The Tea Party movement has been quiet since the September 12 massive rallies in Washington, Quincy, Dallas, and elsewhere. Paul Krugman was so bold as to write on October 26, “the tea baggers have come and gone.” On the same day, CBS News blogger Charles Cooper asked rhetorically, “Did the Tea Partiers Party Too Soon?” The message from the White House talking points memo was clear: that annoying fit of folksy patriotic crap is over, and we in the political class can get back to the business of tyranny.
Shifting Forms
While the Washington literati sipped Fair Trade coffee, the Tea Partiers shifted form, as they have many times before. In February, it was the angry mob telling government, “no more bailouts.” Government continued bailing out its favored corporate lackeys, and the angry mob morphed into a massive movement with 1.2 million people protesting government growth on Tax Day.
With quiet parties on July 4, the Tea Party’s Divisions split into Companies or Platoons and deployed into Congressional Town Halls. Beginning with
Missouri Congressman Russ Carnahan’s embarrassingly funny gaff-fest on July 21, the Tea Party folks weathered the SEIU thugs’ fists, the
White House’s violent rhetoric, and Nancy Pelosi’s base taunts. With Gadsen flags and chattering teeth, they stormed Congressional Offices in August and delayed the Washington healthcare takeover by at least 3 months. But the morphing continued.
On September 1, Tea Party Nation struck back against a hard left boycott of Whole Foods Market. Instead of signs, megaphones, and chants, this protest was a “buy-cott.” In dozens of cities, Tea Partiers lined up to shop at Whole Foods, confounding the left, overwhelming the boycott, and gaining press from the like of Jon Stewart’s “The Daily Show.” The left was flustered.
Ready to Rumble
While Krugman and CBS continue to look for the Tea Party marching over the hill, the partiers have hunkered down for the indoor season. With the fury of Feburary 27, the numbers of Tax Days, and the passion of 9/12, this conservative grassroots army is focused on upstate New York and the race between a Conservative Party candidate, Doug Hoffman and his two left-wing rivals.
This battle pits the people of the Tea Party against both major parties in a fight for the nation’s future. The Republicans have pulled out all the stops for far-left candidate Dede Scozzafava who was selected by 11 GOPers in a pizza parlor to fill Republican John McHugh’s unexpired term. (McHugh accepted the President’s offer to serve as Secretary of the Army.) Newt Gingrich has thrown in with Scozzafava, along with the RNC and the National Republican Congressional Committee.
But the Tea Partiers are not alone this time. Sarah Palin, Fred Thompson, Rick Santorum, Dick Armey, Tim Pawlenty, Rick Perry and a host of nationally prominent Republicans have endorsed Hoffman. A growing wave of Republican office holders are jumping on the Hoffman bandwagon. Others, like Russ Carnahan’s likely Republican opponent, Ed Martin Jr., have directly challenged their own party leaders for their lapse in judgement in selecting a candidate who’s won the support of Planned Parenthood, the NEA, Daily Kos, and ACORN.
Tea Party Unity
Before the polls open in upper New York on Tuesday morning, thousands of Tea Partiers from states as far away as California will have had an impact on what might otherwise have been an unnoticed special election. Local Tea Party Organizers across the country are overwhelmed by their people’s desire to help. Hoffman’s offices are overwhelmed with volunteers who are just showing up. (Anyone wishing to help from their own home can go
here.)
On Tuesday evening, another rogue candidate for Congress, this one from Colorado, spoke to a 9-12 Project leader whose working tireless on the ground in his home district in New York.
“Can you get someone to the airport to pick me up?” asked the man from Colorado.
“I guess. Why?”
“I’m coming in to do whatever you need.”
100,000 Calls
That one Colorado man epitomizes the thousands of Tea Party and 9-12 Project activists who have demanded action to support Doug Hoffman and other “rogue” candidates. They demand that more qualified, strong candidates emerge from the movement, and fewer “getalong” RINOs from the Republican Party.
