Unhappy Anniversary For Chicago’s Tea Party
by Andrew MarcusToday is the one year anniversary of the Tea Party Movement in Chicago. In some cities the one year mark is a cause for celebration, but in Chicago it’s just depressing, because there is no Tea Party movement to speak of here at Obamamania ground zero.
The internet is a pretty big place, so it’s possible that we have simply been unable to locate any info pertaining to the Chicago Tea Party, but so far, it looks as thought the movement in the Windy City is a defunct corpse.
Whoever organized the original set of Chicago Tea Parties has clearly abandoned the movement for other pursuits.
Is this the future of the Tea Party movement nationwide, or is this a failure specific to the Chicago organizer(s)?
For a flashback to the first Chicago Tea Party from one year ago today, please see the video below:

We will not go away. Chicago can once again be a good city. Until then, the rest of the country can, and will cary the water.

"Tea Parties:
Tea Parties, protest tax revolts whatever you call them you can have them they ARE a waste! Look at how much has changed in one year alone, how are those protests working out for you America? Now calm down and listen as to why. People need to understand the whole purpose of the original tea party; it wasn't a whining get together, a march with picket signs and people chanting silly slogans. It was an action, (covert at the time, they dressed as Indians!) that had legit high impact result at the time to make a statement, as tea was a commodity something of actual value to the British. So the Bostonians dumped it in the bay which was their way at the time to say "screw you" we have a had it! (The Boston Tea Party of 1773 http://www.eyewitnesstohistory.com/teaparty.htm)
The tea parties of today which are because of folks like Rick Santelli on CNBC who called for one in Chicago. BUT what everyone who was inspired by his comments organizing these tea parties missed and hasn't clicked in the minds of the masses that are now holding these modern day tea parties is, Santelli said maybe they will throw "derivative securities" into Lake Michigan in July!
Throwing something of actual value into the bay, destroying something, an action of HIGH IMPACT to the times is what it takes to get peoples attention. So all you tea party organizers you just don't get it! You want to get the “machines” attention? Are you people really serious about this and ready to cross the line?
"They pull a knife, you pull a gun. He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue. *That's* the *Chicago* way!" – "Jimmy Malone" The Untouchables 1987"
Is it possible that whoever was behind this found some futility in it as I argue because they and their followers were not ready to cross that line they have within themselves? The Tea Parties (time to change name to Patriot Party) should be about actual actions, peaceful civil within the rule of law. BUT there are things you can do to affect change; question is as "Jimmy Malone" puts it what are you prepared to do? IMO people are not ready yet and is why this cause in Chicago fell to the waste side.
To my fellow Patriots reading this I ask again what are you prepared to do http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F452KybPEnQ ? This is the question you must seriously ask yourself! Don't play their game… STOP and play your game through http://www.savingtherepublic.com

Chicago I would think is a tough place to launch a TEA party movement
Rick Santelli the unintentional Paul Revere of 2/09, “the Bolsheviks (imperial federal government) are coming!”
Poor Chicago. Except for the present occupant of the White House (The Spawn Of Satan and his petty minions), nothing of value has been produced in this, once great, city in a couple of generations. No production of raw materials, no production of goods, and no innovation or improvement of life for its citizens.
Were it not for its commodity market, which should probably move to Nashville, it has nothing to offer its people, the citizens of Illinois, or the nation.
It is no wonder that the Tea Party Movement has not taken hold as the vast majority of its people send unwholesome politicians that are removed from office by impeachment or sends its criminals to Washington.
A lot of the people there work for the city, and they are
probrably afraid to be caught on tape or something like
that….Those that work for the city may have the best of
intentions until the fear of losing their job jumps in….
And hardly anyone bothered to show up when former Polish President Lech Walesa came to town to endorse Andrzejewski for Governor. The local media ignored it as well. Chicago is lost.
What kills me about the teabaggers is they began the movement T.E.A. Taxed Enough Already after Obama cut taxes for 95% of us.
It made no sense then and it makes less sense today.
The teabaggers are finished but it really was a good laugh.
"Keep your government hands off my Medicare" cried out the teabagger.
Are you lost?
Could someone please direct "anon" to the appropriate web page where he/she can spew this drivel…
Of course it makes no sense you, we get that. With your 'limitations' not much does make sense to you
After all…. 'god anon you are stupid''
Tax Credits are not Tax Cuts. Learn the truth, not what the government redefines and packages for you on MSNBC.
How can you give 95% tax cuts when 50% of Americans don't pay income tax?
Gawd you anons are so stupid.
Like you pay taxes or work Anon..lol and really if your going to stop by and say things with no back up or truth, you could at the very least keep us entertained and stay consistent. Would a "God you people are stupid" be to much to ask for? At least when you say that you're telling the readers what you are and how you were made. If you told us your height we may be able to determine how high you can stack s***.
Tax credits are most certainly tax cuts. If you paid $400 in taxes under George Bush you paid $0 under Obama for the same income.
And this isn't a tax cut?
God you people are stupid.
wow he said it while I was typing this msg..lol to easy
Chicago even screws up Pizza!
Socialism is a fraud and doesn't work. Global Warming is a fraud. The stimulus is a fraud. Chicago is a fraud and that's why it is a failed City-State, like Detroit.
The TEA Party members probably got jobs, got smart, and moved to human friendly state like TN or TX.
.
