No, the Economy Is Not Turning Around
by Bob McCartyThe Obama Administration wants Americans to believe the economy is beginning to turn around and that President Barack Obama’s efforts are starting to result in more and more “saved and created jobs.” Ask Rick Misch for his assessment of the economy, however, and you’ll find the economic picture he sees daily isn’t as pretty as the one painted by politicians.

“I know there simply isn’t any real ‘job creation’ taking place,” said Misch, president of Ohio-based Phoenix Research Inc., during a recent phone interview. And he should know.
Phoenix Research is a courthouse research company Misch and business partner Bill Brown launched in November 1997. The company provides on-site criminal records checks for some 750 employment screening companies across the United States by way of a network of approximately 1,500 subcontractors working in almost every county in the nation.
A look at his company’s growth is revealing:
- By April-May 1998, Misch said, the company had hit its stride;
- By 2000, the partners had paid off all of the company’s start-up costs and relocated from Cincinnati to Mt. Orab, 60 miles due east in Brown County; and
- By 2001, Phoenix Research employed nine people, including Misch and Brown, and was handling approximately 3,000 individual criminal history searches per day — including 250 to 350 in Los Angeles County alone.
In addition to providing a decent living for its owners and employees, the enterprise provides Misch a great deal of insight about the state of the economy.
“One thing that was consistent from basically 1998 to 2008 (was that) I could accurately predict within one-tenth of a percentage point what the unemployment rate was going to be the following month,” he said. “I knew it before anybody in the media did.”
In May 2009, however, Misch said his numbers and those coming out of Washington, D.C., began, inexplicably, to diverge, though he had not changed the way he calculated his predictions.
Misch alluded to having suspicions about reasons behind the government’s variance, but opted not to pursue them. Instead, he simply explained how his numbers paint a terrible economic picture of actual unemployment “north of 20 percent.”
“We were a multi-million-dollar-a-year business just 36 months ago,” said Misch. Now, Phoenix Research employs only five people and is now only a few months from bankruptcy, largely due to the fact that the company is handling only 150 criminal history searches — or five percent of normal — on a daily basis.
“We made money under Clinton,” he said. “We made money under Bush. We are being KILLED under Obama!
“As a small business owner and as veteran, I’ve never looked to the government to do anything for me; I’ve never asked the government to do anything for me,” he said, “but I can tell you this, this Congress and this administration hasn’t done a thing that can help me.
Even with the so-called “hiring incentives” in place?
Misch explained why business owners are not taking advantage of the tax credits being offered by the Obama Administration.
“They want to give me a $3,000 tax credit if I go out and buy all new computers. But why would I go out and buy all new computers when my computers work fine and I own all my own file servers, but I don’t have the business to support the expenditures in the first place.”
The same thing goes for job creation, he explained, citing the government’s offer of tax credits for companies that hire individuals who’ve been unemployed for some lengthy period of time.
“Why on earth would I fill a job that’s going to cost me $25,000 a year minimum to get a $6,000 tax credit and have a person sitting around with nothing to do because we don’t have the business? It doesn’t make any sense!
“It they want to help people like me, they need to cut taxes across the board and get the venture capital back in the game,” he said. “There’s no incentive for small businesses to hire.”
Of course, the Obama Administration would accuse Misch and Brown of being greedy. But nothing could be further from reality.
“My business partner and I have cut our salaries six times during the last 18 months,” Misch said.

Attention fellow BIGs faithful. Here is another man who we can add to the very very short list of people to trust. This is a quote from the NYT (yes them) from March 2009.
Meet Mr. Sylvain Raynes.
[The system was undermined by asking the American people, under the veil of secrecy, to bail out one company when in fact they wanted to bail out someone else,” said Sylvain R. Raynes, an authority in structured finance and a founder of R & R Consulting, a firm that helps investors gauge debt risks. “The prospectus for the bailout was not delivered to the people. And it was not delivered because if it had been, the deal would not have gone through.]
