Giving Thanks For The Internet
by Andrew MarcusTis the season to be thankful, and this year one thing stands out as something to be particularly grateful for…the Internet.
Thanks to the Internet, and the Army of Davids it has empowered, the mainstream media no longer possess a strangle hold on information. They no longer get to decide what we know about the people and organizations that effect our daily lives.
In direct terms, this means that when SEIU thugs beat up a black conservative at a health care town hall meeting, the whole world gets to see it via the internet.
And when those thugs are outed as Health Care for America (HCAN) coordinated responders to criticism of Obamacare, the whole world can take it upon themselves to learn about HCAN, using Google and other fabulous tools of the internet.
And when the world learns that HCAN is primarily a function of a group called USAction, they can investigate who USAction is using the same fabulous tools of the Internet.
And when the world learns that USAction was founded by DSA-Marxist 60’s radicals named Heather and Paul Booth, they can take it upon themselves to learn more about USAction, like that their president and spiritual leader, William McNary, is a BIG TIME communist sympathizer. And that valuable information can be spread far and wide for all to see, complete with video documentation of the facts, all without the lamestream media being able to sweep it under the rug on behalf of their favored candidates.

In the second clip, USAction President William McNary can be heard delivering the key note address to the Communist Party USA in 2005! Note how thoroughly he identifies with the Communists he is speaking to, always using the term “we”. Note how close they feel to him and USAction.

The internet ties in wonderfully well with man's need to learn more, to satisfy his curiousity. All that is needed is a spark to pique their interest in the government and how it has been encroaching on our lives.

The Internet is a fantastic tool for learning. Granted you have to learn how to wade through the trash to learn where the real facts are at but once you figure it out, the truth and facts are easy to find.

I was having this conversation today with my Dad. Acorn, SEIU, Climategate, The MSM media losing viewers like crazy , the (fill in the blank)… it seems that all of these things are falling apart. Has there been a new rash of scandals and corruption?
No. The scandals have always been there, the corruption, has always been there. The only thing that is new?
The internet. Everything is being brought to the surface at this time in history because the internet is the perfect extension for man's need for freedom and truth, justice… all those good things. Not to spew platitudes, but the internet is the best gift freedom and liberty has ever had. And I believe it is too powerful to even attempt to stop.

Giys, Ken Gladney was selling Gadsden Flags to make a buck, he was not a protester, he is not likely a "conservative activist" as he has been described, he went on a tea party express tour and gave the same canned speech witch did not include a discernible conservative message, just a recounting of him getting his butt kicked .
I haven't heard one conservative thought from Ken Gladney, not in any of his many interviews, I am not saying he needs to be a conservative, and he does deserve Justice. He did not deserve to get beat up for selling those flags. Maybe he will become a conservative now that he sees how liberals treat those who disagree with them.
Ironically the Internet was originally created to protect America from a communist socialist threat. It's working!
Until ACORN and SEIU began showing up in the news a few months ago I was unaware of their existence. Now I wonder how many more of these organizations are out there being funded by my tax dollars.
Agree with ya bro. It's nice to be able to gather your own facts seeing as how that is so important since the MSM is government run.

It appears as though, Carol Marin has made a decision that she no longer wants any information about Dr. Ronald Michael and his pals.
This does not bode well for the state of journalism in Chicago. As many of us know, Dr. Michael is a close friend of Tony Rezko. One of my sources informed me that Dr. Michael’s family met Tony in Lebanon, before he came to the U.S. to live with the Michael family. This story gets better everyday, so you can imagine my dismay that a veteran like Carol Marin would want to be excluded.
Anyone else want out of their responsibility as a journalist?

Dr. Ronald Michael once headed a company that faced more than its share of money troubles. It didn't pay its taxes. And it ended up bankrupt.
But those financial problems didn't prove to be a hurdle when Michael decided to buy a downstate bank.

