The Tea Party’s Focus: Elections
by Bill HennessyFor the Tea Party movement, 2009 was about coming together, meeting our brothers and sisters in arms, and standing athwart socialism, yelling, “Stop!” It worked. President Obama entered office promising socialized medicine, card check, and cap and trade all before the August recess. He went 0 for 3 thanks a grassroots uprising that came together like spattered quicksilver.

In our desire to fix things, we also launched a lot of legislative initiatives. These initiatives included various sovereignty amendments in the states, petitions for Constitutional Conventions, petitions for redress of grievances, petitions of right, and state laws exempting states from any national healthcare legislation. Each of these was a bold and important step, and such laws, amendments, and petitions should continue. Next year.
Let’s not fool ourselves. While the Tea Party movement has been very effective, it has been effective only when focused on a very narrow set of compelling causes. Our quick responses to card check and cap and trade convinced the White House to suspend those initiatives until we weren’t looking. Our overwhelming attack on ObamaCare took the last bit of energy and time from each Tea Party patriot. We left it all on the field.
In 2010, our focus must be to overthrow the leftists in Congress at the ballot box. By definition, our focus will be diffused. We will have to divide up 40 critical races and do our best on 395 others. And that’s just the House. We also must win a dozen Senate races, a dozen gubernatorial races, and countless state legislative seats. Our task is mighty.
We are up to the challenge. But we are not up to the challenge of winning tough races AND waging state legislative battles AND fighting for Constitutional Amendments AND the myriad other causes that we’ve taken up. If we are to prevail on November 2, 2010, we must table our various legislative initiatives until after the election. Our power is without limits.
You might say, “But we’re so close. We can’t quit now.” I want you to ask yourself this. If you wake up on November 3 and realize that the Tea Party movement was put down by a corrupt White House, that some great conservative candidate lost while you and the people you influence worked on a state sovereignty bill that will be ruled unconstitutional by Obama’s federal court appointees, will you be able to look at your children and grandchildren ever again? Will you ever forgive yourself if your effort toward a state’s non-binding resolution costs us our freedom?
That’s how stark our choices are in 2010. We either take control of Congress, or we learn to live in a socialist empire where your children’s careers are determined by a bureaucrat, where your wages are directed by a federal labor board, and where the words you speak are approved by a government correctness czar—under threat of incarceration.
This is the year. If we do not take back Congress, the socialist tsunami bearing down on the beachhead of freedom will overwhelm our valiant resistance. Let’s put aside the bills and amendments until a friendly national legislature is seated and ready to reward our hard work for their election. As Ben Franklin said over 230 years ago, if we don’t hang together, we will surely hang apart.

I agreed, the focus is on 11-2-10, lets call it Freedom Day!
Bill and company in a combined effort "rocked the vote" in there area . Do not let the talking heads say the Tea Party is over , every battle has casualties and loses . This is standard and par for the course , the key is we keep fighting and keep organizing .
True enough though I believe we can still afford to keep skeleton crews on the other initiatives. We certainly cannot afford to turn away from them all together when there is so much at stake. That being said some of these innitiatives can be taken up again after the elections whereas the elections are on a schedule.
The Tea "Party" doesn't need leaders. This is the essence of this movement. The method of making the gripe and watching the "leaders" fall in line.
We don't need or WANT leaders in this movement as it then becomes about that person. If someone wants to lead the country fine, then we may back them or some of us may back them. When someone rises that speaks for the majority then We the People may have a chance again.
DTOM!

8-28 Washington DC !!!! Plan a family vacation if possible … go to the museums and teach your kids about history !!
Remember were not even 1 yr old yet !!!!
Already booked it. Glenn Beck will be at the Lincoln Memorial.
Let's just hope our votes are not negated by fraud, or worse; suspended by martial law, due to some manufactured crisis. The Progessive vermin who have infested our government will do anything, ANYTHING!, to stay in power.
We agree and have been working on this. We think the Tea Party Movement should make a focused effort in 2010 on taking the House. Here's a list of 86 Democrats and 8 Republicans that can and should be fired in 2010. We need to take a net of 40 seats away from the Democrats to stop the "Progressive" destruction machine, our goal is to Fire FiFty .
We in the Tea Party need to first focus on taking the republican party in the primaries.
First we need to field true conservatives to defend and restore the Constitution, then we can take congress from the socialists. We can't fall victim to the 3rd party route. That will cement democrat control.
After 2010, the Tea Party can continue to clean up the republicans, and drain the democrat voters that eventually open their eyes, and join the cause for freedom as well.