Mr. Raynes was invited to comment on the Goldman Sachs 'Dog & Pony Investigation' on CNBC Friday. And after telling the truth to the panel this is how Erin Burnett responded:
"You will not be back, you have to be more polite than that"
Erin is pathetic. CNBC is criminally derelict of duty. GE doesn't pay a dime of tax. And yes Mr. McCarty. Everywhere I look the economy still stinks.
Seems to me, and I've doubted the accuracy of ALL the stats coming out of Washington and duly reported in the know nothing press for some time now, figures don't lie, but liars do figure. And, there are lies, damn lies and … statistics. Face it folks, in this Infobabble Age we are drowning in meaningless and incomprehensible massive amounts of data presented by evil men that do want to control us and the entire world for that matter. In that context, a meltdown and do-over might be the best thing we could hope for.
Really good article!!! I'm a self-employed building contractor, here in Hawaii, which is having a really bad economy too………especially in the construction industry. The reasons that these so called 'incentives' don't, and won't, work for private business is that they're written by public-sector nerds who wouldn't know the first thing about running a damn lemonade stand, much less a REAL business that HAS to produce something, including an 'EVIL PROFIT"!!!!! These 'incentives' are written up and included so that Boy Barry and the rest of the non-productive politicians, and their willing accomplices in the MSM – can get up there and flap their gums about what great favors and help they are offerning to the private sector, when anyone on our side of the line KNOWS that it's all just a bunch of self-serving crap!!!
FUBO!!!!!
The economy is turning all right….in circles, right down the drain!!! If this administration is not stopped NOW they will ruin us so that, it will take decades to get us back on our feet!!!
You mean the dems and dear leader have been lying to us?
I guess that means we have to vote them out in November 2010 and 2012.
Interesting article.
"No, the economy is not turning around."
No shit?
I just returned from an eight day trek through middle America. Off the beaten path, to places most folks have never heard of, nor would ever travel to. Middle America is decimated. There is no turn around in America, outside of Wall Street and Goldman Sachs.
Agree with Misch – the unemployment rate here in Ohio and all over the US is continuing to grow. As a spouse of a small business owner, the tax credits DO NOT ENCOURAGE employers to hire new workers. Businesses are suffering all over with less consumers able to afford purchases. This is a vicious cycle that the current administration does not seem to comprehend. Perhaps if BHO had individuals in his administration that actually ran businesses things would turn around. There is a difference between theory and practice. Unfortunately, theory is not what America needs at this time. Unfortunately, I feel that the administration is doing exactly what they set out to do and that is to destroy capitalism.
The stimulus bill and every other bill since the ONE took office have never been about jobs. The ONLY thing that Obama and congress have done is to solidify the power of the UNIONS.
Unions represent only 15% of our workforce yet that is where all the money (the money that wasn't skimmed by politicians) in the stimulus went.
Government (aka-Public Service Employees-SEIU) is the ONLY sector of the economy at full strength.
Empty promises from the empty suit. Just as you cited in your article, no self-respecting, half-way successful business owner would take the tax credits for the reasons you cited. Yet, the left gobbles up those empty sound bites like gospel.
Our only real hope is November but we will have to contend with the fact that sector of the economy could start improving (no thanks to anything Obama has done) and give strength to the Dems.
Stay strong, stay angry!
(did not mean to repeat myself – "unfortunately").
"Mr. Raynes was invited to comment on the Goldman Sachs 'Dog & Pony Investigation' on CNBC Friday. And after telling the truth to the panel this is how Erin Burnett responded:
"You will not be back, you have to be more polite than that"
Excellent points Dave.
That is how it works: Maintain the party line, pay homage and lip service. Anyone who gets "uppity" is personna non grata; banished from the kingdom……..