State and federal officials signed off on the Bourbonnais neurosurgeon's purchase of 73 percent of Arcola Homestead Savings Bank in 2003. And in the past year, the tiny bank has seen a big boost in deposits from public, taxpayer-funded sources.
So how do you go from running a bankrupt company to owning a bank with millions in government deposits?
Michael — who's made $178,390 in campaign contributions to state and local officials and thousands of dollars more to federal candidates — won't say. "I'm not talking about my personal life," he says.
His business troubles involve a restaurant delivery company called Hypermeals Inc. In the late 1990s, Michael started a business that acquired a 70 percent stake in Hypermeals. He personally held a 2.5 percent stake in Hypermeals and served as its chairman.
In 2002, Hypermeals' troubles boiled over. The company filed for bankruptcy that May after failing to pay $34,987 in state taxes. The state filed a second tax lien — for $49,979 — against the company in 2004. Hypermeals still owes the tax man, records show.
Less than six months after the bankruptcy filing, Michael began seeking approval to buy Arcola Homestead from then-Gov. George Ryan's administration. State and federal banking officials gave their OK to the $1.1 million purchase in February 2003, a month after Gov. Blagojevich took office.
Bank regulators won't say if they investigated Michael's involvement with Hypermeals. Nor will they release details of the financial report Michael filed with his banking application. They cite privacy laws.
But records show that, as of June 30, 2006, Arcola Homestead had just $550,000 in deposits from state and local government entities. A year later, that figure had soared to $7.2 million.
FDIC records don't specify where the cash comes from. But the Illinois State Treasurer's office says it has $285,000 in Michael's bank. The most recent deposit came in January 2004, when then-state Treasurer Judy Baar Topinka deposited $95,000 in state funds.
Subsequently, in May 2005, Michael started donating to Topinka's failed 2006 run for governor. In all, he ended up giving Topinka $63,810.
Michael also has given $21,180 to current state Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias, a Democrat.
Topinka and Giannoulias say Michael's contributions didn't affect decisions about his bank. Also, they say they didn't even know Michael was in the banking business, that they knew only that he was a doctor.
Gov. Blagojevich has accepted $47,000 from Michael, including $25,000 on Nov. 23, 2002 — 18 days after Blagojevich won election.
About three months later, on Feb. 28, 2003, Michael won approval to take control of Arcola Homestead. He gave another $20,000 to the governor's campaign fund on July 25, 2003.
The donations had nothing to do with Michael being OKd to buy the bank, Blagojevich campaign spokesman Doug Scofield says.
He claims to be a Conservative. He also claims that he'd decided to give away merchandise on this particular day, just to be a good guy.
I have no problem believing either.

If I had to pick a moment when the "shot was heard around the world", I'd have to pick the Rathergate scandal, when a blogger, armed only with rudimentary tools, used to to verify that the "Bush memo" wasn't a genuine document, but a fake.

Yes and that is why you need to join a local organization instead of just reading and complaining here. My local 9-12 group has all of our phone numbers and a phone tree to call in the event such a thing happens. Organize at the local level – figure out which of your neighbors and friends are similar in thinking. Exchange phone numbers with people you meet at these and other gatherings.

James you are absolutely correct. We need to stay vigilant in these dangerous times we live in. Not since the Cuban Embargo has our Nation and way of life been in such peril. The Marxist FCC is poised to take this New Frontier of the 4th Estate away from us. Net Neutrality will give the internet back to the "people" unless an army of Davids keep after their respective Washington Represantives. We have an Acorn, Bilderberg elected President poised to sell us out in Coopenhagen, in spite of the fact that Global Warming has been officially debunked by honest science info made available on the Net. Once ALL people are aware of what is really going on-they will no longer support MSM. Advertisers of these papers should be made AWARE of and pull their ADDS. It’s a big source of income for these papers. If the people and advertisers don’t support these “trash papers” they will NOT survive. The internet is amazing because anyone can post whatever they want, a researcher, or reporter or anyone who would like to share their political savy with the world, can post whatever they want.