What kills me about socialists is that they still believe their own lies. It's like a religion to them.
Socialism is a fraud and a lie and doesn't work. Global Warming is a fraud and a lie. The stimulus is a fraud and a lie. Chicago is a fraud and a lie and so is it's favorite son, Obama. Chicago is a failed City-State, like Detroit.
"I just want to redistribute the wealth" cried out the socialist liar.
.
And what I understand is we have to pay back the "tax cut" this April!!!
The sad part is that there are too many people in this country who have a tax burden of $0.
I pay a shi!t ton of taxes every year, so don't come here and preach about tax cuts.
Obama's tax cuts were a joke, and they were nicely augmented by tax increases in several other places. And just wait until Obummer passes his health care bill… more taxes!! YES!!!!
GOD, you're so superior and much smarter than everyone here!
Chicago:…..1/3 White……1/3 Black….. 1/3 Latino
There is really no need to ask why Blacks and Latinos are not Tea Partyers,…..as for the White folks…..
90% of them are Democrats with a capital D who either work for the state, county or city
I had to go 20 miles out of the city (New Lenox) to join a party…. its hopeless here….
"I just want to redistribute the wealth" cried out the socialist liar.
sorry, i have to correct you
"I just want to redistribute YOUR wealth" cried out the socialist liar.
From what I know… You're right, the person who was the original organizer moved onto other things and didn't leave anything behind in a usable shape for others :/
I have to agree. I lived in Chicago for a year. One of the first things I set out to try once their was the famed Chicago style pizza. What a gooey disappointment. We have better pizza here, in DAYTON, Ohio, for crying out loud!
I did enjoy Ed Debevic's, though. And Goose Island is a fine brewhouse. That said, I couldn't wait to get out of there.
People in Chicago, or for that matter the whole state of IL. do not need some stupid new 3rd party name. Just get off your dead asses and stand up, speak up and take your state back from the lying ,crooked politicians that give your state such a rotten reputation. Vote them out!.
The Chicago Tea Party movement is far from dead. A simple Google search revealed that they, like most cities, are simply moving the date of the 2010 Tea Party, to….. shock, shock, Tax Day, April 15th.
No. You don't have to pay it back you simpleton.
Are you really that stupid?
Extremely limited target Tax Credits that you have to jump through legislative hoops to get and have to qualify for first to get. You are like the guy who points out the 'deals in a store' after they jack up the prices on every item and then cut prices dramatically on a few select goods that nobody wants. Then screams at everyone who is pointing out the higher prices "You are too stupid to understand that the store cut prices for 95 percent of us." No. We are smart enough to know that the claims are bull crap when you look at the total picture instead of those few bits on the edge that people like you want to claim is proof. Go peddle the snake oil to people willing to buy it Anon like yourself. And The Term is Tea Partier unless you want to start being called the Teebaggee.
I am a douche bag who ruins everything
A$$non- From the left leaning LA Times-
"For more than 15.4 million people, the Making Work Pay tax credit enacted as part of the $787-billion economic stimulus package could turn out to be a Making You Pay Back tax credit."
How could you be such an idiot? Can you not read?
BMartin says: "(1) The Tea Parties should be about actions, peaceful civil within the rule of law.
(2) BUT there are things you can do to affect change.
(3) IMO people are not ready yet and is why this cause in Chicago fell to the waste side."
(1) The Tea Party rallies have been peaceful, civil, and within the rule of law.
(2-3) Don't keep me in suspense any longer. What are your unnamed, specific things that will push the Tea Party movement to greatness? And, why don't you lead the charge?
I've looked at your blog, and it is probably just me, but I didn't find the specifics of your positive program.
Glad I am not the only one that thinks the Chi pizza is made backasswards.
"Extremely limited target Tax Credits that you have to jump through legislative hoops to get and have to qualify for first to get"
You are an idiot. Jump through hoops? You only need to earn less than $250 thousand. And 95% of us qualified.
God you people are stupid.
"Obama's tax cuts were a joke"
$250 BILLION in tax cuts are a joke? Astounding ignorance.
God you people are stupid.
" … so far, it looks as thought the movement in the Windy City is a defunct corpse."
But … but … I was under the impression that The Dead were a huge factor in Cook County politics !
Have I been misled ?
Weird, my tax return was down about $400 bucks since I had to pay Obama's withholding reduction back, but then again, I am one of those rich guys making a 5 figure salary…
On the bright side, I got a raise at the beginning of the year and nearly 60% of my increased wages is going to taxes. Thank god, I was worried they might take all of it.
NY pizza FTW!
May a flush of Life, Liberty, & the Pursuit of Happiness, come over Chicago. Life is better when free, & if we can get that back in more of America, eventually, the free life will catch on.
Throw down your binds of tyranny Chicago, & throw down your binds of disregard of our U.S. Constitution, all of America. It is the people, the human soul that makes us strong and vibrant, not an oppressive government, like democrats would have you believe.
It is us, the people, who rule the world. Infinite life & Liberty be only ours.
Ouch, I thought all we had left was the good pizza
I grew up on the southside of Chicago when the original Mayor Daly was still running things. It appears that over the last fifty years the people of Cook County and most of Illinois have neither wised up or found the courage to break away from the tit of government.