An incentive only gives someone who was going to do something anyways a better deal and penalizes those who, for whatever reason, it does not make sense to take advantage of the incentives when they are available, then taxes them to give those incentives to others and makes them have to buy later in the absence of incentives.
Did anyone catch how the public and private job reports for march diverged? The ADP National Employement report said we'd lost 23,000 jobs
http://www.adpemploymentreport.com/
But the Bureau of Labor Statistics said we'd gained 162,000
http://www.bls.gov/news.release/empsit.nr0.htm
Of course, nearly 1/3 of them were government census jobs, but even with that taken into account, somebody's got to be lyin'. Somehow I doubt it's the ADP.
And once the "crack" high of trillions dropped from Obamao's helicopters wears off ( oh say, right around December 2010) then the doo really hits the fan.
When Obama took office we were losing 1/2 of a million jobs a month.
And now we are gaining jobs. Nice work Mr. President.
"When the President was elected and this congress took office, we were losing over half a million jobs a month. Now, we are gaining jobs.
In the past year and a half, they’ve stabilized the banks, the economy, and the major car companies, they passed health care reform that adds thirty million people and cuts the deficit long term while getting rid of the worst abuses of the insurance companies, extended the solvency of Medicare for a decade, we’re drawing down troops in Iraq, we are making progress with green energy, there has not been one successful terrorist attack on American soil, we’ve just signed a nuclear arms reduction treaty and re-examined our use of nuclear weapons and we are making great progress on the global stage. Hell, the DOW is up over 3,000 since we got rid of the bums."
http://www.balloon-juice.com/2010/04/09/down-is-u...
Exactly right and that is why they are going ape shit over Citizens United Supreme Ct. case. They will try to legislate around that decision – just watch. God forbid corporations, who actually create jobs and employ people, should have the same rights as unions to influence elections.
Oh, I forgot the one most dear to the teabag contingent.
And Obama cut taxes for 95% of us. Total of about $250 BILLION in tax cuts.
You need to change your moniker to "DumbA*s".
The decision had nothing to do with giving corporations the same rights as unions.
God you people are stupid.
What you fail to recognize is that employment is what economists call a "lagging indicator". In other words, when the country starts pulling out of a recession, the stock market recovers first, and employment recovers after that. No one can argue that the stock market has bounced back big time. Soon, it will be employments turn. Things happen in a predictable pattern. Patience is a virtue.
Just wait loser. You can send an apology in a year from now.
Oh great Constitutional scholar enlighten mean on what it all means and why it is Holy Water on the Dems. Then go back to servicing Soros.
No, the economy is not turning around. It is a lie being perpitrated by a disfuntional left. Like Paul Revere once said, "The British are coming". Here is a game plan that worked in the 80's after Jimmy Carter.
This man was a true leader, just listen to his words, because Obama borrowed a few of them.

God you anon's are stupid.
anon – I mean no disrespect to you but could you please stop reminding us of all that BHO's accomplished since he's been president. It is truly depressing to have a government that wants to run and control every aspect of our lives.
God, anon. You are so stupid!
All I need is a job…
Yea, keep telling that lie. God, you are so stupid!

What's "lagging" here is your ability to grasp the reality of our current situation. Whatever you do, don't take off those rose colored glasses. The shock might be more than you can take.
I'd like our small business back but I don't think that's likely for a LONG time.
The Goldman Sachs ongoing saga really reminds me of the frog and scorpion story.
You apparently do not know the difference between a tax credit and a tax cut. Until you learn do us all a favor and shut it.
I read this excuse ad nauseum after the Stimulus was passed. "The lagging indicator will catch up in 6-12 months". It's been 15 months bozo, and we lost 24,000 MORE jobs last week. What's the new excuse?
State run health care will be an unmitigated disaster and will cost the taxpayer 3 trillion a year, easy. Don't believe me, ask your own primary care physician how Obamacare is going to ruin their profession.
Medicare, Medicaid, and SSI are all insolvent, all bankrupt, with tens of trillions of unfunded liabilities. They are Ponzi schemes about to collapse.
