Open Invitation to the One Year Anniversary of the Tea Party Movement in Chicago
by Adam AndrzejewskiIt all started in Chicago. Rick Santelli’s call to arms was broadcast from Chicago. The first Tea Party was last year on a cold day in February. I heard you. We need a new generation of leaders that will serve the people, not the political class. My campaign for Governor started because I heard you and I still hear you.
The Tea Party movement is now a year old and what better place to celebrate the movement than in Chicago. We will be at the Dierksen Federal Building plaza at 2:30pm having a rally in honor of the movement and to celebrate all that we’ve accomplished.
I’m also bringing in someone who knows a little something about freedom and just a few decades ago he was fighting in Eastern Europe and Ronald Reagan stood at his side. Lech Walesa will be addressing the gathering to tell us about his struggles.
Illinois has been oppressed by one of the worst Governments in the 50 states, and we have the results to prove it. We are nearly last in job creation and we have are competing with California and Michigan to see which state can chase productive individuals and businesses out of our state.
This is what happens when a state is in the grip of one-party rule, run by an ideology that the entire nation is now calling the “Chicago Way.”
That’s the bad news. Here is the good news. It’s a new day in Illinois. All across the state, citizens are building the grassroots army that will bring Illinois back from the brink. They are getting activated, informed, and mobilized. I want to help them by offering them a real choice – not an establishment echo – for Governor. That ‘echo’ is exacting what I’m running against.
I’m Adam Andrzejewski, and I’m running for Governor of Illinois.

Alright — lovin' it ! More good people stepping forward. Thank you brother. Love Walesa, and Tea Party is also with you Adam.
I am sorry to Walesa and Poland for Obama dissing them by taking the missile shield from them. Shock.
maybe you could get the Chech Republic President here too, he says the global warmers the new fascists.
.
Tea Parties would not exist without the Ron Paul Presidential campaign.
Wish I could come, knock 'em dead!
I'm voting for you Adam. I'm in the southwest Suburbs of Chicago and I'm sick of Mckenna, Ryan, and that Obama-loving Dillard.
Again – I'm voting for you on Tuesday. Please be a real conservative, and don't let us down. Flush the state of these liberals holdin the jobs in this state in their clutches. And for heaven's sake – go after the corruption in Cook county.
I'm praying for you at St. Mary's in Plainfied on Sunday!
voted for you yesterday, good luck
I get to vote for Adam.
I remember watching Rick Santelli real time and it was a breath of fresh air.
Um….yes they would.
Go Andrew! Thanks for bringing Lech to Chicago to speak on freedom. Have a terrific event tomorrow in Chicago. I wish you all the success in the world.
Not to be a wet blanket, but there is less chance of Barney Frank declaring himself to now be a straight, Right-wing Social Conservative than for Illinois to fix it's bad governing. Not only is the state hopelessly corrupt (both parties), the constituents are solidly divided up to vote for their particular brand of corrupt politician so they can keep their personal gravy train running.
Sorry Adam, even in the unlikely event of you winning, nothing will change here. The best we can hope for is starting a movement that will make small changes over the next decade or so until there are enough politicians in place to fight the corruption (assuming they haven't become additional pigs at the trough by then).
Sarah Palin was on Greta Van Sestern's Show tonight on Fox News commenting on the State of the Union Speech and she really made some good points and really lit into the Prez but Greta also asked her about the Tea Party. She will be the featured speaker Next month in I believe Nashville, Tn and Greta asked her what the purpose of the Tea Party is and is it getting less or more popular. Gov Palin said it is getting more popular and the purpose is not to split into another party but to unite the Republican and to guide the party in the right direction. Smaller Government, strong military, less taxation, promote small business so as to help job growth and etc etc. I thought she did a good job, oh, and one more thing, she gets a fee for the event but she is mentioned that the money will be reinstituted into the movement.
Limbaugh's Letter to the Prez
ROFL!
It's been a year already? What a year!
Has Rick Santelli been released from the reeducation camp CNBC sent him off to?
Go Adam, bravo Rick.
Except it is not just about uniting the republicans. it is about all people of all parties (or no party) who feel the same way.
Sarah is being paid 100K to speak there. That made my heart sink.
Thanks for posting that link to Rush.
And I will have the pleasure of casting a vote for Adam.
The pickings are slim on February 2nd. Lots of RINOs.
I hope Lech's endorsement boosts your recognition.
Best of Luck.
I remember the day that Rick Santelli let it all out. It felt kinda like a thrill going up my leg. I turned to my wife and told her there are going to be lots of tea parties (lower case at the time). We had never even protested a day in our lives. We went to three Tea Parties before finding ourselves in the nation's capital for the first time, who could have guessed?
DC was buzzing that day with patriots from across the country. Its been quite a year.
One person can change history.
Hats off to Mr. Santelli.
adam i think you will be a breath of fresh air in springfield. just promise that after i vote for you, you will not show up in a prison, except to possibly visit former gov(s) there
are you leaning toward a lt. guv? i kinda like the plummer guy, he actually had a live person call me instead of the robo calls everyone else has.
also any ideas for senate, mark kirk belongs with dillard, at the future obama library (with attached union hall)
Just heard…buzz is possible RECONCILIATION! Stop it, and inform others like Independents of how terrible it is by MOCKING the ObamaCare's bad policies and health impact. SHARE with all your lists, post on blogs, post on liberal sites, and post on Independent-followed sites.

