‘Are You Better Off Than You Were Four Years Ago?’
by Adam SparksRonald Reagan’s poignant question to then President Jimmy Carter during a debate in 1980 clinched the presidential election. Carter presided over one of the worst economies. The economy had tanked and inflation had skyrocketed. Additionally, Iranian radicals had held 52 Americans hostage for almost a year. But that’s nothing compared to our nation’s economic malaise brought to you courtesy of Obama’s presidency.
Compared to the current economy, Carter was presiding over a picnic.
The first political ad for Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign was just released. It’s a pre-emptive measure. It’s also a powerful ad that will now set a new standard for the GOP.
Skyrocketing Debt. The national debt doubled from $5 trillion to $10 trillion on Bush’s watch. This was outrageous. This increase in national debt additionally increases interest payments to the bond holders. Americans must then pay the extra taxes just to satisfy the increased interest payments to satisfy those bond holders. In fairness, much of the increased debt was associated with 9/11 and the wars in both Iraq and Afghanistan, both of which, at the outset, had bi-partisan congressional approval. Even so, there were critics of Bush from those fiscally responsible players on the left, “We pay in interest four times more than we spend on education and four times what it will cost to cover 10 million children with health insurance for five years,” Pelosi sternly warned in 2007. “That’s fiscal irresponsibility.”
Obama, by comparison, went into an absolute spending frenzy and increased the debt to an unsustainable and new historical record. Pelosi, the left and their media echo are all silent. Obama maintained Bush’s wars and even started his own new and unpopular war in Libya. He did this without congressional approval or even consultation. More silence.
The Obama administration has already acknowledged that the national debt will total $15.476 trillion by Sept. 30, the end of the fiscal year. This is the first time since WWII, that the debt will reach 102% percent of the gross domestic product. That’s not 102% of annual revenue to the US Treasury, that’s 102% of the sum total of all economic activity in this nation. This record was created by an spending spree primarily done under the guise of stimulating the economy. It hasn’t. It’s been an abject failure. The only stimulation happened to our Treasury’s printing presses, which are working printing money 24/7. The economy is on life support and together with Obama’s policies of purposeful domestic uncertainty, increased taxes, outrageous deficit spending, increasing the national debt, anti-oil drilling, new business regulations, expanding a bloated bureaucracy, open borders, Obamacare and job killing initiatives-consumer spending is now anemic.
Economic uncertainty is rampant and unemployment rates are at historic levels.
When Mr. Obama was elected in November 2008, the unemployment rate stood at 6.8 percent, and the angry The left was wailing and gnashing their teeth. However, under Obama’s clever spending initiatives, unemployment promptly skyrocketed to 10.1 percent in October 2009; levels not seen since the great depression. This was a nearly 50% spike in the unemployment rate. The just released Gallup Poll finds the US unemployment rate has hardly changed; it’s now at 10% with underemployment at a whopping 19.3%.
How do Republicans take back the White House?
Bring back Reagan’s theme, “ Are you better off now than you were 4 years ago?”
It’s not a hard question to answer for most Americans. The Washington Examiner reports that “Obama’s current spending proposals, Republicans point out, will cost more than the United States spent on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the general war on terror and Hurricane Katrina in the last seven years. And that’s before you throw in the $2 trillion fiscal stabilization plan.”
Unemployment increased
Deficit Increased
National debt increased
Consumer satisfaction is down
Optimism about the future is down.
Foreign Policy is out of control.
Our allies have been either, ignored, insulted or spurned while our enemies are dined, courted and embraced. Foreign policy is in disarray. Israel has been rebuked numerous times, while the terrorism loving, Palestinian death-cult is embraced. Egypt’s Mubarak is bad and had to be taken out, but Syria’s terrorism-sponsoring and ruthless Assad is good and is now even a “reformer”, according to this administration.
If the Republicans can’t get a candidate to clearly articulate both Obama’s failures and a more optimistic vision for the future, it’s game over. It’ll be time for the GOP to collect all their marbles and go home.

“ Are you better off now than you were 4 years ago?” Not only NO but, HELL NO!
Well, if you measure it by all the extra guns I bought along with ammunition, plus gas generator, water purification system, dehydrated food and non-hybrid seeds, I'd say yes….. but if you ask me if I am earning more, or can afford more things, or feel safer and have a great outlook for the future….. ABSOLUTELY NOT!