Exactly. All one needs to do is look at the recent disasterous results in Illinois. The Tea Party was divided and the "machine" won and don't think for a moment that the "machine" didn't help to keep it that way.
Love that Ben Franklin quote! Socialist Tsunami is a great way to put this Progressive wave of destruction. There are some very valid points here, in relation to the need to consolidate our Second American Revolution to save the Republic. Concentration of effort on federal legislators and issues is tremendously important, along with a strong effort for the state.
What’s the deal with the Constitutionality of a senators recall election in Virginia?
"Tea Party movement, 2009 was about…standing athwart socialism, yelling, 'Stop!'” – Bill Hennessy
"[NATIONAL REVIEW] stands athwart history, yelling Stop…" – William F. Buckley
For those who didn't catch the allusion.
I think this high roller style convention was a bad idea for a grass roots movement. The Tea Party is an internet based movement.
What they (and I am not sure who "they" is) should have done using modest donations was host some conservative speeches and and some panel discussions (where open, uncensored debate can occur) and broadcast this live on youtube (like a concert). We do not need main stream media coverage and fancy hotels to communicate and coordinate.
That would cost very little and everybody can participate. Lets bring this movement to the 21st century. We seem to think we need to raise money to accomplish anything. That includes Sarah P, but I am confident she will figure this out the next time around.
Exactly the conclusion that the came to: The day of the mass protest is over. Now it's time to toss the socialists in congress out of office and replace them with freedom-loving capitalists. Two weeks ago, we formed the Asheville Tea PAC.
I must have messed up the HTML above. The missing link was Asheville Tea Party. (I hope this one works.)
In the years to come, you will talk to your grandchildren to tell them “I was on the Right when Right wasn’t cool”. They will thank us for the action we take NOW to save the Republic from this Progressive Obamunism takeover of the dreams of our Forefathers.
Well put Bill. Thanks for focusing the lens.
Conservatives do need a leader to rally around. The Tea Party Does need organization. The primary in Illinois proves this. To find some successes is great but to win is everything….and the only outcome that is acceptable.
Appoint someone without dreams of being the President, but who has the charisma to inspire all of us.
Create a game plan to win and set it to motion.
Write a new "Contract with America"
Bill thanks for all the info in the article. I agree that we have done a great job and that we can't loose steam. There is so much more to do. I don't now who your talking about when you say the top 40 critical races for congress but I hope one of them is to take down Mr Alan Grayson Fl dist 8. You know him people. He is the one that said Republicans want people to die and he also said to Chainey ST*U, he also called the lady a K street whore. I know you have to have seen him all over national news. Anyway he is a disgrace and has to go. Let me tell you we have the perfect replacement here in District 8. That is Patricia Sullivan, she is a true grassroots conservative republican and she also is the one that started the North Lake Tea Party. I hope that we can get national support to help her take Grayson down. Check her out and if this isn't one of the critical races your talking about, please look into adding it. http://www.patriciasullivanforcongress.com
Private, I’m thinking out-loud here. There are Progressives that voting Republican, and a large number of Progressive Republicans in legislature – there are Constitutionalists that have been voting Democrat, and a small number of Conservative Democrats in legislature. So with the convoluted Republican and Democratic parties, we should bring the Constitutionalists together under the name of what party? Should this Second American Revolution be much more than Reagan Conservative? Should this be anything but the complete abolition of the total Progressive ideals?
Yes, priority one is getting conservatives elected
Check out the new version of "Mmm Mmm Mmm Barack Hussein Obama" at: http://www.myspace.com/rogerweber
You'll get a much needed laugh!
Right Wing – you are so right! As a TEA party site organizer, I get emails from members concerning the "leadership" of the TEA Party Movement. The only answer I give them is YOU are the leaders of the TEA Party Movement. These national groups that have popped up such as TEA Party Nation – TEA Party Patriots, even the TEA Party Express are here because WE are. If they were to disappear tomorrow – there would be 6 groups to replace them next week because we are STILL HERE FIGHTING.
Let's work to ensure that TEA Partiers become the corrupt – business as usual- poltical machine's worst nightmare this NOVEMBER 2010!
I'll vote for that!!
I'm just going to vote for the person who is: A)Completely open about their past; B)Wants to see our Union prosper; C)Has a history of being a good person without a hidden agenda, D)Has not shown through past deeds a history of corruption and E)Believes in the Constitution as the definitive source of law.
It's as simple as that.
