Post Party Summits: Taking the Fight to the Ballot Box
by Anita MonCriefAs President Obama vacationed in North Carolina this past weekend, concerned Americans decided to dedicate their time to freedom. The Post-Party Summits, hosted by American Majority, Smart Girl Politics and RedState, kicked off the first Summit in Pittsburgh, PA on April 23rd. American Majority President Ned Ryun explained the idea behind the Post-Party Summits in a recent interview:
“The Post-Parties are about moving from protesting to implementing, and that’s what was so exciting about Pittsburgh: these people came to learn, realizing that the next iteration of the tea party movement is organizing into a potent political force. And I believe that is the answer to bringing about the change needed in this country: the tea party and 9.12 movements organizing into privatized political infrastructure to advance the great principles of free enterprise, individual freedom, and limited government.”
On Friday evening during the opening dinner, Erick Erickson of RedState gave a rousing speech regarding the next step for concerned Americans. The audience went wild when Erickson stated “The silent majority can no longer be silent.”
The Summit training courses were designed to equip citizens with the tools to effectively participate in the electoral process. Classes include, Creative Leadership,Micro-targeting Precincts, Building Effective Coalitions, Running for Office, Media Coaching: TV and Radio, and a host of other classes designed to train Americans to become more involved in the community. Ryun described it as being:
“A community organizer for Freedom”
American Majority, RedState and Smart Girl Politics plan to train in Denver, CO., Jacksonville, FL., Indianapolis, IN., Boston, MA., Kansas City, MO. and Charlotte, NC. Pittsburgh’s summit attracted over 250 participants and the attention of the far left Daily Kos.
As a instructor, this reporter witnessed reactions that ranged from the amazed to the energized at the Summit. Participants expressed an eagerness to get involved and seemed determined to take the information back to their friends and family. American Majority and several of the instructors provided materials and many took home extra for their friends or groups. Feedback from the Summit is evidence of how important the information was to the attendees.
“This was fantastic. I feel like I just robbed you by only paying $50 for this.”
“The whole workshop was BEYOND my expectations! I never expected the degree of excellence. The information was needed….I look forward to follow-ups to learn even more!”
“This is great! No one should feel alone anymore. Hello world, the vocal majority is taking its rightful place!”
“The social networking, wiki and blog workshops (were most helpful). They opened my eyes to the online world and how much we need to participate.”
“I just came home from the Pittsburgh Post-Party Summit and to think I didn’t even know about your organization four days ago, wow! I am so glad that I followed my instincts and went. It was so informative and now I feel I have a support system in this revolution to get back our country. Thank you for all your efforts…..”
Despite the negative media attention that attempts to paint these new activists as angry or dangerous, what the Post-Party Summit really represented was your neighbor next door, your aunt, your mom, everyday Americans who have decided to organizing is not a matter or left or right, it’s a matter of freedom.