If Massachusetts can do it; Illinois can too. Never, ever, underestimate the power of a pissed off American.
The Tea Party movement? Is it real? When did it start? In 2009? That's weird because I just got my Time Year in Review 2009 and their was not a story about it, not even a picture. Heck MSM didn't utter those words without laughing until Mssachusetts had a special election. But I digress, the Tea Party movement ?
She is not keeping the money Wanda, she is giving it back to the movement!
The Conservative Edge
You are welcome!
I wonder if they will continue to ignore us on the second trip through the country.
Sorry I can't vote for you Adam. I wish you all the best of luck. I'll be praying for you.
I will attend and I will listen very closely, still have to find out more about Proft as well. This country is being taken apart by evil people hiding behind all kinds of rhetoric and I am so sad to think one day there will be a revolution. I just don't believe people can continue to take it, look what just one year has done.
Massachusetts is merely Liberal. We are utterly corrupt. Until I see any sign that it could change, I refuse to get my hopes up.
They will until you make them bleed (metaphorically). Massachusetts was one step, but the loss in NY hurt because it allowed them to reassure themselves that the Tea Party was not only ineffective, but would in fact cancel out much of the Republican vote. If there is a major change (I'm talking a complete change in leadership) in Congress, then you'll hear a new attitude from the Leftists. It won't be out of respect, it will be out of survival instinct.
Adam, I will be pulling for you and Patrick Hughes (US Senate) next Tuesday. Calling all Illinois readers of Big Government to get your family and friends out there on Tues. Feb 2nd and vote for Adam for Governor, Patrick Hughes for Senate!!!
Patrick Hughes is the conservative in the race for US Senate. Spread the word:

I want to nominate Obama for MVP of both the Tea Parties (without whom they wouldn't even exist) and the Republican Party (without whom they would have ceased to exist). Truly the gift that keeps on giving.