Those patriots will soon conduct perhaps the strongest get-out-the-vote campaign ever targeted on a single Congressional election. Imagine a thousand people from a dozen states calling “friends” in a single Congressional district a continent away to say, “we love our country; we know you do too; please vote for Doug Hoffman for us; we’ll return the favor for you as soon as we possibly can.”
It’s as if God has given Tea Partiers the lever that controls the course of the sun. If they all pull together, they make it Morning in America.
From the ice and snow of the first gatherings last February, to the tidal wave of electoral assistance this week, that “whatever you need” attitude identifies this movement and its members. And that “whatever it takes” attitude is why Krugman and the White House are so eager for the Tea Party to just come and go.

This article makes me even more proud to be an American. Even though I am pretty sure that Obama will send in Acorn to get all of his people "elected", I like to think that Obamacare, Afganistan and Acorn are the perfect storm that has produced the impetus needed to wake the Patriots of America up. We may lose any of these battles, but our goal is to win the war.
"Whatever it takes."
The Tea Party might come, but we aren't going to go. The Intelligencia, the Illuminati have sneered at US for one last time. It is time for THEM, to go. We are real, we are organized and we are pissed. WE, are their worst nightmare come true.
This is no longer your Father's Republican Party.
Thank God for that!
That is what has gotten US to this point, complacency.

Like the Liberals who never go away, the Tea Parties won't go away either.
I really hope you are right and that the republican leadership has gotten the message that we demand they act like conservatives. I fear that they believe this whole thing is just about going after liberals and feel they are safe. With Newt, and others, endorsing the moderate republican in NY rather than the conservative (Hoffman) just to get a republican in office makes me think they don't get it.
Time for some real push back against the socialists. When the choice is between life and death, liberty or freedom, capitalism or socialism, there is no compromise. You either win or you lose. And I don't want to lose. I actually LIKE the country I grew up in. It's a pretty f'ing awesome place to be. Beats the living hell out of any other place in the world I've visited. No other place has the opportunities we have here so I'm willing to oppose even the nicest of people who want to 'moderate' the agenda of the WH, Pelosi and Reid.
Reid is gonna go down next Nov. Pelosi is gonna become the Minority Leader (which will likely end her rule entirely since her party will have to go back to something more akin to sanity). And Obama is gonna have to stand on the brakes for his wildly radical agenda.
If the MSM thinks that NY-23 is a wake up call, they are still sleeping. Wait until a bunch of well-known names start looking very, very vulnerable from the list of current incumbents – and that includes members of the GOP.
I propose every State Tea Party Organization take out ads in their local papers for the following:
JOB POSTING
The Citizens of the United States are looking to support candidate(s) in the 2010 and 2012 elections that have PROVEN work history (preferably a lengthy successful business history) has an understanding of basis economics and budget issues, can read Legislative Bills PRIOR to voting, has ethics, possess demonstrated Executive decision making abilities and BELIEVES and understands the Constitution of the United States.
The Chosen Candidate(s) will sign a pledge of what his/her plans are on Identified Issues and will be terminated immediately if any of the plans are changed without a vote of approval from the American people.
Candidates with little business work history need not apply.
Interested Candidates should send their resumes to their state Tea Party organization. Selected Candidates will appear on a voter ballot and only voters who have two form of ID will be allowed to vote (wouldn’t this be great!).
EEOC
ARE YOU LISTENING WASHINGTON and big Media ?
I've finally experienced Chris Mathew's "chill running down his leg" moment…..just reading this article. I'm so proud to be an American. These folksy patriots are just getting started!!
This is a march to the sound of the guns moment . Organizing for a Communist America has woke up the American people . Never in their darkest nightmares did they see the "Army of Davids" mobilizing . Never did they think that common everyday people can generate call lists and precinct walking maps .
This weekend will be the first flex of political muscle the Lefties will see , but there will be more .

"Drain the Swamp!"
