#OccupyWallSt Protesters: The Real Astro-Turf

by Phillip Dennis

The mainstream media is knocking itself out making comparisons between the Occupy Wall Street protests and the tea party movement. For years, the left has tried to find a left-wing equivalent to the tea party movement without success. Remember the Coffee Party? I didn’t think so.

The protesters in Manhattan and the tea party are 180 degrees apart. This rag-tag group of unwashed, middle-class socialists protesting against corporations and the rich don’t really know why they’re protesting. They just know they want something for free.  Lots of free stuff to everyone, except to the wealthy who produce the free stuff, is what the protesters want.

The Occupy Wall Street protesters represent perfectly what liberals, such as Nancy Pelosi, initially labeled the tea party movement in 2009. Pelosi tried to halt the rapid spread of the grass-roots tea party by suggesting it was controlled by the Republican Party and calling it “astro-turf.” That failed as people recognized that the Republican Party is not capable of creating anything with the brilliance of the tea party movement. The Occupy Wall Street protesters are another matter. The strings controlling it run directly to the labor unions and the White House. Obama political advisor Patrick Gaspard, who has worked closely with the ACORN-controlled Working Families Party and the largest local within the Service Employees International Union, has actually advertised on Craigslist to pay protesters to join in the fun taking place in Manhattan. Don’t expect any reporting of this from the mainstream media! They are too busy trying to compare the incomparable Occupy Wall Street to American patriots in the tea party movement.

I, Tea Party Imam, Declare Jihad on Big Spending!

by Phillip Dennis

Since the modern tea party movement began February 27th, 2009, leftist ideologues in both political parties have tried to halt the movement. Their tactics are as predictable as they are weak. Their weapon? Name-calling.

Why must the supposed elites in the progressive movement resort to such childish methods like name-calling to counter opposing political views? There are only two reasons. Either they are over-educated/under-smart or their political ideology is indefensible. After nearly three years of redistributing income, Stimulus bills, Cash for Clunkers, $1.6 billion annual deficits, and raising the debt ceiling a gargantuan $2 trillion, I submit the answer is obvious.

Tea party members have been called names like astroturf, right-wing extremists, evil mongers, teabaggers (by our own President), liars, baby killers, greedy and, of course, racist. None of these names has resulted in slowing down the movement. Quite the contrary, the silly names from our political opponents illustrate the weakness of their ideological position and embolden the tea party to lengthen our stride. But what is our great sin in the eyes of these elitist liberals by which we are labeled with such vitriol? Exercising our First Amendment rights to peacefully protest and electing political leaders to…horrors!… represent our views!

Every week, American citizens calling for fiscal responsibility are called new names by those who ridiculously support continued trillion dollar deficits and the borrowing/printing of $.44 on each federal dollar spent. Like all loyal foot soldiers, liberals immediately fall in line armed with the latest ad hominem and attack those in the tea party movement.

The current name du jour of the tea party is “terrorist.” No less than the Vice President of the United States, Joe Biden, referred to American citizens who identify with tea party principles as such. However, Biden’s use of “terrorist” is not to be confused with oft-misunderstood Muslim extremists who explode themselves and kill innocent victims. Those would be, according to leftist elites, freedom fighters. The real terrorists are Americans who disagree with raising our debt limit for the 11th time in recent history from the current $14 trillion to nearly $17 trillion and giving President Obama and his friends a $2 trillion plus spending spree before the election next November. How evil can we teabaggers…oops…terrorists be?

What Has Happened to Liberals In the Past 50 Years?

by Phillip Dennis

What has happened to liberals in the past 50 years? A quick perusal of the news each day shows a clear pattern of anti-American behavior and actions by Democrats. We read of Democrat behavior today that would have appalled American liberal statesmen like John Kennedy and Patrick Moynihan. While liberals of 50 years ago stood for generous social programs and higher taxes on the rich, we never doubted their love of America. Today, it is difficult to believe otherwise!

It is clear liberals view America as evil, hateful and a problem for the world. They curse and ridicule traditional values that made America grow from once-poor colonies to the world’s greatest superpower in a few hundred years. A quick viewing of headlines today shows the hatred liberals have for our country and even the desire to strengthen our enemies. For instance:

Liberal wacko Congressman Dennis Kucinich praises Syria murderer Bashad al-Assad
Holder: Justice to Drop Investigations Into CIA Officials Involved in Torture That Democrats advocated investigating these heroes that keep us safe proves my point!