The Tea Party Movement in Illinois is by no means dead. I've attended 3 since last year in Bloomington, Il and more are on the way. We are now busy trying to elect people with common sense. Yep..I know it's hard to believe…but there are people like that in this state. Stay tuned……
Funny I think that the tea parties have been a resounding success. The first step has begun. The people are waking up. I know it feels as though time is running short… but we still have enough to do this right and peacefully. I do believe it is happening.
Do you smoke? My brother in law does. He got one of your so-called "payroll tax" cuts… and gives back FOUR TIMES AS MUCH in new cigarette taxes.
The good news is that it FINALLY woke him up to the fact that Obama and the Dems are robbing him blind as much as Bush and the Reps were.
Now, when will YOU wake up?
Over here in the 'other' Illinois, 9-12ers are alive and well.
http://centralillinois912project.com/
The Liberty movement is not going away, no matter how many wish it would. It is taking many forms and may be called many things accurately, like 9-12, Tea party or OathKeeper etc, but dead is not one of them.
Wanna gauge how Illinoisans view the desire for government to respect and defend freedom instead of trample on it? Look to Springfield on March 10th. Heck, come participate. Come see many different groups stand side by side in solidarity for Individual Liberty. http://igold.isra.org/
They're not tax cuts if the right hand is giving them out while the left hand is in your wallet…
Everyone on here knows which one of us is stupid, and it ain't me…
Chicago is a shithole anyway, let them have it…………………………………
The tea partiers are back to working, looking for a job, or running a business and are too busy to protest. The silent majority has spoken and made its point.
The next time we'll hear from the Tea Party is at the voting booth in 2010 and 2012
Snap out of it man!!!!
" … so far, it looks as though…… the movement…….. in the Windy City…… is a defunct corpse."
How bout that?
Way to go STEVE we're with ya.
Looks like you have a tougher job than some.
lol…you just made me spit up my pop thanks…..
As a New Yorker ( Brooklyn born and raised) I will agree. But I have to say one thing. If you ever find yourself in Chicago go to Gibson's Steak House on Rush St . You will not be disappointed.
I guess I'm in the 5% that didn't get a tax cut and that 's funny, because I am nowhere near rich. I NEVER owe taxes and have a very basic one income, single person calculation….no property, savings, etc. For the first time ever I owe $546 dollars in Federal tax!!!! I am not pleased about this as I am paying off my debt and am on a tight budget. The only thing I can think of is that this is that extra money we were given each week as some sort of tax break and now they want it back, plus a little extra!!!!! OBAMA…YOU LIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is that you, anon?
Thanks, kooz. Maybe tougher than some, but that just means we'll work harder, or I'll end up in the Chicago River, one of the two.
And you conveniently don't address the NEW TAXES that have been imposed.
God you're a huge douche.
you have to pay taxes on it.
We are out here working, sometimes 7 – 7 and STILL doing our meet-ups, growth, educating, growing & learning more and more people are coming to our monthly and on demand meetings to standing room only and larger rooms for events.. You will hear us 2010 and 2012 BUT we are Alive and Well here in ILLINOIs and beyond, from sea to shining sea. So surfer keep surfing and hope you get ther right goods!
Dang, true. One piece weighs about a pound.
Pass, and I've eaten Chicago style at the downtown Uno's, the originator, the real deal.
Hey Anon, you are going to pay the same taxes on income even though your payroll tax went down. This means you had less withheld ass hole! not that you are getting it for free!
Hang in there Steve, I'm coming up to Chicago in June and despite the graft and corruption I love Chicago.
We are alive and well in Illinois! West Centeral Illinois has had 4 + Participate in parades, monthly meetings which are growing and expanding because of needed space, attend all the local government meetings! This country is the USA and we are going to see the 'cream rise to the top' and 2010 – 2012 AND keep on being here. Americans will not fall asleep again! God help us all and to HIM be the Glory!
WE in Mid Western Illinois are wide awake! Wise! Educated! Growing with more and more all the time to become engaged in seeing this remain the U.S.A and not adding any other 's' to our intitals! New one runnning in local office and know that is taking place throughout the state as well. Maybe you might be a future alderman in your own back yard ……………………that is should you be for stop the spending / smaller government and those Conserv. values and what home town USA needs to keep her fiscally accountable.
Am I paying for YOUR mortgage? Sure sounds like a possibility!
Let us get the FAIR TAX and then we will get the likes the illegals, the drug kings , the prostitutes and all that DON'T participate in paying their tax's !!! Then we can get rid of the corruption of BIG GOV- too!
You really must be smokin' some wild stuff if you think you got those 'cuts' and your laughing your self silly if you think WE are a laugh!!!!
PITY another JOKER!!!!
Thanks, James. Look us up in June. We'll still be here….and it will likely only be about 45 degrees.
lol! I'll be waiting for Global Warming to warm it up – up there.
(I've spent some blistering summers up there – a dip in the Kankakee River always fixed that though.)
When the goons with sledgehammers come to your door and bust your knees, hands, legs, and gouge your eyes out, you can't run a TEA party anymore. Not that I'm sure that happened, but it's very likely it was threatened. Chicago is SO corrupt that even that which has no political threat, but just threatens rule by mob, will get the ire of the mob. Besides, Obama's from there and no doubt between him and the mob there, they can find any number of ways to "end" a movement.
We are all out here in the real world, working, paying taxes, taking care of families…..and…..slowly but surely building our TPM base, you know, like a community organizer would do. Don't let them doubt that we are here! Go Chicago Tea Partiers!