We have sworn to 'support and defend' the Constitution of the United States – against all enemies foreign or domestic … When we have either idiots or traitors leading us down a path to fascism it is about time to 'drain the swamp' which is "inside" the Washington beltway.
Term limits, removal of the ruling elite, or political class needs to be a priority … "Say what you mean, mean what you say, and defend what you believe." Vote them out, no more D or R's, but citizens who go, as our Representatives to Washington, serve us well, and then return to their families, jobs, and communities – having served with honor to us and with us, all in the short term they are there 'in the swamp."
Not Politicians, who vote themselves perks which none of the rest of us receive – nor do not listen to their consitutents who voted them in.
Hoffman, perhaps more than any other "is just one of us." Want balance? Perhaps 1/3 of the political group going to the swamp needs to be an (I) …. that should make the political class (all of them) work harder for us.
Typical monotone for the NYT Klugman…merely to supplant the notion that the "Tea Partiers" have seen their best days. Unfortunately for the NYT his statement falls on very deaf ears. These "social justicers" have no clue what is about to hit them in the mid-terms. And unlike Liberals, we are not easily baited….especially by a worn out rag like the (now insolvent) NYT.
I will be giving area philosophical body bags next November when their corrupt and collectives asses are tossed into the street with the air freshened instead of the stench from these seditious scumbags.
Great recap of the movement. I love the lever/sun/morning in America metaphor. Very inspiring. We need to stay focused and keep marching forward!
Isn't it great!
Makes one feel alive again.
Tea partiers are alive and well and increasing in numbers, whether the liberal press reports it or not. People are growing more and more frustrated by a government bent on destroying our great nation. It's still the people that makes this country what it is, good or bad. We still have a voice…USE IT!!! Tell everyone you can to get out and vote in all of the upcoming elections and let these so called "representatives" know that we are sick and tired of thier crap and they are now unemployed. BE SILENT AND BE SILENCED FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The best thing for the Republican party is to lose this election. If Dede had won, they would have continued to move toward being the big government lite. This race should be a wake up call for 2010. Conservatives won't support RINO'S.
The Grand Ole Party will soon be known as the TEA Party. The conservatives are finally in motion and taking over. We are not going away! Let them think we are. That will only benefit the American people. They don't understand what they are now dealing with. There is too much at stake. Our soldiers' and our children and our grandchildren are depending on us to do the right thing. We will not stand by and let America vanish!
The Tea Partiers have not gone away. They are connecting on the internet, volunteering for candidates, becoming involved in the election process, educating themselves, and getting ready for the fight of their lives. Most of us have not been active before, but we are committed now. We believe the future of this great country is being destroyed and it will be the people who stop it. We believe it is possible to have a government that is not corrupt, and we intend to see that happen. We will stake our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor to see America remain as the great nation it is. God help us.
As proud members of the The Tea Party Movement, we have been working on a specific electoral goal, taking control of the House away from the Democrats. We are focused on 80-90 suburban/rural seats in the North and East. Our position is that the Republican Party has not been able to win in these districts, so we advocate recruiting conservatives to run and win as Independents. We need to take 40 seats from Nancy, the Republicans may pick up 10-20 from Blue Dog Democrats. We are targeting Democrats (& 8 RINOs) to the left of the Blue Dogs in districts that are more conservative than their current representative. http://www.firefifty.com/phpwiki/index.php
I'm not counting on the national R party apparatus and most of it's state affiliates 'getting it', any time soon.
That matters not. This coalescence of normal people, just needs to keep their eye on the ball and keep doing what they're doing.
The best way to counter the day to day antics of the opposition's ground game, is with continued strength in numbers,on the ground as well. We have the advantage of being able to think and act, without marching orders, scripts, and payment from the redshirt's home office. They of course, in union fashion, will not.
On election days themselves. Poll Watchers, Poll Judges, and transportation folks become critically important. These are excellent opportunities to volunteer for.
Any of us with ties to NY 23 need to help as we can. Phone calls matter.