Green energy is a sham. We'll never get enough energy to matter that way and it wouldn't survive for a minute with out massive gov't subsidies. You would have to cover the state of Connecticut with windmills in order to supply just NYC with its electricity needs.
Nukes: Disarming us while doing nothing about Iran. Puh-Lease!
The DOW: A sucker's rally. Get out now while you still can!
There you have it folks. anon, typical leftist responds with one dubious claim, no facts , NOT ONE, and (GASP!) NAME CALLING! Why am I not surprised.
I guess a-non-person means the 17,000 Brown Shirts that Obama just employed at the IRS to enforce the Death Rationing Bill's new fees and taxes.
[...] Original post by Bob McCarty [...]
You guys really need to change your talking points. Didn't you get the word? Berry now says that 95% of WORKING americans (misleading claim) got tax cuts Nice change-up Mr. President. Maybe next year you can use that for your opening day pitch instead of that wimpy, slow curve. High and far to the left, just like the man himself.
Hey Cowboy Logic:
Welcome back! We've missed ya.
Anon:
I am working on my stretching so I can stick my head up my ass like you. I need a break from reality and would like a temporary reprieve and live in your world for a change.
Folks are cutting on spending at home – they don't feel secure
"I guess a-non-person means the 17,000 Brown Shirts that Obama just employed at the IRS to enforce the Death Rationing Bill's new fees and taxes."
You are a liar. And scum. The worst America has to offer. The good news self identified teabaggers, the ones who would believe you, are only 16% of voters.
Good luck with that one.
You got that right. A lot of smart Americans are stocking up on essentials because they know inflation is here and they are already struggling just to feed and house their families.
"Berry now says that 95% of WORKING americans (misleading claim) got tax cuts"
And what, might I ask, is wrong with that?
I suppose you support cutting taxes for those who don't pay any taxes. Is that the way it goes?
God you people are stupid.
Yes, if you are a cencus worker yea hah, but how about the rest of America? Not so much.
Good luck with that one.
My my my as soon as the name calling starts I KNOW that I touched a nerve. You might want to try some anger management.
God bless you too.
Yes the economy is still bad. The real unemployment rate is near 17% and the standard of living for the rest of us is declining.

Tax credits are not tax cuts.
God you anons are stupid.
One of the top ten, my Christian friend, is to not bear false witness.
How's that go again? Hate the sin but love the sinner. You are a liar. You're post is a lie.
Now make sure you get to church and get forgiveness from Jesus. And then you'll be OK to lie your *ss off next week.
Tax credits are tax cuts. Bozo.
If you earned $8,000 under Bush you would owe $400 in taxes.
If you earned $8,000 under Obama you would owe $0 in taxes.
And this isn't a tax cut?
God you people are stupid.
We are certainly headed for another "hurdle to jump" in this economy, that politicians are not telling you about. When you print money, with nothing to" support it like gold" we will undoughtly see rises in prices do to bad monetary policy and political policy. This will be a dagger through the heart of this economy, and jobs which politicians are not telling you.
We need to halt these bad polices now before it is to late. The reason I am posting this is because, when I was a teenager, I remember these polices from former "President Jimmy Carter", and they where very harmful to the economy. Can you say" baton down the hatches". Now is that time. Be prepared and look into ways to protect yourself, and your money before it is too late. This is one of those little things that politicians and their staffs will not tell you about their polices. They throw money at everything and never solve a thing, but only make things worse.
This will continue to be a threat, until we let the private sector to do its thing ,and take the "government shackles" off of all businesses. Most importantly off of all of us. Until this happens we will always be on the brink, of collapse. Due to socialist control of our government. Being a socialist means you do not understand free markets, and how they operate. This is just a fact. Keep up all your efforts here to keep democracy alive, and say no to big government. "Let Freedom Ring Once Again, and May God Bless America".