So don't wait for somebody else to organize it. Do it yourself.
Born and raised in Chicago, traveled all over the country because of
my husband's Navy career….I had pizza all over, and I have to agree
with you cpdet….We still have one of the best pizza's in my opinion…
The thick pizza is called the "Chicago style", but we always ordered the
thin pizzas….
Now, I haven't lived in Chicago for 30 years,
so their pizza would have had to changed drastically….I lived near an
Italian neighborhood, and I salivate for their beef sandwiches, Italian
sausage sandwiches, and their pizza!!!
Hi Steve, I'm an ex-Chicagoan, not by choice, but by my
husband's career….I'm so glad to hear there are people
like you willing to fight for Chicago and the USA….Good
Luck!
I was at the New Lenox, IL (New Lenox is about 30 minutes south of chicago) and there were over 10,000 of us in force. There are plenty of Patriotic Americans around the Chicagoland area, give us some credit.
Great news Steve, thank you for the hard work, this sure makes anon look stupid.
Get video and pictures on line of your party. The MSM won't say anything good about you folks if they mention you at all.
Will Chicago become the next Detroit?
BMartin and GACE, first casualties of the 2nd Revolution? Uh, guys, I don't think we're there just yet.
As a matter of fact, everytime I hear of people getting in an uppity mood to foment armed or unarmed insurrection I think "are you f'ing kidding me"? The FF's only went to armed rebellion AFTER all, and I mean ALL other venues were exhausted. To say the FF's jumped at the first chsnce to engage in armed rebellion is revisionist history.Even George Washington belatedly submitted to action. We may get there, who knows? But the time is not now, to argue the point is simply asinine. However, if you two wish to proceed, have fun stormin' the castle! ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Hanzo
How f*cking stupid are you? Using your own "info", if 95% of Americans don't pay taxes, who does?
Dipshit, that means 5% of top wage earners are paying virtually ALL of our taxes? That's Fascism, asshole! How in the hell can our economy flourish if only the top 5% of people, who BTW, would own almost all of the business interests in the country, are the only ones paying taxes? Most of the newer taxes are "hidden taxes", jerkwad. These taxes are passed on in the form of paying higher prices on everything from gasoline to food.
Damn are you not only stupid, you're beyond ludicrous!!
Why don't you project some more about "tea-bagging", you pervert. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Hanzo
Steve, we wish you and all the fine Constitution loving folks of Illinois much success. Anything that changes the "Chicago way" landscape of corruption will be greatly appreciated. How symbolic and ironic it would be to see the likes of Obamao, Emmanuel, A$$elrod and Jarrett take a beat down on the home front. God Bless America.
I always get my philosophical guidance from movies, too. Ditto my dialog. Right now I'm partial to "Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no substitute for a good blaster at your side."
I was there Labor Day 2009………..if there were not 10,000 there, there weren't any.
I'll have to agree with you when it comes to Italian Beef subs. They were great.
not even if we tried……… our lake front????
will compare it with anything anyone else has in this country.
Carsons'-the place for ribs.
Other than that, I'll never go back. Ya'll come down to the big easy. We got plenty good food, and the Superbowl Campions. just sayin'
Have a party of about 15 set up to go there Stevie see ya at the Fed. Center.
I think that most amazing thing to come out of this had nothing to do with the tea parties and started in Utah, http://icaucus.ning.com/. Are you serious about change? It is going to have to start at the local and state level, TODAY. Here in CA we are change we want. We are going to get rid of Boxer, Waxman and Davis. Big Hollywood's own Ari David is being vetted by icaucus and Chuck DeVore has their endorsement.
Videos are great, but WHAT are you doing? Join icaucus, BE the change.
I'm not quite sure I understand your comment… care to clarify?
I was saying that, as far as I know, you had to pay taxes on the "extra" $6 or $13 people got as a tax credit or whatever the hell they were calling it. Its quite possible that i'm wrong.
As far as you paying for my mortgage… Last time i checked, I was the one writing the checks, and the checks were linked to my bank account… and its been like that since i bought the house when i was 23. But, again, i'm not too sure what your comment is all about.
I can tell you that around here the Truthers, Birthers, & Ronulans tried a takeover and it turned a lot of folks off who were active and committed. Most folks don't want anything to do with fringe wackos. So we lost engineers, MD's Veterinarians, small business owners and the like.
Not anymore. Carson's has changed a lot in the past few years. I don't know who they outsource their food preparation to, but their au gratin potatoes (which used to be amazing) now look like Cheetos (because of the artificial colors) and the quality of the meat has gone down too.
Actually, Mr. Marcus, the TEA Party is alive and well here, and we missed your attention a few weeks ago during our primaries. We would have loved the attention from you and others — as well as the moneybombs that went to other candidates. Instead, we had to fight our own battles against some really entrenched machine politicians, and even so we managed a few wins. I'm sorry our version of a Republican candidate for the Senate is Mark "Cap and Trade" Kirk, but we couldn't beat his money. It would have been great to have some support. Maybe in 2012? Until then, trust us, we're fighting the good fight here in the homeland of the Chicago Way. Eliot Ness ain't got nothin' on the TEA Partiers!
Be patient friend. There is a lot of work to do and it will take time. Turning back the clock on liberalism will not happen overnight.