I got a call, mentioning the Dems were soliciting for a rally in Syracuse. That's not in NY 23, but adjacent to it. The Central city does have an airport and more TV cameras though
We've had some success, but let's not spend too much celebrating. Pelosi is about to pass 1900 pages of unconstitutional law that will confound all our lives. She must be stopped.
Further, we have a weakness in recruitment. We must adopt education reform as a key objective of our movement. Every year universities indoctrinate more children to the empty lies of Liberalism. We must alter the standard curriculum to teach that there are fundamental truths about mankind everywhere. That we are all created equally, and do our best for our fellow man when not hindered by the edicts and confiscations of the state. Multiculturism must be shown to be incorrect, and all forms of socialism a tool for men who seek control.
Goodrichard ,
My friend we are not celebrating , we are engaging .

The help that Doug Hoffman is receiving is not from sunshine patriots, nor summer soldiers. We are standing up for this country, whether it be in NY or in DC. Back in the Revolution, soldiers marched and fought. Today, we travel, write, call, give and assist. We shall continue to do so until the enemy is on his face, with our knee on his neck and gasping for breath through a bloodied, tooth-rattled mouth—it is only then will we discuss moderation…it is only then will we discuss compromise, and those shall be on our terms.
Excellent idea!!
Everyone – go to http://breakitapart.ning.com. This site is for patriots. We each take at least one page of the bill and sum it up online.
I was in DC on 9/12 and will return with friends. Since I don't know anyone in NY I do my effort by calling and emailing my representatives and donate to campaigns across the country. Bachmann has raised over $375,000 from patriots alone.
I'm proud of the TEA party movement. We have not disbanded, in fact we are growing!! DC will once again be surprised when we return with greater numbers. Power to the People!!
Also send a copy to your current Senators and Representative to let them know we are coming and we're not kidding when we say VOTE THEM ALL OUT, ALL OF THEM.
Shades of November 2010! I am jazzed.
The last two versus of God Bless the USA says it all for me.
"And I’m proud to be and American,
where at least I know I’m free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.
And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA. "
Contact your representative and inform him/her as their empoyer what you expect them to do regarding the healthcare bill. I have informed mine that I am requiring him to ACTIVELY work against passage of the bill, not just vote against it. He has been informed that this action is REQUIRED for him to continue his employment as my representative. We the People are coming and the air will fill with the screams of those dieing a slow political death.
Love this idea! I am copying this and taking it to AS A MOM website and challenge other mom's to use this. We are currently trying to figure out proactive things we can do and this is a great idea!
Contact your local 912 or Tea Party leaders , have them reach the under ground . This is a GOTV effort that has never happened in our history . The wheels are in motion and the line has been drawn . Seek and you shall find .

Lorben, post the link to your blog or page when you're finished and I'll sign up too.
Doesn't Glenn Beck have a higher circulation with his email newsletter than the NYT?
I love you guys!!
That would be a liberal Republican they are endorsing.
Perhaps Hannity will do us all a favor and invite Doug Hoffman on his show. Perhaps he can also get Sarah Palin to join them in speaking out for conservatism and how the GOP is sorely mistaken to think it can prevail without the conservatives. Conservatism fresh from exile IMO.
I am 73, and have often felt joy over the fact that my father, a Colonel in the U.S. Army and a life-long reservist, didn't live to see the sorry state of affairs we are now in. However, I, myself, would like to live a little longer just to see if regular patriotic Americans can pull us out. The Silent Majority is definitely waking up, and altho' most Congress Critters would love to ignore our pleas (as evidenced by the Town Hall meetings), they ARE basically cowards when it gets down to the nitty-gritty. If we are to survive as the Land of the Free, I see no other way than thru' the grass-roots efforts of the people themselves….. Yes, I would love to live long enough to see America restored to what it was constructed to be…. land of the free and home of the brave!
the link does not work
Hannity had Hoffman on last week or earlier this week.