Actually, the people who don't pay taxes DO get tax cuts, and a lot of other imaginary perks, because they're being credited for something that they didn't even pay to begin with. By the way, Mr. IQ-anon, I'm a 'working' American………….whatever the hell that means……….and I haven't seen any kind of tax cut. And I'm self-employed, so all I'm seeing is more demands on my meager cash flow…..that is, when I CAN generate a little cash flow!!!
You probably ought to get off of your 'god, you people are stupid' declaration…………..I don't think you've got any qualifications to be saying that to anybody here. But, I'm sure that would never stop you from continuing to say it…………………
The largest stock market spikes in American history happened in the middle of the great depression! This isn't over, it's just beginning!
It is the goodness of God that leads thee to repentance…remember that anon.
"Actually, the people who don't pay taxes DO get tax cuts"
And how in the world can that happen? Care to explain? (this ought to be good)
God you people are stupid.
Tax credits are not tax cuts. Bozo.Tax credits are not the same as tax cuts. A tax cut decrease the rate at which one is taxed. A tax credit is a benefit paid to an individual to increase one's net income.
Obama's claim that he'll cut taxes for 95% of Americans is misleading for this reason: he misconstrues tax credits to mean tax cuts.
So, when Obama says he'll cut taxes for 95% of America, what he really means to say is he's going to adjust the progressiveness of the tax rate in order to fund tax credits for the lowest tax bracket–the one that doesn't pay any taxes at all. That's not a tax cut, its a refundable credit, a redistribution of wealth. The merits of such a shift in tax policy is debatable. It isn't, however, a tax cut for 95% of America.
Obama's may convincingly articulate his tax policy, but he doesn't do it honestly.
God Bless America
Really good comment!!!!!! I live in NJ and all I see are empty houses and empty storefronts. These guys in DC are playing Liar's Poker of something.
Somehow that makes all the lying justifiable with you nitwits.
Liar.
You apparently read too many left wing fantasy blogs in which the sun shines on America if an only if a socialist is in the White House. Not enough space to rebut every false claim in your paragraph. Suffice it to say, if a monkey jacked that much funding into the economy, something positive is bound to happen. The problem is, of the money that has been spent, 90% of it is a complete waste, not job creating, nothing, just lining the pockets of public sector union workers.
If the One is such a crack manager of the economy, why are US Govt. bonds selling at a discount to Berkshire Hathaway Bonds? When the Chinese came over for the nuclear patty cake party, why did they spend all of their time trying to understand our Health Care Bill? Great progress on the global stage? At what? Letting the Iranians develop nukes? Russia stages a coup in Krygistan and shuts down our Air Force base in Manas. China thumbed their nose and called Obama a liar when he said they had agreed to sanctions against Iran. This guy is a joke.
As for any impact he had on reducing the job losses, he had zero impact. The losses were already reduced before any policy with his finger prints on it had a chance to find its way to the man in the street. Your talking points are entirely unimpressive and unpersuasive. Only a kool aid drinking douche bag would bring that crap here

"Tax credits are not tax cuts."
If you earned $8,000 under Bush you would owe $400 in taxes.
If you earned $8,000 under Obama you would owe $0 in taxes.
Due to Obama. And this isn't a tax cut?
What planet do you live on?
"A tax credit is a benefit paid to an individual to increase one's net income."
A tax credit is a dollar for dollar reduction in ones taxes. Period.
"So, when Obama says he'll cut taxes for 95% of America, what he really means to say is he's going to adjust the progressiveness of the tax rate in order to fund tax credits for the lowest tax bracket–the one that doesn't pay any taxes at all. That's not a tax cut, its a refundable credit, a redistribution of wealth."
If one doens't pay any taxes is is impossible to cut their taxes. Period
Good God you people are stupid.
I beg to differ – it IS turning around – - – and around and around and around – - and going nowhere.