Now, this is a great idea!!
This is exactly what the people of this country need. A short education to find a way out of a maze that is politics and to arm themselves with the knowledge that yes, We the People have the power to change what is wrong with this country. Excellent!!
I love it, and is important in several election cycles putting this country right. We must play the game!
Great article, too. Hope to see one of these soon in the Dallas area. Time to take out the trash.
We need to beat the community organizers at their own game. Bring it on kiddies.
Having the political grassroots "know how" is important, but nothing is more important then having a real grasp of issues and the ability to think on your feet…
The "gift of gab" and good teeth, don't hurt either…
I just hope they include campaign finance reform as part of their platform! Maybe they can start by saying NO to corporate donors, and press for PUBLICLY financed elections, what better way to start a TRUE party of the PEOPLE!!
Beat them at their own game!
The development of taking the Tea Party movement to the next level is,……………….
something I have been waiting for with greta anticipation……..
In my not so humble opinion, I would recommend ,………….
A.)…..we come up with just a few very strong planks
B.)…..get a politician running for office this November to agree in some sort of binding manner (if possible)
C.)…..than commit to work for his or her election,……..door to door,…………street to street.
For the left 'community organizing' is all about how to get more from the government in the way of entitlements. Their tactics have obviously and painfully been successful. It is about time for conservatives to employ the very same tactics to reclaim our liberties and to shrink the government.
Lord knows that it will be near impossible to root out the corruption in DC but if nothing else should the TEA Party keep true to its roots and simple message of smaller government the crooks will be fewer and easier to find.
The left will paint this as part of the great right wing conspiracy but it is a natural evolution of a movement and needed if it is to survive.
We could be witnessing the birth of a new future in politics, one driven by principles and integrity. Long live TPM!!
We've been doing this in the So. Denver area(Parker, Castle Rock, Franktown).. We have forums with getting to know candidates that are running.. We had a school board election and without much advertisments or signs, the group of 4 that were conservative won, they were up against 4 who were union backed and had signs all over the cty..
Start small work your way up..
Although in Nov., there needs to be a rout..
What a concept.
No from Unions….
A caller to a talk radio show posited a position that the rich in this country have too much money and they needed to have it taken away from them. When asked who should make that decision she was perfectly OK with Obama deciding that. When asked how she makes her living she said that she is on welfare. When asked if she knew how many people live in the USA she answered 600 million. When asked where she thinks her welfare money comes from, she responded the 'it comes from Obama's stash'. When asked where Obama got this money she replied the she doesn't know or care.
THIS IS WHAT WE ARE UP AGAINST!!! If we cannot manage to defeat this type of thinking and re-establish the work ethic in this country as opposed to the entitlement mentality we will be doomed to have a population of these kinds of people.
The bottom line message needs to be "GET INVOLVED" at every level.
This is a long journey we are embarking on. Taking back America and reversing the direction it has been going for more than 40 years will take time. Persistence and staying on message is critical.
Let's keep the message simple: smaller governemt
Great idea! Since we can't get em out from the top down until 2012, we'll get em out from the bottom up. Love it!
I can't think of a timelier message to send to President
Obama, his leftist administration and the ultraliberal
111th Congress than "Don't Tread on Me!"
We have witnessed the Obama/Reid/Pelosi axis of power
repeatedly run roughshod over the Constitution, the
rule of law and the American people.
Their unbelievable arrogance has stirred a deep resolve
among patriotic citizens to stop this tyranny before
they succeed in remaking the United States of America
into a socialist nation.
ObamaCare's unconstitutional expansion of
government into the private lives of
Americans has paved the way for even more
oppressive attacks on our faith, families and freedom.
Keep the faith, and God Bless America
Congratulations on the "Victory of Four" Heidi. Can you possibly elaborate some on how things came together?

don't forget a firm handshake. Many are the first impressions that have been soured by limp-wristed pantywaists.

Goes without saying…
But more folks see you then you will actually shake hands with…
Hence, the importance of the gift of gab and the smillin' teeth…
”All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent.” – Thomas Jefferson