I was sickened watching Dick stand up and applaud BO last night. Right behind the judges. What a tool. We need to get rid of him.
Des, you are somewhat right. I have lived in Illinois my entire life and it has gotten to the point where I am embarrassed of our representation ( or lack of thereof). We need to start somewhere.
The movement was actually started by Mommy Bloggers. Rick named it though when he started his in Chicago (Go Rick). It was kind of a perfect convergence of events.
Reno, thanks for the excellent post and the links.Yes, no matter what some people think, the Tea Party has to bring back the Republican Party to its Conservative roots. We cannot win by splintering into a 3rd party. We've all seen what happens when a 3rd party evolves under a Conservative banner. That's how Clinton won and it's also how BHO won. Many Conservative voters stayed at home and allowed BHO to win, because McCain is a RINO.That was a stupid move on dis-enchanted Consevatives, it extended the suffering of our country and put us farther in a hole. However, it also has energized Conservatives and gave way to the rise of the Tea Party. We must keep the momentum. Thanks again. Fight the good fight, friend…………………………Hanzo
If anyone dosen't know what the Tea Party is, after November EVERYONE will know…………..Hanzo
Ah yes, I remember the famous Rick Santelli’s call to arms . It was engaging and at the same time I was thinking that it was about time people stood up against B.S. and call a spade a spade.
Good luck to you Adam!
Thank you Rick Santelli – you sparked a great revolution and energized US.
"We will be at the Dierksen Federal Building plaza at 2:30pm…"
Really? A Federal Building? How can your followers meet there when you don't recognize their sovereignty?
You're a TRAITOR TO THE TEA PARTY MOVEMENT!!! PURGE!! PURGE!! PURGE!!
Oh, and it's "Dirksen." Moron.
Paul had almost NOTHING ( actually he had nothing to do with it, though some of his drooling sycophants did join the actual Movement ) whatsoever to do with the Tea Party Movement; it was Santelli !
Good grief……………………….didn't you even bother to read the thread header?
Really? A Federal Building? How can your followers meet there when you don't recognize their sovereignty?
It appears you're the only person who thinks the above makes sense. Adam doesn't recognize the sovereignty of TEA partiers? People can't meet in the plaza of a federal building?
A Federal Building?<I/>
Oh, it's not capitalized. Moron.
Depressing.

Great work by you and your wife. Thank you.
Happy Birthday fellow Tea Partiers!!!! People can still make a difference. Really ironic that we have Obama and his insane policies to thank for waking this giant in the land.
Good Luck Adam,
I hope a million people show up to show what america really feels about the direction our country is going. I would be their but I do not have enough carbon credits saved up for the flight.
Wow… a year already. What an electrifying clip of utter frustration from a year ago on a seldom watched CNBC morning show that lit a fuse that won't go out. Thank you Rick Santelli for giving rise and voice to so many of us that have been are are still, fed up ! May the Lord shine his graces upon the Tea Party Movement. Amen.
Time magazine? Help me out here…
SUCCESS FOR ADAM and the STATE of ILLINOIS on February 2! I cast my vote on Wednesday! Study your choice's and vote smart! CONDITIONAL ENDORSEMENTS are to be kept & if not will be made public and hope the 'words' of others are not the same ole' same ole' GO ADAM GO!!!
We are out here in the trench's getting the job done for you to be elected!
Is Casmir Pulaski still a state holiday in Illinois?
GREAT NEWS! Judge Don Lowery will be at the rally today, too! Come see another man that has fought for our country and our freedom. A man that wants to continue to fight for YOU as your U.S. Senator. Also, check out this youtube link from icaucus showing the money trail that Kirk received from TARP – YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS THIS BEFORE YOU VOTE ON TUESDAY! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fokt02nIJ1A
Come out today and fight for your freedom!
Adam, good luck to you…I hope to see you sitting in
the Governors Office. I hope the Illinois people vote
out some of those Dems so you have a Senate that
will work with you and not against you….
Even is she WASN'T giving the money back to the movement, why does the prospect of her being paid make you and so many others upset? You think conservatives shouldn't take money?
poor rick, glen beck stole every idea he had and made a fortune
I hope that they don't fall apart in Nashville. There has been some reports of disagreements over the convention and Palin's keynote speech. I would suggest that the delegates ignore the press, develop a plan to take over the republican AND democratic parties both. The people want choice and change on all sides of the isle, not just one. If this is not the goal, the people will not have a full, true voice in their government and we will all lose. The current leaders of both parties ARE special interest groups.
Your attitute is just what has kept Illinois so corrupt.
Your American, stand up and fight back!
Oops, should be attitude
Des, I live in Liberal Loony Land
I know your frustration but we can't give up.
Yeah, THAT Time magazine, the one who chose Bernanke as Person of the Year…goes to show you how much they (don't) know!!
YES 1 YEAR Happy birthday TEA PARTY!!!!! The Republicans will have to come to us if they want to win. They will have to see things our way. I'm searching in Colorado who we can support. Bennet is done here!!! Looking at Ken Buck.
If you plan to attend the event in Nashville, be sure to bring money. It will cost you $350 just to hear Palin and over $500 to participate in other events. Someone has to pay Sarah's $115,000 speaking fee.
Oh, Michelle Bachmann had to back out for mysterious reasons. Word on the street is she's just a little too liberal to suit some partiers. Sure hope there is not trouble in paradise.
Remember, Sarah is not keeping the money. It goes into the movement.
That may be so, I don't know, but if it weren't for Glenn Beck we wouldn't be in as good of shape as we are now. He has helped us in countless ways. It takes much courage and tenacity to do what he has done for all of us. He has put himself and his family in jeopardy as well. No amount of money is worth that. Some of us have it and most of us don't! I believe in this instance the flame matters more than the spark! Beck is definitely the flame!
You are so right. I did not take Beck at his word (never even knew who he was before going to Fox), but I used his information to go check out for myself the history and the information and the data. Not once could I prove him wrong, and in the instance of speculation, I think he's made it clear that it is speculation. But the facts are the facts, and for that, I'm very appreciative of Beck to provide the groundwork for us to educate ourselves and get off the couch.
Mika – a lot of times I like your honesty, but sometimes, errr. Individual attendees have to pay an entrance fee, just like any other convention, and that money is going to pay for the convention infrastructure, and to other groups within the Tea Party movement to support future events. Just like any other group that has a convention. If Sarah is not taking the speaking fee, then she will not have to personally pay taxes on it as income to her family. Not to any college fund for the kids. You are normally not mean, but this instance you are. I don't like it when people pick on other people's kids.
On either side of the debate or political spectrum, just leave the minor children of others alone.
What are you talking about. This is about Sarah Palin, not her kids. It is not against the laws of blogging to mention their names. Skin a little thin today hey…
I don't really care what you like or don't like. If my opinions offend then feel free to ignore them.
You are wrong about Palin. She is making her living preaching to the choir and is not about to give her very lucrative speaking fees away. It is why she quit the people of Alaska.
It is so laughable that anyone and I mean anyone who says that Palin is irrelevant starts to scream to high heaven, or go into a spasm every time her name is even mentioned. I would like, in all seriousness, for one of you people to be completely honest, and tell the world why this is so.It is so laughable that anyone and I mean anyone who says that Palin is irrelevant starts to scream to high heaven, or go into a spasm every time her name is even mentioned. Go Adam! No experience is better then experience with how its been done for years in Springfield.

