ricochet

Here’s what we’re doing: Creating a vibrant, funny, light, smart, cool, young, crackling conversation on the web, optimized for a new generation of mobile devices. It’s a non-stop, fun, addictive national feed of sharp, rat-a-tat exchanges, video and photo posts between our distinguished contributors and our subscribers. All from a decided center-right point of view.

Forty or so prominent Americans from all walks of life – from actors and sports figures to politicians and moguls – all contributing to a fast-paced, carry-it-with-you conversation.

Do we all agree on every point of policy? No. Do we all march in lockstep with the RNC talking points? Of course not.

But we’re all basically, deep-down, conservative. Not about everything. And not without a sense of humor and humility. But we all dissent from the current and dangerous big-government, leftward drift in the national conversation. What we’re creating, above all, is a strong, unapologetic, civilized, inviting, and fun center-right meeting place.

We'd love to have you join us!

We’ve got a star driven panel this week as Pat Sajak, and Jonah Goldberg join the show. It’s a fascinating conversation as they talk polling and how they ask the delicate questions, movie marketing, why Obama’s agenda polls terribly, but he himself doesn’t. Also, dogs, liberal economics, Jonah Goldberg’s unintentional impression of a Cylon, the predictable (and gratuitous) Star Trek reference and much more. All this, and Ethel Merman bringing up the rear. Yes, you read that right. Listen in!

Then, columnist Virginia Postrel joins us for an boots-on-the-ground report of the LA Obama-Jam, why Michelle isn’t Jackie, the allegedly non-functioning U.S. Senate, and the Target controversy. With Peter Robinson hiking in the Sierras (that’s not a euphemism, he actually is hiking in the Sierras), Jonah Goldberg sits in and perhaps needless to say, adult supervision is in short supply. Hence, we cover Star Trek (of course), gay bars and the GZM, the use of fake swear words in popular culture (Johnny Dangerously, anyone?), and the time Rob spotted former Labor Secretary Robert Reich in a hot tub. Really. Not to worry though, there’s plenty of serious discussion (tenure and taxes, primary election analysis, and of course, conservatives and pop culture) to go around.
