contribute to society rather than exploit it.
Harvard is a bastion of capitalism. Why the anger?
First I wouldn't make the mistake to presume I know how you view the world. You seem fine with it, and that's cool. But you're wrong. "Corporate behavior" is a meaningless phrase. "Corporations" do not eat, do not breathe…. they are not people. Wages and prices are distorted by government interference in the marketplace. In a pure market, the person who provides the best service for the cheapest price always wins. The person who cheats his customers loses business, and fails. I value personal freedom (the ability to succeed or fail, on your own) over government meddling. Labor does not create value… the worth of a commodity to people creates its value. Hence, why heart valves are more expensive that dust pans, even though I'd bet there are far more people producing dust pans.
Regulation distorts the market, by interfering with market forces (notably, the forces that drive costs down). Bernie Madoff wouldn't have been able to steal one cent without the complicated, convoluted regulatory structure in high finance.
Anger? I don't allow emotions to pollute my policy discussions, but my personal experience with Harvard alums has been one of arrogance. How do you know someone went to Harvard? They tell you in the first 5 minutes you meet them. I'm impressed by ideas, not alma maters.
Calm down Jason… it's a political blog not a playground.
That's a pretty simplistic description of corporations… conservative courts have bestowed all kinds of rights on them that were reserved for people just a few years ago. And to let them waltz through our society without accountability is foolish.
Government action can affect prices… so what? They are certainly not the only factor in prices and it is convenient for a conservative to pile on when things don't go right, but it is misplaced anger.
I did say value… what I meant to say is that labor creates capital. It's pretty easy to understand… all capital is a product of labor. But I should remember to use my words.
There is no such thing as a free market without rules. In fact there is no market at all without rules. We can argue about the limits of the regulation, but let's stop pretending that we can have 300 million people interacting in a free for all. I would think you would look at the collapse of unregulated derivative markets and see the damage they have done to those of us who never thought we had a dog in the fight. They found a back door way to privatize the profits and socialize the risk. A colossal failure of government responsibility.
Government regulation is just one of many costs of doing business.
why dont right wingers turn to left wing tactics? we could go to the gop headquarters and paint "HITLER LIVES HERE" then blame it on lefties.
Oh good; but, the see if you can get a copy of "IT DIDN'T START WITH NIXON", though I doubt that that is still in print or in many libraries.
Matthews sticking it to the teabaggers, i love it.
Yes, completely agree. All Americans should stop adding any designation in front of their name. We don't need any extra designation-we're Americans. Any extra designation just confuses the issue and creates division.
how can I help you?
Glad you want to stay on Japan. Their economy is further down the crapper than ours, mostly because of those very same government outlays you mentioned… but their auto industry is ok. Our economy is robust in comparison to the Japanese, yet our auto industry necessitates constant bailouts. That's known as a correlation. Undeniable proof? No, but a correlation. They make a killing here because of that very price you mentioned.
You must excuse my caution I have many friends and far too many foes who wish me harm. I normally talk to those I can read their words so I can judge their heart, but you have no words for me to read. At this time a new set of republican and democrat stalkers have declared war on me so you show up at interesting time. It is clear you researched me. I find that interesting.
"convenient for a conservative to pile on when things don't go right," First, not a conservative. Second, piling on? Spending has been spiraling out of control since FDR, well before me, and it is the government policies responsible for the pickle we are in. I merely understand that. Without the entrepaneur who starts the company, labor has no one to produce for, no one to pay their salary, no to provide benefits (which distort wages, btw). Good talk man. Be safe.
mikatollah act of contrition…
I want to thank the nice folks on biggovernment.com for sharing their time and ideas with me for these past few weeks as I have thoroughly enjoyed myself. I try and conduct myself with proper respect and a sence of humor, and not get drawn into flame wars that always seem to generate a life of their own.
I know I have offended many of you with my use of the term "teabagger". It seemed harmless at first when I believed this list was filled with knuckleheads. I justified it by telling myself and others that it's ok because others do it. But I was wrong. There are many good people here who love their country and are just as passionate about their politics as I.
