Holder Hearings Part Three: Impeachment Is Not Enough, Holder Needs to Be Handcuffed
by AWR HawkinsAs Attorney General Eric Holder testified before Congress yesterday, two things were reinforced. One: Holder has a problem telling the truth. Two: Congressmen Darrell Issa (R-CA), Jim Sensenbrenner (R-WI), and Ted Poe (R-TX), have a problem with people who have a problem telling the truth. And they have a point. As a matter of fact, as I watched the hearings unfold I continually thought to myself: “If Bill Clinton had obstructed justice to this degree, even Senator Trent Lott would have manned up and removed him from office.”
Said Poe:
To believe you weren’t aware of Fast and Furious requires, to coin a phrase, a willing suspension of disbelief. It is hard for me to believe you were unaware of this operation. [So] my question is very simple, who is the person in the U.S. government that made the decision in Operation Fast and Furious to send guns to Mexico?
Although such a straightforward question seems simple enough, Holder’s answer was “we don’t know yet.”
How can the A.G. not know who started an operation that resulted in the sale of 2,500 weapons to straw purchasers—some of which were paid for with U.S. taxpayer money, the passing of those weapons to criminals, the smuggling of those weapons across the border, the death of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry with at least two of those weapons, and the death of hundreds of Mexican citizens? (I bet Holder could tell you who authorized the raid on the Gibson Guitar factory with no problem.)
Anyway, Issa was relentless all day long. And during the late afternoon, he pressed Holder to release all the documents which had subpoenaed but not released. Holder gave a sloppy answer to this question: a combination of “yes” and “we’ll see.” In response to such non-clarity, Issa compared Holder to John Mitchell, Nixon’s Watergate A.G.
Holder replied by asking, “Have you no shame?” And Issa countered with, “Have YOU no shame?”
This is a teachable moment folks: Holder has grown so accustomed to the success of his own hypocrisy that he took offense to being called out on the carpet. He took offense to being compared to Mitchell when the truth is, Mitchell’s family should be offended that one of their own was compared to Holder.
At another point, when Holder defended his handling of the matter by saying the DOJ had provided an “unprecedented” amount of information to Congress already, Issa went into smackdown mode: “Unprecedented would be an attorney general who knew nothing about something where his own present chief of staff was intimately familiar.” (Issa’s comments were referencing Gary Grindler, Holder’s current chief of staff who, as an Acting Deputy Attorney General attended a briefing on Fast and Furious in March 2010.)
As for Sensenbrenner, he came across as a Congressman determined to get to the bottom of this mess. It was he who warned that Holder could face impeachment if he didn’t come clean.
With all respect to Sensenbrenner, I think we’re past impeachment. It’s jail time. Holder does not deserve to be in the society of free people.

Rep Issa and his committee must continue to hold Holder responsible for the misdeeds and illegal acts of the Justice Dept. Then they must root out the whole bunch under him who were involved and remove them, jail them and keep up the sweep as it goes into other depts. It is high time to show some guts and take this bunch down.
Here is hoping that they (Congress) finish the job.

This goes beyond incompetence to a blatant disregard for laws intended to constrain evil. He's poking his middle finger into our eyes, America. It's time we called these rodents in our White House what they are – Domestic enemies of the Constitution, truth, justice, liberty, and all that is good. If we truly love these things and desire the same for our posterity, something must be done other than simply witnessing the invasion and carnage.
It's time for Congress, our representatives to put a stop to it, now! If they don't, they're either incompetent, cowardice, or conspirators, and must be dealt with or shoved aside.
The question that I wish they had asked him was this:
"You testified in May that you had learned of this operation in the last couple of weeks. In your opening remarks today you stated that you had issued directives against this type of operation in February."
Those two statements are contradictory since you could not possibly have known enough to issue a directive in February relating to an action you claimed you knew nothing of until mid April. My simple question is this:
Which testimony was truthful? Your statement in May that you only learned of this operation in mid April or your testimony today that you knew of this operation in January to early February?
Basically would have made him admit he was lying at one time or the other.

Impeachment can happen. All you need is a majority of the votes in the House. However, a trial to convict in the Senate requires 2/3rds. It will not happen. The question however is, Holder is an appointed official. He was appointed by Obama and approved by a majority vote of the Senate. Impeachment has been used against Presidents and Judges. I don't know if it applies to Cabinet Officers that are not Constitutional offers. They were created by laws of Congress. I would think that they could be removed by laws of Congress, just like any agency could be dismantled by a Congressional law.
The Republicans need to continue to investigate Fast and Furious. The idea that this administration was going to use it as a way of getting Americans to support gun control here, is despictable, manipulation and criminal.
Holder is just another example of this administration behaving like a dictatorship. Marxists are going to behave like Marxists whenever they have power. As such, you can bet that Holder isn't the least bit concerned about this dog-and-pony show. Holder is a very small part of a massive corruption running our country. They are untouchable and, if we do finally arrest one, they will be summarily pardoned when the dictator steals the next election.

Holder could not have ordered Janet, Robert, Hillary and the rest of the cabinet to coordinate and cooperate with a DOJ (ATF) operation. That means the order to go forward with this HAD to come from a person with a higher pay grade than Holder. The order had to come from Barry himself.

I say Holder should be jailed, his license to practice law removed forever, put in a tiny cell, his pension taken away, and if he is willing to tell the Congress when Obama really knew about Fast and Furious and the money laundering maybe we will reduce his sentence to 100 years. Then when all he has worked for is taken away he will be honest, but I doubt it cause there isn't much difference between liar and lawyer.