Very encouraging stuff!
Once the election is over, I'd like to see a piece shedding light on all national GOPers that supported the leftist Republican. I'm very disappointed in Newt and the others. We really need to reward those who have placed principle ahead of party.
Sadly, you are correct.
He [Obama] may well send in his ACORN folks and they could have a serious impact.
However, there simply are more of us than there are of them our issue is that we've not gotten down the organizing and motivation part of making an impact.
A majority of those involved in Tea Parties, 9.12, etc… are new to this.
We can win this.
We can take our nation back, but we have to pick up speed, time is short.
I haven't decided if the progressives are terrified, as they should be, and are trying to act brave and bluff their way through (think, pretending the health care bill was a "done deal" when it wasn't); OR if they truly are clueless about the pendulum that is hanging over their heads. (Thought I'd get in a bit of Poe, since it's the season…)

You know what, I work damn hard for my money, and I’m sick of these lowlifes taking more and more away. Seriously, we the PEOPLE own this country, and we select who runs it, all the while we bust our ass to make it work. Enough of this nonsense. They continue to NOT hear us, and ignore our cries of stop the maddness and spending. Well, BOH and his minions HAVE woken up the sleeping giant, yeah us the hard working families and indivduals. Enough is Enough.
Vote out all these bums in office. Like someone said, you start with one dent in the armor, until 600 dents makes the whole elite house of cards fall. All these government entites and departments need to vanish. We need a smaller governmnet, and with that, freedom, innovation and a better life for all.
We will prevail…..it’s just going to take a few years to get everything back to a solid foundation.
We will help other states, as you will help ours. It’s the only way. We need, err..HAVE to be involved from here on out. We are writing history as we speak.
what ever does happen it really needs to work out for the best or i believe that this worlf will b f***ed in the ass
wishful thinking lefty we are the country we outnumber you 10 to 1 and we are here to stay
I don't know if they're just playing dumb, or truly don't realize they have awakened We The People.
Amen!!
They aren't playing dumb. I've heard of Sleepless in Seattle, but thses clowns are Clueless in DC. I have never seen anything so pathetic, with so many out of touch people. It is almost humorous; Pelosil, Reid, Dodd, Franks, Waters et al are toepedoing their boy Barrack. By the time they are done with him, he will be as emasculated and as ineffectual as the last liberal bation of hope, Jimmah Carter.
Newt is now and has been for a decade or so, NOT a conservative at all. He's for Newt and nothing more.
He was a great back bencher, but was unable to be a powerful leader when the time came. Bill and Hillary had him strapping on Clintoooon knee pads, way back when and he's never taken them off. Hell, Pelosi even had him as her lap dog, in STUPID "global warming" ads last summer.
Newt and Bill Clinton are two heads of the same coin, with Newt being slightly worse. He has little control of his ego and temper.
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: ( Krugman, Letterman, Pelosi, Maher, Dean, Olbermann, Axelrod, et al . . .
If you only knew what lies ahead for all of you and your progressive un-American socialist crap that you’re trying to impose on this country. You disgusting useless sniveling crybabies who lack any of the positive attributes that gave rise to United States of America.
I am a proud Tea Bagger. Does that just crack you up Bill Maher ? Does your perverted visual definition of the term “tea bagger” have you in stitches Keith Olbermann ? I can’t wait to see your faces after the 2010 and then 2012 election.
My wife and I are just typical conservative Americans. Worked all our lives, payed our taxes, each had three kids in prior marriages . . . been through good and hard times. But we don’t give up. Never protested any time in our lives until Apr. 15th at our state capital when we self consciously carried home made signs. On July 4th protests we had all grown in determination. By Sept. 12th we felt it was our duty to travel 2,700 miles to Wash DC to join others from across the U.S. in our cause. You think we’re all going to lay down now?
And this is why we're gonna win.

That's but part of the problem. Parents need to educate their children, every single day. You must be vigilant, you must read your children's text books and tell them the facts.correct errors, and you must not stop, even when your child/children reach adulthood.