So to all of you I give my heartfelt apology and hope you can find it in your hearts to forgive. I want to assure you that the word will never pass my lips again, either while blogging or in my personal life. The word is dead to me.
I'm not going anywhere and I look forward to future debates. And just a note, you are going to see this post several times because I am going to post it everywhere I find someone that I know I particularly offended.
mikatollah
You are a complete moron, just go away if your gonna speak with your head shoved you know where. Demorats and obama are a criminal organization that is going down hard and all of you can go down with the ship and get OUT of my country.
I have to believe that Obama is just as concerned for the future of our country as you or I. His ideas on how to best proceed are different than yours, but his passion and commitment are just as strong.
" I justified it (using the term "teabagger" to marginalize others) by telling myself and others that it's ok because others do it."
REALLY? See, what gets me is that some people on here, people who get their jollies by insulting and mocking the values of conservatives like to use another term for us: "Sheeple". And yet THEY are the ones not thinking critically. THEY are the ones watching Matthew et al, saying "Oh, man, "teabagger". That's funny, Maddow. It's a homosexual thing? Oh wow. I'll start saying that too." Doesn't occur to folks like that ONE BIT that what USED to make up the "fouth estate", the media, the ones who were supposed to help INFORM AMERICANS, to investigate and convey news, are now BEING USED by this administration to help ridicule, marginalize and shut out an entire segment of this population- a BIGGER segmant actually, than those who protested the Iraq war.
I really hope that you WILL be thinking more critically about your actions and inactions in the future. Apology warily accepted.
I'm not part of the administration and that word has not come from the mouth of anyone there that I have heard. You shouldn't paint them with my bad behavior.
"They haven't forgotten the southern racist Democrats who fought against civil rights and voting rights, and now form the base of the Republican party."
You don't have any basis in fact for this statement, either. (The part about the southern racists being the GOP base.) This is another lie of the Left, never critically examined by lefties, just swallowed and repeated. I won't attempt to deny that there ARE racists or people who mistrust/dislike minorities (blacks and hispanics, mostly) because of crime issues or cultural friction who vote GOP. But to say that these people are the GOP base?
Have you ever really thought about WHY there might be a representational proportion of blacks seen at Tea Party rallies that didn't involve an unfounded assertion that it's "GOP racists"? (See pt2)
I may be sensitive to that because where I live there are still small towns where they fly the Confederate flag right next to the American flag and make it clear that certain people are not welcome.
I stand by my point that there is diametrical opposition between blacks and the people who opposed civil rights. Today those people are in the Republican party in the southern states.
pt2
Blacks are cowed by other blacks (who are Democrat voters, BTW) to stay in line. Much like when Juan Williams (liberal commentator for FoxNews) was told to "go back to the porch" by Warren Ballantine (liberal talk radio host, also black) for having an opinion that was not Korreckt. Williams' sin? Standing up for Rush Limbaugh. Williams was defending Rush and stating that he thought Rush should NOT have been barred from part ownership in an NFL team based on MADE-UP allegations of racist comments made by Rush. Rush never did or said any such thing. Williams knew it, and said so. Ballantine didn't like that another black man wasn't toeing the line, and Williams got the old liberal tactic of personal attack, heaped with race-baiting flavor.
pt 3
Any black who is openly conservative has to worry about his own folks saying and thinking he/she isn't "authentically black", is a "sell-out", an "uncle Tom" and so on. This is coercion. It's meant to keep that person IN LINE. There's no free thought encouraged here. It's a form of slavery, still practiced without the use of physical chains and no less harmful. It ain't the GOP and Conservatives practicing it.
Now go take a look at what happened to Kenneth Gladney.
There's a very good reason most people go from liberal to conservative as they get older. It's because they think about things a little more and stop emoting so much. Not to say that liberals don't have some good points sometimes, but to be honest, they do seem less rational and a lot of their policies lead to unintended cruelties because they're not thinking things all the way through or they are just seeing things as they WANT to see them, not as things actually ARE.
Sounds good to me. Discussing ideas makes more sense than name calling. I have often apologized for my own words and actions. I think this offends me because I did not do anything wrong and the country is in such serious straits. Using that term on the wrong guy at the wrong time could be a serious mistake. I don't think some of the folks using it quite understand that.