How can you cut taxes for 95% of people when almost half do not pay taxes? His tax cut for me was like an extra $12 on my paycheck. Next time think before you type and get your facts straight, oh wait, never mind liberals don't use facts only feelings.
Excellent point about Andrzejewski, TR3. ABC (Channel 7) didn't even identify President Walesa, although he was present on the podium depicted in their (semi) coverage. From the radical-media perspective, that made sense — since Chicago has the largest Polish population of any city outside of Poland, and wider awareness of Walesa's visit on behalf of Andrzejewski should have, and likely would have, resulted in a high turn out for him. The early-February Primary date, of course, was intended to produce a low voter-turnout, which favors Democrats and incumbants.
Hi Ben, I grew up a block away from old Daley in
Bridgeport…Made my Communion and Confirmation
with the present Mayor…The people in that neighborhood
for the most part were city workers….They aren't going to
bite the hand that feeds them…That's why the corruption
is tolerated…No one wants to take a chance and lose
their jobs….It's like Obumble is doing, padding the
Federal payroll with lots of leeches….It's amazing how
they get people dependent on them and then tell the
people they can't live without them…
lol R.Swift…anon makes himself look stupid!
Anon,
I earn well over $250K. I grew up very poor, my father was an alcoholic and I didn't even know who my mother was. I worked very hard and made my way through life. Now I have three great children and a loving wife. People like you are the first ones to complain about their life circumstances. Somehow it was the BIG what every company that kept you down! Quit complaining, quit trying to get something for nothing, quit crying wolf every time you don't get your way. Life is difficult but you make is worse when you depend on someone else to provide for you. I hope your life changes direction and you find some satisfaction.
Learn the difference between payroll taxes and income taxes.
Obama. Cut. Taxes. For 95% of us. $250 BILLION DOLLARS.
God you people are stupid.
I think some folks might just grow weary of raising their voices, calling attention to problems, and voicing well-founded discontent, only to realize time and time again that the powers that be aren't listening…or caring. What it comes down to, and what I think Americans feel in their gut, is that the problems run deep and the solutions begin with us as individuals. America was founded by great leaders with great principles, and good moral people would use their freedom responsibly and not cede it to a government that goes unchecked. I think that's where the 9/12 Project separates itself from the Tea Party movement and might just be where American's find they must turn once all other avenues are exhausted. Through the 9/12 Project folks discover those lost values, find positive ways to reclaim them, and hold both themselves and their leaders accountable. If you check out http://www.centralililnois912project.com and you will see just how folks are beginning to rely on themselves and the promise of America.
I think you are right. There are many who want to criticize but far fewer who are ready to get their hands dirty and do the work.
I hear so many people complain about the public school system, but how many people are willing to roll up their sleeves and do the hard work of home educating? Or downsize a home in order to swing private school tuition? Nope. Instead I only hear excuses of why "I could never stay at home with my kids." Huh?
No, I am afraid we are still lazy and just want to complain and have someone else fix the problem.
It should be obvious by now that they are not afraid of us anymore. They know time is running out and this is their chance. So each of us have a choice to make? Will we make the necessary sacrifices to make a change in our own corner of the world? Or will we go back to watching American Idol and swallow hard about losing our freedoms? Will we be selfish and think only of ourselves, or will our progeny motivate us to get out and fight?
It's your choice American conservatives. The time is now. The job is ours.
I am too busy making plans to exit Illinois to attend a tea party – got to get out before the new taxes come into play.
News of the death of the tea party in Chicago has been greatly exaggerated. We’re celebrating the one year anniversary of the first Chicago Tax Day Tea Party with a rally at noon on April 15 in Federal Plaza. Over the past month we’ve been working with like minded groups across the city and state to not only help organize the rally, but to build an organization that is sustainable after April 15 to help educate voters, walk precincts, make phone calls and get out the vote for candidates that pledge to support and defend the constitution.
We’re going to have nationally known speakers, local liberty activists and regular Americans who’ve made a difference over the past year take the stage – including people you already know.

What kills me about the teabaggers is they began the movement T.E.A. Taxed Enough Already after Obama cut taxes for 95% of us.
They didn't believe the lie and that pisses you off, doesn't it… jharp.
If you're going to hide behind a different handle, you really need to stop using the same lines you used all over the blogosphere.
Liberty was murdered in the Land of the Wild Onion by the Daley machine.
They may need to work underground but someone needs to take charge. If the TPM's needed anywhere (and it most certainly is), it's needed all the more in Chi-Town.
You're like the sexist always yelling "sexism!" or the racist always yelling "racism!". Stupid is as stupid does, right Gump?
You really should show more respect to the taxpayers who support and subsidize your existence. It's not our fault that your chosen profession of Welfare Queen didn't pan out as expected. Life's a bitch, eh?
If you want to throw your valuables into a body of water go ahead, put it on youtube I'll watch.
Right now I'm content to wait until the election, things are calm now but I think this summer will
be known as the summer of discontent.
If the election doesn't change things then things will be different.
anon
Precisely how much where your taxes cut this past year, $ amount?
I make well under $250.00 and mine where not cut 1 dime!
The real IL tea party was our primary election a few weeks ago. Independent non [bipartisan] machine candidates won in several GOP contests….for governor, lieutenant governor & in several Congressional districts. These are people who embody 'tea party' values of limited government, fiscal responsibility & trustworthiness, while working within an established party. For example, a young conservative named Joel Pollak is challenging my Congressleftard Jan Schakowsky. Also, we could very well have a Republican governor a year from now.
