You probably thought it was outrageous that SEIU president Andy Stern has persecuted his own members and driven away large chunks of his own organization.
You probably thought it was incredible that he dropped tens of millions of dollars on politics after leading a split in labor because the other federation was spending too much on politics.
You probably thought it was horrifying to hear how SEIU badgers — almost terrorizes — companies that don’t cave into the union’s card check demands.
Even with all that, you’ll probably still manage to be shocked that Stern has criticized Sen. Joe Lieberman and Sen. Ben Nelson for halting disastrous health care legislation by saying, “There are a lot of terrorists in the Senate who think we are supposed to negotiate with them when they have their particular needs that they want met.”
Stern has flown the cuckoo nest. We wonder if the rest of the labor movement really wants to tie their wagon to this guy.

No suprise, Stern's self interests (Not the Union members) take precident in all things. If Obamacare passes the Unions can sluff off all those pensions on the fed and Stern can support more politicians and on the cycyle goes, right down the Progressive black hole.

I don't know why he is so upset about these Senators. Lieberman & Nelson are looking out for their best interests the same way Andy Stern has been for doing for his Union. UNION Members in every Local need to go to meetings and remove current elected officials and put in honest folks. There are still many around and they can go to the National Meetings and REMOVE FALSE LEADERS like Stern and many others. They are not representing you the members. I speak from experience and there is no reason for UNION MEMBERS NOT TO CONTROL the Collective Bargaining process instead of allowing the Socialists to destroy America. Remember, the Unions purpose is to get you a fair wage and a decent enviornment to work in. The purpose is not to destroy OUR COUNTRY for the benefit of the worlds poor and LAZY. I am just over these liberals and progressives. Once people realize that this notion of a one world love fest is a joke and that everything we have in this country has been paid for by America blood, the sooner we can get back on track.

That may be the wage but many Unions have a bounty on membership which pays wayyyyyyyyy more than the wage. Check into it. The Local Pres of the Union I belonged to got $0.10 per member (as I recall) and that more than tripled the annual wage package. State VP's and we had 9 in AZ also got another bounty. Pennies add up to a lot of $'s.
I was just getting ready to say the same thing!! We should try and find out how many different company's have stern unions in them and forward this comment of his to them. Never forget that the rank and file are members in the first place because they couldn't see through the BS to begin with. Either that, or they sold their souls for a fat pay check. Another tool of policy making found in the pouch of politics. If you've read Carl Von Clausewitz's On War you'd understand why wars are a necessary evil for sovereign nations. A nation must be willing to use all means necessary to enforce their will on other nations as well as retain their rightful positions in the world. Terrorism, while in the realm of warfare, isn't declared by sovereign nations.
Can you stop contemplating your own belly button long enough to think a little? The declaration of 'war' you cite was not a military, guns and bombs kind of war. They were protesing and boycotting German products. So Hitler's answer to the protests and boycotts was to murder them? And you're defending this guy? Sure glad we have the right to bear arms, and use them.
What does he have to gain? I can think of several outcomes. First – the union could claim that the new healthcare bill is so good that he will say that all his members should be included in the plan thus freeing up union funds from the pension fund that would have gone for health insurance in retirement. Second – By exempting the Union Healthcare plans from taxes it is a recruiting tool to convince more people to join the Union. I am sure there are others but just a few off the top.

SEIU has always been a problem. In the 1980's, other major unions would tell anyone wanting to organize NOT to talk to SEIU. I believe the attitude was run, don't walk out through the nearest door. What conservatives in all parts of the country should do is form phone chains, much like prayer chains. When someone sees a Union protest going on they start the chain….then all the out of work conservatives pile in their cars and form an anti-protest around them. Signs like "Fire the Unions–Hire the People" and "Unions are Bankrupting America" and maybe even "Get Your Fist Out Of My Face".

Only few really know the true reason behind the Civil War. I like most was taught the typical 'vanilla' reason, it was in college when I learned the truth. I will never forget it, my US History Professor asked "how many, with a show of hands, here have been taught the reason we had the Civl War was because of slavery?" Everyone in the auditorium raised their hands, his response "your all wrong and I will show you why!" He did the same thing earlier in the semester about the American Revolution that is was taught to most students it started over taxes but we learned no so and the 2 wars were about maintaining freedom and a way of life. guess i wen to a good school b/c all I hear about is how radical colleges are and all liberals, I can say my school was not!
