AP Whitewashes My Public Statement on Whitewashed ACORN Investigation

Pete Yost of the Associated Press asked for my comment regarding the findings of the ACORN “internal investigation.” Here is what I emailed him:
ACORN is a corrupt and criminal organization, and anyone with open eyes can see this. Yet SEIU’s Andy Stern and left wing puppetmaster John Podesta, of the Soros-funded radical leftist think-tank, the Center for American Progress, chose to architect a whitewashed ‘internal investigation’ by a Democrat Party hack from Massachusetts, and have put immense efforts into launching a two-pronged propaganda campaign and legal assault against the filmmakers of the ‘pimp and prostitute’ exposé and the story’s publisher. BigGovernment.com continues to expose ACORN’s illegal activity and has helped to illuminate how corrupt organizations like ACORN, SEIU and HCAN are coordinating the efforts to shove radical health care reform down an unwilling majority of Americans throats.

The report is “a whitewashed ‘internal investigation’ by a Democrat Party hack from Massachusetts,” said conservative columnist Andrew Breitbart, who is being sued by ACORN along with James O’Keefe and Hannah Giles, who played the prostitute and her boyfriend in the videos. Breitbart posted the videos on his Web site.
I wanted the BigGovernment.com readers to see that’s it’s not just the internal investigators who are whitewashing the magnitude of the ACORN scandal, it’s the mainstream media writ large.

How sad is it that I'm not shocked or surprised at all. What's hilarious is that they probably think they can get away with it. Like Mr. Breitbart can't expose this hatchet job for what it is: Democrat entitlement group sycophancy.
This is why it's so valuable for conservatives to have their own outlets like you have here at Big Government.
It would have been a shock if they had quoted you accurately.
Can we trust anyone these days? I say yes. However, we must first determine who is trustworthy.
Signs of trustworthy people.
1) Provide documentation.
2) Clearly distinguish information from analysis/opinion.
3) Analysis/Opinion is logically linked with evidence.
4) Competing/alternative opinion/analysis is acknowledged.
5) Areas of uncertainty are acknowledged.
6) Mistakes are clearly identified and corrected.
I would also add that trustworthy people do not routinely commit lies of omission.

And you know what? I can always count on you to do just that — to come together and stand up for each other.
This year, people were counting on us more than ever. When bankers and newscasters were talking about a credit crisis, you and I knew that for most people, the credit crisis was really a foreclosure crisis. In fact, 2009 was a record-setting year for foreclosures. A stunning 2.9 million families entered the process this year. And the truth is that number would have been even higher if ACORN hadn't stepped in.
I remember Tosha Alberty.
A mother of four young children and a husband with cancer, she joined with the ACORN Home Defenders to fight her foreclosure for three months. Home Defenders mobilized regularly to block sheriff's deputies access to the property, often using their own bodies as shields. On one occasion they even got the locksmith to refuse to change the locks.
That's what this year was like for ACORN — trying to help people keep their homes in the middle of the worst housing crisis in history. And you know something? We're still in the middle of that crisis and my work helping families save their homes is still the most important thing I'm doing.
Let's be honest for a second. When the pundits start doing their year-in-review shows, when they get to ACORN, you and I both know what they'll say. They will talk about scandal and accusation, and they'll rehash propaganda from right-wing con artists and politicians.
But I promise that they will leave something out. They'll leave out what we did to save Irene's home. They'll leave out the dedication of people like you who put themselves on the line for their neighbors.
And the most shameful thing they'll forget to mention is how many more families' homes we could have saved if we weren't constantly under attack.
So I want to take a moment to say "thank you". Thank you for helping ACORN members and staff save as many homes as we did. Thank you for making the time and taking the effort to fight for what is right for working families. Thank you for standing with us during one of our most challenging years ever.
Thank you. With your support we have made it this far and with your continued support we will be able to take on the challenges that are sure to come in 2010.

Regarding that "I remember Tosha Alberty. " story. With so many organizers trying desperatly to help that woman STEAL someone property, it is surprising that they simply did not put together a few bucks each to pay her mortgage.
This defines the real problem with Acorn. It is about organized theft of private property for the 'good' of the community. This kind of activity is a poor example for the young and is doomed to failure.
Meantime, following the thread, the real lesson is that when people are 'clipped short' by a fraud from the old media, there are now more ways to get the truth out! Like this blog!

Dear Americans, I am a European – I will post this comment under the various issues mentioned below. Then withdraw, simply because I will just keep repeating myself.
I came to biggoverment.com due to the fantastic work of James O'Keefe and Hannah Giles. Then a savvy Andrew Breitbart, who helped them bring this to the attention of the American public. I felt ecstatic, for this is what I have wished would happen over her. Sadly the main stream media is even more corrupt then yours. Credit to FOX NEWS for giving Hannah, James and Andrew exposure; we have no FOX, consciously kept off our cable systems. I am not sure that most Americans understand how important 1) the ACORN issue is, in addition to 2) health care (to avoid Obama care); 3) the climate scam (expose Gores as a con artist) and 4) I will add the Islamisation of America, combined political correctness.
In Europe we might already have lost our freedom due to these issues. Because here we have thousands of ACORNS (by passing democracy) funded by government, we have “health care systems” which cost (its not free) through confiscatory taxes, and do not deliver. We do not have free speech, due to immigration from Islamic countries (our government have betrayed us), and the climate mafia can go on in spite of the e-mail exposure.
My point: Young Americans, you might be religious , libertarians or conservatives, BE Inspired by what James O'Keefe and Hannah Giles did – I Love You both + Andrew Breibart and his team. Then be inspired by Michael Moore’s worldwide success – BUT NOT HIS MESSAGE. He is a fraud and a con artist. I know because Moore came to my country (Norway), which he compared with paradise, and I could really understand his corrupt journalistic method. I was born in 1946, and I am an insider “in paradise”. Norway gave Carter, Gore and Obama (not Reagan) the Peace Price, to undermine your freedom.