Ditto times infinity
Hoffman has already been on with Sean.
Where've you been?
Newtie went off to the DARK SIDE many years ago.
When the likes of D'Amato and Pataki are now backing Hoffman and Newt isn't, that's enough you need to know.
They're clueless !
Not only are they clueless, they are stupidly so. They got Barry elected, so they are feeling their oats and ignoring the reality of a very angry American populace.
The reason that Obama and his ilk won, is because the average American went to sleep.
Okay, that's a bit simplistic, but it's true. I saw this coming back in the late 1960s, when it should have been nipped in the bud. Where were the parents of the idiot hippies and wannabes, slapping them down and telling their kids that MARXISM/COMMUNISM stinks?
We all need to be as tenacious as the old Commies ( Frank Marshall Davis, Vernon Jarrett, all of the damned SDSers, Weathermen, etc. ) were and as patient.
Fight back, teach your kids, speak up, educate your friends, family, and neighbors, vote, and make sure that you get others to vote ! GET INVOLVED !
I don't think "Rogue" is the appropriate term for these brave souls.
This movement is a Crusade, and they are the Crusaders.
Then Crusaders we shall be
You go NY 23. Can't wait until 2010 when we go after Harry Reid here in Nevada. The movement is already smoking and gaining traction, and will be on fire come next year! He won't know what hit him.
I will have to look into that further…but my guess is you are probaby right….
Remember, Gingrich divorced his wife while she was undergoing chemo and married a 20something intern, all the while screaming for Clinton's impeachment. This man has no idea what is good for anybody. He is a member of the RINO machine and and will be dealt with in time. The conservative movement is a train that will not stop until we get every incumbent and lefty freak out of office.
Pinchy Sulzberger should have been more pinchy with the pennies.
Gone? Not quite. Yes I'm not at a protest, but I'm in the NY 21st (I have Paul Tonko, Obama stooge, for a "representative") and I just sent $100 to Doug Hoffman's campaign. And I've been calling every GOP outfit and Dede's campaign to make it clear I'm still here and working to reverse this tax and spend socialist administration and their accomplices in Congress.
If anyone has the ear of any talk radio hosts…. I wish they would stop the petty bickering and join in on just this one thing. A ten or even twenty million man march on Washington! I applaud Glenn Beck for his help in getting the word out last time, but many times that would have shown if ALL of us had been notified and on the same page.
Nov. 2, Houston, TX. In spite of the time change, we will gather for change. This country is the greatest in the world (someone should tell Obama) and we will not go quietly!!
Tired of Ds & Rs, try Gs: http://www.goooh.com
I am almost 71 years old. So is my wife. We are both former journalists with degrees from one of the nation's top journalism schools. (Journalism used to be a noble profession). We cannot abide what Barack Obama and his socialistic Kool-Aid drinkers are doing to our great country. Let the Revolution of protests, words, debates begin. If we Teabaggers are not heard and are paid no attention to, let us all refuse to pay any income taxes until changes are made. They can't and won't put us all in jail. So be ready. When next April comes, do your taxes, write a check for what you owe, then transfer that amount to a safety deposit box or some other safe location where it won't get spent. When we have our country back and all these socialists and communists and would-be Nazis are out of office, we'll pay our taxes, including back taxes. We are in a fight. Fight not to lose.
I'm praying for the day to come that Hoffman takes his place in Congress, and can finally make the changes we all agree should be made.
For me, it's doing away with abortion. That is my number one priority! A close second would probably be getting some religious values back in school, because we're raising a generation of heathens and fags.
Fiscally, I would like his first order of business to be rolling back the decades of government taxation that are breaking our backs. I eagerly await a flat tax.
Another thing with Hoffman being brought in as the first real conservative in the new war on the RINOS, will be laughing my ass off at the fags, liberals, and RINOS who are going to be left wondering what just happened to them. The union punks are going to be in trouble, and the homos will be put back in the closet where they belong.
