Faulkner Offers Much-Needed Hope to New York
by Billy Hallowell“For the past 22 years, I have dedicated my life to serving my community as a New York City pastor and spiritual leader. I have counseled the suffering, married couples, helped the grieving, fed the hungry and have acted as a liaison between my community and the government.” – Michel Faulkner, NY Post
In Feb., Rev. Michel Faulkner officially entered the ring to compete in a Congressional race that is sure to draw national attention. This Nov., Faulkner is challenging Rep. Charles Rangel, a four-decade seat holder in the 15th Congressional district. Faulkner has a track record of success in truly uplifting the downtrodden. Unlike Rangel, if elected, Faulkner won’t champion self-centered earmarks, they’ll be no ethics violations and most importantly – no pandering to the establishment. Faulkner is the real deal and in a district with immense need.

What is perhaps most intriguing about Rev. Faulkner is his eclectic past. While on his intriguing journey from NFL football player to college dean to pastor to his current role — Congressional candidate — Faulkner has consistently worked to improve the lives of those in need. Unlike Rangel who is prone to ethics allegations, irrational earmarking and questionable conduct, Faulkner provides a fresh and untarnished aura. As a representative, his background and passion would surely meld to formulate viable and effective leadership. Unlike many politicians who enter the field for shear personal gain, Faulkner’s aspirations can be traced back to his intense faith and belief in the Almighty. He wants to place power back into the hands of the people.
His past experience includes serving in a pastoral capacity in a number of churches, working to help the economically disadvantaged, assisting those with HIV/AIDS, serving on various NYC tasks forces, and forming his own not-for-profit that focuses on leadership development. Faulkner’s resume shows him to be a genuine individual whose intense personal faith has bred a genuinely heartfelt duty to his fellow man.
Faulkner’s political platform is as robust and encouraging as his past works. Aside from his unwavering belief that government should truly be driven by the American people (a virtue that Congress and the Obama administration have clearly forgotten), Faulkner champions ideals that have traditionally benefitted the most valuable areas of our society.
Take, for instance, his views on small business. With massive government intervention and excessive spending, many fear the financial burdens that bigger government will lay on all Americans. Anyone who understands the nation’s fiscal compositions knows that those individuals who own small businesses are especially at risk. In a Feb. 2009 New York Post piece, Faulkner wrote:
“…we must recognize that nearly 80% of all jobs in America today are created by small businesses, and for that reason we need to reduce the red-tape and tax burden on these critical economic engines.”
In addition to his staunch support for small businesses, Faulkner also places a high value on education. He is an unabashedly exuberant supporter of charter school expansion, as he believes that an increase in charter schools would improve the overall quality of education. Faulkner also wrote that charter schools “…generally have outperformed public schools and stimulate a level of parental involvement unseen in the traditional public school environment.”
Countering the insane ideological deficiencies that lay behind Charlie Rangel’s pork-barrel antics (one example being Rangel’s own earmarking of $2 million in funds for the creation of “The Charles B. Rangel Center for Public Service” — also known as “The Monument to Me”), Faulkner believes that American politicians should be working to reduce wasteful spending. This is exactly the thought process that Congress needs to adopt. Rather than authorizing laws laden with 900 pork-barrel projects (i.e. Obama’s stimulus), our lawmakers should be prudent and calculated in how they spend the people’s money.
This is only a glimpse into the life of an intriguing individual – an ordinary man with the potential to make extraordinary change in one of the most Democratic districts in the nation. To get more information on Rev. Michel Faulkner or to donate, please visit his campaign site. Now is the time to come together, not only for sake of New York, but also for the future of America. Let’s take the House back — one district at a time.

Well well well. It seems we have a strong candidate of seemingly unblemished character. I wonder how the liberals will attempt to castigate this black man running against the ol timey Rangal? I'm sure they will "uncle tom" the bejeepers out of him.
This is the type of man that we will find coming out more and more to represent the people of this country. There are a myriad of candidates that have thrown their hat into the ring this coming fall that have similar core values and principles. We are on the verge of shifting the status quo to a true statesman mentality. Folks who would have never dreamed they would have entered the political arena, but realize now that there is such a need to shift this country into its original intent, they will out of desire to reestablish our founding commit to doing so. Folks without ego or looking for power and riches, but have the humility in spirit to serve their fellow man….true statesmen!
And yet we are aware of their tactics like never before…..kind of puts a new twist on things, eh?
I hope there are more out there like him and they follow his lead. He truly does lead by example.
But, but, but how will the LSM dare to smear/slime him? He is so clean, so articulate, so, so…………..
nevermind.
