My longtime Doctor, one of the few in my area who took TriCare Prime (because of the low reimbursment rates) closed his office last month… an office that once held 4 Doctors… left no forwarding address….
Expect to see more of this.
Obamacare is proof the left in this country won't rest until it ultimately has literal power over life and death.
My Cardiologist said on Thursday that if obamacare goes forward, he will become an employee of the government. Regular salary and benefits though. None of the headaches of private practice. Isn't this exactly what our socialist president wants? More people beholding to the government, the more government control.

I have been a physician for 30 years. I am a partner in a group that employs about 20 people. With 16 million added to Medicaid and the decreasing reimbursement rates, we are screwed. THen add to that the new crap that will hobble small businesses.
I only wish that all 3 branches of the governement were treated under the new plan.

We must teach our children the meaning of the words "I am Spartacus" "here by Spartan law we lie" and who exactly who Leonidas, William Wallace and Robert the Bruce were.
I am many times removed but directly related to the Wallace, the Bruce, Fitzgerald and Juneau lines.
They need to understand the most basic of plights of the most significant and heroic men in history to be aware of the destructive future facing them now.

Exactly. Call me paranoid, but what to do with millions of aging baby boomers (owed trillions BTW) while you're looting future generation's income with crushing debt? In any event, the left has perfected their economic-killing agenda to the point where not just doctors are being culled, but a company like I co-founded with 40 plus associates that would be fined $2k per employee under Obamacare once we reach 51 employees will stay staffed right where we are, thank you.
It is not and was not designed to lower cost or improve care…It is in place to make more people dependent on the government…Watch and see the cost spiral out of control,treatment denied and the Dems blaming everyone but themselves….Same crap different day

What your not seeing or is being reported is the restructuring that hospitals are doing across the country.
I order to deal with declining medicare payout hospitals are now laying off people starting with allied personnel.

The last word of your post says it all. We can't farm out our responsibilitiy of theaching our children to the public school system. Parents need to be engaged with their children's education through the higest level they achieve. Our responsibility to the next generation has no end.
Love or lie, this is the real choice presented us all.

Personal glory is meaningless and hollow to me.
One of my longtime doctors did the same thing about two weeks ago. I called to schedule an appt., and the message said he was closing down shop.
I really think when they find out whats in this health care bill we are in for a very rude awakening if the Republicans can't repeal it.
We can't underestimate the faith in God part at this point, either. A single strange, unexpected turn of events from Divine Providence can win or lose a huge battle or even war.
Let us be hopeful of God's providence.
I would rather experience faith than immutable fear, the left seems to relish in fear.
My primary care Dr has stopped seeing new patients, and his nurses have that brittle, forced cheer. My oncologist has been looking worried, and his nurses are very depressed. This is not a good situation.
Luckily I still have one here in OK. I had to find a different ortho guy (medicare is my primary with TriCare for Life as secondary) when barrycare got signed. He didn't even wait, he said it passes I'm retiring…he did. I can only hope the internist, ortho, and eye docs don't quit before I get a few things done.
I was on a Christian forum the other week, and that very passage came up- small world! And I have been praying that very Psalm ever since it was pointed out to me.
Don't worry. Obama will "BULLSHIT" his way out of it and everything will be fine. (except for the IDIOTS who STILL believe anything he says !)

One of my neighbors keeps saying that the government will take care of all medical expenses and that drugs don't really cost very much. He gets this exhalted look like a Jesus freak on drugs. Pure faith. "Obama will provide". It's obscene.
My mother works for AT&T; she's worked for them for nearly 20 years, back when they were Ameritech. She started as a secretary, they paid for her bachelors and masters, she always had great benefit through them, completely covered, and she worked her way up the ladder until she was really high up, nearly 6-figure salary. Literally the American dream; she started with no education or money and ended up with a good life and enough to help pay for my college. Now there is a threat that AT&T will simply pay the fines and throw their employees into the government system. As an independent adult I am no longer on her tab, but is that what she spent 20 years working her butt off for, so the government could take care of her?
I know people who are refusing to go to medicine because of this. I know people who will quit, or retire early. I asked someone who was in favor of this what he thought of people like that, and whether he was afraid that "a day would come when there would be free health care for all in name, but in practice the only thing that would be available would be a claim check and a waiting line?" He said, "F**k them. Pardon my French, but f**k them." That's a direct quote. Hear that doctors? That's what the system thinks of you if you refuse to support it. F**k you. Literally.
The system cannot work without the people who provide the goods. Bring the system to its knees through starvation. Withdraw your sanction, and it will collapse. It will be hard, but better to die on your feet than live on your knees.
Excellent choice of screen name, as I am sure that is exactly how the Obamunists look at you medical professionals. Meanwhile, pure free market capitalism, just like abstinence, works every time it is tried, in my book. So Doc, if you are by any chance in the Central Ohio area, I'd like to know how you feel about cash……just asking….?

Dr. Boone, thanks for your service to the people of your community. Essentially, your experience, and that of your Medicare patients has proven that big government is not the answer. Let's call it a failed experiment and move on to something better, i.e. something totally the opposite of Obamacare.
Solution? Repeal Obamacare. ASAP.
repeal is tedious and the way they wrote it, I expect very difficult.
Just defund it. Jambo.
Repeal it. Keep on sending new reps to the Hill to do the job after firing the ones that refuse to do so. We don't need this crap sitting there just waiting for some new leftist legislature to start it up at a future date.
There is nothing the government does that it does well. From the Post Office to the IRS, to the local court house government is inefficient, unresponsive, and bureaucratic. Yet we get more government every year. It's time to clean house.
I live in an affluent suburb in North Atlanta – a mile from Dr. Boone's office. My heart goes out to her as well as all the other really fine, dedicated, and caring doctors who are being driven out of practice… and to their many patients that will suffer for it – because of the 'great reforms' in ObamaCare.
In this area, and all of North Metro Atlanta, no pulmonologists, nor many other sub-specialist, continues take Medicare and/or Medicaid… and ObamaCare hasn't even gone into effect yet! But then it has more to do with a giant power grab & further crippling the US economy than health care. It's all a ruse that would make Bernie Madoff proud!
In November, DO NOT VOTE for anyone who is not willing to sign a pledge to resign if they don't work for AND vote for the REPEAL of ObamaCare in its entirety… no compromise. PERIOD…. Starting from scratch, Tort Reform comes first. Then on to common sense actual reforms that don't KILL: doctor's practices, patients, the private insurance industry, etc.
I've been away for a few days has Bret Jacobson every apologized for dissing AZ's anti illegal immigration initiative? I never saw anything. So they are still allowing Liberal leaning bloggers to post here. Bret, I think you should go down to Nogales, AZ and spend a week there. Better yet, take a leisurely stroll through the Sonoran Desert, be sure to bring your bleeding liberal heart with you.
I have joined and signed petitions and donated to repeal ObamaCare organizations and I still see this behemoth moving forward. I live in Socal and I gave up the chiropractor I was seeing because he's had too much Obama kool-aid, he's convinced that Obama care will help his practice because more people will have insurance (what a friggin idiot). My primary care physician (of foreign origin) thinks ObamaCare is the next best thing to sliced bread. Praise Obama Care is what I am hearing in SoCal. I'm so disgusted by it.