Remove the traitor and his accomplices from Office for starters! Start some kind of hearings to stop this mans systematic destruction of America directly, and through partnership with all of the World's worst anti-American Dictators and Communists! …Save America- – dismantle the Obama Regime!
As far as money is concerned, yes. I bought a whole bunch of silver back in early 2002. Is the country better off, no way at all.
You speak wisely double pni…..
As much as I would like to have this pursued and the truth found out, as much as I despise this POTUS, I see no one in politics leading the charge. What I do see are some states passing laws that force all future presidential candidates to show proof of citizenship in order to get their name on their ballot….. I believe there are now 7 states with this…… so, if this turd POTUS wants to get re-elected, he will have to show it!…. and….. I don't think he can.
Just remember, when we finally decide on the next POTUS, we're not all going to like everything about him. Filtering through all of the crap to determining the nominee is not going to be pleasant. But we MUST replace BHO! So suck it up and GITTERDUN!
I'm starting to think that if I'm going to survive in this economy, I need to open a golf course that allows smoking.
This is such a revisionist article, it's disgusting. The Recession is BUSH'S FAULT. The housing and lending practices that spurred the recession were taking place under BUSH, with this approval might I add. Obama wouldn't have had to spend like he did had he not inherited Bush's dirty laundry. Let's cut down the article a bit more specifically though:
1. Bush didn't ask for congressional approval to invade Afghanistan or Iraq.
2.Our current economic recession started under Bush, the article fails to mention that the first of the bailouts happened under Bush's watch.
3. Unemployment did not "stand" at 6.8%, it was steadily increasing, even under Bush, Obama just picked up during the mess.
4."Our allies have been either, ignored, insulted or spurned while our enemies are dined, courted and embraced. Foreign policy is in disarray."
This is out and out revisionism. Who invaded Iraq and basically told the UN to screw off? Bush, that's who. Every major world leader, except for maybe Karzai, thought Bush was bumbling idiot and much prefer Obama.
5. "If the Republicans can’t get a candidate to clearly articulate both Obama’s failures and a more optimistic vision for the future."
Optimistic vision for the future? When was the last time any Republican came up with any plan that didn't involve cutting state and federal programs, while also promoting tax cuts? There is no original thought in the Republican party, it's all about tackling Democrat ideas without throwing out alternatives. (And I'll eat my words if someone can supply a quality idea from Republicans that wasn't shot down and ridiculed almost unanimously by the private sector)
6. "Obama maintained Bush’s wars and even started his own new and unpopular war in Libya. He did this without congressional approval or even consultation. More silence."
Of course Obama maintained Bush's wars, what was he supposed to do? Cut and run at the outset of his Presidency? And Libya (which isn't a war, not even close) didn't need congressional approval, it's not required of him (as Bush fully embraced). Furthermore, this was a UN sanctioned operation, which neither Afghanistan, nor Iraq, were.
If Americans can answer that question truthfully, Obama will be denied a second term.
The strategy behind this ad is excellent – take the President's words and show the "true" facts. It is short and to the point, another thing necessary for Americans, who want their news in soundbites of a minute or less.
Sir, respectfully, any answers posted here are redundant.
We here do not work for Soros.
Am I better off? Of course not. Is that ad funny as hell. Ha ha ha ha….yeah. Sad too. Maybe this dolt of a POTUS(being charitable) will bring one positive to our country, the discredit of progressivism/communism/fascism/liberalism in it's totality. +Hanzo+
Thanks Stan. This guy is laughing at U.S. like all ruthless Dictators do. We have to throw a BIG cog in his wheel, if nothing else. Someone has to slow his train down for the time he has left.
The hearings from the House of Rep are helping. They need to keep them on the calendar as a steady exposure of the ROTTEN underpinnings of the BO Regime!
NO …we are NOT better off. But WE are prepared: Food, Water Filter System, Guns and Ammo.
Congress, how about cutting the White House Budget and entire Executive Branch by 50% ???
NO WAY!
Not personally, and not as a country.
Without informed and real resistance…Obama is on his way to' the fundamental transformation' of this country that he advertised, loud and clear, in his 2007-2008 campaign.
Sadly, not enough people on our side were 'listening'…or if they were listening, they were subscribing to the 'it can't happen here' mind set.
But there is a chance…if we are willing to take the time to answer by 'bullet points' WHY his version of CHANGE has been a DISASTER.
