I have always said that if an individual cannot take 10 to 15 minutes (usually only once or twice in a lifetime) to register they shouldn't vote, If their concern is so little they shouldn't have the right to affect this country. Having worked polling places and voter registration for years I can tell you from my experience that Election Office's have no way of determining if a voter is a citizen or not. The registrant checks a box at the top of the registration form if they are or not a US citizen. That is it. A law was passed federally years ago for a database for all states to use but it was never funded and does not exist. Universal Voter Registration is nothing more than a Saddam Hussein plan of always getting 100% of the vote by those who count. It worked for Al Franken, didn't it. More votes allowed by Dem elections board members than were registered in the precincts.

I search and search my mind and a few things come up invariably… in most other countries where this system has been tried, the educational system is superior in what it teaches. China, Cuba, USSR… yet the same kind of system here involves dumbing down and perverts… The USA has stood for justice all through the world, to establish a NWO, it must be not just taken down, but destroyed and obliterated…. The level of technology in this land and communism is a horrifying combination. If Brown is kept out on this election, this is the last sign of any semblance of freedom left…. All this adds up to yes, only war and blood will remedy the slide into this pit of the unknown…
I think you should have a job to be able to vote, if your employed…………….then you get to vote.
6 feet of good rope would take care of a majority of these issues. If they KNEW, that they would be strung from the nearest flag pole or lamp-post we wouldn't even have to talk about this bunk.
Going all-out for conservatives this fall might be the best remaining hope. But it seems pretty lame under the circumstances.

Rigging the electorate system:this is how Venezuela's Hugo Chavez has held on to power in his country for over a decade..and US Liberals in power, (as we know) LOVE Hugo Chavez's "wonderful" revolution (which has broken his economy, trashed his Constituion , banished their free press and all the rest of their liberties)….What a concept! If America does not stop these corrks from rigging our electorate system they will stay in power even if our entire nations abhors every one of them and their anti-American policies! We all need to STOP this immediately!
As most here already know this proposed bill is just the latest in a long line of steps that our elected "representatives" have taken that prove their contempt for us. Unfortunately, it isn't just one party or just politicians. This battle, and it is a battle, has been raging for decades in our schools and universities, pop-culture centers, workplaces, and government. We have almost this to reach the threshold of inevitability in our march toward socialism and tyranny. Voting this group of politicians out of office won't fix it either. This problem is systemic. We must find a way to get back to our founding principles as a society and the issues of governance will take care of themselves. The first thing we need to dispel is the idea that democracy is the secret to our success. Liberty, the rule of law, and free enterprise are the secrets. It's as simple as that!

My husband receives government money in the form of military retirement, after 20 years of receiving government money in the form of military pay. My brother now works for the fed government after retiring from the Air Force. I certainly hope you don't mean military members or retirees. They have more than earned the right to vote. I can agree with measures like picture id's and paying taxes, but to go too far is no better than what the libs are trying to do.

I just got off the phone with Barney Frank. He actually took my call. For 10 minutes, he swore up and down that he never heard of this before. He promised, once he finishes his research on where this story came from he would have a press release, that he is not submitting such a bill.
Personally, I think he's lying through his teeth. But he took my call.

It always amazes me that someone would spend 25 million of their own dollars to win an election for a job paying 110K/yr. I'm even more amazed that this is possible and not against the law, but I whole-heartedly agree with you, especially going after their families since it is well documented who the recipients of the lobbyist payoffs are. I used to be for term limits as were our founding fathers. All you have to do is read the constitution and see the language pertaining to completing the one term to realize this fact. So now, I'm not for term limits, as there would be only one term! Additionally, if we screw with the Industries behind the lobbyist in the form of huge fines, then maybe, just maybe we can actually have a Governing body of elected officials that truly represent "We the People."

Let it be known that even here in Virginia I feel little representation, especially being from a state with many of the founding fathers as well as one that began the vote back towards the right with our newly-elected Governor. I maintain hope through 11/2010. We'll see how it goes and if the liberal's really want to go against our Constitution. I mean after all, they have been trying to re-write history for years and the FCIC swearing in today ended in "to the best of your ability" vs. "so help me God" Peace and God bless.