LOL
That chick is a riot…Glad I watched..
You're right , funny and sad…
"No Representation Without Taxation"
I know it is backwards but, you no pay you get no say on how it is spent.
“Welfare's purpose should be to eliminate, as far as possible, the need for its own existence.” – Ronald Reagan
And every election the unions and Soros' foundations round up thousands of people just like her and "guide" them who to vote for as they dump them off in busloads at polling places.
I just hope we have the numbers
I agree whole heartedly. TPM should know no age, sex, race, creed or culture, only principled people who want this country to survive as the leader of the free world, the last bastion of real freedom of the individual.
Minds out of the gutter people:)….….I was only trying to express real admiration and a little comedy.
Anita, You are my Hero! May God bless you and keep you safe.
“The silent majority can no longer be silent.”
How about voting for your candidate to prove that you are the majority then?
That's usually how things work in politics.
This is what needs to be done, folks.
Get to an American Majority training session if you can. If you can’t, do it the old-fashioned way — find and get to your local GOP committee meeting ASAP and “learn the ropes” how it’s done in your locale. Learn more here:
http://www.theprecinctproject.wordpress.com
Do you know the geographic boundaries of your precinct? Even know what one is? I know the numbers of voters of every party in my precinct and where they live. How do I know this? Because I’m a precinct committeeman. Which gets me access to the Voter Vault system, which I can use to better canvass my precinct, along with the other 7 elected precinct committeemen in my precinct. Our precinct, Tempe 59, is about a mile on a side and mostly residential.
I learned all this by going to my committee meeting and asking questions. I called the Maricopa County Republican Party, asked where my local committee met, went to the meeting, and said, “I want to become a voting member of the Party — how do I do it?” They explained the process and I did what they told me to do.
I also learned our County GOP web site was awful. So, I sent an e-mail to all the conservative PCs I knew and asked if any would volunteer to improve our web site. A few months later, we had a new and improved web site:http://www.maricopagop.org
Becoming a PC in AZ is not hard, nor is it hard in any state. In Arizona, you have to get 10 or fewer signatures on a nomination form from registered Republicans or independents in your precinct. Precinct committeemen elections happen in even-numbered years. The Party supplied me with a map of my precinct and a walking list. Getting the signatures this election cycle took all of 45 minutes. Had to fill out an Affidavit of Qualification and have it notarized. The Affidavit just says I live in the precinct and I’m a registered Republican. The Party then turns these forms into the Board of Elections. Then I stand for election in the August 24, 2010 primary. I and 7 other Republicans in my precinct can then represent the Republican voters in our precinct INSIDE the Party at the monthly committee meetings. And we get to vote for the Party leadership. Indeed, each of us will be qualified, theoretically, to make it all the way to the RNC membership. No dues. No required duties. You make of it what you will.
In some states, you don’t have to get signatures, just pay nominal dues, fill out a form or two, and pledge to support Republican candidates. Every state has a different system. Do you know yours?
These past two years, by attending the monthly Party committee meetings, the county conventions and state conventions, and other Party meetings (such as the monthly county committee meetings), I and my fellow precinct committeemen have had an opportunity to meet virtually every Republican candidate — all of whom are vying for our help to get out the vote in the all-important, traditionally-very-low-turnout Republican primary election that will take place on August 24.
The real ball game of politics is played at these Party committee meetings. Precinct committeemen ARE the Party. Want to be a ball player? Want your voice heard INSIDE the Republican Party? Then become a ball player — a Republican precinct committeeman. Because anything else is just shouting at the ball players from the bleachers. Those are the facts.
Plus, it’s fun! And you’re almost guaranteed a slot, as HALF these slots were vacant nationwide in the Party as of Election Day, 2008. Indeed, virtually no elected Republican will tell you that conservatives (or RINOs) could effectively TAKE OVER the Party at the grass roots if they UNITED and INVADED the Party to occupy every vacant precinct committeeman slot. (It’s called precinct captain in some states, associate in others — the nomenclature isn’t important. What’s important is precinct committeemen elect the Party leadership.) Why won’t they tell you that? Because they’re TERRIFIED we’ll do it — and mabye toss them, and their friends in the Party leadership, out on their ears in the next primary election and Party leadership elections.
To learn more, go here: http://www.theprecinctproject.wordpress.com
Thank you.
ColdWarrior, PC
Conservatives, UNITE! CHANGE the Republican Party and save the world by UNITING INSIDE the Party as precinct committeemen. NOW!
Thanks for the information. I did not realize this about Anita. She is to be commended for her integrity.
Ralph, first off, love the logo! Sox fan for life
I'd go door to door in a heart beat – let me know when and where and I'm there!
What I'd really like to do is this – have a video at a polling place, and figure out how to get enough people to follow some of these folks and see if they go across town and vote again, under mickey mouse or donald duck
How hard can it be to catch these paid tools at their game, double triple voting, THIS is the criminal behaviour that HAS to stop!!
You got it, and then they pile back into the bus and take them to a different polling place! They steal elections, since it's the only way they can ever put a joke like franken in office -
We have the numbers, remember, obama was NOT a landslide, not even close! This country is still made up of decent and hard working moral people, it's just the astro-turf idiots that get on the MSM to make it appear as if THAT is the majority, we KNOW it is not!
how bout you stop stealing elections and putting brain dead idiots like franken in office, deal?

After Ronald Reagan left office, his stature is, if anything, greater than ever. One of the best-loved American Presidents in history, he is remembered the world over for his crucial contributions to the spread of democracy, free trade, nuclear disarmament and human rights. But nowhere is his legacy more cherished than in the United States, where millions remember the sense of pride, confidence and love of country that infused the Reagan years. Even those who disagree with his politics cannot forget how his decisions and stubborn will revitalized the economy and lifted the spirits of a nation.
Keep the faith, and God Bless America
I should have said ALL interest groups, which would include unions!
The right [honest conservative] candidate, won't cost much money to get elected.
Massachusetts?
New Jersey?
I think we got it covered-if we get off our buttz!
If only we could find someway to get rid of progressivism permently, since it ruined our country twice already and continues to be a cancer that just wont go away.
Although this party does sound good, since we need a true party that will actually hold to its values and not give in like that other two parties do now. In recent years, I was never impressed with either side and they become so much alike, that voting for either would lead to the same. Like in the presidental race, both McCain and Oboma were pretty much the same in alot of policies.
Just hope this new movement goes well, and we can kick the progressives out of office and out of this country.
Great game plan, for all of U.S. conservatives. They will use Alinsky, and we will use this come November and let U.S. oust all of the Liberal/Progressives. It is about life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
God Bless America
I've been meaning to tell Anita that while I am deeply sorry for the ACORN blowback that brought you to us, but, damn, are we lucky!
“In 2005, Anita joined the Strategic Writing and Research Department of ACORN Political Operations and its affiliate Project Vote.”
“In 2008 she came forward to expose the damage that ACORN has done to the impoverished and marginalized communities, as well as its rampant voter fraud, and gained notoriety as the ACORN whistle blower.” (From her Bio)
In 2010 she informs me via BG of the Post Party Summits and how they are about “moving from protesting to implementation”.
I ditto Sybil.
And Anita…….no…. there is nothing in my pocket…..I am glad to see ya!
The grave of progressivism is being dug. Services begin in November.
I agree….Anita, you are one brave lady!!