Under chairman zeros' leadership………..the price of gas has doubled.
In 2.2 yrs of 0'bumbles plan to bankrupt Our Country……………our National Debt …………….has increased: $3,643,237,481,887 (that's Trillion, with a "Tee" dollars).
Anyone who votes for this idiot again……………..ought to have their voting privileges revoked.
What's up with ~ " The Obama Male Leadership Academy" ~ in Dallas Texas? …This man has an insatiable appetite to brainwash people!
Also Obama has a TV Ad with a web site of course. He wants people to work in their communities to help others. Really? Then why are they to report to Obama via his web site? Sounds like Communist recruitment to me. Am I wrong?
I loved this post! You have a nice gift for satire! You did a brilliant job lampooning the "It's all Bush's fault, and everything he did is wrong, unless Obama does it, too" point of view.
I agree. The ad is funny, but only to a point, given how high the stakes are. But I admit I openly laughed when I saw Obama riding a flying unicorn with rainbows coming out of its butt.
You are reciting all Dem talking points.
Any analysis of our current economic situation without considering Fan/Fred, community redevelopment act, Dodd, Frank and last but not least…Alinsky, Cloward-Piven and the Fed Res. is nothing but uneducated ramblings of a socialist Kool-aid drinker.
I agree 100% BD, we're probably gonn'a have to give some slack on "social issues" which will risk
having some of the "religious right" refusing to vote for a Republican candidate again, as they did in
2008.
Does anyone other than me remember that there were commenters on the Bigs who reported that
their pastors encouraged entire congregations to sit out that election?
They gave us lil o, but now want to deny that fact with all number of excuses why their vote for some
obscure third party candidate had no affect on the outcome. What a CROCK!
They'll even argue that lil o's election was a good thing. If I live to be 120 I'll never understand that
l o g i c (?)
The only way we can get this criminal out of office is by convincing our 50 mule-team to pull together.
Yet to be determined whether we can do that… perhaps they hold that one thing in common with the
LEFT. . . they'd rather see our Representative Republic go down the tubes, than not "get their way".
In that respect they remind me of a spoiled two year old.
Heh, heh . . . Happy Trails!
; )
Man, you really need to pull your head out of your ass, When Bush left office our deficit was only eight hundred billion, we all know where it is now, Bush did ask Congress before he invaded Iraq, we had a Democratic Congress at the time and they would have called for his head, you are really an ignorant person and should do some research before posting comments.
I never said Obama was perfect, but in terms of the economy, yes, it's all Bush's fault.
The unicorn's a really nice touch.
I'm hard pressed to think of anyone I know who's better off. I know some who are treading water and unfortunately, many who have been devastated.
I suppose that's "progress."
So you're saying I'm wrong? The recession didn't start under Bush's presidency?
My SS has stayed where it was three years ago, my CD's have dropped from five per cent to one half percent and I now am spending my lifetime savings at an alarming rate. I am too old and nobody will hire me so my answer is no, I am worst off under this moron that the morons call a President.
Obama is taking over your TV set and OUR young and gullible Citizens! He has a new TV Ad. but see link below for a history of how he's been doing this for years. – - – Obama is one of the worlds most deceitful, stealth, RUTHLESS DICTATORS ever in office!
I saw his frightening TV Ad yesterday where, again, he calls on citizens to organize and volunteer in their Communities. Really? Right away I see his TOXIC TENTACLES going out into our American communities, using our Citizens to do what they think is GOOD for U.S., which turns out to be INDOCTRINATION against our American Culture of infividual freedom. He even gives his Web site= Serve.gov. Really?
http://www.martinfrost.ws/htmlfiles/oct2009/obama...
This link shows the same pattern of conspiring with TV to spew his Socialist propaganda & RECRUITMENT of our Citizens to create his Army of Communists to take over America. Caveat Emptor!… STOP HIM!
The DemocRAT Governor of Hawaii can't find it, I doubt if it does exist, if there is a Birth Certificate it will have to be translated by a Kenyan.
Forced to find a different job and to take a 60% pay cut just as you are entering the seventh decade of your life does not make for good economic times. Well I could have waited for the string to play out on my former job and then gone on unemployment, but then I'd have been one of them. I've had two pay raises at my new job-good thing!-I need that for gas money.
