It’s a promotional video for the “Global Progressive Forum”, an event created and organized by the PES.
President Clinton makes his remarks in the beginning of the video. At approximately (3:15) Howard Dean makes an appearance. Toward the end (4:45), the president of the PES talks about the “Global New Deal”.
We are going to learn just how far our leaders are willing to go to continue this “green” charade, despite overwhelming legitimate doubt about the credibility of the source of alarm regarding anthropogenic global warming.
Only people with a political agenda to fulfill would continue to wield the social-moral bludgeon of man-made global warming despite the apparent corruption of its rationale revealed thus far.
Copenhagen should, therefore, provide us with rare insight on the extent of the symbiotic corruption between the scientific and political communities.
What a sad state of affairs for any genuine environmental pollution issues, which have had all of the air sucked out of them by this giant red smokescreen, and are now tainted by association.
Has anyone examined if this axis of corruption held sway on other popular social-science issues? 2nd hand smoke? Trans-fats? Poverty? Violence?

Environmentalists have been the willing patsies for the redistribution crowd. Wealth redistribution will never accomplish the purported goals. Corruption in third world nations will never allow their own people to prosper lest they lose their control. There has never been a food shortage issue that was not tied to corrupt distribution. With 2 branches of Government and a complicit media this is more like a "Pro" wrestling match.
I think it will take something they can't deny, which means something they can't control, which means keep up the pressure until 2010 and get in candidates that are willing to repeal just about everthing and using plain language to do it.
Make no bones about it. The left in general and the modern liberals and democrats in particular, have one, single, unifying theory. Civilization will come crashing down into chaos unless a strong, centrally planned government does what ever is necessary to assert complete control over humanity.
Trust me on this one, I know, I used to be one. The concept of personal responsibility and individual freedom scare the living day lights out of them.
It's not their freedom, and what they would do with it, but its every one else who doesn't agree with them. They do not want people who don't sign on to have any freedom. Raise farm income by 10x, yet only doubling food production, rejuvenating soil fertility without fertilizers, and all the while growing twice as many crops with 70% less water than currently required for half that much.

Agreed, I for one am in the fight and will engage discussions with anyone on these topics. I simply work to help individuals see LARGE bureaucracies fail. They become so corrupt and inefficient they fail, they grind the individual under in the process. I point to the last year as clear evidence of this truth. I point out out it does not matter if it is private or public sector, the results are the same. I then ask, what is better to have a public bureaucracy fail or a private one and then remind them that when a Public one fails, we get taxed or go into deeper debt. With a private failure, we have the ability to choose and not engage it's services and let it collapse.
Few disagree with the premise and follow the logic which leads to the conclusion of a smaller federal government and regulatory structures to mitigate the risk of "to big to fail"

You've verbalized something I've considered for a while. Progressives are so arrogant that they just assume that nations with hardcore Islamist governments will love them simply because they are unlike Republicans. They constantly compromise their standards by ignoring the atrocious human rights abuses that occur in Islamic nations on a daily basis. What's even more interesting to me, however, is the way they embrace these nations and cultures when they are more socially conservative than anything we have here in America. Culture is a brilliant and beautiful thing, something to be cherished and admired for progressives, unless that culture has anything to do with white people from the US.
It would be funny, the way that Iran is responding to Obama's style of nice happy friendly diplomacy, if it didn't have such dire consequences.

Guess what. Until WE THE PEOPLE decide enough is enough and do something about it – nothing will change. We are quickly approaching a major point of inflexion and we need to rise up and save our country and our way of life. Even the appointments of prominent Jews, Rahm Emanuel (chief of staff), David Axelrod (senior advisor), Mara Rudman (NSC/Mitchell's team), Hannah Rosenthal (envoy to monitor anti-Semitism), etc. don't make a difference. They arranged the first ever Seder in the White House, and sent the president to visit a concentration camp. How can anyone accuse these individuals of being "self-hating Jews," when they are members of synagogues, observe Jewish holidays, have relatives in Israel and send their children to Jewish Day Schools?
Because they are "Newest Testament" Jews; Jews who have embraced the new American Jewish religion of tikkun olam [fix the world] liberalism. Tikkun olam is the new overarching mitzva that guides them, even though it was never one of the 613 precepts of the Torah. The founding of Israel and the creation of Palestinian refugees may not have been the Original Sin in their theology as it is to others on the Left, but the settling of the West Bank following Israel's victory in 1967 is definitely viewed by them as Israel's Golden Calf
