Census 2010: Up to 800 Canvassers With Criminal Records
by Bob McCartyDespite reports last fall that the Census Bureau had severed ties with community-organizing group known as ACORN, Americans might want to think twice before opening their doors to canvassers for the 2010 Census after reading what I discovered this morning.
According to a report issued by the Government Accountability Office Oct. 7, approximately 785 employees with disqualifying criminal records could still end up working for the Census Bureau this year. Excerpts (below) show the exact wording of the agency’s frightening information about the people who go door to door conducting interviews and collecting information for the 2010 Census:
The Bureau’s efforts to fingerprint employees, which was required as part of a criminal background check, did not proceed smoothly, in part because of training issues. As a result, over 35,000 temporary census workers — over a fifth of the address canvassing workforce — were hired despite the fact that their fingerprints could not be processed and they were not fully screened for employment eligibility.
…of the prints that could be processed, fingerprint results identified 1,800 temporary workers (1.1 percent of total hires) with criminal records that name check alone failed to identify. Of the 1,800 workers with criminal records, approximately 750 (42 percent) were terminated or were further reviewed because the Bureau determined their criminal records — which included crimes such as rape, manslaughter, and child abuse — disqualified them from census employment.

In addition to the news about the criminal element aspect of the 2010 Census, the 2009 report contained an estimate of the total cost of the 2010 Census being some $3.4 billion higher than the estimate in a 2006 GAO report. Compared to ex-cons knocking at my door, I guess I can live with cost overruns. But I digress.

just checked the census web. form will be mailed out with ten questions…..the questions are straight forward,no biggie….so any one claiming to be from or representing the census, tell them you mailed the form in"it's in the mail". and take a hike, the end. would not hurt to copy completed form. and remember convicts are just poor poor suppressed victims of our EVIL society,"hug a thug", hug dirty birdie, hell have a coke a love the world.
The Census is a constitutional requirement. If you support the Constitution, then you would answer the questions asked. If you are a progressive lefty and supporter of Obama and his henchmen than I can see you might not want to support the Constitution. Why would you want to support the Constitutionon and The Census as that is the only part of the Constitution the Left supports because they can fudge the numbers and get more illegal voters.
Before I die, I'd like to see my government do at least one thing correctly.

It's why 'Rahmbo' seized control of the census right after The One took office. It's all about re-districting, re-apportionment, and making sure the big Democrat disticts get bigger, and get more money. There's power in them thar numbers, and they mean to exercise it.

From Article 1 of the US Constitution:
"Representatives and direct Taxes shall be apportioned among the several States which may be included within this Union, according to their respective Numbers, which shall be determined by adding to the whole Number of free Persons, including those bound to Service for a Term of Years, and excluding Indians not taxed, three fifths of all other Persons. Sounds to me like they need to know my name, and how many people live in my household. The number of toilets, televisions, bedrooms or my family income is none of their business, and I don't see any authorization for those questions in the above.
Yes, it is a small thing, but we got to where we are today due to innumerable small decisions made that slightly expanded the power of the federal government.

What is the safest way to treat a census knock on the door?
keep it holstered or by your side though…brandishing (pointing it at them) in some states can land you in jail…if you don't recognize the person at the door do as I do ignore them…they break in well….need I say more…

You are only required to divulge how many occupants, and their ages, at that address. The sole purpose of the census is to provide an accurate enumeration of population.
There is a fine for not answering the census at all, which I believe is around $100? And I think you can be fined for providing "false" information as well…Not sure how much?

One way to confuse those who would gerrymander our congressional and other districts by the census, would be for all of us to temporarily change our political party preference NPA (no political affiliation) or independent. Then those dingbats won't know what district to put us in.

I believe the the constitution only requires that the citizens be counted. It doesn't take ten questions to count a citizen. The rest is none of the governments business.

Joaquin Jackson's (your video, link) is advocating gun-banning which I completely, utterly disagree with. He declares he supports Second Amendment then goes on to qualify who "should have" guns and what types of guns citizens "should not" have. Absurd, irregular, just not a philosophy I agree with nor will ever support (the Second Amendment does not declare limitations to the Rights involved so no one else should ever be taken seriously in doing so).

Last time I got the LONG form and refused to answer anything but the # of people in our household. Guess who came knocking??? I told the guy I filled out the required part and mailed it. Of course he tells me "You didn't complete the entire form" So I tell him "I am only required by the constitution to be counted, All the other questions are none of the governments business" He was rude and said I had to answer it or I could go to jail. I refused and told him to show me the law that says so. So then he says, fine, I can just go to the local courthouse and look it up in public records. So I tell him, to go for it and shut the door in his face. Never heard from him and never went to jail!

On two occasions I worked for the census the "unintentional" slanting of data collection is incredible. How the culture of make work I saw could spring from a bunch of temporary employees is beyond me. It is the ultimate demonstration of cronyism at the most fundamental level. Employees screeners going through stacks of test scores in the acceptable ranges looking for friends to call in. People denied promotions for bad tast scores coached to retake. If you want a look at the belly of the beast sign up I had my belly full.
The census is a head count, I'll only answer 1. The rest is none of their business. Have done this four times now. lmao

I remember in the late 60's in the rural area of Wisconsin. My dad "volunteered" to take the census among the area farming community and I went along, filling out the questionaire as my dad asked the questions ( I was around 10 years old). It was an accurate count because we knew everyone.
What do we have now?…. spend money to hire someone to get a bogus count.

While in the employ of President Bill Clinton, and acting as an Assistant Attorney General to Janet Reno, he was instrumental in the pardoning of several convicted members of the Puerto Rican terrorist group FALN. He also encouraged Clinton to pardon convicted felon Marc Rich who was living outside the United States to avoid incarceration.
When Clinton was replaced by a Republican regime headed by George Bush, the idea of protecting the United States, and practicing tough law enforcement became fashionable again, and Mr. Holder got the boot!
Now he is back at his old tricks of favoring the criminal and terrorist element, with the blessing of Mr. Obama. During the recent elections, the Black Panther organization was posted at polling places wielding clubs and intimidating voters, and Attorney General Holder, as usual, saw no problem with it. Now he is bringing a bunch of murderers to stand trial in New York on civil charges, as if they were common shop lifters instead of foreign terrorist killers! His latest stunt was to give Miranda rights to a punk with explosives in his Jockey Shorts, even though he had been spilling his guts to the FBI.
Keep in mind, this nutcase was going to decorate Detroit with parts of an airliner and countless human remains. Are Obama and Holder "soft" on crime and terror?
Soon, he will be providing the dirtbags from Guantanamo with the luxuries of New York City…the place where they killed about 3000 at the WTC. Have you ever heard of the American Community Survey which is also conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau and consists of 11 pages with 48 questions. They send out 250,000 mandatory questionnaires nationwide every month with fines for not returning. I never heard of it until recently and noone I know has ever heard of it but it's out there. Check out the personal questions they ask and then question the constitutionality of same. It all sounds
like redistribution of wealth to me.