There is some truth to what you say. I myself am resentful of people like Clarence Thomas who take advantage of the struggles of those who came before and built a system which he took advantage of and then made it his life's work to tear down. Like slamming the door shut on your way out of a burning building and not worrying who might be behind you trying to get out.
I went from Republican to Democrat, but I was never a conservative. It was the party of my parents and neighbors and it was comfy. By the time Reagan came to power I felt that the party had deserted me, but still the switch was difficult. I held my nose and voted for Walter Mondale and it got easier from that point on. Now I'm just a troublemaker.
pt 4
No one who takes debates seriously is going to disrespect YOUR thoughts and opinions just because they are different. If you disrespect US, you are going to get hammered. People like me, people on the conservative side here, are FED UP with liberals, Democrats, this President and people in his administration, and especially (maybe) the MEDIA, not listening to our concerns and outright marginalizing and mocking half the population. If you're interested in learning about our views, great. We'll be happy to hear you out, too. Breitbart doesn't ban differing opinions like they do at the open, tolerant sites HuffingtonPost and DailyKos.
I think I must have picked it up on Olbermann and thought it was pretty funny. But I shouldn't have done it. Honestly, I had never heard the other definition until they started clowning with it on MSNBC.
I have heard complaints from conservatives of being banned by HP. They are very strict about ad hominem attacks and will take down comments that violate that policy. I've had a few disappear. I don't no what you have to do to get your user id banned there.
This site is definitely more wide open and takes thick skin, at least if you are a liberal. But the only time they have censored me was for the use of the word ga-y… and I was not using it to attack anyone. So they must have some software that targets certain words before you can post.
They don't. Half the nation is seriously angry at the fraud, the hard left tack and the huge deficits, poor ecomomy and a lot else. What really makes them boil is the fact that their elected representatives DON'T CARE. The media wants to make Obama look good, not report accurate info. people are angry and no one is listening to them. Calling folk s "teabaggers" or doing similarly insensitive things is like walking into a synagogue with a huge Nazi flag.
Thanks for speaking up. All this obsession with differences will destroy the country. E Pluribus Unun….One from Many not the other way around. The US is a great country and the idea of the US does not belong to skin color or country of parental origin but to the mind and spirit . We have to fight to keep what we have or these fools will ruin it.
URGENT: I WANT FRED THOMPSON TO RUN FOR PRESIDENT IN 2012!!!
I agree. It is a waste of time emailing your reps . They just seem to be lying and stealing and borrowing the country into oblivion. This country has given so many opportunities to so many people. Some look at only the faults or our history instead of all the good that comes from the US. I guess we have to speak up or this boat could sink.
Emailing IS a waste of time. Phone calls are much more effective. Please call, and call ALL of your reps' offices. All calls add up. You do not need to be a constituent to call other senators/reps and tell them your opinions or ask them to vote a certain way either but they do give more weight to a constituent,as they should!
Also, join a group like a 9/12 project group or an action committee like this one to get informed and learn effective ways to help. http://www.csa-1776.org has good info. Look for something in your area and help out.

Making trouble for who? En masse, liberals make trouble for the whole country. How is that good?
And in what way did Clarence Thomas "take advantage of the struggles.."? You started on the WRONG topic here, let me tell you….
You are absolutely incorrect, and you have not done your due diligence. Lazy, lazy, lazy. We have vast resources for finding information. Go use them to find me a quote, an audio (they MUST be out there, Rush being a "flaming racist" and all) or vid of Rush saying something racist. Give me the link. I know what you'll dredge up, but I want to see it from you. Then we'll take it step by step and I'll show you why you've been lied to by the Left AGAIN.
Had Thomas been born 50 years earlier he would have had trouble finding a night school that would take him, let alone Yale law. And it was not conservative thinking that kicked that door in.. it was progressive reformers of all races who recognized the injustice of segregation and opposed it.
I met him one summer but I didn't realize it at the time. My grandmother worked in the kitchen at Conception Monastery in Missouri where I spent my summers as a child. Everyone was excited about the new black seminary student studying to become a priest. He didn't last long and was gone by the next summer, but he was very nice and once unlocked the resident bowling alley for me so my brother and I could bowl while we waited for our grandmother to finish work.