But of course, this is what Obama wants in order to fundamentally transform America (his own words) based on the strategies of Cloward and Piven, his friends and frequent brown-house guests.
Rush was right – If Obama fails, we win; if Obama succeeds, America dies. Except, of course for the ruling elite who will run away with their stashes to Iran or South America, laughing all the way.
Let me try and explain this to you…..if you've got enough sense to comprehend…..although, after reading most of your posts, I doubt if you do. If someone is NOT paying any income taxes to begin with, and then they DO get a tax credit on TOP of that………I'd say that qualifies my statement. Of course, I expect you to disagree……….so I'm not worried about it too much.
FUBO!!!!!
I'm trying to do the math, IQ-anon…………a HALF MILLION a month……..under the EVIL George Bush….I can't even FIND that anywhere, much less verify it!!! I think that shining mountain of intelligence, Ms. Botox, said the same thing. But, coming from you………..it's typical.
FUBO!!!!!
Little piggy squealin' like mad! Where are your facts, junior? Proof. I want you to back up your claims, not just repeat the misleading claims made by your progressive leaders. But all you do is name-call, makes me think of little piggies squealin' when they get skewered.
And what is wrong with that , you ask. What is wrong is that it is not true. PROVE ME WRONG!
The unions already had the ability to spend virtually unlimited funds directly, through front groups, and shell organizations, to support Democratic pro-union candidates. The supreme court decision allows corporations to *begin* to approach the political expenditures of unions – and actually still doesn't allow them to equal the unions financial power to support candidates.
The teachers union spent over 90 MILLION dollars getting Obama elected – restricting the campain contributions of corporations in the face of that is one sided, and gives unions an unprecedented political advantage.
God, anon, you are a stupid, mindless, insipid, talking points filled, media conditioned, brainwashed idiot!
"If someone is NOT paying any income taxes to begin with, and then they DO get a tax credit on TOP of that."
Key word is income taxes. Those who pay no tax get nothing. Those who pay payroll taxes are eligible for up to $400 per person $800 per couple.
Care to explain killa's moronic post. I noticed you ignored that part.
"Actually, the people who don't pay taxes DO get tax cuts"
How's that work again?
Redistribution of wealth. Thats what it's all about, right. Hold that soup bowl higher, Obama might come by and give you a little more.
My taxes are UP! (and I make far less than $250k per year)
What planet are you living on, Moronia?
Good God You Anon's are stupid.
Uh oh anon, now over 24% identify with the Tea Party movement. Guess the Daily Kos polls haven't caught up yet.
When are you otherwise obviously intelligent people going to stop even responding to Anon? He is intentionally wasting our time. Guess it's a 'feel good' thing. Therapy.
Let the 'tree fall in the forest' and not make a sound.
Great article!
Hey Anon, does your job with Soros supply you with knee pads or do you have to buy your own.
Open your mouth, close your eyes and get ready for a big surprise!
mmm, mmm, mmm, Barak Hussein Obama, mmm, mmm, mmm
Don't forget about the new health care taxes coming, the new fuel taxes in the works, the new energy taxes that are being pushed for, the value added tax idea they're floating to create a national sales tax ON TOP OF the already burdensome federal income tax, taxes and regulations on businesses that are passed on to the consumer as higher prices (yes, government fees, taxes and regulation costs added to the producers equate to a TAX on consumers), the estate tax that's going back to almost 50% (which taxes what you've earned a second time, after you die, before what's left is passed on to your family)
If people don't owe taxes, they should not recieve tax credits. The people who make to little to tax are being subsidized with these credits, which is a thinky veiled form of welfare and income redistribution, and it discourages those individuals from working to increase their income level, because it reduces their subsidies.
Your knowledge of taxation and it's effects are as flawed and puerile as the rest of the drivel you spew, and you seem to think that quantity makes up for the lack of quality.
Read some damned books, and learn something of the real world!
It's about time we heard from "real people" about how they are faring. This house of cards may come crashing down at any time and God help us if it does!