Halt to Deportation of Citizen’s Same-Sex Partner Draws Fire So much for enforcing laws such as the Defense of Marriage Act signed by President Clinton!
CNN: McKinney blasts U.S. on Libya TV

U.S. shifts to closer contact with Egypt Islamists Does anyone really believe we should be doing business with the Muslim Brotherhood or Taliban?

Veterans Allege VA Censoring Prayer Would the VA have banned a Muslim ceremony with the Koran?

Dick Durbin: Illegal Alien Could Become President Instead of enforcing immigration laws, Democrats advocate changing the Constitution!

Politicians Should Stop Apologizing for Our Constitutional Freedoms

by Phillip Dennis

“I may not agree with what you say but I’ll fight to the death to defend your right to say it.” Voltaire

Who would have ever thought a philosopher from France (of all places) would support individual freedoms more than American political leaders? Not moi, but unfortunately we’re not making American political leaders like we used to!

Much has recently been made of Florida preacher Terry Jones’ burning of the Koran and the subsequent Afghanistan riots that resulted in the murders and beheadings of UN workers. What has been more repugnant, but not surprising, is the speed in which American political leaders have rushed in front of cameras to condemn Jones and even suggest restricting the First Amendment and freedom of speech!

South Carolina RINO Senator Lindsey Graham appeared on CBS Face The Nation yesterday. He stated:

“You know I wish we could find some way to hold people accountable. Free speech is a great idea, but we’re in a war. During World War II you had limits on what you could say if it would inspire the enemy.”

Senate Leader Harry Reid added on the same program:

“Ten to 20 people have been killed. We’ll take a look at this of course…as to whether we need hearings or not, I don’t know.”

Shame on these lame excuses for Americans! Graham has the audacity to state “free speech is a great idea?” No, Senator Graham, free speech is one of the cornerstone liberties that separate America from the totalitarian controls in countries where citizens suffer with the oppression of communism or sharia law. It is America’s love and defense of individual freedoms and rights that serve as the backbone of our love and defense of liberty.

Republicans Shouldn’t Take Tea Party for Granted

by Phillip Dennis

I recently met with a conservative Texas Congressman. I will not reveal his name because he did not give me permission and because it’s not the first time I have heard what he told me concerning the disappointing performance of Republican House Leadership since they were returned to power.

“What is it about the November election that Republican leadership doesn’t understand?” That is the first question I ask any Republican elected official who works in Washington. Each response from the numerous conservative Congressmen has been some variation of “they just don’t get it.” The Congressman who I met with said basically what I already knew, “House leadership has no plan to cut spending, repeal ObamaCare and is not conservative.”

Beyond that, the Congressman reported that he’s even heard Speaker Boehner speak derogatorily of the tea party behind closed doors. I’m not surprised. I have often said the Republican elite would like to see the tea party movement go away much more than the Democrats. I spoke last month with another Texas conservative Congressman who reported that Boehner has surrounded himself with “yes” men who are not conservatives and, if they once were, have sold their souls for leadership positions. Do you hear me Jeb Hensarling?

It’s this simple, the House Republican leaders have no plan to cut real federal spending or to repeal ObamaCare. Repealing or defunding ObamaCare was the ONE priority Americans sent the Republicans to do when they were returned to power in the House. I began to sense how things would be when Republicans pledged to cut spending by only $100 billion. $100 billion? Wow. Veni, vidi, durmi! I came, I saw, I yawned! We have a $1.65 TRILLION deficit this year alone! And, of course, Republican leadership has already retreated from the $100 billion to a measly $51 billion. You have to hand it to Republicans, they never fail to disappoint!

Federal Judge Vinson: Obamacare Not Such a Big @$#*ing Deal!

by Phillip Dennis

Remember when President Obama signed into law The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, more commonly known as ObamaCare, surrounded by grinning Democrats? Before approaching the podium, Vice President Joe Biden whispered to Obama, in a gaffe picked up by open microphones, “this is a big @$#*ing deal!” Naturally, Biden was wrong.