The tea parties are local movements with their own priorities, so they'll do what is a priority tot hem. Let's hope we clear out any political party that supports big government.
“We The People” are the Tea party folks – it exists it the hart of the people , R or D in voting registration has nothing to do with it , either party can save the Republic from this insidious foe that is taking over . the candidate needs to understand that We are not electing a King , We are electing a servant .
In my neighborhood , with a stroke of the pen ,this foe , has destroyed entire neighborhoods through out the county in the name of clean water — This With out Compensation — its a cancer coming to your neighborhood if We the People lay down now !!
Live free or die
As long as a percieved disuse for "leadership"isn't confused with a lack of need for effective organization and action….
Good job! Where would one go to look for upcoming events/rallies, action items re upcoming elections, local news affecting local politics, etc.?
Can Illinois do the same as in Massachusetts and bring our country back from socialism?

As far as leadership is concerned, let me offer this recommendation. All of the old veterans will understand what I’m talking about. We were taught a concept about conduct of an American prisoner of war. If the enemy removed the commanding officer for the POW’s, the next in the chain of command would step up and take over. This is how the tea parties should be structured. But, to do this, everyone needs to be well versed on the issues. That way, everyone is a leader and no one is a specific target. The MSM and all other critics will seek out those who are not well versed, or prepared, to try to paint everyone with the same brush. Knowledge is power, this is indisputable, the rest, is to learn not to be intimidated. I would also recommend hiring or working with media specialists to give everyone pointers on how to deal with these situations.
Not sure if I trust a politically organized Tea Party party. I like the way it is now, free, fluid and right-on!!
Tea Partiers Rule.
Abso F-ing Lutely Brilliant !!!!!! I laughed my ass off.
If I have a choice between a RINO and a Democrat, I will move heaven and earth to get to the polls to vote for the RINO. A gridlocked congress is a good congress.
By definition, a RINO is a democrat in a republican's clothing. That's on of the reasons why McCain didn't get elected president. That's no better than being a straight ticket voter.
Same here, agreed!
Obama can pray publicly at a Prayer Breakfast every moring for no criticism of his horrible policies…. pathetic Obama.
I think we need more Tea Party ledership to prioritize and narrow the initiatives being worked on. Also to focus on the Tea Party candidates for office so there aren't 4 candidates running against each other… so we can focus our efforts.
It doesn need some leadership. Not one person, maybe a committee, or at least a concensus. We need focus and priorities. Especially in 2010.
Yeah whatever, I think the two go hand in hand. By getting people to the polls to vote for conservative candidates, that will also boost votes on initiatives, and elect people who will put forward congressional initiatives. People always focus too much on funding, campaign organizational strength, etc. The truth is that voters vote for whoever most closely shares their views, as long as the message is consistent.

Recently in the state of Tn there was a Tea Party Caucus to establish a platform, vision and mission statement, it exists to provide networking opportunities, promote education and other functions to coalesce the movement and further the cause of conservatism, traditions that made America great, study of the constitution and principles of our founding fathers and documents limiting the role of government. It's a very positive entity giving the working man and women a voice.
This sounds like a sensible idea.
Here is the only change we need. Suggested 28th Amendment to the US Constitution “The Governmental Burden on the Economy may not exceed 15% of GDP”
Great suggestion. Let's do all we can to truly make it a day for freedom.
We The People MUST NOT allow ANYONE to discourage us. That includes all political machines and MSM.
I agree with you…It's like the Massachusetts and Illinois elections…The
people there are more liberal then in a lot of places, so they won't give
us a true conservative, as much as that would be desirable…They just
wouldn't vote for a true conservative!…In some places, as much as
I hate it,we will have to settle for the lesser of the two evils….We just
can't afford to be purist because we won't see much change with that
attitude…
I think in the case of Brown, or if a Republican gets elected in Illinois, we'll
have to keep reminding them, that we got them elected, and we can
take them out….
I totally agree with you about Newt!
I abhor those who only decide to do the right thing, after discovering that not doing the right thing doesn’t get them what they want.
wonder_all2, please elaborate on that malfeasance. I believe that more than a few other commenters have had their names hijacked.
Absolutely! Some kept yammering about Scott Brown's being pro-choice, but it was a given, if he had come out hard as a pure conservative, he wouldn't have won.
As it is, he can put the brakes on many progressive/liberal/Dem machinations.
After all, he does need to listen to and represent the legitimate voters in his state. That's what we've been hammering D.C. about – that they don't listen to We The People.