"For in a Republic, who is "the country?" Is it the Government which is for the moment in the saddle? Why, the Government is merely a servant- merely a temporary servant; it cannot be its prerogative to determine what is right and what is wrong, and decide who is a patriot and who isn't. Its function is to obey orders, not originate them. "
Mark Twain
Thank you Anita. You are a treasure.
I would only add that what we also need is for all of us to get every politician who says one thing and does something else the quick exit he/she deserves. Many of those who voted for Obamonation did so on his spoken position which as we have come to see was a complete lie! 53 to 47% is not a landslide and the difference statistically could be shown to be completely due to the lies about what his goals would be if elected. Character does matter!

Great article Anita!!!!!!
Keep it going……..Journalism is NOT DEAD……….it is the MAIIN STREAM MEDIA that is DEAD
So, let me see if I understand this correctly: the Tea Party is going to become a P.A.C.? Yeah. Nothing could possibly go wrong there! Just look at the AARP or the NOW movement and how they've been taken over by progressives. The TPM already has a substantial percentage of 3rd Party advocates and assorted "birthers", "truthers" and other assorted paranoids. No way the ineffective Progressives (that have been working on destroying this country for over 100 years) will ever infiltrate and subvert this group!
All I can add is that EVERYONE involved in this had better be educated to the highest possible degree about progressive tactics and be constantly vigilant to guard against that from happening. I personally believe that the current incarnation of the TPM is it's best defense against the proglibs and NWO crowd. If everyone is their own "leader" then there is nothing to infiltrate. And it keeps us all discussing the issues constantly. That is how it used to be and that is our best defense. The proglibs are forced to win us over one at a time…an impossible task for them. They may force their agenda on us but they will never convince us to accept it as good and correct if we all stand together in our separateness.
I am registered for the Summit taking place in Kansas City May 7-8. I AM looking forward to it……We need to begin to do the serious ground work of reclaiming our nation. I have attended several Tea Parties and consider myself a Tea Party member, but I intend to be more action-focused for these midterm 2010 elections. These events are only $50 and are well worth the money.
Finally a rising in America that is not controlled by foreign powers, in which the narrative is American and love of Country is not ridiculed/outlawed!!! As revealed by the for sale sign on the "New York Times" which is owned by a foreign CULT (Korean), the official government media is controlled by and answers to, foreign powers!!!! No wonder they HATE/DESPISE/BLASPHEME/RIDICULE this home grown/owned movement and attempt to DISCREDIT it by every VILE assertion imaginable!!! They owe it to their FOREIGN leaders/owners, yes they are OWNED…. Like the PUNKS they are/deserve to be!!!!
We've already been doing this out in the Chicago suburbs for months. Check out the Joe Walsh for Congress campaign in the 8th. http://www.WalshforCongress.com He was the first Republican in the country to win his primary thanks to enthusiastic support from volunteers in local Tea Party / 912 groups. It was a six-way race, with the media and party insiders all endorsing other candidates, and he won by a 10 point spread. We're well on our way to knocking off incumbent Melissa Bean in November (D). Adam Kinzinger is going to beat Debbie Halvorson in the 11th, and Randy Hultgren will beat Bill Foster in the 14th.

James B is supposed to make it Chi in June,..if you are a Chi girl,……make we can hook up for a couple.
will keep you posted.
This is what the Progressives have been doing for years, except it was all underground. All the radical organizations that have been established that we never heard anything about. It all starts with the innocent title of "Community Organizers." Hmmmmm, does that sound familiar?
This is one of the most important parts of the precinct project's site:
http://theprecinctproject.wordpress.com/category/...
I followed the recommendations, am now a precinct captain, and I am working to take my country back. We are at a crossroads here, folks. We either return this country to being a republic or we succumb to communism. Our current administration and Congress have surpassed socialism. We are staring communism in the eye, and we need to do everything we can to stop it. The Precinct Project is the starting point.
Read the site. Absorb it. Understand it. And do it.
Right on! When I entered college in the fall of 1980, I was a dyed-in-the-wool Democrat from a very long line of same. It was frightening to plan for a very, very uncertain future as our economy crumbled into recession. I voted for John Anderson and wept when Reagan won. I was sure the apocalypse was upon us.
After graduating in 1984, I voted for Reagan. I saw what he was able to do for our country, and I was amazed and grateful. I was even more grateful as he stared down the Soviets and did what he could to end the Cold War. Was he perfect? Heck, no. But he loved his country without question and had the balls to make the tough decisions and stand up to our enemies.
I wish we could clone Ronnie to run against Obama in 2012!
