You Decide: Dems’ Level of Grief
by Bret JacobsonA friend drew my attention to the seven stages of successful grieving, the first few of which sound an awful lot like the whining, recriminations, and bargaining we’ve heard since Democrats lost their super-majority after Scott Brown won the special election for Massachusetts’s open Senate seat.
So, here are the 7 stages. See Which sound familiar from recent articles, and which steps to healing (our nation and our budget) Democrats need to walk:

I think Dems only cycle through the first three… perhaps four. If they ever get to five, like I did, then they emerge libertarian-conservatives.

I envision Barry, in his loincloth, with the entire dimocrat party in a big black cauldron, while Barry smiles and stirs the pot. I just don't know yet if they are in hot water, or if he is boiling them in oil. Time will tell.
I think they are in anger, both at themselves and the…..well…everybody. Next they will begin to bargain with the DNC and as the past week has shown, some are stating to bargain with the people. They are a few steps behind us in fighting for the soul of their party. We chose not to fight for a party but, formed the Teaparty movement. I do not expect the left to attempt anything of the kind. I'm not sure if the moderates or the far left will control the party after November 2010, and not sure which will benefit the right more.

Listening to the talking heads, they will stuck at stage 1 for a good long time. The pain in stage 2 comes in November.

Look for them to form their version of the Tea Party Movement.

With the election last Tuesday, the likelihood has lessened. I think the WH crisis team will be back mugging tourists in the back alleys of Chicago long before November, but it's hardly out of the question that Obama orchestrate a crisis of sufficient terror that the elections would need to be "postponed."
This may seem obvious, but I don't think anyone cares if they recover or not.
It may be cold, but I don't think any of them give a rat's ass whether any of us live or die.

It almost seems to me the only explanation for their total deafness to the voice of the American people. It is so unlike career politicians to deliberately forge ahead with policies that will cause them to lose not only their jobs as individuals, but their power in Congress. Either they are truly and terminally stuck on stupid, or they have some kind of dirty trick up their sleeves. I wouldn't rule out either possibility.

Let's not confuse Dems with proglibs. All Dems aren't bad, just as all Rep.'s aren't bad. It's just that way more proglibs have found a home in the Dem's camp. Both parties need to purge their proglibs.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a few Dems quit/resign in the next couple of months so they can be replaced like Teddy was, but they will be replaced by a proglib [stealing a phrase from above post]. From the early days, the Tea Party Movement is but an extension of American traditions and perfectly correct. Surely, the Old World, such as England and France, would never permit such a thing, as their traditions were inclined to be bloody conflicts, not peaceful demonstrations. I have rated the responses. First place goes to Reactionaries Second place to wldbil and third to KMcD and Laura. It was hard to choose, because they all were observant and original. Unlike the way the Socialists like to tell themselves about the conservatives.
To answer the question myself, The socialists are stuck now at a combination of 1 and 3 denying to anyone who will listen that Scott Brown's victory doesn't mean anything while making disingenuous attempts at conciliatory gestures. After a while, they will skip to an upward turn, as the November elections approach. They will be in denial that anything like what happened in Massachusetts could happen again. I will stop there. I don't know what will happen in November, and don't want hazard a guess. I would like to say that there will be a lot of incumbents removed, but it remains to be seen.

There's a difference between individual grieving and Team Grieving. The Progressive Dems are in shock and denial, but are in The Blame Game Mode, behind closed doors as much as possible. They can't make an upward turn, they can only go the right, as they realize that they are very left of center. Their Pinnacle of Hope is Mr Obama, which is the limit to their Hope. They are quite busy reconstructing against their own Major Plans which causes Mixed Emotions, which lead to panic. They are fighting amongst themselves. Their emotion of being "pissed off" over-rides their Grief Situation, while their goal of Socialism in our Christian Republic is quite shallow.. Think of them as the loser in today's important Football Game…What will the losing team do, after the grief is over with?

I suspect most Democrats who can see past next week aren't worried at all. Within the next decade it will become impossible for Republicans to win the White House or get a majority in Congress because of simple demographics. With the exception of a statistically insignificant minority, blacks and Hispanics have no interest in conservatism or the Republican party. It is about to get to the point where there will simply not be enough white people in America for conservatism to have a chance. Sorry, but this is just reality and no amount of "tea partying" will do anything about it.