Best wishes & good luck to the Reverend, a real rev, not a pretend rev, like Al & Jessy. mm mm mm !
A sucker born every minute. That's White guilt for you. "Quick, rush to say approving things about a Black man!" Mark my words, you will be disappointed. I love how being a "Reverend" is supposed to carry some weight – yeah like the "Reverend" Jessie Jackson. Being a "Reverend" is a scam in the Black community – a way for them to pull confidence scams and avoid taxes. I remember a Black guy who loitered at my old apartment complex drinking beer in the stairwell and smoking cigarettes all day (in an otherwise nice all-White apartment complex.) Yeah, he too claimed to be a "Reverend." LOL!
You also confuse "earmarking" with "pork" like it seems nearly everyone else does. Earmarking is called accounting and is a responsible thing to do – what else would you have them to – just give money away for any use at all?
As long as they don't lose their proverbial/real souls in office.
Not meaning to sound pessimistic, I have just seen a lot of good people with good intentions go down the wrong road, sometimes willingly, sometimes by misdirection. It is becoming harder and harder to find people with the moral fortitude that was the bases on which this country was built.
More and more these REAL AMERICANS WITH REAL CONSTITUTIONAL VALUES are coming out of the woodwork. Where do we send the checks ?? As stated "one district at a time" and the old politico's won't have an IDea as to what smacked them in November ! Remove the (Rangel) trash and bring back the Republic.
Godspeed to you, Sir !
So not in the mood for your white supremacy bullshit today.
Ho hum. Another savior to the rescue. I don't believe it. He supports education the growth of small business, help for the poor and needy, blah, blah, blah. I just know I have heard that somewhere before. The other day I was obsessing about Obama and his despotic, smug attitude. Thank God that after twenty minutes, my ADD kicked in and I forgot what I was obsessing about. Maybe there was something in that flu shot, after all. Something about a preservative – if I could just remember. As far as Faulkner goes, gee, he sure is articulate.
Sounds like a good man. As a result he probably wont get elected.

I agree with you.
I am not in the mood either today for his idiotic nonsense.
Unfortunately, the moron does have a valid point. It has always amazed me the weight that "Reverend" has in the black community. It is like they all become Reverends, and get a liscense to steal. It is mind boggling.
I am wary of anyone in or running for office. I don't know this man. I will wait to learn more before making any judgement. Frankly, I would be happy if roadkill ran against Rangel because it wouldn't stink as much.
I would like to know why the Republicans are running a BLACK candidate there? Is it no acknowledgment that Blacks are racists and will only vote for a BLACK candidate? If so, will they only run White candidates in majority White districts? This is the unwritten "template."
Blacks will always choose to vote for Blacks – even encouraged to do so.
Whites are to be taken for granted and discouraged from voting only for Whites.

Faulkner is the actual pastor of a genuine church- unlike the faux-"Reverend" Al Sharpton.
I think every "Yeah, but" butthead that wants to foster their negativity needs to go through a serious attitude adjustment. The only way we will ever reclaim this country for future generations will be by taking on a positive, can-do vision of America, and then supporting every candidate that reflects that attitude.
Let's let the democrats own the negative character assaults and arrogance. Then let them respond to our confidence.
Thanks Mr. Hallowell, for such an uplifting post during Resurrection week. It is very inspiring to read about Men of GOD standing up to the encroaching evil in a way that Jesus teaches us to do, by relaying on the Spirit of GOD to emulate Him. After being depressed from Mr. Breitbarts article (well not so much depressed as thoughtful), I am encouraged to learn about some of the mighty warriors that the Lord is fielding. GOD Bless you Rev. Faulkner.
It is one of those where "Reverend" has give reverends a bad name but it works the same for all colors and religions, i.e. Rev. Jim Wallis or Rev. Jim Jones.
I have a feeling that I am going to sound like a complete atheist asshat but I'm not, an atheist that is. Humans have always looked for guidance. Religion provides a lot of that guidance but it is also very susceptible to those who are pushing their own agenda separate from their religious beliefs. They just use the religious faith of the people as a tool lead them their way.
Are you wearing your robe and hood while you write this crap?
Biggovernment.com — you vet these guys for November, let me do my due diligence and I'll personally make calls in their favor independently from Cali. Let's welcome them into the new establishment, one by one.
Rev. Michel Faulkner, you are in good hands.
Thanks Bohemond. I'm getting tired of the "angry conservatives" directing their disgust at potentially great candidates who stand a chance at replacing the truly vile politicians in office.I understand that we're all feeling a lot of cynicism these days, but we need to turn our attitudes around to reflect our confidence in America, and support the candidates that have the potential to help build that better future. Let's leave the cynicism in the dust bin of history, along with the democrats.