Scott Brown can not take marching orders from any state other than the one that elected him.
The MSM WANTS us all to believe that the Tea Party is over, because the Tea Party patriots are the MSM's worst nightmare.
We need people in office who will get rid of all of the socialist policies that are in effect today, Just a few examples:
1. A government run police force
2. A government run fire dept
3. Public Schools
4. Government regulated utilities
5. Social Security
6. Medicare and Medicade
7. Government regulation of the media and/or the FCC
8. Labor unions
9. OSHA
10.Affirmative action, civil rights, and anti-discrimination laws
AND EVERY OTHER POLICY AND BELIEF LISTED ON THE SITE BELOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
http://socialistparty-usa.org/platform/
We're in complete agreement…In an earlier post someone
posted a list of people to get rid of in Congress…Chris Smith
was on that list….Chris Smith isn't a "pure" conservative, but
I didn't think he belonged on that list…He is probrably the
best we can get out of New Jersey….I think the tea party people
should keep it all in perspective and realize that there are parts
of the country that are so entrenched with Liberals that we'll
have to settle with some that aren't "conservative enought"….
The Tea Party is the best thing to happen to politics. If powerful people join the party so much the better as long as the pary's principles remain well founded. Once the party of Acorn and Seiu are trounced in November I hope the Tea Party remains vigilant and holds the officials accountable. It's simple. If the Tea Party loses marxism wins. The democrats and some Rhinos will do what they can do to destroy the Tea Party but they're not controlled by lobbyist they're guided by the principles of the founding fathers and those guys won it all.. They defeated the enemy and won the war of ideas and principles.
Yes yes and yes. Actually the best thing that could happen would be for the liberals to break off from the democratic party. We'd pound both of those parties into China.
It is up to political organizations to campaign for the candidates.
Ring door bells, organize and have coffees , organize debates, create ads, raise money, etc.
We the Tea Party people, on the other hand, merely want the competitors and winners to never forget that they represent the people by upholding the Constitution of the United States.
Who will win in 2010, hopefully, has been pretty much decided.
Who wins in 2012 will depend pretty much on how the rules of the Constitution are considered in order to advance the will of the people.
I sure hope you are wrong and we do not harm the movement, but I do tend to agree with you.
What you are calling socialism under Obama has been around for a long time. It's already to late.
How many of the Republicans voted for foreign aid to Haiti and approved sending the military there? And they call themselves conservatives, puhlease.
Yours Truly,
Knox
Well Johnny, the democrats wanted to adopt another guetto, and the Republicans wanted to secure another country with the military. It was a win win.
Johnny, hold your horses. Won't the federal reserve and a 2nd (jobs bill) Keynesian shot in the arm of the economy bring things right around?
No, the government has jumped off the cliff already, and are just treading air telling the American people to hang on everything will be ok. It's only a matter of time until the canyon floor appears.
'The Tea "Party" doesn't need leaders. This is the essence of this movement. The method of making the gripe and watching the "leaders" fall in line. '
I agree Right. This movement has already accomplished much, and I am certain there is a whole lot more to come…
However is sure would be nice if a 'real deal' George Washington type should appear out of the smoke, I'm betting on it…
When I look at this Congress and Senate, I see something strange indeed. This bunch of "progressives" have made an effort to totally destroy the Capitalist system and take control of our medical care and our auto makers and our banks and insurance companies and wall street and soon our guns. If I am thinking right, this is a communist takeover of our government. Progressive is just another name for communist. Every time I say this, some fool calls me racist or crazy. Read Das Kapital by Karl Marx to get the blueprint for this movement. Sal Alinski is the latest profit for the movement and Obama taught about this man. This is his hero. These people must be stopped.
Proud Tea Partier here! I am focused 95% on the Federal servants, and 5% on State and Local. I will work VERY hard to elect people who prescribe to:
1.) Protect and honor the Constitution of the United States of America
2.) Less government
3.) Less taxes
Anyone who voted for the House or Senate Health Bills, Cap & Trade & now raising this debt ceiling, are on my radar for being VOTED OUT!
[...] The Tea party’s Focus: Elections The Tea Party’s Focus: Elections [...]
Both parties are not only irrelevant, but dangerous. Look at what professional politicians have done. Have you heard of GOOOH? I think it is a great alternative and will result in true citizen reps. http://www.goooh.com
I think we need to look at something different. The GOOOH – Get Out of Our House – process will help us elect true reps who are not beholden to special interest money or their party and who will be accountable for their votes. This is a paradigm shift that the country is more than ready for. Check it out at http://www.goooh.com
Of course the media thinks the tea party is over…that is because they do not see real America. What they do not know is that we have stopped seeing them…they are irrelevant…both parties are irrelevant…we have stopped hearing their noise.