Years later I was visiting the monastery and visiting with an old friend and he told me that the student I met as a child was now on the supreme court.
Sounds like a good idea. I have been to a local Tea Party and that national one passed near town but I need to look around some more. We seem to have a pretty good senate candidate trying to knock out one of the old weasels. I might get involved with that. The Reps let me down last time but they look good compared to this crowd. Nevertheless , I am very leery of talk at this point . I think we are going to have to be vigilant with almost all of them. The house or senate need to be flipped to at least put some kind of roadblock in the way of this madness.
I don't think Mr. Matthews is a news man – more a pundit that can say whatever he wants. He isn't taken very seriously anymore, except by those who want and look to find a message like his they agree with.
I have noticed that those who are real Progressive or Liberal tend to only seek out those voices they agree with and tune the others out, except to parrot what someone has said that is negative against anyone on the Conservative side. I watch all the cable-news channels on a matrix of eight channels on Direct TV. I can see what is on each channel and I move from one channel to the other and listen in round-robin fashion to each station. I know what each person, and station, represents. However, those on the Left, I find, are very closed minded and very uneducated as to the facts of why others believe what they believe. I find most, not all, but most of those on the Conservative side, know a lot about the liberals and progressives positions, but they don't know much about the actual facts and reasons of where conservatives are coming from. I think it is because Conservatives build on a rock, while the Progressive/liberal crowd build on shifting sands. The future will tell – no matter what is said today.

You poor, sad, ignorant fella.
Put away your prejudices for a little while, and go READ what's here:
http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/estack_12_13_06/...
Go to the link to read the explaination, THEN READ THE BACKGROUND MATERIAL linked on that page too, JUST TO SEE THE SOURCE MATERIAL. (The LA times article and etc.) Rush always provides source material so people can see for themselves if Rush misquoted something.
You do yourself a GRAVE DIS-SERVICE by taking ANYTHING presented on Media Matters seriously or thinking that it is unbiased or even truthful. People who offer MediaMatters links as source material are openly laughed at because they just cannot do good research. Use the source material.
What you SHOULD come away with is a new sense of skepticism for 1) your current "research" methods, 2) anything Media Matters tells you, and 3) any other media outlets that repeat the "Rush is a racist" lie.
YOU HAVE BEEN LIED TO by these media outlets and personalities. That should make you angry at them, and it should make you more prone to disbelieving them, and more apt to do your own research.
mikatollah act of contrition…

Chris Matthews is a nothing. I wonder if he still gets those sensations running up his legs. What a disgrace to his profession. This is the following this president has. Speaks volumes.
Hardly. Who continually insists that the most important aspect of a human being is the quantity of melanin in the epidermis? Liberals.
Liberals have completely discarded the whole "content of character" message. It doesn't work for them so they attempt to keyhole people by race and class. It's obscene and if you paid any attention at all to the actions and rhetoric you'd know it.
I'd love to see someone start a Congressional White Caucus. The hysterics would be priceless.
You don't have a point.
So Clarence Thomas reaped the benefits of the Civil Rights legislation (which Democrats fought against, most notably a currently seated Dem, Robert C Byrd)- great! When you say "progressive reformers" do NOT make the mistake of confusing those folks with the "progressives" of today. They are completely different types. Civil Rights was a movement where ideology took a back seat to decency. Think about how it was the day after 9/11. No bickering. NO partisanship. Country first mentality. Here it was "Black or white, doesn't matter. Rights are rights." Today's progressives are 100% ideology first. If you disagree with them you are an ENEMY.
You still have to explain how Thomas was attempting to "tear down" a system which he had "taken advantage of".
Clarence THomas is yet another figure terribly maligned and lied about, because the Left HATES blacks that won't "stay on the porch" like Warren Ballantine told Juan Williams to do.
AMEN! The patronizing assumption that skin color dictates intellectual life is racism writ large.