In the spring of 2007, you started to see the first rumblings of the beginning of the meltdown. A few, and I mean only a few economists said the first waive of adjustable, sub-prime mortgages were coming due which would result in higher mortgage payments for the homeowner. That was it. The standard response from Wall Street was these homeowners would be able to refinance. However, the well was dry. In 2002, Warren Buffett warned in his letter to shareholders of the danger derivatives, based upon sub-prime mortgages posed to the economy. It was obvious, no one in Washington listened.
We have a lot in common in our preparation.
I've planted apple trees…………..to attract deer within 100 yards of my back porch.
Question should be: "Are you better off than you were 10 minutes ago?"
We are on such a steep downward slope that we can measure downfall by the minute.
Gas prices, oil prices, food prices – they are increasing on a daily basis.
During the Weimar Republic days, people were so bad off that they got paid twice a day in order to afford bread which doubled in price every day. We are not far from that right now.
Again, "Are you better today than just yesterday??"
My answer is NO! We are worse. Only Obama and his regime and the unions are better off, real Americans are dying.
Dude, you ever read anything other than HuffPo, MediaMatters BS or watch anything other than CNN?
Not only are you reading from a Soros script, your a phucking idiot.
If you want a debate about this………I'm your Huckleberry. But you have to promise to respond, even though you will look like the idiot you are trying to defend what I will point out.
You really have no clue. In the spring of 2010, I attended a luncheon where Warren Buffett and Henry Paulson spoke for more than one hour. At this luncheon, Buffett stated that TARP prevented a depression WHICH WOULD HAVE BEEN GREATER THAN THE GREAT DEPRESSION. That is right. As far as the CRA, I will take the opinion of the chairman of the FDIC any day. Read and weep: http://www.fdic.gov/news/news/speeches/archives/2...
Chairman O has made a bad situation much much worse.
When Bush left office the federal deficit was 165 billion, two years later it is 1.6 TRILLION!
When Bush left office "I could choose" whether or not "I" wanted health insurance, two years later that CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT has been stripped away!
When Bush left office gasoline was under 2 dollars per gallon, under Chairman O its over 4!
Remember who removed the Glass Steagall Act, nearly all democrats working with a few RINOs on a bill introduced by Chris Dodd and Barney Frank to modify the CRA.
The 'modified' CRA was signed into law by the impeached president, truth be told, this is Bubba Clinton's depression.
Do the math, Chairman O is an unmitigated disaster!
They say DC is a boom town. It's like San Francisco during the gold rush. Everyone is getting rich and it will take at least a decade for law and order to prevail.
Get off the "waive" of sub-primes, will 'ya? What a retard you are, do you think the debt has anything to do with the dire straits of our economic situation right now? How about the ramping up of the printing presses, flooding the world market with fiat dollars? The inflation rate dosen't include energy or food, what do you think the TRUE rate is? Who started the sub-prime lending spree anyway? Was it perhaps der Slickmeister Klinton? Man, I've NEVER seen a bigger dolt of an apologist for such a filthy, corrupt, amoral regime than you, not even mikatrollah or syntaxgame, you take the cake! Just continue your droning meme of "subprimes, it's Bush's fault" crap, you're soooo insignificant anyway. Besides, @sswipe, TRUE Conservatives don't identify with Bush anyway, except on social issues. You are so entirely weak, devoid of any common sense at all. Have a nice day. +Hanzo+
wow………….this thing is awesome………………..there's a lot of information staring you in the face right there.

If president ben dover is re-elected?………………….This country is doomed…………………i'm convinced.
Reminds me of Rush's recent discussions w/ some blueblooders about Palin. Before we go knocking her [or any conservative] around, we need to determine if replacing BHO is our goal or not. That said, we can certainly do better than McCain!
OT-who is your icon pic of?
Let's just hope that the state of the economy will trump all other issues this time, then a Repub is a lock. +Hanzo+
Her avi is a pic of my gf.

That part of the video with biden saying we have to "spend more money to keep from going bankrupt" is actually a harsh reality.
But the only reason that this could be considered "true," is if the entire economic model had been built up as a giant Ponzi scheme. That is, the Ponzi scheme only gets revealed when the flow of "dollars" is cut off. It's been going on for generations, but in the past, the scam could be perpetuated by the dollars flowing in the private sector, combined with government spending. Now, as the scam is about to blow up, and can't be covered by the real economy, government has stepped in to "create new money" on a massive scale, and they're scrambling for ways to keep those dollars moving, not only through massive government waste, but also by means such as driving up the price of oil and the expansion of "kinetic military operations."
