Wisconsin Recount Over, Results Unchanged

The controversial and expensive recount in the Wisconsin Supreme Court election is complete. As expected, the results of the race remain the same, with incumbent Supreme Court Justice David Prosser defeating his liberal challenger.
By more than 7,000 votes.
Assistant Attorney General Joanne Kloppenburg requested the recount even though the margin in the race exceeded the margins in all the statewide recounts in all the states in the last thirty years….combined.
She has five days to file a court challenge of the results.
Don’t expect her to go quietly.

I heard that the Dems and unions spent a fortune trying to get the Waukesha county votes discarded. That's the 14000 votes that were counted but not reported. That should win some friends in the electorate. I don't expect them to fold yet. They have too much to lose.

Maybe the unexpected increase in revenues will be enough to pay the costs of her challenge in the courts. When she loses they can start crying again.

I think that comment was unnecessary. Let's make sure we give Kloppenburg grief for the right reasons (there are plenty to choose from). Women who run for public office should be accorded a reasonable amount of respect, and their fitness for public office should not be judged based on their sex appeal. If she and Sarah Palin switched brains, I'd have to start enthusiastically supporting Kloppenburg and oppose Palin (who I am pretty sure would agree with me here).
I think that scarf she's always wearing is the only thing keeping her head from falling off.

They would need to change their laws. If the "win" is within a certain percentage of the overall vote, the recount is paid by the public. 7000+ votes is a huge margin, but because their were millions of votes cast, it fell within that margin.
It's unfortunate that it came to this, and Kloppenhaufer didn't "need" to do this to the taxpayers. But, it's just what pigressives do.
There should be thousands of uncommitted independent voters doing double facepalms right now.

This is good news, but the big story here is that the bill has been passed requiring state issued photo ID when voting. You should hear the lefties screamin' about it. They should start throwing around the race card anytime now.
For your amusement, here is a small list of things you have needed an ID for in Wisconsin, but up till now voting was not one of them:
Renting an Apartment (hell, just looking at an apartment)
Buying a home
Flying on a plane
Buying cold medicine
Writing a check
Going to the doctor
Getting any public aid
Registering your child for school
Getting a library card
Renting a car

I looked at my favorite left wing nutcase website, DU, to see what they thought of the results. Oddly, the most recent thread seemed to be on May 5. I found one thread related to a WI group asking for any info anyone had that could be used to challenge the election results in court, but that was on May 10 and had no comments in response to it. It looks like they are just going to crawl away and whimper. LOL.
On Edit; It is a few days later. I just discovered I can no longer use the search function at the DU website. All I get is a "error, you do not have permission…etc" Apparently they really do not like being embarressed and are now restricting their sites search function use to members only. And they really are careful about who they allow as members. LOL
I don't think Kloppenburg expected to win the recount. I think this was just a going through the motions to get to the lawsuit she planned to file to get the Brookfield votes thrown out.
BTW… does anyone else on this page see the ad Google served up from democraticgovernors.org whining about the 2000 election? I think that breaks the irony-meter.
now that they know Possner won will they allow the union law to go into effect? I don't think the judges can stall it longer than this election was stalled out.

I think this is a classbook example of what Republicans need to do in any election, hold back LEGIT votes until all of the liberal districts are in. Funny there were no calls for resignations in this election when two liberal districts did not turn their votes in until the next day, and Kburg won by 300 votes????