Would you please repeat your post – in English ?
I tried to parse your single sentence 3 times and still could not figure out what you were trying to say.
Welcome back.
Anon is not responsible for his thinking.
He comes from long lines of Democrats on all sides. It is like inbreeding only it is much, much worse.
He is a testamony to this fact.
Economics 101. Government incentives only provide a good deal for someone who was going to buy whatever the government is incentivizing in the 1st place. This becomes a hardship on others who, even in the presence of incentives, it does not make sense to purchase whatever the government is incentivizing. In order to provide the incentives in the 1st place, the government has to subsidize, which means the government had to get tax revenue to do that. The tax revenue comes from the public at large, including the parties who do not take advantage of the incentives. Later, when the incentives are over and the parties who didn't use them get ready to buy, they have to pay higher prices, plus they also had to pay the extra burden of the incentives that others got. I hope that makes better sense of it all for you.
I knew a woman with two children in Chico, Ca. that earned about $12,000 a year, payed no income tax, and got a check from the IRS for about $3,000. It was called the earned income tax credit, I think. This was a few years ago, but my GUESS (unlike the progressives, I'm not gonna claim something I'm not sure about is a 'fact' ) would be that the amount of this tax credit has increased and that Berry is calling it a 'tax cut ' instead of what is really is, 'welfare'.
Don't know where you're getting those numbers. There are still 450,000 new jobless claims PER WEEK and the unemployment rate is holding steady at 9.7% (which is grossly understated), congress just extended jobless benefits to an unprecedented 99 WEEKS. Any job growth has to do with TEMPORARY census workers, which the president has absolutely NOTHING to do with, it happens every 10 years, or the 16,000 new IRS agents, but oh wait, we don't need those agents for another 2 YEARS! And created or saved is a worthless, dreamed up metric that no one else ever used. Heck, I bought a hamburger today, does that mean I saved a job at the Burger King? I think not!
By the President's own forecast he's failed.
The President's forecast for jobs right now WITHOUT the stimulus was 9%, continuing through Q3, then declining in 2011. So we're doing worse than his forecast of the situation without stimulus.
Except we did have nearly $1 trillion in "stimulus" and increased government spending that went toward ridiculous crap like dog parks, bike paths, trips to give speeches around the world, and increased government bureaucracy that doesn't stimulate anything.
Had those wasted billions gone to across the board tax cuts, people would have spent the money the way they want rather than what some clueless wonders think they should spend their money on. In times like this, taxes and regulation have to go down, not up.
Wisdom.. People need to use their wisdom to make conclusion. Knowledge is helpful. A wise person looks around their world and makes conclusions.
Thank you Mr. McCarty for having the wisdom to bring us this information so we can conclude that our observations of the world around us are correct. All of the Emperor's courtiers are crying out that our country is turning a corner and in great shape. The rest of us can see the Emperor's undies.

Obama didn't stabilize the banks. The Fed did that and note TARP was started under Bush, and the Fed has made a profit on it except for the money that got pissed away on GM and Chrysler right before they went bankrupt.
I don't know how anyone can claim no terrorist attack on American soil when 13 people were killed by a terrorist at Fort Hood. But I guess delusions infect the liberal view of the world.

With the trolls, the posts work against them and exposes the ignorance of the left. It is eye opening to see everyone of them using the exact same talking points and none of them based on fact.
Hi Annie
The economy and private sector job market is really not turning around! The slowing un-employment numbers are due to the fact that private sector companies, like mine made the 'adjustment' (about 20% of employees) at the peak of the bell curve before last year! It will be quite a while B4 we have any broad scale hiring. Our stock is now stable and actually doing great after the adjustment. Those who were laid off were WAY overqualified for the 'infrastructure' jobs created or saved. Those (in this part of the country) went to illegals, judging by the signs at the side of the road and obvious nationality of contractor workers.