"Let me be clear," the massive explosion of government spending and debt has NOTHING to do with "building the economy." It has EVERYTHING to do with protecting the Ponzi scheme, because on the day that that is revealed, the entire US economy will, in fact, dissolve. Not because We The People did anything wrong, but because our government (and the Fed) has gamed us all.
we the people are significantly collapsed and betrayed by Democrats….and their caliphate of Hate…al qaeda's best friends…electing Obama symbolized that we lost the War on Terror as Obama has clealy switched sides…
Yeah, that was def a nice touch!!
+Hanzo+
ROFLOL, and how does the mother of your three chillins feel about that, heh, heh…?;-D

Yeah, let's do it.
What in the hell is this?

They are calling for a revolution? Against what?
This is really messed up if this happens…
The days of the Kings and Queens are gone… You revolt and see people being killed or maimed or thrown in jail for working? For doing what they are doing day in a day out… to serve their customers…
If this happens there will be a MASS exodus from the US…
Be warned…
Publius
Correction-the union LEADERS are better off…
The answer is of course… no…
lucky you Hanzo-lucky you:)
I understand your sentiment Hanzo, however relying on mere "hope" has me terribly uneasy
because that is exactly what I did during the 2008 election of lil o . . .
and FOX News had me convinced we had a chance till the last minute. I now realize how foolish
I was in that instance, and understand that I was employing selective listening . . .
Fool me once, blah, blah, blah . . .
IOW, it damn sure won't be happening again!
Happy Trails!

Try contributing some thoughts instead of spam. This has to be the umpteenth time I've seen this exact post on this site.
Yes everything is wonderful, if $hitty is good! The good news it’s getting time that we can personally thank “Himself” aka Barry…come on 2012.
If that question even has to be asked, then America deserves what it gets.
i especially like the "personal debt per citizen"………………that's for every man, woman, and child in America…..
$51,932.00………………and counting…………..that kind of puts it into 0bama dollars for you.
"I will take the opinion of …………..[fill in the blank] any day"
That's your problem Bo. You'll "take the opinion" of others, rather than applying any critical thinking on your own, every single time. It doesn't matter as much Who's opinion you take, the fact that you aren't capable of thinking for yourself is why so many of your assertions are deficient. Your defense of "your" ideas are always predicated on "I'm right because [fill in the blank] told me what THEY think."
It's time to break that habit, and to begin to form your OWN thoughts.

Well…..I'm happily divorced, Cornflower. But, you DO have a point, I might be just a WEE tiny bit too old for an 18 year old……my daughter is 16(blush). When I first saw your avi I thought that chick was prob up in her 20's, 'til Galt directed me to that site.
+Hanzo+
Btw, I guess you must be close in age to your avi gal, right?
Yeah….Cornbread Rules!
The fact that you actually BELIEVE Paulson – now we know where you get all your idiotic ideas.
Please prove how TARP money going to BoBo's SUPPORTERS to keep GOVERNMENT employees from being fired helped us in anyway? And I mean the REAL workers of America – the ones PAYING the bills, not the Gubment employees sucking off the tit.
YOU really ARE an idiot – and before you say Buffet made millions blah blah- you'll notice he ALREADY has his millions that he actually didn't GET that money by today's rules and regulations (which do everything they can to PREVENT people from succeeding). Of course he wants to PROTECT what he has.
And they ALWAYS seem to forget that when Pres. Bush WANTED to investigate and stop Freddie/Fannie – who screamed the loudest??
J144
Aren't you actually saying that we are already bankrupt, but we just don't know it?
Well, all the obummerites relied on that hopey changey thing….I see your point, look where it got them.
I actually had a gf who voted for bho(don't tell anyone,k?), needless to say, she has awoken from her deep slumber and now hates him. I dunno, it either shows the power of the media or the gullibleness of the populace in general.

Happy Trails Back At 'Ya !!
Go back to sleep
We are losing our Nat'l, God-Given Blessings as the U.K. has lost theirs. America has a moral or spiritual situation to deal with.
If they'd just go back ON THIS VERY SITE – they'd actually see we didn't like when 43 was "going along" with the Dem's in spending all that money.