Sounds to me like you live in an ideological bubble. Basic human values are exactly the same to us as they are to you. But it is hard to hate us unless you demonizes us first. We are not just loyal Americans with different ideas for our country we are Nazis… we are baby killers.. we are communists… we worship Stalin and Marx…
Do you have any idea how twisted that sounds to us? And then you take to the streets with your evil signs and angry rhetoric… it gets a little predictable sometimes.
I do remember the coming together of the American people after 911. It was an amazing experience… and then we attacked Iraq.
Have you looked at the link I gave you regarding the "Barack the Magic Negro" parody?
You were also going to explain how Thomas was attempting to "tear down" a system which he had "taken advantage of".
All of the conservatives I know respect truth, an ability to change opinion when fact necessitates, and arguments that address the issues. Not saying there aren't conservative nutjobs, but I stay away from nutjobs of all ideologies.
I will say another thing about Rush Limbaugh.
Years ago, I couldn't stand him. My husband (boyfriend, at the time) loved to listen to his radio shows. "Ugh," I would say. "Why do you want to listen to that arrogant blowhard? "I'm Rush and I'm right' blah blah blah. He's kind of an egomaniac, isn't he?"
Then I stopped being prejudiced and I (gasp!) listened to the show a few times before passing judgement. (A crazy concept, I know!) Turned out, Rush was funny and he was funny without being mean or nasty! He made sense. And he did his homework. He researched news before commenting on it, and he got his facts straight. There's a reason why his show is so popular, and it's true what they say. "People hate Rush Limbaugh until they actually listen to his radio program."
Anyway- do read the LA Times article to learn about who was talking about "magic negroes".
Rush is a flaming racist. It was his bad behavior at ESPN that cost him his job, not some kind of liberal conspiracy. Juan Williams is just one opinion and carries no more weight than yours or mine.
Rush has the constitutional right to say anything he wants. His problem is he doesn't want to accept any social responsibility for his words. There is no constitutional right to a cool gig at ESPN.
I have not… maybe later.
Clarence Thomas benefited from affirmative action admissions to get into Yale Law and later said that he felt his law degree was basically worthless because it was tainted… it "bore the taint of racial preference." He was angry because he didn't get the great job offers after school that the white graduates received, so he blamed affirmative action, the progressive action that gave him an opportunity when otherwise he would excluded by racial prejudice.
The truth is, as was later expressed by other black graduates, it was him. He was the problem and he blamed his failings on a liberal conspiracy.
That would have been the end of the story except Bush senior put him on the court where he has taking out his anger by ruling against affirmative action ever since. If you want to read about it check out law.com.
I listen to Rush every week. He has never been able to once change my mind on any issue. I gave him an hour today. I do a meals on wheels route on Friday and tuned in the entire time.
So it is not like I'm being closed minded. I love politics and there is nothing I enjoy more than to be challenged. I'll keep listening to Rush, so he still has a chance to change my mind. But he is going to have to bring something to the table better than those cursory Lexis Nexis searches he tries to pass off as research.
My favorite is his catchy tune about "Barack the magic negro" but there are several documented on media matters. Google rush+racist and you will find some youtubes. I've never watched them and they may be more disrespectful than blatantly racist.
There are many quotes that are attributed to him but can't be documented. So as far as I'm concerned they don't exist.
Ah, screw you, we can respond whenever we want to.
Some blacks are bothered by the fact that they are left to wonder if it was their knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA) that got them in the door (school OR work), or if it was their race. Some don't care. But either way, we are still looking at RACE. We will NEVER move past racial issues, and race will always be an issue as long as it is a criteria for or against something.
What happened to judgements based on merit? Thomas was left to wonder if he merited admission. And he knew that AA was just another crutch. AA is wrong. Why should we admit/hire/grant favors to people just because of ethnicity? Two wrongs don't make a right.
I have no doubt that you are correct. It is a great big world and some people may feel as Clarence Thomas does about affirmative action. Sadly for us, Thomas has the ability to take that feeling and affect public policy. Just my opinion, but not likely to be changed by arguments that begin with "some blacks are bothered"…
nice going- I guess cris is color blind – he only sees what he wants to see; and is deaf since he only hears what he wants to hear– wish cris would read the US Constitution
Rush Limbaugh, to the best of my knowledge and research, has NEVER made a racist comment. Never.
