Action Alert: Rein In The Rogue NLRB
by Bret JacobsonYou may be aware of this week’s NLRB showdown, where two Democratic Members of the National Labor Relations Board will try on Tuesday to overhaul rules governing 6 million workplaces and about 100 million working Americans to make it easier for union bosses to organize new members. The consequences are serious: employees will get less information about what they’re signing up for and employers will have less chance to talk to their workers. The unelected bureaucrats say they’re helping employees, but really it’s just to help the big political spenders from Big Labor. But you can help stop this farce!
While the Obama administration doesn’t seem to want to listen to small business owners, other leaders in D.C. will get the message. So sign a petition to top national leaders via Halt The Assault or contact your Member of Congress to support commonsense legislation to make the playing field fair once again (Americans For Prosperity’s site can help if you wish to support the Workforce Democracy and Fairness Act).
Bloggers can do even more by embedding a petition code into their site.
Every little bit helps when small business owners live in a world where facing federal bureaucrat regulations is their biggest single problem and Americans just want to get back to work.

I am not really interested in signing yet another petition that the elite just ignore. They don't care what we want or think, it's that simple. Perhaps the congressional committee that has oversight of the nrlb could step up and do their job. The will of the people is openly ignored.
Futile as this is, I have signed it. After all, what does one vote matter? But I still vote.
I hate this administration! They are the most unconstitutional bunch that I have ever experienced. Come on November 2012!!!!!!!!!
The NLRB isn't even trying to hide their pro-union bias anymore. One more extra-constitutional agency that has outlived it's usefulness – if it ever had any to begin with.
Same here. Noticed the some 108,000 plus have endorsed it on Facebook.
The NLRB was created by executive order from FDR in 1934. A new president in 2013 can rescind the order and, poof, it's gone. Vote a conservative into office in 2012.
I agree, all of these petitions are 'nice' but completely ineffective. The only valid petition is the ballot box. Leave your signature there.
Did anyone at the NLRB read the Constitution? Where is congress on this? Obama just can't change the law on his own!
The NLRB is definitely in need of some serious review. Consider that we now are seeing possible collusion at play in the Boeing case: http://eng.am/tpBXAB. It’s pretty clear the NLRB is failing. It’s inhibiting job growth, and essentially promoting the widening compensation gap that we see in the public and private sector.
He can if the &@$%#¥€ Republicans won't even try to stop him. Pisses me off!
The only thing that will "rein in the NLRB" is the removal of this turd POTUS and his merry band of misfit czars…….
Like most components of our federal government, the NLRB is unconstitutional and shouldn't even exist.
Becker and the other clown on the NLRB are "recess" appointments; they couldn't make it through the Democrat controlled Senate. This "recess" appointment deal really sucks! I know all Presidents have used it to maneuver around Congress, but my reading of the Constitution and using a strict standard tells me something different. My take is that the President has the power to appoint someone temporarily when a vacancy occurs DURING the recess of the Congress.
Article II, Section 2, last paragraph: "The President shall have Power to fill up all Vacancies THAT MAY HAPPEN DURING the recess of the Senate…" (emphasis added). Neither position on the board were vacated during the recess.
o-HOLE has gone rogue, and is pushing the envelope further and further every day, with the help of the evil mind of Cass Sunstein, who several prominent Republican senators endorsed and voted to confirm to his current post. Each and every one of those senators needs to be asked over and over what they were thinking… but we know don't we? They were thinking of their next big inside stock tip. That's why we can't seem to get any action out of them. They are afraid of rocking the boat, afraid it might crash their investment portfolio.
The US Constitution is a mere trifle to them.
.
I forgot, we no longer have a president, we have a King.
We are no longer a nation of laws, but a nation of ONE MAN!
Either the ballot box or the people rising up and taking the reigns BACK.
Unless the man voted in is another establishment goon then it'll be business as usual which is what I'm thinking we are going to be stuck with.
Excellent insight! The stupid party will allow this crap because they don't want to be painted as extreme going into the election of the century. Obama is one and done. Soon I expect he will announce that he won't seek a second term. Hilary shall be foisted on US as our only hope for salvation, just like she and Bill planned. They know all the secrets and will destroy Obama if he won't step down. The race card won't be a factor as the truth if made public in small doses will shake this country to it's core and beyond.PS prepare to get hosed again America. The Clintons were robbed in 2008 and they are flexing their muscles and won't accept defeat in 2012.
Sorry my friend, he is no king he is a puppet! The real power brokers of the left were scorned three years ago and they are about to hatch their coup. Hilary to the rescue will be the new big push in early/ mid 2012. They are just working out the details and timing now.
Um…I hate to be the one to break it to you, but there's nothing illegal about the NLRB issuing new rules. Regulatory agencies do it all the time. They're not writing law – they're changing administrative rules, which they're empowered to do under the enabling legislation which created that particular agency, in this case, the National Labour Relations Act of 1934.
I'm not defending what they're doing, just commenting that there's nothing unconstitutional happening here. As for the new rule, it's incredibly short sighted and could well result in jobs losses. Not the thing you wish to have happen in a weak economy. The way it could cause jobs losses is that when an employer gets unionised, it usually adds about 10% to his wage bill. In response, most employers will, and this is especially true during economic hard times, shrink the labour force and implement productivity improvements to keep roughly the same amount of production with fewer, albeit more costly, workers.
This administration has never showed a whole lot of real concern for the impact of their actions on business, except for the individual businesses of their campaign contributors. This NLRB rule change is no exception. And they wonder why hiring isn't happening.
one small thing (actually, not that small), Obama's ego! It's as large as all outdoors. He will never step down. The DNC is stuck with this anchor.
I agree with you regarding the ego. But the truth is ugly and the masters know the secrets, all of them. After all, obama didn't create his persona he just sold it. When faced with ruin and disgrace what would you do? You could say I am merely speculating and I am, this is just my theory, but it all adds up. coincidence? I don't believe in it. The Clintons are true power brokers and Obama using the race card stole the nomination. Look at Bill and Hilary, are these the forgiving type of people? Heck no!
If it were me? I'd step down. But I'm not a raging megalomaniac narcissist jackass like Barry.
And there's a better chance of the winter olympics being held in hell before Bill and HilDog forgive anyone.

There is nothing in the Constitution allowing for any NLRB. It needs to be eliminated immediately, not "reigned in".
Time to shut down the partisan agency until…??? Time to shut it down period!!! And a whole lot more agencies should also be abolished.