Focused and determined…without pause "We the People" will return to our Founding Fathers gift. Freedom!
"But a Constitution of Government once changed from Freedom, can never be restored. Liberty, once lost, is lost forever."John Adams
Well all I know is right around the time of the whole O'Keefe 1000 comment thread, my password wouldn't work anymore so I had to make a new account.
AGREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't count out the Illinois Tea Parties yet and you should not either….
What was 'lost' ? A pre-vote to determine who the state-level Republicans (RINOs mostly) would back. 3 Tea Party candidates ran, if (as I think likely) the 3 candidates combine forces and two step down and endorse the third, their combined vote count would win the election for Senator & kick out even Mark Kirk. Once the Tea Party candidate shows positive poll results, I could even see National Republican $$$ coming their way (but I won't hold my breath) as happened in the NY 23rd. Same goes for the Governor race – I personally think that with the endorsement of Wech Welensa(sp), Glen Beck, and Rush Limbaugh, Adam A….(can't pronounce it) would be my preferred choice, but I would sure as *HECK* vote for a Tea Party candidate – *ANY* Tea Party candidate – long before I'd vote for a Republican and I'd rather just not vote than back a Demorat.
Those that claim the Tea Party 'lost' in Illinois forget that the vote has not even happened yet – only the primaries – and I hold that the Tea Party primaries were successful. Again I state that the primaries are for the purpose of determining who will run from which party. The Tea Party now has a smaller field of 3 (honest) men – none of whom are career politicians so should have no problem dropping out this 'election round' for the benefit of the party.
The truth is that Illinois is so corrupt on both sides that neither established party wants anything to do with a Tea Party Candidate if means ethics get involved in politics and the party has to actually abide by some of its campaign promises. I'm convinced that the Illinois Tea Party is only 'beaten' if they give up and accept defeat, but I somehow doubt that will happen. I grew up in Illinois but now live in Ohio – I'd contribute to and support an Illinois Tea Party candidate – any Tea Party Candidate – that would help clean up the state.
The people of Illinois that live south of Chicago ('downstate') are overwhelmingly conservative. The problem is that the political parties are all based in liberal / progressive Chicago and both extremely corrupt.
A Tea Party candidate would enjoy HUGE popularity outside of Chicago and may well beat both parties.
I'm seeing more and more 'pundits' that have already pronounced Illinois Tea Party as ineffectual and 'losers'.
I'm a transplant from Illinois to Ohio and still have family and friends throughout Illinois. The problem is that most Republican candidates in Illinois are either corrupt (and finish their terms of office in the state penitentiary) or are RINOs that run to the left of non-Illinois Democrats (but since many of the Dems in Illinois are progressives like Obama) – well you get the idea of the choices presented.
I still have hope that the Illinois Tea Parties will run an independent that could well take the Governorship back from the Chicago radicals and possibly even the Illinois Senate seat this round. If not, the Tea Parties will have time to fix what went wrong and will keep pressuring the Illinois legislature until they get their 'hope-and-change' message across.
I don't think you can possibly comprehend the pent-up anger and frustration that has been building for years in Illinois against both parties and the betrayal they keep dishing out to the voters of that state – not to mention the distrust of anything remotely political coming out of Chicago.
A well-publicized Tea Party candidate in both the Governor and Senate races running as Independants without the baggage of either established party may well surprise the entire nation since Illinois voters recognize *BOTH* parties as extremely corrupt.
Great catch! Thanks. I forget that many readers aren't old enough to remember how popular that phrase remained well into the 1980s.
I looked into recalling Reps and Senators last year. It would appear that the case law is against it. The Constitution gives the House and Senate authority to retain or remove members, save for elections.
Oh believe me, I'm well aware of Illinois politics…I grew up in Daleys neighborhood..I didn't leave Illinois
til the age of 30, and still have family living in Chicago, but most live in the surrounding suburbs now…So,
I guess I can comprehend what's going on there…I've always kept up with politics, being from that neighborhood, it was something you grew up….
I don't remember any really true conservatives coming out of Illinois…(Like DeWine-Thune, Jeff Sessions, to name a few).. LaHood, Bob Michels, & Dennis Hastert were conservative, but I never thought of them as true conservatives..