Great article. My eyes teared up when I read "It’s as if God has given Tea Partiers the lever that controls the course of the sun." How right you are. You know, I don't think Hoffman will be a great strength in Congress if he wins this election, not yet, not this year. But I would rather have a greenhorn with conservative values and some guts than a DIABLO that is fronting for the Dems.
Add, "Veterans are encouraged to reply."
Hoffman appears to be weak in an area that's more fundamental than taxes and spending:
http://24ahead.com/doug-hoffman-might-be-weak-imm...
He hasn't responded to my email and twitter requests for more information, so if anyone's in the area go to one of his appearances and ask him to clarify his position.
Guesst,
I am active in my church, but I will oppose teaching religious values in school- I don't want government run schools usurping my parental authority to teach my children MY values, not yours.
JeanE
Patriots – while you are helping Hoffman in NY-23, FIND OUT WHO IS ON THE REPUBLICAN CENTRAL COMMITTEE in NY-23. It is ONLY with their help the RNC puts candidates on a ballot. You MUST find out how to gain control of the Central Committe in EACH precinct to change the Republican Party. Dems have Central Committees too, but OBAMA and SOROS pre-empted them, just like we are going to do with the Repbulicans.
JeanE, I am active in my church too, especially in the proLIFE movement. We need those values in school. There will probably be a way to "Opt Out" if you choose not to have your kids participate.
Fortunately, Doug Hoffman on the right track to making this a reality. Finally someone who helps us see the light at the end of the tunnel, not to mention taking a hard stance on defunding education entirely. We're going to give locals control of their schools, and make them pay the bills themselves. Why should we be paying for free lunches for kids 2000 miles away?
None of this would be possible without the TeaParty brigade lighting a fire under conservatives.
Well you hang on then Robin, Because WE ARE AMERICANS, this is what WE DO!!! FIGHT The Good Fight Forever. We Will Not Back Down Or BE Silenced!!!!! This is our beloved Country and We Will Lay Down Our Lives To Keep It FREE and Old Glory Flying High. Call US Proud!!!!! Call US Stubborn!!!!! Call US Americans!!!!
Stand Strong For OUR CONSTITUTION!!!!! Vote Them All OUT!!!!!! We Must Take BACK DC
nrobin- God bless you! My mother and step-father are right around your age. Although both are from Massachusetts, my mom was never a liberal. My step-dad however was a different story. All full of squishy, why can't we all just get along, and give BHO a chance talk it made blood shoot out of my eyes.
A few months ago, right after my step dad had knee replacement surgery and was laid up, I called him and asked him just to watch 3 days of Glenn Beck's show. Even if he had to TIVO it and watch it after the fact. Well, not only did he comply, but now they watch Glenn "live" every night while they eat dinner. And every night, after I get home (usually after 6) and watch Glenn's show, I call my mom and we talk about the show. Since I listen to talk radio all day at work, and surf the web for the very latest political news, I am generally able to "fill in the gaps" for her of things she may not know about.
My point is – don't give up! Americans never give up. She may be down on the carpet, lights nearly out, damn near looking dead and the next thing you know, from out of the ether, she will rear that beautiful face of freedom and rise to conquer all her ills. Hang in there. The Calvary is coming. Americans, real Americans, will take back their country, without a single shot fired.
And, if you need further inspiration, watch the John Adams mini-series. It is available at it's cheapest on Amazon.com. It will renew your spirit.
NY 23rd is just the start. It shows that individuals still have the power to take our country back from those who like to play power games and impose their ideas on Americans with other people's money. It's time to push back in the 2010 primaries and elections – and then stay organized already for 2012.

Watch for news out of Tea Party Nation about next steps in 2010. We're just not wasting our time chasing after the liberal media for a little attention any longer. It doesn't matter if they ignore or scorn us. We're in this to win.