Moreover, Dem Alexi Giannoulis (running for Senate against GOP Congressman Mark Kirk) is weakened by mob ties & other scandals. Incumbent Gov. Quinn is looking weaker & weaker as budget woes mount.
Meanwhile, the trial of former Gov. Rod ("it's bleepin' golden") Blagojevich is scheduled to start in a couple of months, wherein the threat of doing time is likely to bring on the squeals about his fellow Dems.
We don't NEED to go stand out in the cold. We've already got the wheels in motion.
That's great news Ralph. Please make sure to say hello.
Thank you, R_Swift!
Of course Chicago is a mess when it comes to our politics. Why do you think Barry didn't stick around? He could have worked his way up. Mayor of Chicago then Govenor of Illinois then he could have ran for President. But he knew this was a sinking ship and he wanted to get on to the business of exporting our mess to the rest of the USA.
You're Welcome!
are u crazy? Obama is getting ready to bury all the working people in taxes like we've never seen. At the same time the Bush tax cuts expire. Get your tax facts straight. Obviously you don't pay them or you'd know what was really going on.
Great comment! I am quite sure that our economy will turn around in 2012, so I believe that there will be at least a temporary change in government in 2010! However, I just heard the our Islamic-trained President is putting "new restrictions"(I'm sure unconstitutional, but that's no big deal when you have the same goal as his Islamic-brothers, the twin-tower bombers!) on our military personnel, which probably foretells bible prophecy: they gave a war and the soldiers refused to fight! I'm hearing this morning that our "elected" Islamic-educated and trained Kenyan President obama will sacrifice congress control to destroy our economy before January 2011! Not to mention that the bible commands us not to elect a "foreigner" to be our leader (Deut. 17:15)! Why would America vote for such a man to be President? It's because the progressives have been planning this a long, long, long time and have been "allowing" only "deceived" followers of the devil, "Lucifer,"(The "one" coming in his own name that you will believe!) to become citizens since at least the turn of the century! Watch for another Spanish Inquisition! Ooch! Did you know the Franco, Hitler, and Muzzelini made concordances with the Pope to destroy both non-catholic "Christians" (I won't go into a Pope in 1520 having the Jewish Messiah's Name changed to honor the highest Greek Deity "Zeus" and came up with "Jesus" (3rd Commandment?)) and also the Greek Orthodox church (By the way, the Man asked to do so for the pope was Petrus Galatinus, a Spanish Priest in the Vatican)! I also understand from the curses of Israel (America and not Judah!) in the Bible, we are having a gigantic Economic Depression, so that 2011 will make the '29 and 30's seem like a walk in the park! WATCH!
heh, heh, heh…………..
Still pushing this line of BS, huh?
You need another trick, pony. This dead horse has been beaten to dust.
Yep.
My dad is the same way. I know he sees the crapola, but he doesn't care because he did very well in Chicago. He worked hard and eventually worked up into management without college. He thinks Chicago is wonderful. Would never leave it. Status Quo is just fine with him. My mother, sister and I can't convince him it sucks. We have always been serious conservative Republican (except, I think they voted for Kennedy in 60, not sure) but never straight ticket voters. One of my brothers got seduced by the dark side during Bush 43. I don't talk to him. Idiot.
Oh, well…………..
It would take something beyond cataclysmic to clean up Chicago.
Thank you for that info!
I am passing it along to the partisans stuck behind the lines.
It's a waste of time and resources to work on Chicago directly. Better to let national politics change it, if that's possible.
It is a political sewer.
Agreed. Additionally, Chicago's economy and business structure is light years more diverse the Detroit's. The DUmmies couldn't kill it if they tried. The burbs are waaaay too affluent for that to happen.
Which is part of the problem.
Sorry, I was not direct reply to you but to ANON who is I would say has never attended a TEA party or worked with them in their local communities. He was the one who was Blasting and laughing at TEA BAGGERS…….and never knew what it was to begin with. He is clueless.
I received the following over the transom from an attorney who was an associate and peer of Michelle Robinson (Obama) at the law firm of Sidley Austin, LLP.
Michele's office was on my floor at the firm and I would walk by it everyday. She was rarely in the office, had very limited work papers in her office, yet apparently was drawing an associate salary while not practicing law, and billing huge hours as is ordinary for an associate. My fellow associates and I worked to 10 p.m. customarily and many times to 2 to 3 a.m., every weekend, meeting the crushing work loads. But Michele never had to do that, which understandably caused a lot of resentment amongst fellow associates. I have no first hand knowledge since it would be a private and confidential arrangement, but the associate scuttlebutt drawn from partner "leaks" was that she was drawing a firm salary while working full time for City Hall doing political fund raising and "special projects" work for the Daley Machine. The word was that this arrangement benefited the firm because many times their real estate clients had city zoning and other legal issues that required city approvals or resolution, so the firm needed to be viewed as on the city hall team and accede to their wishes. So from the very start of her career my opinion is that Michelle was the beneficiary of the nefarious city hall back scratching schemes. As demonstrated by The Obama File, she seems to have benefitted from these "arrangements" her entire professional career. I have my doubts that she did much at the University of Chicago to justify such an enormous salary and have never heard tell of any significant projects she was handling, let alone any accomplishments or major successes in the healthcare field.