They continue to think that "just because" we scream at what BoBo is doing, somehow (in their asinine thought process) that we "approved" what 43, 41 and Reagan did. They can't understand that we can actually be against BOTH.
This week they said the unemployment numbers are getting better. My question is, when someone retires and is replaced is that part of the monthly employment numbers because the boomers are starting to retire and that could make it look like things are getting better when they aren't.
Soldiers still in Iraq.
More Soldiers in Afghanistan and more dying because of hands tied behind their backs.
Increasing Debt.
GITMO still open and no trials taking place there.
Libya.
Inflation.
Unemployment up.
Home value and dollar value down.
Gasoline up.
Purchasing power down.
The only thing that has remained the same all along is that Obama is still lying every time he speaks.
Nope, no one in Washington listened. I wonder who??? Answer: Democraps. Fact: The Bush Administration and the GOP were working since 2001 to reform Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac as they realized that it was not sustainable and were trying to avoid a housing market crash. It was the Democrats – including ACORN and Barack Obama – led by Chris Dodd and Barney Frank who blocked the GOP’s efforts to prevent the crisis by demonizing them as racists and scare-mongers.
The way it currently works, as I understand it, the official government numbers are basically a count of people receiving unemployment benefits.
When the benefits run out, they are no longer counted as unemployed.
It is increasing clear that we have lost the general understanding that when there is inequality, that inequality is not a fun of those people benefiting from that inequality… but the system in-which is supporting it…
This premise is what is driving the change and the only options being presented are SOCIALISM…
This article from Vanity Fair says it all:
"Of the 1%, by the 1%, for the 1%" – Joseph E. Stiglitz
At Vanity Fair…
Where the reality is this…
If the entrepreneur was able to do what they need to do… this income inequality would not exist…
If the regulations and business hurdles could be eliminated and taxes reduced…
There would be many millions of people being lifted from their problems…
Because of the government controls and the business hurdles.. the rich have become richer because their competitors have gone out of business… yes?
So the answer is to let Freedom ring… not crush freedom…
Publius
Well davew, I can agree with you on the Bush's, RR however, is another story, as I did approve of the tremendous job he did. Sounds as though you might have issues with RR. When RR took office he was faced with a misery index in the 20's. He slashed the marginal tax rates, deregulated large portions of industry, busted some of the most nefarious unions, presided over the creation of 20,000,000 jobs in just 8 years, defeated Communism, etc., etc., all the while battling a VERY hostile Congress. He actually brought us back from the brink of Socialism. Heady stuff, eh? +Hanzo+

What I was trying to ask in an awkward way is, do they compare the number of those retiring to the number of people getting jobs? If you retire you don't add to unemployment numbers, the person who replaces you goes off of unemployment BUT this does not mean that the economy is getting better, does it?
Don't NEW jobs mean that things are getting better?
Of course – If you ask this question in October 2012 – the answer will be a resounding "Yes ! Yes ! Hell Yes !"
Muhahahahahaaaa !
Barack Hussein Obama will be your President until January 2017 ! Muahahahahaaaaa !
How you play with numbers –
Now tell me – What were the numbers of the last budget written by the Bush administration ? The 2009 Budget ? What were they ?
Tell us coward.
Oh, I'm not saying RR was "bad". He did make mistakes – pulling out of Lebennon, "trusting" the Dem's to actually lower spending.
I'm right along with bringing back good ol' Reagan Conservatism. I joined the Marines in 86' because of Reagan and was there when his words rang true – "Tear down this wall."
No, it's no longer just the union leaders.
The death threats in Wisconsin came from a rank-and-file teacher.
Sadly, the yeast of the Pharisees has infected all union members – and not just in the public sector either.
Just look at the video clips of these rank-and-file union members – they are no longer Americans. They subscribe to the one-world crap that their leaders have fed them.
They are brainwashed idiots.
Hmmm… With ~18% real unemployment, that key question is going to sink the S.S. Obamanation in '12.
Aw, isn't that cute, a little proggie playing Alinsky games with reality.
http://blog.heritage.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/...
You people are absolute asses, pull your head out of your colon twerp.
Have you ever known any person ever in the history of economic reality that has been able to spend themselves out of debt?
The answer is an emphatic no.
Covering credit card debt with new credit cards will NEVER eliminate anyone's debt, it only delays the inevitable.
If anyone is a coward it is you and your asswipe messiah, Chairman O.