Yes PeeLousy must be stopped. Finally we are coming together and most seem to be ready to do battle. It will take a battle to throw out the entrenched elites so we need to really watch the vote counters so no shenanigans take place.
And we need to encourage conservative candidates who can and will run.
Newt merely shot himself in the foot when he endorsed that RINO. Newt shot himself in the face when he vehemently defended his position while at the same time talking trash about conservative values AND announcing he might seek the RINO nomination in 2012.
At least Romney and Huckabee (neither my very favorite) had the political awareness to remain silent. Not that their silence will sit well with true conservatives, but they can "explain" that away later, and in the meantime, they did not piss off THE GRAND OLD PARTY! Call it – middle of the road. And, that is actually to the right of our last "conservative" presidential candidate – John, please retire, McCain.
If only we could translate the conservative resurgence into a constitutional convention and pass Ron Burnett's Bill of Federalism, we will have won for all time. It includes, among other things, a provision for term limits. Such a provision would accomplish everything campaign finance laws have attempted. By removing the profitability of holding the office, one removes the incentive to spend obscene sums to obtain it. By limiting the officeholder's time in office, the opportunity and temptation for corruption don't have time to capture the officeholder's soul. Men and women will seek office out of the need to fulfill civic duty. The obsession for ever greater government control over our lives will fade to a manageable proportion. The balance of power will have been restored to the citizenry. Our greatest years still lie in front of us and it can happen!
Doug Hoffman epitimizes what the Tea Party is about…people who are fed up with politics as usual, and are actively working for what they believe in. As a low paid restaurant manager, I can neither take time off from work, nor can I financially contribute…but I can contribute my words and thoughts, as well as my VOTE!
John Sarbanes (D MD3), you should have held Town Hall meetings with your constituents this summer. That you didn't only denotes your weakness!

"It’s as if God has given Tea Partiers the lever that controls the course of the sun. If they all pull together, they make it Morning in America."
Great line, thanks for the encouragement!
I totally agree. I have "picked myself up from my bootstraps" and without the benefit of a college education have worked and learned and worked some more to get to the point where I am today. Through my own blood, sweat and tears. No one gave me a handout, I have never taken a government handout, and thank God, have only had to collect unemployment once – for about three weeks.
The one time, over 20 years ago, when I went to the state for "assistance", it was only because I was not getting my child support and the state would not make my case a priority unless I was receiving assistance. Please understand that by "priority", I mean that the case-workers were so overloaded that they could not even give the time deserving to the cases that were receiving support from the state.
But alas, because I was actually working 40 hours a week for minimum wage, and not staying at home making more babies, I did not qualify. I was 27 years old with a 6 year old son (by marriage, I might add). I ended up moving back home with my parents, working two jobs until I could afford to raise my son without any assistance from his father or the state. Nothing drives my crazier than "welfare moms".
I too am sick and tired of lazy, non-motivated, the world owes me, people sucking my dry. I have no problem paying taxes for roads, firemen, policemen, national defense, and MAYBE teachers. Anything else, I say, NO BLEEPING WAY. I AM DONE. Take your tax for entitlement programs and shove it where the sun does not shine. If I can claw my way out of the abyss, then so can everyone else – at least in this country they can.
I refuse to be shamed into thinking that I owe someone else less "fortunate" a free lunch. I never got a free lunch. In my time of need, my family was there for support and babysitting services. They babysat for the evening shift, when I was working my second job. That's it. That is all the help I ever received. Get a life and get over it. The taxpayer owes you nothing.
Randy, they don't hear you yet. And, yes, they think you and I are going to lay down and spread our legs. Sorry for them, but I at least like to get kissed first!
Nicely written, Bill Hennessy.
Go Doug, go!
Go SARAH, go!

that gave me goose bumps! the conservative movement is probably the most inclusive of the, let's say three political forces, the left, the wimpy moderate Repubs, and then the rest of us. we all benefit from limited federal government.
This is so great. We've taken the neighborhood to the Nation.