Michele at one point did leave officially to work for the Daley Administration, but was already well engaged in political activities during the day and regularly absent from the firm for a lengthy period of time before she left. I can't recall the precise timelines but I would estimate that she was listed as an associate at the firm but not carrying a regular work load for well over one year, maybe even two years before she "left" for the City Hall payroll.
On a personal note, Michele was simply the most arrogant young person I have ever met in my life. She simply would not engage with her fellow associates and apparently viewed herself as superior to them. I personally observed that she would only engage with partners, most notably senior partners. Never a friendly smile or good morning for staff or fellow associates as she walked past them day after day after day. I remember one particular instance where a group of associates and I were chatting at a firm cocktail party and I noted how no one seemed to know Michele but were constantly gossiping about her. The gang just commented about how arrogant and unfriendly she was and never around. I commented that maybe she was just uncomfortable as a Southside girl being around all of these elitist, snobby white folks at a silk stocking firm. So I walked over to her when she was getting hors d'oeuvres and introduced myself as a friendly overture. She gave me a dirty look, literally threw her head back and turned her back on me and walked back over the a group of senior partners gathered around Eden Martin! As if you say how dare you approach me you filthy little underling. I went back to my group of associates friends feeling embarrassed and they just chuckled and said "told ya'." So, Michele was not the sweet or kind person the media would like us to believe. She was an elitist and only was interested in those who could advance her personal interest, not ordinary folks. To this day, that episode was the rudest I have ever been treated by anyone, and there are lot of rude lawyers out there.
I never met Barack, but only heard about him second hand. My fellow associates who were summer interns with him (in '89 I think) described him as very tall, handsome, thin, and amiable but pretty aloof. They commented of his love of basketball and that he was always up for a game and that basketball and politics is all that grabbed his interest at the time. They stated that he did not seem to be interested in practicing law at a big firm and doing the hard and dull work that that entailed, was just drawing his big pay check, that he did not turn work assignments in on a timely matter, was gone frequently, and generally wanted to be a community organizer in preparation for a political career, not as a practicing attorney. As a result, the firm — according to what I was told by people that should know — did not extend him an offer. So as shocking as it seems, our Obama apparently did not make the cut as a summer intern. I suspect that is buried like all written documentation and will never see the light of day, but I do wonder if Obama could produce an offer letter from Sidley? According to what I was told, and this is just second hand, he was not offered a job and was instead sent a regrets letter. This of course is not to say that he could not have succeeded if he wanted to. He is bright and quick, and I would hate to try a lawsuit against him, but certainly not the brilliant legal scholar and committed, talented practicing attorney that he has been portrayed as by the media. He was, and is very much a clever Southside Chicago pol, no more and no less.
According to Wikipedia, Obama was a summer associate with Hopkins & Sutter in 1990, and graduated in 1991 from Harvard. So that would suggest he was a first year summer intern at Sidley in 89', was not offered to return for a second summer, took a summer intern job at Hopkins & Sutter, and probably did not get an offer there either — unless he can account for his time away from legal practice. Hopkins paid a top tier salary, so I doubt that he would turn that down if he was offered it.
Both were kind of odd cases at Sidley, frankly. Regardless of their ethnicity, gender, or other background, all other young lawyers to a person that I met were very committed to making a career at the firm, worked very hard at their projects, worked on honing their craft and were trying to build a reputation within the firm for doing quality legal work and build a career. However, both Michele and Barack came into the firm and were treated very differently and behaved differently, more like political hires who were just using the firm as a political vehicle, getting a blue-chip firm stamp on their resume, and being funded in the meantime. Same basic "arrangement" as Bernadine Dohrn had. She did not do legal work to my knowledge and paying her a salary was simply a deposit in the favor bank to borrow a phrase from Bonfire of the Vanities. Mary A. Dempsey, current head of the Chicago Public Library and husband of super lawyer and Dem pol Phil Corboy, was another political hire. She did not really practice law but simply practiced Chicago politics and drew a salary at the same time. This is what they call the "Chicago Way." Future leaders are not chosen on merit or strength of character but are simply groomed and coopted as appartchniks of the political machine.
My strong sense is that both Michele and Barack Obama are mere empty creations of the Chicago political machine who advanced through the ranks in order to support vested political and economic interests. Who these vested interests were or what back room deals were made, no one will ever know. Barack's background as a "constitutional scholar" is widely acknowledged a being a sham by the true constitutional lawyers and scholars in Chicago. How can you be a constitutional scholar when you have not written a single legal brief on the subject, given a single meaningful scholarly lecture before experts, published a peer-reviewed scholarly articles or treatise? There is simply no "there, there" which is why BHO is so lost when he goes off of teleprompter and seems to be so lost for answers and fresh ideas or even rudimentary knowledge — he is simply the spokesman for these hidden interests and power brokers who espouse a radical far left ideology and delivers the same old tired leftist adages and buzz words. My measurement of him is that is literally the living, breathing and tragically elected "Chauncey Gardiner of the Left." (Remember the scene where the power brokers at the end of the film "Being There" were talking about raising Chance the gardener to the office of the President).
Michelle Obama has been on court ordered inactive status with the Illinois State Attorneys bar from 1993, after only 4 years of practicing law. Many are curious to know what did she do, or didn't do, to acquire this status.