Seems like that gals name is Ainee or somethin' like that, and I believe she's 24 y.o –

The highest count I've seen, Dave, is 17 times. Any account I've seen of conversations between Bush and Balmy, Maximiliana, or Franklin, it sounded like they all blew it off, essentially telling him to go to Hell.

You are correct sir, and these thieves and thugs are gonna try any and everything. Only time more dead will rise to vote is when they rise on judgement day. We need to post security at the polls to inspect car trunks for dead voters and extra ballots.
Listen Otraitor is a gangster if the election is even close he will steal it and his lacky Holder will do nothing. I think the ammo and weapons mind set is right. All hoping for the next election to change anything are dreaming. We thought this one would and what do we get Boner running the House. Has he defunded Deathcare yet? Nope just business as usual.
Sadly enough John and as we all know, only those at the top get rich in a ponzi scheme. Obama is the Fonzi of the Ponzi
The recession has been in the making for generations. The communist, unconstitutional constructs called Freddie and Fannie were, for decades, the ace-in-the-hole for the day when the Demmunists knew economic ignorance had finally reached critical mass and could be used for the ultimate divide-and-conquer scam and economic/moral/intellectual eunuchs like yourself bought their bullsh*t revisionism about the actual machinations in play and how long this scam had been in the making.
Right on bro. Lebanon was one of his biggest mistakes, and the deaths of the Marines haunted him. The scurillous dems weren't concerned with cutting spending, if they were, they'd have given RR the line-item veto. I'm not so sure he trusted the dems as far as he could throw them, he viewed our situation as being so dangerous that he had to give up some of what he wanted done policy wise in order to get the bulk of what he wanted through Congress. It's amazing what he did get through Congress, what with the open hostility and outright hatred shown by the dems and their pals in the msm. Just shows the force of his personality, and the fact that most Americans identified with what he stood for. Of course, we rewarded him(and ourselves) with the 2 greatest landslides in pres. election history! See 'ya around bud.

The gov doesn't report how many people are out of work, looking for jobs. So, the #'s aren't meaningful.
Wow! warglory got his internet day at the spin bin. LOL!
Well crap, I've got 4,000 comments to sift through myself. No, your avi gal is 18, saw it with my own 2 eyes.
If someone really wanted to know either of our ages, just remember the old adage- "If a person isn't a lib when they're 20, they have no heart, if they aren't a Conservative when they're 30, they have no brain"- there, we're both 30 then, although I can't remember being a lib when I was 20!
>Hanzo>
Happy Trails!
Cornbread Rules!
You left out the most important part of your assertion about the so called 'misinformation and lies', the intelligence reports of Saddam's WMD's came from the UN security council, the French, The Germans and the Saudis.
You can try to revise or twist history all you like but you can never hide from it.
Correct. In D.C. only the Bush Admin pushed congress to do anything about it. It was blocked by Dems & some Repubs.
What was your point Huskers?
"Obama Male Leadership"
What would that even mean?
LOL, "the old adage" Guess I must'a been some kind'a freak then, since
I seem to have been born conservative, into a household of deniers who thought
there could be such a thing as a conservative Dem . . . Bunch'a freakin' FOOLS!
Happy Trails, again Hanzo!

That's one opinion article about Fan and Fred, who were not the root of the problem. Let's discuss the debt the U.S. incurred by borrowing billions from China, deregulation of the banking system, and of course 8 years Bush trickle down economics, which many economists directly link to the large disparity between the rich and middle class (who took heavily from their home's equity in order to maintain their livelihoods).
Why are you blaming everything on Fred and Fan?
Yep. That's EXACTLY what I'm saying. But "others" know it. Those who are currently at the top of the pyramid know it. Those who are heavily invested in the scam know it.
And anyone who has applied some measure of critical thinking to the situation also knows it. And it's not so much that we're just "bankrupt." That's a term better applied to elements of the real, physical economy. What I'm saying is that the perceived, monetary wealth that we all believe actually exists, doesn't actually exist at all. It's a lie. It's pure alchemy. It's a witch's brew built on the illusion of real wealth. Think "Bernie Madoff." As long as the perception of wealth is kept alive, the scam can continue.
Now, that's not to say there isn't a REAL economy. There is. It's just that the physical economy could NEVER keep pace with the creation of fictitious "money." And so to keep the Ponzi scheme going, there needed to be created, artificial means of INFLATING the "dollars." To understand any of this, you have to think in terms of the last century. Yes, about the same time that the Fed was created, as well as the progressive income tax.