The only way to defeat the darkness is to shine a light, not to curse the darkness.
Except:
- half the White community doesn't go around calling itself "reverends"
- in the much more rare case of White reverends getting caught, the White community doesn't go on supporting them.
Nice try, but your knee-jerk moral equivalency is more offensive than the truth I speak.
No white guilt from the Republicans, the antislavery party, the party of Lincoln, party that died by the 100's of thousands to free the slaves, abolish slavery and pass the first civil rights act in 1875.
Democrats are the exclusive party of slave owners, former slave owners, lynchers, the KKK, and black sell outs like Jesse Jackson who called Obama a N**er, and said he would cut his nuts off. MLK and Medgar Evers were both Republicans who were killed by democrats.
Democrats like Rangel are tax cheats and liars.
.
This guy sounds great and Allen West in Florida is great too.
Well, I don't have to worry about being the asshat for my post, you solidly won that title.
This is honestly one of many answers to the prayers of nation in great peril.
Not much in a name. Democrats en masse seem to have become the anti-White party somewhere along the way. If the Republicans don't want to Represent Whites then it is time to vote for a 3rd party that will.
MLK was a communist (in addition to a plagiarist) and despite his flowery rhetoric was more driven by hatred of Whites than most know – it wasn't until Republicans started pandering to Blacks that they started losing.
Some things you didn't know about MICHAEL King…..like his support of quotas and set-asides for Blacks.
http://www.lewrockwell.com/orig/epstein9.html
Faulkner will be targeted as the "…way too 'Religious Right' to be involved in Congress…" guy, who will make everyone believe like he does evildoer…
God, I hate what the Prog Left does…
I'm an older and well-educated black man, therefore I'll be allowed to say the following: Best wishes to Mr. Faulkner if he is as he apprears right now. It will be interesting to see how the radical libs try to spin this if the Tea Party gets behind him. It is obvious after the BHO election that blacks tend to vote for blacks without so much as having a clue to understanding their pasts or platforms, and this should be interesting….maybe this will cause them to have to look into the issues at hand and the character of the candidates. I'm either loved or hated by my fellow blacks, no in between. I definitely see a much higher intelligence level with the conservative blacks and they aren't generally racists, criminals or troublemakers. The left blacks tend to be more uneducated and much more racist against whites. I wonder if anyone has ever taken a survey in the prison system to find out what I would guess to be a very high ratio of blacks proud to be radical leftists.
ALSO….. It's so sad because I'm old enough to remember how far our country had come before BHO was elected. He is truly trying to race-bait at every opportunity and it's quite obvious that he despises our country. I'm quite aware that it's NOT his color that has caused so many freedom-loving patriots to be against his evil aganda. However, it IS his color that causes the racist ignorants to follow him. Maybe someday he'll go back where he came from.
Would you PLEASE find a running tail-rotor somewhere to walk into…?
We're trying to save a Nation here, and YOU ARE NOT HELPING…!
You can start up your white supremacy BS after 2012, when we can spare the time to insult and berate you properly……
Nah, he's into lots of black, silver, white, and red…and brown shirts…
You aren't going to save it with the Republican Party. I know you want to believe that because it seems like an easy solution. What's that saying: fool me once, shame on me…..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKgPY1adc0A
East Germany is looking for new village idiots…you might want to catch a plane…
Not with the National GOP, that's for sure…send the checks to the candidates…
Therein lies the need for;^) term limits and an end to lobbying….that will help greatly.
Those that have that kind of attitude are the Democratic plants and agents provocateur that are trying to foment discontent amongst the REAL masses that are going to toss them out and aside, starting in November…
I mean…Randy…really…? I thought bigoted shitpickers/pilers like that died off when Grandma and Grandpa got too old to have sex with the kiddies…
And that Mikeyh zero guy is a complete simpleton…he likes it when the government holds his hand and wipes his ass…why would he even try to take the country back…? It might interfere with his World of Warcraft time…
Don't let people like that bother you…they complain no matter who is running the country…
Let me try to shed some light on your misconception. First "the Republicans' did not run and are not running me for office. I am a educated and proud American that decided (on my own with no promises) that my country that I need some new leadership. I did not ask Republicans for permission. I am a registered Republican that believes in the ideals and philosophical goals of the party. I have sought the nomination of the Republican party and as well as several others. I expect to have at least 4 balot lines by Nov.