Illinois residents need to remember that the capital is in Springfield, not Chicago. Our elected officials need to quit pandering to the Chicago clan and remember there is still an entire state that benefits and suffers at their hands. We in the southern part of the state are just as important as those north of Springfield. Stay out of Chicago politics by staying in Springfield and govern the state, not just one city!
Yeah right! She's taking money from the movement to give to … wait for it… the movement! That money is going into trig's college fund.
The teaparty is just the gift that keeps on giving.
Historically speaking, the party of an incumbent president almost always loses in the mid-term election. The pundits are telling us that 2010 will be no exception. I wouldn't be too sure of that. The Tea Party knuckleheads are already claiming responsibility for last week's Massachusetts upset and have every intention charting the GOP's future course. When the powers-that-be within the RNC deny them the ability to set the agenda, they'll splinter off into third and fourth party uprisings.
How can I be so sure of this? It's quite simple, really. These people are not only crazy, they're also dumber than doggy dung – and, thus, very easy to predict. It's only a matter of time before their mad house of cards comes crashing down.
The ten months between now and Election Day will only see the continued implosion of the "party of Lincoln". Count on it.

Tea Party tradition is as old as America. We started with individual self-interests as most important, though rejected by Obama, and close self-government as a result. Government was no more than a day's horseback ride, usually counties, subject to voter influence, town hall meetings, even vigilantes if things got oppressive, so today's Tea Parties are on the tradition track. Let's hope it doesn't get Obamanized into illegal. Claysamerica.com
I totally agree. Rick said what everyone was thinking. I still enjoy seeing that video.