I also know about the Governors that got jailed, what is this, Blago, the 5th one?…lol..(I know he's a Dem)
I hope you're right about Illinois voting in an Independant….I'm one of those that will have to see it happen…..I really believe we'll be lucky to get a half way conservative Republican….
That is indeed an interesting avatar you have there.
Agreed. I think GOOOH is a great concept, and I support it. GOOOH has spoken at several events I have attended and I think it is the future of politics.
If the "Tea Party" changes what it is and centralizes around a leadership, or comitee…
the movement will die. The reason it has wide appeal is because it is NOT specific to one or a couple causes, whith the exception of its primary cause, returning the government to its Constitutionally chartered function.
All men and women desire freedom, it is the little stuff in between that causes disagreements along the way. The whole reason the Tea Party movement is so effective is that everyone can agree that the government is too big, too expensive, and too intrusive.
I live in Illinois & we have had the most corrupt government for many years now. I don't understand why these people are willing to continue with it & vote them back in!!!! I know the Republican candidate for governor is in a very tight lead so far. He's the best conservative I've found in Illinis thus far & unless he wins in November, we will continue to go along with the Chicago Machine. I'm so frustrated with the VERY LOW turnout for our primary. How can we get more people out to vote???!!!! Also, I'd like to know more about the states that are going it alone & pulling out of the Federal jurisdiction. Where do I find info on that subject & I hope that Illinois would take a shot at that. However, there's such a strong LIBERAL movement in this state. Anyone have answers to that? Am I off base? I'm pretty new at trying to be an activist!!
Bill Brady has come up as the leading Republican candidate for Governor. I voted for him, as he turned out to be the a Conservative, experienced in business, a very good speaker. My first choice was Adam also, but due to his lack of experience, I was hesitant because of an unexperienced President that's in office now! As time goes by, I believe that Adam will be a very good candidate for a Senator or Congressman. I looked them all up on my voter's guide. I didn't even bother with those that didn't answer the questions; Dems or Repubs! If they can't state their ethics, I'm not voting for them & I urge anyone I know not to vote for them either. Thank you Tickled In Ohio. You are familiar with the types that's been running & ruining Illinois for many, many years & it seems as tho they're from both parties!! We had a very low turnout at the polls & the weather even cooperated; I just don't understand why people are not wanting to get involved & still gripe about how things are going!!!
I agree, bring on some gridlock, make them eek out every bill tooth and nail, couldn't be all bad.
I'm encouraged by the tea party even moreso lately. My favorite is the mad scramble to get away from money and centralized leadership. I bet if you dropped a pallet of cash on them in Nashville they'd scatter to the four winds to not be associated. (K maybe not but the point remains)
Can't be all bad.
Rep Vic Snyder from Arkansas has already stated he is not running again.
One down – forty nine to go.
Bill, I read an article, but I can’t remember where, that discussed how a group had got a measure on the ballot in Virginia to change the state Constitution to allow the recall of a senator before the end of there term, and it passed. Apparently, a Tea Party group got the required petitions signed to place the recall of one of their senators on the November ballot, but the Secretary of state, which is a Democrat, will not sign the petition. Last thing I heard, it was going to the Supreme Court for validation. Can you find out what is going on? Also, I might be mistaken, it sould be Vermont.
Taking back congress with self described neoconservatives will solve nothing. They do not oppose the welfare or warfare state but accept it. They believe in a big, powerful federal government, that not only takes care of the United States, but takes care of the world. The Reagan, Bush, Gingrich eras did not shrink the size of the government or reign in spending. All talk, but no walk.
The continued bankruptcy of the federal government and the destruction of the dollar is bringing change. It will render the United States government insignificant.
Yours Truly,
Knox
I have been very concerned about that myself. Obama wouldn't be so complacent if he didn't have something up his sleeve.
I agree. And another thing that concerns me…..Sarah Palin, speaker at the TeaParty Convention, supporting the RHINO MC CAIN! Here is a perfect example of a "leader" going off the reservation. She certainly doesn't speak for me anymore. And what about all this political correctness concerning the use of the word, retarded? It was certainly inappropriate but becoming part of the 'word police' is acting exactly like they do. Ignore it!!! Decent people understand and reject the Emanuels of the world, we don't need to become like they are to defeat them.
Primaries First then support the most fiscally & constitutionally conservative (R or D). Rinse, Repeat.
We got ANSWERS a new Process that can work, I do not know why people do not join GOOOH, the only thing I can figure is ego is more important then Sovereignty.