Today, US District Court Judge Roger Vinson decided ObamaCare wasn’t really that much of a big @#&*ing deal after all. Judge Vinson, a Reagan appointee (may peace and happy birthday be upon the Gipper), found ObamaCare violated the commerce clause in the Constitution by creating an individual mandate forcing Americans to purchase health insurance.

Judge Vinson wrote:

“Because the individual mandate is unconstitutional and not severable, the entire act must be declared void. This has been a difficult decision to reach, and I am aware that it will have indeterminable implications.”

Judge Vinson even used President Obama’s own words against him:

I note that in 2008, then-Senator Obama supported a health care reform proposal that did not include an individual mandate because he was at that time strongly opposed to the idea, stating that ‘if a mandate was the solution, we can try that to solve homelessness by mandating everybody to buy a house.’”

Monday’s decision can only be viewed as great news for states and should encourage more anti-ObamaCare legislation and lawsuits. Over half of US states have already filed suits to halt ObamaCare on its anti-Constitutional encroachments. Others states have passed legislation that prohibits the federal government from forcing ObamaCare on their citizens. The judgment today is also a huge opportunity for states to drastically slow preparations for upcoming ObamaCare mandates. Since Judge Vinson stayed his decision because ObamaCare does not become active until 2014, the final decision on its constitutionality will come from the Supreme Court. However, this is the second ruling by a federal judge against the big government takeover of America’s healthcare system.

President Obama, the Bankrupt Do Not Invest

by Phillip Dennis
In the State of the Union speech, President Obama called for numerous “investments.”  Most Americans, especially fiscally conservative tea partiers, fully realize “investments” translates from DemocratSpeak to English as “spending.”
In his speech, the President called for additional deficit spending towards renewable energy, spending on infrastructure such as roads and bridges, and additional funds for education.  Have we not been down this road before?  In 2009, the very same spending policies in the Stimulus Bill put the Democrats on the road straight to Teapartyville!
While calling for some spending reductions, the President’s desire to spend more money we will have to borrow or print rings hollow with voters.  Voters sent a strong message in the November elections that the federal government is out of control from a spending standpoint and must be brought to fiscal sanity.  The tone-deafness of the President in calling for additional spending is shocking but not unexpected based on the fact that Congressional Democrats recently re-elected Nancy Pelosi and Steny Hoyer to leadership.  Pelosi and team, with their out of control spending, cost Democrats 63 House seats in November.
Wasn’t the Stimulus Bill of 2009 passed to create thousands of shovel-ready jobs to improve the infrastructure?   Didn’t the $786 billion bill include billions for green energy projects that would also create jobs?  Yet unemployment hovers above 9%.   How many more billions must America borrow and spend on a broken and wasteful education system that puts American students at a disadvantage against students from other countries?

The Shameless Attempts Of The Left To Capitalize On The Arizona Tragedy

by Phillip Dennis
Most Americans learning of Saturday’s tragic events in Arizona were shocked and saddened by the violence and senseless murders.  Anyone witnessing the political left’s predictable finger pointing and hypocrisy toward the tea party since then became accustomed to these shameless tactics long ago.  Yet liberals, with their accomplices in the mainstream propaganda media, are using the tragedy in Tucson to begin a new national dialogue about the dangers of tea party “heated political rhetoric” in a sad attempt to slow the growth and power of the movement.
This week, tea party leaders across the country are being besieged with requests for media interviews to discuss the political rhetoric of conservatives.   Once again, tea party patriots will be forced to defend themselves against false accusations from the left.  A national discussion on political rhetoric was not the topic the leftist propaganda machine at first desired.  Before the last bullet casing hit the ground in Tucson Saturday, leftists were blaming the shooting on a tea party member and Sarah Palin.
Oh, how the left so wanted the killer in Arizona to be a member of the tea party movement!  They would have found the recipe to finally stop the movement that is destroying their big government political agenda.  After all, all other liberal attempts to stop the tea party have failed.  Calling the early tea party “Astroturf,” or pawns of the Republican party never caught hold.  Neither did Janet Napolitano’s warning in April 2009 of the dangerous “right-wing extremists” in the tea party movement.  It’s difficult to be frightened by silver-haired grandparents silently cleaning up the grounds after a protest at City Hall.