I decided to work 2 years beyond 65 because I get a sense of accomplishment from my job, my 401 K took, easily a 2 year 'hit', and I benefit from corporate medical, which has paid a LARGE sum, for me and the uninsured around me in the hospital, which Medicare would never pay!
I am alive and well and scarfing down $2000 + SS which I paid into but never thought I'd collect or counted upon. I'm having fun donating at least one of those monthly checks back to conservative political candidates like Scott Brown or anyone with half a chance against a RINO or DEM. I'm also putting out signs for Liz Carter – GA-04!
Life is good!
Tell us how adding 30 million cuts the deficit..
This should be good.
Use this site to stay on top of jobs losses.http://www.dailyjobcuts.com keeps track of some of them. Maybe BS Man/aka OBama should read this site and see this too!
I think this anon is a teenage girl, it's comments are petulant and well…………silly.
It brings to mind a horse with blinders on
Anon was looking in the mirror with MSNBC news playing in the background when he screamed
>You are a liar. And scum. The worst America has to offer. The good news self identified
> progressives are only 16% of voters.
The pressure is really getting to the little troll, great fun to watch though
Tax credits are not the same as tax cuts. With a tax cut, people get to keep more of the money they earn. With a tax credit the government gives people money for something.
Credits are at the whim of the politicians. The ultimate expression of that is the cash for clunkers credit which lasted just weeks, or the homebuyer tax credit that was changed within the same tax year that doesn't apply to purchases early in the year. With tax cuts you don't have to do anything that the politicians think you should do to get it, you just get it. And within a tier, the more you make the more you save.
If you want to get cute and call things tax cuts because people are paying less taxes, then you're going to have to start adding all the increased taxes that people will be paying. Smokers paid more federal taxes last year. The federal tax tripled. In a few years, there will be an increase in taxes for people without health insurance. Those are the ones out now. But they tried a carbon tax and are considering a VAT and higher gas taxes.
I like your answer and to tell the truth I enjoy the responses, unless they are totally inane! but probably not 'worth the typing', except to perhaps solidify our own perspective, here. He is here to distract. I do the same thing on a couple of Lib blogs when I see an 'opening' (there are a lot). Easy to 'trash the house! (smile) I'm with ya!

95%? How can that be? Only 50% of us pay taxes. He certainly could not cut taxes for most of us.
Do you mean Obama cut taxes for the RICH? Oh my. How could he?
Or did you attend gumming school – and get a "pregressive" education? That would explain your abject ignorance in all things.
I bet you think I am a racist for this. No, I am just a member of La Raza.

Dave,
I agre, it's criminal for GE to push the Obama agenda of bailouts, false economic date misrepresented and distorted to create the smoke and mirrors they all want for increasing equity valuations, albeit unjustified, and on top of it all….not pay any US taxes on all those offshore GE profits??? Criminal. GE should be asked to pay the top income bracket like we will next year of 39.6% plus the 3.8% additional Obamacare tax…….on all offshore profits. I bet the play games with transfer pricing of GE products/sales amongst the 700 tax returns they file to push profits to least taxed regions????? so just eliminate these scams….and tax on profits no matter where they are earned…..we are going broks, and it's time GE and all other big corporations start paying for their priviledge to sell their products in USA……this would help bring back jobs to US if they lose their after tax profits from shifting jobs off shore……get it??????
Yep, and since 47% of 100% of Americans currently have no tax liability, meaning they pay NO taxes, then it is impossible to cut taxes to 95% of the people through simple math if nothing else.
Youall be nice to Anon. He's so lonely. Isn't it strange that you can actually SMELL him when he posts?
"Tell us how adding 30 million cuts the deficit."
Because those 30 million were already being treated at the emergency room for "free" as you jackasses would think. It was most inefficient and most expensive way possible. No longer. Now those freeloaders have to pay their own way.
What is the problem with that?
Are you really that ignorant?