In the first part of any Ponzi scheme, you need an influx of capital. And so the "income tax" becomes the vehicle you use to hoard "wealth" that was created from nothing. Some of that you spend, some of it you skim. But as you spend that money, you need to create more "wealth" (from nothing) to cover what you've skimmed. And so you raise the rate of those taxes. Some you spend. Some you skim. But there comes a time that you can't just "raise taxes" to cover what you skimmed, so another method is employed. Next, you begin to create "inflation." Now you're creating the illusion of wealth by "printing more dollars." It's not REAL wealth, but it gives the "illusion" of wealth. But inflation alone can't keep the Ponzi going forever (you end up in a "Great Depression"), so you need to create another vehicle for extracting money from the real economy. And so, from the Great Depression, they create another scheme. And they call this one Social Security. Another fictitious stream of "wealth," created from nothing, in order to cover the "losses" from inflation. Some you spend. Some you skim.
Continued:
Continued:
When the time comes where THAT cash flow isn't enough to cover what's been skimmed, you need to create a new source of income. So you build up a "military industrial complex" with an endless stream of global wars and conflicts in order to raise the rate of taxation again, COMBINED with increased inflation.
But at some point, another problem arises. The "dollar" is still pegged to the Gold Standard. And the schemers already know that there isn't enough gold in the treasury to cover all that fictitious "wealth." So you replace the Gold Standard with the "new standard" of the "full faith and credit of the United States." Now they're free to print and spend and tax and skim to their heart's content. But STILL, there needs to be a way of continually moving the MASSIVE amount of inflated, fictitious and growingly devalued dollars around, or else reveal the scam. So they work out a deal with the Saudis to only trade oil with the "dollar." Now the whole world is helping to move the fictitious dollars through the purchase of oil. So now we have the income tax, Social Security, inflation, the military and wars,. We have fiat money and oil being traded with fictitious "money."
But alas, a true Ponzi scheme can never "end." So enter the "fractional reserve system." Now we have banks loaning "money" on "cash" that doesn't exist. Now that's not a new vehicle, but it's one that can be manipulated to advance the "illusion" of "wealth." But it's still accelerating out of control, so they need another way to build the pyramid. Add the "investment banks," and the "derivatives market." It's another Ponzi scheme, but it covers the scam of all that created fictitious "wealth." They call it "exotic finances," but even it needs a source of REAL wealth. So they tear down the firewall between the "investment banks" and the "commercial banks." NOW they're using the only remaining source of cash left to them; the collective savings of every American citizen, and creating from that even more "exotic investment schemes" to keep the scam alive.
And so here we are today. All of those things we see as "bad political and economic policies" are NOT as they appear. TARP, stimulus, "health care," industry takeovers, QE1, QE 2, redistributing the wealth, trillion dollar deficits, increased and expanded wars, government waste and subsidies and foreign aid, and inflated oil prices……………………….. ALL OF IT, every bit of it is happening for one reason. They MUST keep the Ponzi scheme from being revealed. That is, UNTIL the time is "RIGHT" to "crash the system."
That's when we get to "predicting the future." And that's something that falls under the purview of the "conspiracy theorists" at the bottom of the pyramid, and the "power-broker schemers" at the top.
All I can give you is where we've been, where we are, and how we got here. As for the future, your guess is as good as mine.
I'll bet you regret asking. : )
Here are Comrade Calamity's economic "accomplishments:"
• Lowest labor-force participation rate since… Jimmy Carter.
• Highest U-6 unemployment rate since… Jimmy Carter.
• Poorest income growth rate since… Jimmy Carter.
• Highest net job loss number – 7.5 million – since… Jimmy Carter. And even if last month's job-creation number holds between now and election day 2012, the net job loss will STILL be well north of 5 million.
• Fastest debt accumulation EVER, in both real and nominal terms.
• Highest number of Americans – 63 percent – saying the nation is "on the wrong track" since… Jimmy Carter.
• Fifty-two percent of Americans say President Present doesn't deserve re-election. That's the highest number since… Jimmy Carter.
Add 'em all up, chump, and Your Hero the Zero is roadkill.
EDIT: That One's RCP average job-approval rating is net negative… again.
I agree with you Stan. BO will never pass the vetting, if he even gets that far. He' got too much to hide…..