Secondly I have been Black all my life. I will be Black for the rest of my life, I realize that some narrow minded people will judge me based on that alone I will feel sorry for them and move on. The Black community is not monolithic believe it or not we actually vote for people that are not black and other people vote for good candidates that are not black.
Finally NY 15th Congressional district is no longer a majority Black district. I have found that generally people in this district look beyond color before making a decision about voting.
Yeah, I know there are the democrat plants (vegetables?) and other such dickheads around. But I'm really not bothered by them that much.
What's bothering me is the genuine conservatives (Patriots) that have gotten so dispirited that they're becoming true cynics because of the rantings of the democrat dogs and cretins. We're better than that. And it's time we start to show that with better attitudes, better ideas, and a better world view.
We are the only hope that America has. Let's show them what real hope looks like. We're the ones who believe in America's greatness. Let's go forward with a better vision of the future, and let the demodogs continue to eat their own vomit.
My vision for America includes being:
The world leader in energy production
The world's leader in technology
The world's leader in manufacturing
The world's leader in wealth creation
The world's leader in exploration
And the best example of what a free people and a free society can accomplish.
And as for anyone who doesn't want these things, or doesn't believe that they are possible, I say go back to your comfortable cynicism and let the rest of us get to work to make it happen.
thank you for the oportunity to know of a good man running for the benefti of the free people. I will research and I will be willing to support a man of such great integrity. God bless him and his family
Go away, Fonz.
We have seen time and again Blacks voting for any Black face they see. Look at Marion Barry!
Отлично, пят ьс плюсом от меня.
Term limits yes, but infringing on the ability to petition the government takes away everyones liberty!
Welcome Mr Faulkner and we wish you success and victory in your pursuit of office sir!
The Conservative Edge
I prefer to judge a man by the content of his character as expressed by the actual accomplishments others can point to! No of those progressives currently in both parties have any positive accomplishments for the Constitution or the people. Go get elected Rev. Faulkner, Harlem will support you!
In just one review about this man we have more insight than what was gleaned from Barack Hussein Obama's background. From what I read he deserves both our respect and our support. Good luck to you sir in NY.
Hell, this country put people on the MOON, fer Chrissakes…!!
This is tic-tac-toe compared to that accomplishment…!
Just ask Statist Prog Libs what they think should be done…and immediately do the opposite…
Sure beats 'ol Barry's resume, don't it…??
Thank you, sir, for your honesty! The msm tries to make people believe that the Tea Party consists of only, racists white men, I have been to Tea Party's and I will tell you that there are people of every color there! They are the people who LOVE this country and LOVE their freedom…In MLK's words.." judge a man by his character NOT by the color of his skin"…that's the way I was raised also!
Randy only sees colors…his own…and everybody else's…and to him, the only world worth anything is only in his favorite color…
We keep him around as an abject lesson in what happens when idiocy is allowed free reign without the counterbalance of sanity…
Give Randy a prayer, Rev…only person that can help that imbecility is himself and God…and Randy is too far gone to help himself…
Rev. Faulkner sounds great and Rangel has to go.
Rev, you just do what you know is right…you don't need ANYONE'S approval to do good works…
Show those folks the way out…they've been exploited and abused ENOUGH…!
And don't bother with our trolls…they have way too much invested in the status quo with the Statist Prog Liberals, and have to try to stop the Red Sea being parted…and deliverance at hand…
Its Easter time…and its great to see a new Moses on the road…
Yeah. And now the progs have the people who put us on the moon studying CLIMATE CHANGE. How's that for "progress?"

Mr. Faulkner might be just what NYer's need…get rid of Charles "The Crook" Rangell. On a side note, we here in the third district of SC have a couple of good republican candidates, Jeff Duncan and Richard Cash. Both have conservative values, although I'm leaning towards Mr. Cash because he has written his values out and made some strong promises about term limits and PAC and lobbyist moneys. You can read about Richard Cash at sendrichardcash.com and Jeff Duncan at jeffduncan.com
Agreed, they will dig up something trivial or just make up something. The media lapdogs will slap it all over the place as gospel, w/ out fact checking. Well, we all know the rest, ssdd (same sh!t, different day).
You know something we should know? Because otherwise you're just speculating. I've been reading about this guy for several years – he seems real. Can we at least give him a chance before tearing him down? Not all Reverends are bad, in fact, most aren't. So, quit badmouthing him unless you have proof of wrong doing.
You're being a jerk.
Thank you, sir. Don't feel you need to answer Randy – he is what he is.
Good luck and I'll be sending a donation to help you send Rangel packing!

