Let me guess, you are also the first to oppose TARIFFS which would create American jobs and increase our security (in two ways – less dependence on foreign goods and less economic destruction of our homeland.)

Well if seriously.. if we could all get together one day and just flood D.C. with postcards like this.. literally millions of them.. I think they would get the message. Of course, if you just want to mail some other postcard because you can't print this out.. the idea is, give their post offices a flood of new packages, just like we tied up their phone lines. I think the postcards are nice but if they all look the same the post office is just going to throw em all in a pile and sort em later.
For one, their post offices be tied up for a few days, but also it would give us something to do to maintain our intensity, and maybe even be reported in the MSM. Although they will call us violent and racist tea partiers for sending these postcards, even MSNBC watchers will be skeptical. Only problem is we need a signal..
So far, they are blind and deaf. I'd like to compare them with them with the three Monkeys – hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil – but the speak part doesn't fit well with the apology tours, assault on American's and having too many back up teleprompters. I bet they take back up generators too.
The govt. has a parasitic relationship with the private sector, President Blacula and his minions are leeches, the difference is a leech is smart enough not to kill his host.
MSNBC watchers believe what told, they even think it's their idea and not the man behind the curtain. They would even swallow the report that the rainforest was destroyed by the mass sending and important government mailings were hampered.

the greedy bunch know *exactly* what they are doing to small business – that's their point. It's hard to take over a hundred thousand small businesses, but they've already shown how easy it is to take over a corporation of 50K employees. Small business is a major obstacle to their goals of turning us into a socialist "utopia". IOW, it must be destroyed.

randy i am not happy with some of the republican shenanigans of the past but I intend to reward the house republicans and most of the senate republicans for the stands they have taken of late. Are some of these stands just political responding to the nashing of teeth outside their offices, OF COURSE but…. at least they are paying attention and understand there are consequences for bad behavior. Throw the bums out and take back the republican party but there are too many folks in the squishy middle to attempt to form a new party and have sucess. Connie, you are absolutely correct. We need to come up with a way to make sure the replacements we hire don't change when they get to WDC. Perhaps we need to come up with a "spend a dollar and you are fired" contract for each candidate we get elected. It should also have a "reduce the government by 10% each year or you are not getting a paycheck clause as well." I think my inner capitalist is showing…

Hey BusProf! Good evening my friend. I like your idea but I think we should do better than 10% reduction. We could start with all subsidies and grants and cut 5% every month going forward. Give able bodied welfare abusers 90 days to get it in gear and then a 50% cut in benefits with a 5% reduction each quarter therafter and in at about 30 months it would be over. Cut off 75% of all support to the UN within 12 months and then we would be comparable to other nations supporting the fools. Realign all government workers to market rate in both wages and pensions including those already retired over 24 months. Cease all borrowing within 6 months. If we can't afford it, we don't need it (kind of like our home budgets!). Stop the pussyfoot exploration for oil and drill where it is known to be. If we did this and curtailed imports, farmers would plant food and capital would bring back MFG. Recession ends, people work and America HEALS. Also, advise all illegals to haul out the way they came or we will declare war on them. Stop the years of immigration court games and do a barb wire surrounded tent city. Trial and deportation within 30 days.

I'm amazed at how many people just flatly refuse to educate themselves about their government. They won't discuss politics because they say it's too controversial or too boring or too upsetting. The majority of my FB friends have nothing to say about healthcare reform yet they all thought the world should know their bra color.
People need to really take the time to think deeply about what they truly believe and then find a group that aligns with those beliefs. Blindly voting a party line or assuming votes don't matter because all politicians are the same is what has gotten us to this point.
I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but please- do whatever you can to get those you know involved. What's happening to our country is too important to ignore!

Small businesses are being "slaughtered" by the Obama administration. Obama spends $800 billion to get about 100,000 jobs. If a fraction of that money went to small businesses in the form of tax cuts, you would not see unemployment as high as it is today. Instead we wasted the money, got no jobs, went into debt, borrowed to pay the debt, and ruined our children's future. Other than that, everything's fine.

If you want to combat Obama's programme you need to appeal to groups in society which are harmed by it, and, frankly, get money from them. Wheeling and dealing. Obama won because he had the money, the opposition won't make a dent unless you have more money. As we speak he is consolidating his hold on various sectors of the economy via federal handouts. Health care offers you the opportunity to appeal to the medical profession, at least; i'd make the most of that.

Tom, I have been thinking along the same lines. We need to support or own local communities; recovery needs to start from the bottom up since Washington is so very disconnected to the masses. I know it will be hard to pay more, but for those who can truly afford it, let's do it … we are already sacrificing much anyway … at least this way we can sacrifice for the right reasons.
Small business is the backbone of America. This explains the continued assault on it.
I agree. I shop at my local neighborhood grocery store and drugstore, even if their prices are a little higher. The nicest part is that I can walk over there, or ride my bike. I shop at Target once a month, but I need to rethink that. Shopping at locally-owned stores keeps my money in my local community instead of sending it off to a big corporation in Minneapolis.
Republicans should go hard after every single seat with a simple united plan against Obama Pelosi and Reid.
Here in NY we have Senator Gillibrand who portrayed her self as a centrist and then voted with Obama, Reid and Pelosi every single step of the way. A vote for any democrat this fall is a vote for the Obama, Reid, Pelosi policies. First, I agree with the above in principle though I will not shop at a "union" store if at all possible here in CA because of where their dues go and who they support.
Second I'm not sure why Target and Walmart are "bad." Given their economies of scale, they do a great service in delivering lower prices. I was in banking and did several loans for folks who work at Walmart . They liked working there.

WOW thanks chopper and rckmom! It will never happen because I do not have an Ivy League PEDIGREE! If we can individually and as a group start the channeling up thru the Tea Party and Conservative candidates some really good ideas that can be of great help. We know the wisdom of the old saying the sometimes you can't see the forest for the trees. Too often the elected in an effort to please everybody who is part of a big block of voters forgets that and just gives in to the squeeky wheels.
I would like to see a commitment of shrinking gov't ewmployees without special incentives to retire. Office of Personnel and Mgmt should meet with Corp America to see how it is done. Also, a hiring freeze and budget reduction plan that is based in reality not pie in the sky tax increases we as a nation can ill afford. All of these Govt Execs need to manage to reduced budgets and headcounts or be put out of the cushy jobs they have. It is called accountability.
He may issue blanket pardons to all NON-Violent drug offenders which in itself has both good and bad points. Prison costs are higher than welfare in most cases. A real problem with this is that a Pardon of such a magnitude could set the economy on it's arse big time. BTW, where does all the money come from to inspect the detritus flowing across our border from China and elsewhere? You know, they don't inspect it all and even if they did they are bound to miss something. Like the lead paint. I guess to you, the safety of Americans and their prosperity should all be sacrificed so you can buy cheap junk at WalMart.