What he HAS done, many tmes, is make parodies and running jokes about insensitive, unkind, awkward and outright racist things that blacks have said (against other blacks, whites, asians, Jews, etc.), and racist things that Democrats have said about the same groups. And he makes fun of the Democrats cheifly because THEY'RE the ones who trumpet themselves as the high-minded, tolerant "progressive" kumbayah guys.
So when we hear about a book called "Game Change" coming out, and how Harry Reid is being quoted in it when he described in private then-Sen. Barack Obama as "light skinned" and "with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one." Couple it with Biden's "clean, articulate" comment about Obama and you're left to think, "Man, these guys think not too highly of blacks generally, huh?" Of course Rush is going to lampoon that. He also tears Republicans new ones just as often. I don't think he was the least bit kind to that idiot Mark Sanford, to think of a recent scandal.
I would understand you haven't a lot of room for Rush in your heart given your closet-crush on Glenn Beck. Completely understandable.
Tread! You made me laugh… good one.
Why do you say "sadly"? AA is wrong. It's racism, just in reverse. Turn it around and you're in Atlanta in the mid 1800's saying, "It is a great big world and some people may feel as Abraham Lincoln does about slavery. Sadly for us cotton growers, Lincoln has the ability to take that feeling and affect public policy."
ICK!
MLK wanted us to look at MERIT and CHARACTER, not race! Can we PLEASE get around to that???? We have a non-white President! C"MON!!!!
I have a hard time understanding how, if you listen to Rush every week, you could make the error of believing he is a racist. Does not compute.
If he doesn't change your mind on other subjects, okay.
And why slam LN? You want him to go to the local library? What's wrong with LN so long as the diligence is there?
I did say sadly… then I said "Just my opinion". It's a disclaimer I use to assure people that I alone own my words. Just like it is your opinion that AA is wrong. It is certainly not a fact that everyone can agree on.
Oh, so what he's saying is I'm not black enough to be taken seriously. I see.
You sound angry Dude. I hope your day improves as it gets warmer. Playoffs are on today, and football always puts me in a better mood.
I have no problem with his tools. It's just that I am almost always familiar with the topics he addresses, and I know when he is cherry-picking Lexis Nexis to make his political point.
I call it racist, perhaps I'm too sensitive. Maybe it's just racial insensitivity or maybe just bad manners. In any case, it's my opinion of him and he has done nothing to change it. I'm sure I don't listen to him as much as you, but I'm sorry, it gets hard for this old lib to take.
Tread, I'm not on the right thread here… BG.com has locked me out of the "light skinned" thread, but I still get responses in my e-mail box from there.
Just wanted to say that I saw Hillary use her southern accent in the campaign and I cringed. I knew it was a silly thing to do and would not go over well on the cable news shows.
If these guys knew how silly they look by the time Hannity or Olbermann gets a hold of the tape, they would take care not to try and be all things to all people.
Thank you Bob Parks! At the Tea Party I went to, there were people of all ages, colors, and even political affiliations– not all just conservatives and independents. This is just another brilliantly astute, insightful (hate-filled) statement by the highly skilled reporters at MSNBC.
Matthews has completely blown whatever credibility he ever had. It's OK if his goal is to serve the 10-20% or so of Americans who are so far gone to the left that Mao would consider them to be right-wingers. If that's the GE / NBC / MSNBC strategy to serve a target market, so be it. Why, however, should anybody with half a brain even waste one minute of their day worrying about what he or some of the other zealots on MSNBC are saying? It's a free country. They can say whatever lunacy they wish. We need not dignify it by paying any attention to them, even in rebuttal. They don't care what we think, or want a serious debate. Leave them to their delusions.
You could always turn the tables on Chris by pointing out how the assumption that non-whites NEED government aid is racist and implies non-whites are stupid and incapable of supporting themselves and achieving what they put their minds to. This guy I came to become friends with later pointed this out to me, and it totally surprised me because I had never thought of it like that. The left has created a welfare state that acts more like a disease than it does charity, and has done more damage to minorities than almost any other sort of act.
Thank you Bob Parks
I was there too . Wasn't it wonderful?!