Liberal progressives are like masturbation. Burns up a lot of energy, feels good for the moment, produces nothing of consequence beyond the spurt.
Illinois heal thyself from progressives, thugs, maoists within the demoCrats…America Again: Freedom is really worth it.
Finally someone who knows enough to make a fair assessment of my Todlin Town, thanks Jar head.

Thank you Steve, I've book marked the site and i'll be there on the 15th. I'll be dragging a few people with me. I'ts funny because i've googled chicago tea party and gotten nothing. I was afraid it was a one off. Glad I cruised by Big Gov today.
Debi a conservative city dweller
My son once did a 2 wk seminar in Chicago and he loved the place. I personally love much of the fabulous architecture of the city.
Comes da moose… you have all those nasty dem things living there. It's a bit like a cockroach infestation – you don't see the beautiful marble floors anymore – only the brown moving floor. Sad in a way
No problem, i didn't take offense… i figured your initial reply just got posted in the wrong spot
I wonder if anon is truly so ignorant, or just purposely disagreeable as to cause conflicts here. Whichever be the case, he's not as reasonable a fellow as he would like to believe…. and he's quite a pain in the ass… seemingly on purpose.
Excellent. Thanks, Debi. I just Googled "Chicago Tea Party" and our site was the first one that came up. Must be Obama getting an early start with his Net Neutrality
Yes re post this at the front of the line.
Huh -4 on my post… oh well the price I pay for tough love….
The HC Bill is still in play along with Cap & Trade, the Pres extending the Patriot Act many of you are against etc are these examples of the Tea Party working? Your getting attention but thats about it, enough to be mocked and made fun of as I demonstrate in my newest vid. Fact of the matter remains for DC, the media and special interest groups its still full speed ahead!

Rufus2009, that is interesting. I worked at Hopkins from June 1990 to June 1992 in their Library. I had no idea he was a summer assoc there. I’m the one who ran back and forth to ccll to get all the law reviews before there was heinonline.com(a blessing). If he did any work there I don’t remember him, and the summers spent most of their time in the library doing research or off being wined and dined by the partners. Also almost all summers get an offer, in my 20 years in a lib I can only recall 1 that did not get an offer, so he must have been bad. It really is a small world. Take care.
Thank you, 98ZJUSMC. We really are behind enemy lines. I appeared on Chicago TV Tuesday night. The next day two people at work told me they wanted to join the Tea Party. I've known them for 10 years and had no idea they were like minded.

Excellent there RUFUS!!!!!!
You need to post this as often as you can here, it sure looks like you took a lot of time putting it together….and this thread has been around a while already so maybe a lot of the regulars will not tap into it by now.
I took the time to read it because I know the types these Obamas are and I know it is just a matter of time bebore the truth about these two becomes universal.
Just one little recommendtion,… if you can condense this and still deliver the accurate portrayal of this gal, the better.
I am from the Chicago area and Chicago is made up mostly of liberal;s. I made it to the New Lenox IL tea party and there was at least 10,000 people. It was exciting.
This being Chicago, the tea party organisers are lucky they are not a permanent fixture of a new buildings foundation….
Good morning,
I tried replying yesterday but in never showed. Any way I worked in Hopkins library starting June 1990 to June 1992. Summers generally start in May and go thru August, and at that time kept this clerk running all day long back and forth to ccll, IIT, as well as Sidley (NILS were very popular ins tomes at the time) anyway I got the books, signed them out and delivered to attorneys. I don't remember him at all, granted of the summers he could have spent his time doing things that did not require book runs, westlaw was available then. But I don't remember even hearing the name, it is an uncommon name. I'd like to think i'd remember it. I've heard it said the Media Made him, i'm no conspiracy nut, and there is no longer a hopkins to verify. They were eaten by Foley, how come there are no stories of I remember him when. Strange.
Of course there will be a tea party. How about checking the site: http://teapartychicago.org. Plus, it's on facebook, e-mails been going out, etc. No problem with Chicago. Try to get some facts before printing misinformation.

Remember the "we surround them" slogan of the 9/12 folks? It applies to Chicago. The city itself remains a one-party regime. The state, however, is changing around it. This was a "red state" in Reagan's time, and will be again.
Note the conservative victories in the Republican primaries in the collar counties against RINOs and party insiders, as in the 8th, 10th, 11th and 14th districts. In the 8th District, the Republican turnout exceeded the Democrats by 65-35, as a dramatic reversal of the 2008 victory by the Democratic incumbent by a 60-40 margin.
We may not be out in the streets with protest signs for the news media and politicians to ignore, but we're organizing voters to help conservatives win in November. That's the only thing the tyrants in power will fear. They will laugh at us if we just keep wasting our time on futile protest demonstrations. We have to defeat them at the polls – and we are doing it. In my township, the Democratic incumbent was outvoted 79-21 in the February primary, as contrasted to a traditional split in prior election cycles which is much closer to 50 – 50.
AS soon as the weather gets better it will revive.
Nice site design, love it!
For some reason Rick Santelli is not credited with the Tea Party movement in Wikipedia. I saw him say this live and I had always thought he was the father of the movement.
Obviously you don't pay much in taxes moron – the rest of us hardworking people who have worked for many years and built up a nice bank account certainly do – and quite frankly I am sick and tired of paying for your lazy entitled ass – I'm moving and taking all of my hard earned cash with me – FU Obama worshippers – get a job!