Thank you. Must be tough to be conservative and black – Star Parker says it can be! I am so sick of people who can't see beyond a person's skin color. Nice to be sharing the same air with you, watchful!

Sounds like a good man. I hope that not only does he get elected, but that there are more like him out there.
Nice thing about missions…you can change them…
Good Luck Mr. Faulkner….I wish you much success!!
You are something special. Have they always had computer access at the Psych Ward at Bellevue?
Shove it up your a**, Randy.
You can pick up your dignity at the door.
Amen!
No moron. WOuld I would like our government to do is to get their bleeping hand out of my pocket before I cut it off. You seem very racially charged calling this man a scam. You don't know him. We all know Al Sharpton is a fake as well as Jesse Jackson. This man was already a success & became a Rev. because of faith. I don't think you should even be speaking about this man in the slightest. I've seen your other posts liberal boy. You sure seem like a racist for someone who is supposed to be on the tolerent side of the line.
So, it is ok to support someone without knowing them but not to oppose them without knowing them?
Oh, and if you can't recognize the Blacks have voted to take that money from your pocket, you have your head in the sand. Who votes for people like William Jefferson, Hank Johnson and the rest of the "Congressional Black Caucus"? If Blacks could not vote, there would BE no Health Care Bill – plain and simple.
Idiot, blacks are 12.8% of the population as of 2008:
http://quickfacts.census.gov/qfd/states/00000.htm...
You need to take a good hard look at yourself. What is your real problem?
Faulkner doesn't have a chance. There is an entrenched spirit of failure in New York's 15th District, a spirit Charles Rengel has cultivated and profitted from. The folks up there are too afraid to leave the plantation because they never learned how to survive otherwise. In addition, Rengel's ethical and legal problems will only benefit him because he can just blame it on "whitey" trying to keep the black man down. That always sells well in the 'hood.
[...] » Faulkner Offers Much-Needed Hope to New York – Big Government [...]
we need term limits!!!!!!!
Yep! If a person knows they will have to go back to their real job they will not be as inclined to get their ego's to wrapped up the title of Senator or Representative….
Poor, pathetic lil randy. The clown was born stupid – and he's been losing ground ever since.
I'd feel a little pity for him, but he's obviously a "progressive" – so he pretty much deserves what he gets.
And do away with all those lifetime pensions and perks.
Nice halo, Reverend Faukner! Nice PR (even if its all true!) There was a similar writeup at American Thinker. You authors sure write like-sounding pieces when you're fed the same PR handout!
Does anyone commenting here (or authoring the article) actually know Faulkner? Is anyone here aware that nearly any Pastor or Reverend in Harlem would fit the above hagiography? Harlem pastors all have an office wall full of framed certificates for working with various "NYC task forces", the mayor, City Councilpersons, even New York State Representatives. They can all claim to be "working to help the economically disadvantaged, assisting those with HIV/AIDS, etc" since many of the folks who live in Harlem and attend their churches fit that description.
Faulkner looks great on paper. But do any of you understand what it might mean to do some actual "due diligence" research on a candidate?
How about this: I have seen Faulkner in action when visiting the church he pastored for many years. I am referring to Central Baptist, the church he left (or was he kicked out?) before forming his current church. On the multiple occasions I saw him in action as "The Pastor," including shaking his hand after the church service, he gave off a very strange vibe and it was not positive, loving, or Godly. My opinion. YMMV (your mileage may vary).
I was not a member of that church or associated with its governing bodies in any way, so I will try to be careful and fair in what I say. It may be the case that Faulkner left Central Baptist in much worse financial condition that he found it. It may be the case that he misused church funds to make unauthorized trips to Africa while he was associated with World Vision. A little resume-padding, Reverend?
I know someone who worked for Faulkner for years at Central Baptist. My friend was deeply unhappy in his highly responsible position at Central Baptist because Faulkner was an outrageous control freak. The not-so-funny joke was that staff needed permission to go to the bathroom. (Not my opinion — my friend's reports.)
Friends, Romans, fellow conservatives, I would like Faulkner to be the greatest thing since sliced bread, too. With his possible faults (no one is as good as their resume) and outright weirdness (there — I said it, to quote Mark Levin), he still may be better than Rangel.
But let's not be fooled again. We are all in danger of seeing what we want to see, rather than what is actually there. Plus, most of you commenting here actually know only what the author was spoon fed by the PR folks. Until you have more data/evidence, curb your enthusiasm, please.. YMMV (your mileage may vary).
Bad government regulation is bad, good government regulation is good . Fight for good government not less government. It's common sense not fear mongering.
